All right. Welcome to a special anniversary
edition of the horse-racing. A PR firm.
Hey Mike and off. Oh, we were bow in our birthday
suits celebrating our birthday. Happy birthday Louis.
Three years man, I've done very few things in my life.
For three years. I went to college.
I've been married longer than that.
That's about it. So I'm your second longest
relationship. I like that.
That's good. We got a special treat for Today
we are just going to have. We've got people who are just
going to kind of pop in pop out simple, just kind of, you know,
Friends of the show for sure. And part of our success, part of
our story, really one of the things I think that we've done
pretty well, is bring people on who we take advantage of their
reach. And so we got a little bit more
reach because of the people that we involve in the show and it's
been good for us. That's been great.
So, and Just just for like an idea for tonight.
We'll have people from New York Florida, California.
Indiana and Kentucky. Check it on the show today.
And I admit in Texas, I never thought we'd have this kind of
this kind of reach or bass or what have you and so it's it's
tumbling, but it's always fun to get to do these shows, it's
great, I've been a great mood. I'm in a great mood whole day,
so our first ones ready to go. You want to bring it on, Bring
it in. All right we're going to go
bring in mr. Rabbit a scheme at how's it
going? Happy birthday.
How's it going? Here we go.
Good man. Now it's going well so you know,
just kick, just chilling. Watching some football.
My fantasy team took a big L last week.
It's all right. No one cares about your fantasy
team that's like they don't care if I mean listen it does not
stop me from talking about it. That by the way we got out the
the old Forester 150 that we were gifted by the good Folks at
Old Forest or last year, this is a batch proof, the the third
batch, three of 360, look at the color on this thing just like
bottles gone. On, man.
This was it. This is the last of it.
So good stuff. Poured, one out for the show.
There you go. Matt, why do you why do you keep
on coming back when we asked you to come on the show?
Slick, because Louis backs me to come on dad.
Does he promise any kind of special favors anything like
that? We will meet in person one of
these days? No, that's true.
That's a huge part of this too is you know we have a ton of
People that have been on. Matt, this is at least your
third appearance. May be your fourth.
And, and so, and not been in the same room as my travel task yet.
So there's things. I think 23 is going to be the
year. We're going to see a lot more
people. What we get everybody together?
Yeah. Or at least, get to go to those
places where people are like are we going to the Saratoga?
Is that what you're saying? Yeah.
Or you know Matt makes a drive and meets us on Long Island you
know that kind of thing. Okay.
And so yeah that kind of thing. So breeder Tom are you going to
Breeders Cup thinking about it? Yeah.
Do you know where there so? Yeah, kitchen, get down here,
man. We got a place for you to stay.
If you want to miss those, that listen, Louis.
We need to give special. We need with all your friends
with green sheets. And we need to have a horse
racing, happy hour after party, or something like that for all
of our media people and just like, we should run out one of
those little awesome taco places in in Versailles, like right
next to Keeneland like that place where we went last night.
Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
The alley. Then it was great.
And so, yeah, so we had an idea of what go ahead.
Which place is that weird? I have no idea what the name is,
like seven in a row there and they're all really good.
So I mean it's a yeah, it looks about as from the outside looks
about as authentic as what you would think it would look like
no, not just like yellow painted stucco, I think it was and just
yeah. It was good though.
Like I think I think that's it. I think listen I think Louis
again if all these luminaries are coming to Keeneland for the
Breeders Cup. Yeah, I think I think we need to
figure out something Friday night.
Yeah. Okay.
Alright I'll start working on that.
Yeah, I mean we know Enos will now.
So you know, we can probably just pull those strings if we
need to. Yeah, it'll be good.
All right, Matt, you wanted to bring something to the show.
yeah, so it's your third birthday and I was thinking
about this earlier today, What are the top three horses since
the launch of the happier? Look, there's there's only one
horse that even can be considered the top horse in.
Happy our history, and I don't know that it is boy.
Mike, is it even close? I mean, where King Guillermo
fits. I mean, I think, I think it's
closed because HRC is right up there with me, ha ha ha Charlie
that's true for you. Yeah.
And then I think, I think the bricks and mortar for both of
us, right? Well, I was actually gonna go
atole omotola, all gotta love that horse, oh, that's a great
one. Yeah, we'll pass holy in there.
Yeah, Metolius in the top three. Yep.
Anatole King Guillermo and hot rod.
Charlie would be my would be what I would say.
It's probably for life. There's a rearm atole King,
Guillermo, and then flight line, because I'm still not over what
he did in the Pacific Classics. I think that was the best
performance we've seen. Since we started the show man,
there's been some cool ones though.
So I'm trying to think of what all the son of violence that we
saw, well gonna guess Brenda. It's my Mom calling actually
know. I love the all I got.
Let's go. Oh man, how are you Mike Hayden?
Well, Hey, thanks for having me on.
I'm gonna see you guys. I'm so I'm seeing way too many
clothes flew. Just saw install the weight but
Trevor just when I thought sure if it was going to be sure there
was gonna pull, oh, he sure was still a horserace.
Coffee mug going right there by Mills.
Well, here we go. Alright, alright, those are
Sleek the well, thanks for jumping on, guys.
So they were asking John. Your favorite horse in the last
three years. So, since 2019 or the The top
three horses for you in that time.
I've course went with King Guillermo and mottola who I
loved both. But then I think that performs
by flight line this year kind of put it into rarefied air, where
are you at John last 3s years of horses?
Well, certainly Flightline, you got to be there, which is
awesome. Yeah, I mean that he's a
once-in-a-lifetime horse, I think.
Oh boy. I think you have to put Nick's
go and there. Oh, yeah, okay, yeah.
So we now have this is worth noting.
So we have New York, Florida, Texas.
And California on the show at the same time.
This is exciting. We'll go.
Matt, how are you? I'm doing well, I'm a little
sick, but some trying to rest up for the ribs.
No, but, you know, I just watch hidden scroll, totally
underwhelmed. So some things never change.
So, we'll ask you. Let's do two horses for you.
Best course, you've seen, since we started in 2019 and the best
horse, you've seen a Golden Gate field since 2019.
White line, that's course. Okay.
Yeah, that's probably right now. You were there yourself.
It's pretty Universal. I was not there.
No, no, no. The giant rabbit, take your
press pass. That's what I would give him.
My press pass if you need one. John, well, thanks.
He's got connections. That's what I heard.
You know, I will say being with, you know, two maps and a Mike
brings me back to this to ice. Yeah, to get you mad.
Let me guess brings me back to like elementary school when you
used to take those tests where you see like, you know, three
pictures of a hammer and a piece of cheese and your ass, which
one doesn't fit. Right.
Yeah, I think I'm the piece of cheese on this lineup.
I disagree. All right, so flight line for
you. What's your, what do you think
the best horse has been at a Golden Gate Fields last couple
years? There's actually a couple good
nominees there. I would have to say Rombauer,
probably agree that goes on when the preakness after winning the.
All right, where we at on getting like, grated status for
that race. If we heard anything, I haven't
heard, anything know, that's where it's getting ridiculous.
I need you guys to talk to your people and make it happen but
you're not a with a shirt on. First of all, oh, I don't know
that we can help you. Then yeah, we're good.
We're going to let Matt get out of here because he needs to save
his voice for Is calls this weekend.
All the racing at Golden Gate. What's your steaks on Saturday?
I just saw it on Twitter. Yeah, the Golden Gate Turf
distaff just F. Yeah, it's a good race 9 horses.
I'm right in the news and notes about it.
We got some Southern California horses which make things
interesting. We've got a really nice Philly
up here named natural color who unlike really nice Philly and
one in the right direction and if she runs well again, you'll
probably see her in Southern California, next time.
So it's good, right? Race.
And hopefully, I get to call it. I will get out of here.
Say that always feel better Buddy.
Guy's good. All right.
Well, we found a spring of 2020. Is that right?
Yes, bring in 2020 is when I kind of jumped in and then you
guys had been part of my Friday morning every Friday since day.
And honestly, I don't think I've missed the show.
Wow, that's quite the occurs quite The Siege on you have
something in common And with Mike that we're part of your
Friday. Yeah.
Friday morning, when I want the dog who actually hasn't made an
appearance in today's, I know I was wondering the whole time
while your dog is barking last week Rachel's like texting us
and like, you know, you know, toaster dog outside have said
this many times on the show, but that is the dog.
That has gotten a steak ordered for it in Florida by a man in
Baltimore. So that is that's the life that
that dog leads. And so I have ordered him a
horse by John, maybe a bricks and mortar or I don't know.
You know, trying to change the question a little bit in certain
make it like, I don't know whether you said memorable horse
or whatever because everyone the second, Favorable, horse would
be Medina Spirit. Mmm.
Oh, for how it really changed everything.
I mean, do you have to admit? He's just was so gutty in the,
in the in that and he, you know, and then the everything happened
and he got disqualified, then he came back in the Preakness, and
yeah, performed there. But, you know, then died later
that year, that's a horse whose name will be remembered for a
while. And may actually, hopefully,
and, you know, day, Aaron's basement or whatever.
He'll has a sign that has him as a Kentucky Derby winner and he
might put it back up one stuff. Once Mandell.
Umm, you know who's competing with country houses?
Like the worst Kentucky Derby winner in the last 10 years,
Rich strong would like to work. I quit.
Good enough. Alright, well John get out of
here. We appreciate you.
All right, take care. Get to the charger taste game.
Oh, we're losing Rivals. House key to.
All right, so that's all right. Happy birthday guys.
Thanks for having me. I appreciate it, man.
Oh yeah, three years or as good as the first three.
Appreciate it. Well, you coming for Breeders
Cup? I think that's what.
Wait, the third year is actually the ultimate is leather, right?
But you know, you to be a good Catholic boy, is probably don't
want the cold weather and Giff that one shirtless Catholic
boys, leather gifts. Anyway, I will catch you.
Actually, reminisce a little and talk about the people that have
helped us with the show. John was our first ever guest
once Mike and I decided we were going to do this thing at
Breeders Cup at Churchill Downs on a previous iteration of this
show for years ago. So, John was an early supporter
of ours, I discovered him through the newsletter, which he
eventually, let me write for at the times.
And so, John has been John's been one of those guys that has
been not only just supportive of us.
But I mean wildly supportive of me.
I'm I'm a huge fan of his. When we went to Disney, I went
out and had lunch with him, left my family for a couple hours to
go, see John because he lives in the Orlando area.
And, and so, just the guys at times, you know, you got to do
GLE time, I know I got to do the Oaks rankings and they turned
out really great. And so now it's just a huge fan
of John as he gave me such a massive, massive bump that way.
That was really, really great. So did you read any of my stuff
in the LA Times? Mike Mills?
I followed the Oaks rankings when you're doing this.
Okay. -, yeah, it's interesting because we always talk to you
about how we start doing something and then all of a
sudden, it starts happening on some other Platforms in that.
I think people started let who started to DeRosa start doing
those rankings regular right after that.
Someone yeah, someone to inspire.
And then, you know, we got the Breeders Cup people trying to do
the the whole, the happy hour thing to.
So there's and there's little things like that, the drafts on
another show, that was called, The HHH.
Yeah podcast. So there's a horseplayers happy
hour and HHH happy or HHH racing pod.
Yeah it's just people I mean but this is the original where the
oh gee. Hey, so going back to the the
horse question because we talk a lot on this show about falling
in love with the Phillies. Who's your favorite Philly in
the last three years? Favorite filling the last couple
of years man, bezel one comes to mind.
I get to see her again on Saturday.
I don't know why her running style is so I'd love it just
that that closing Sprinter thing.
She's 849 at six furlongs when she's running this weekend which
is awesome. And favorite Philly, you know,
Mallet that did me good because I predicted her in the Oaks and
that she wanted some kind of, gotta give her an odd there to
go certain, getting a yeah, yeah, that was one of our First,
big calls and yeah 13:1 and stuck our she dares though.
She knows that for me honestly, okay.
I think we didn't even mention the truce command.
I mean, she yeah, this is good guys.
Might go ahead. How are you saying about my
mouth that? No, I was the same out that one
of the Oaks. I mean, I remember following
Louise rankings and I was on mouth.
That probably right around the same time.
You guys mentioned a pike, early March.
I think it was and I was a huge fan of Malachi coming into that
day, okay? Oh, and then it was nice to see
her bounce back two weekends ago, I think through the
weekends ago and so that was a big win.
You know. She's been battling with that
crew for what better part of two years now.
Yeah. And so to see her get that win I
was like that was like that. I'd probably go with mouth after
me the other question you guys mentioned the best horse you've
seen I know it's a fan of the show but bricks and mortar is
has been of course that I fell in love with.
I'm a bigger Turf handicapper than I I guess I am a dirt
handicapper. I Love the turf races better but
bricks and mortar was just someone.
I thought was just an incredible horse.
All right, let's go with this one.
Who's the horse? You love to hate?
Oh man, so many of the West. The West Coast baffert's got
like over like MacKenzie or that's mine.
MacKenzie's, is it or like, oh, who was the favorite that lost a
Country, Grammar, and Dubai. Oh man, why blanket on these
names? That's way up there that's for
didn't hire on Tralee lose the Country Grammar in Dubai.
He was one of them. That's another it's another bad
for throw another West Coast horse and I'm just a blanket
out. He was favored in the race
actually. Yeah, but he's way up there.
I just be I think, I think it's like a Mackenzie or like a, you
know, oh, what was the? I think it just had a one-word
name. It was like a three million
dollar purchase and they ran the horse like six times.
It's just we never saw him again, any of those horses that
are just like, Super lightly race.
You'd never got to know him and that kind of thing where they're
just not there, just not Runners and it is what it is.
But how about for you? Men are like mine's probably.
Gufo would be quite honestly. Ha ha ha ha.
Not stand that. I mean every time I'm kind of
like the every every other time with me.
So I get if I if if I like him in the race and he doesn't show
up and then when I don't like him in the race, it like two
weekends ago, he shows up and runs a monster but he's a
mile-and-a-half specialist and just one of those 14.
Like I'm not a fan of the I just never never been a fan of gufo
but I mean you know he's phenomenally talented.
So 2018 going into 2019, just the 2019 year for bricks and
mortar wins the Pegasus wins the turf wins.
The the Moon is at Fairgrounds comes up here with the old
Forester on Derby Day wins The Manhattan at Belmont, wins the
Arlington million and then wins the Breeders Cup Turf would be
just like Mike and I bet him in every race.
So it's just one of those. Yeah, I need to go.
I need to go out to dinner real quick.
Give me a course. Boom.
And I'm very honored that you have asked me to come on the
third anniversary of your podcast.
Congratulation, thank you Dan, how's the qilin sale going.
You having fun? I'm having a great time.
Good. Man, what's even better than
that? Is, I hit the 6 race at
Churchill just a few minutes ago.
I can Philly. One.
Paid 10 bucks attaboy. All right.
Nice little 421. I like that.
Yeah, I got so excited. Took your shirt off and got on
the show. I love it.
Hey Louise said I had to take my shirt off and so you know if
you're okay with a 75 year old man with a I just I'm Oli.
Look if you if you had a A shirtless Naismith Hall of Famer
on the happy hour on your bingo card.
I mean, just I'm finished your drink.
I mean, that's where we're at tonight.
People that's it. Daniel can do whatever he wants
on this shot. Yes, of course.
That's that's yeah. That's what it comes down to.
So yeah, so I'm also I wanted to use tonight since we're all
here, shirtless together to announce Dan is going to be
joining us for our Breeders Cup coverage.
Yeah, it'll be. That will be live at Keeneland,
it'll be on 680 on 1057 here in Louisville and so, it's going to
be, it's going to be awesome. So I'm very excited to have Dan
as part of it and I think you know when you can help but you
can help the little guy, it's really something that I look
forward to to help someone like Dan who probably couldn't go to
Breeders Cup. Otherwise I don't plan to be
shirtless at Keeneland listen. Listen rookie very much back.
Do we make Dad pay for dinner? Wasn't he rookie gonna be great?
No, but that's gonna be awesome and, and Dan is mr.
Keeneland, I mean, that guy if I were you, I was talking about
this the other day, Dan, in the bullpen over it at ESPN
Louisville. I was like, if I'm Dan Issel, I
just figure out the house closest to Keeneland.
And I just walk around to Keeneland because I imagine
people just hand, you coffee. They had you lunch.
Like, you don't have to worry about anything, it's just the
best, I'm sure, right. They're very nice.
It's best UK fan. I've said this vocal, I've been
in Denver, most of my adult life, but I walk down the street
in Lexington, Kentucky, and people talk to me like they call
me yesterday. It's the best Abscam.
I think, I think he would be elected the next governor of
Kentucky here and so, it's probably yeah, yeah, yeah,
goodbye for governor. I'd already upset.
Right? You be Governor Kentucky.
There you go. You too, wow.
Wow. He's not he's not father, he's
been 500, I think. Well, what's amazing is like he
got off to that terrible start and the first for the first two
and a half seasons, and he's been like 65% since then.
Yeah, that's a last five years for sure?
Yeah. Yeah, he's been so solid.
Yeah. He's he's been terrific.
Absolutely. All he does is win.
I can handle it. He kind of reminds me a lot of
kind of like tubby Smith and in some ways.
I need an yeah. Yeah, you know but Toby couldn't
keep it. Going right tubby was here ten
years just like Mark has been a but tubby started going
downhill. Mark's been able to keep going
uphill so that's that's the difference.
Yeah, absolutely. All right, well Dan.
I will see you tomorrow at 10:00.
I will not Dan. I'm not going to make it
tomorrow but I told Mike tomorrow.
Louis next two weeks I'm not going to be there but I would, I
will actually I would bet against Kentucky.
I would Take the Northern Illinois and Youngstown State,
the next two weeks and the points.
If I got the yes, yeah you gotta believe.
We're already looking forward to the Mississippi game, so bad.
I just think he's gonna get, he'll go back to being real
vanilla the next couple weeks and they'll probably try some
stuff out. Try some guys out, you know.
And he might I do you know I don't know if you ever
strategically keep it closer to keep your guys involved in the
game or not, but he's definitely not going to blow out Youngstown
State just with the connections and stuff.
Yeah. And you know, I think he'll go
back to what he did. The first game is that is not
let the offensive line by block, anybody, it worked!
All right, I'm gonna go put my shirt back on because I'm
freezing right now. Well, it's Sherry would
appreciate that. So, yeah, thanks Dan.
Thanks guys. Congratulations again.
Thanks for having me on. Thanks, Stacy the morning,
buddy. Bye.
Awesome. I got at Mills.
Bookie so much like you'd listening honestly little one.
I want to know. We're just two guys talking.
No, you know, I think the the show, I mean, it's awesome.
It's a part of my Friday morning, it's my Friday morning
for sure. Yeah, and it's you guys
honestly, it's about horse racing.
It's also about just two guys talking shop, right?
Talk talking about, you know, Sports and then life.
And then, you know, we had the bourbon thing for a while you
We're doing anything. It's Benny.
Do you need to bring it back the clocks that in the worst way?
Yeah, I actually I never had I think old Forester Statesman and
so you guys were on the show and I was like, you know what, I say
the guys talking about, I'm going to go out and give me one
and so I got one, you know, and it's delicious but it's it's a
it's a show that like I said it's two guys talking shop
talking horse racing, couple gas here and there.
It's a phenomenal show. And like I said, it's my Friday
morning for sure. You mentioned you mentioned.
We appreciate it and just a possum removing goofball
earlier. And I think we gotta just
briefly touch a blue town of Frozen on mine.
And I don't, I don't know what your problem is, actually.
Now, Mike and I are talking so, okay.
Yeah, beautiful was, of course, came after two weeks, rest in
and traveling from Saratoga, really?
I think Lou. And I were kind of going again,
both going against them and he, but he, he looked pretty good.
I mean, even though we didn't win, yeah, he looked awesome.
Red Knight was one of my three includes for this race ended up
holding on, dude, I'm watching that race.
And like up, here comes go. Fo left out gufo stupid Zach,
you got that ready for us, man. So this is the the
million-dollar grade to Kentucky Turf cup with red Knight holding
on at the end here. I mean Kentucky Downs.
Dude you if feels like okay they're getting to the Finish
Line. No they're not.
Like no they're not because that big old an app.
It just keeps going keeps going. It's really remarkable place.
I got to go down last Thursday and And it just that stretch,
it's got to be the longest stretch in North America.
It has to be. I mean, one of the Belmont.
Yes. It takes forever and Kentucky
dance, honestly. I mean, I definitely go check it
out. It looks like a cool place to go
watch a race. But I mean, it's just so I
think. Red Knight is the one in this
race. Highest honors these two with a
quarter of a mile to run and they're side by side.
Red Knight, no comes up to them, and they go outside, kupo is
splitting horses, he's got a late run to and then on the
outside, it's another mystery Red.
Knight close to home gufo charging on the outside highest
honors. They're coming down to the wire.
It's a thriving photo finish and it will be, I believe rent
night, man, that's a close credible.
Finish that's great Breeders Cup.
Challenge race winning your in red nights in the Breeders Cup
on have turf and we'll see but that horse can do.
So I will not be including red night of my Breeders Cup
tickets. Mama half, when I came
intercourse is like going around eight times like racing a
Bristol needless besmirch but on that but no, he ran great.
I mean that finish that course is so bizarre and so fun to see
those different horses. When I have to tell you I was As
a kite watching gufo, lose 2015, 21, dog.
Because I was like, okay, pick for going great, I've got a
horse that's 16 traces of the last race and that it was
Kentucky Downs again. So it just didn't work out.
But yeah and that and that core said that stretches uphill to it
appears to be on TV. Looks like it's a little, got a
little bit of feel to it. So the overall tilt of the
stretch is down but there is an up hill halfway through it so it
does both right? So you gotta kind of adjusted
both? Well Mike we appreciate you
coming on. We're going to be.
On to the handicapped and section.
So and just keep listening and thanks for support and we hope
we get to meet you in person sometime.
By the way, if anyone's wondering and is watching when I
when I gave the sentimental, talk about getting to meet
someone who listens to our show and show him and his dad a good
time at Churchill Downs. Yep.
It was Mike and and so it's a it's been fun.
Because I actually called Mike today to say, hey do you want to
jump on? The potty was like of course.
What are we doing here? And so so just been a blast
getting to know you man. And so 83 Now, we'll do it
again. Okay, man.
It's such a it's such an incredible thing to be on the
show. I really appreciate it guys.
That, you know, since I started listening, I mean, it's you guys
done fantastic. The way, you've grown the show,
you guys keep it interesting and keep it alive, you know.
So honestly, congratulations for the three years.
It's been incredible show. Keep doing what you're doing.
You know. I try to tell as many people as
I can. And so thank you.
Thank you guys for having me and Louie.
Thank you for meeting me and my dad.
I mean my dad still talks about that trip is awesome but that
trip it's an incredible experience and it means a lot to
us and it's going to Always mean a lot to him.
I got to tell you, our producer is in Texas and he owns a Giant
RV. So there's already talk of a Sam
Houston trip, just telling you hey I'll be more happy.
Let's do it. All right, bye.
Thanks guys. Similarly for us see, but I like
that Lily just real quick. It's okay to tell little, he
didn't have to go full nipple on the, on the podcast.
I disagree. I disagree.
He needed the nibbles. Yes, I totally disagree.
It was old man. Zoom, it was perfect.
Probably go sit in a sauna at the YMCA.
Yes, yes. That's the idea.
Yeah, it was perfect. It was Was the best thing that's
ever happened to the show? Yes, so it was fantastic, right?

A really great thing. They're also offering if you
want to get a longer term membership with them, huge
discounts right now on the website of great racing.com, you
get something like 90 cards a month with them, if you sign up
for the membership. Quarterly thing is that what
that is? Yeah, yeah, so I mean really,
really discounted. If you just want to have the
information, be able to put it again against your own handicap
in green, tier, AC duct And I give you a hard time but he does
a great job handicapping and picking these races.
So it's fun getting to write actually like right out what I'm
thinking in the in the shade. And I you know, I've talked to
some of the handicappers over Green Sheet, they really loved
it and so it's been a nice. Nice thing to be able to add to
what is already a, I mean, they've been around for 70
years. I mean they don't need, they
don't need my help some, but it's been a lot of fun.
Are you going to church this weekend?
I am. I'm taking to my son's to the,
to the races. This is a weekend.
I always try to get there on Saturday for the Iroquois for
the Pocahontas, the first of the Derby and Oaks perhaps it's
we're getting into that that weird season where they kind of
overlap. Yeah.
But it's three It Up season but it's also the two-year-old
season start to kick off sitting more serious way and the to turn
to your season at least. And I I say this in my head if I
had a horse win the Iroquois I would sell him as soon as I
could. Yeah, well I think that's what I
thought I will but I think I would be arrogant to be like no,
no he could do it. This is how I feel about the
entire Friday at the Breeders Cup honestly.
Hmm, if your horse is good they're just get rid of it.
Yeah. Just get rid of taking me
because I mean really when you go down and look at how many of
those actually paying out to do something significant later, I
mean, there's it's it's few and far between, you know, they Peak
early. Them.
We talk about some of the kid who peaks in middle school, you
know, medically. Then all the other kids catch up
to him and that's what kind of what it does.
Feel like that. I agree.
Yep. Green Saturday, Breeders Cup.
Is really where it's at. I love Friday to because it's
the payouts are insane. But yes, there's, they're insane
for a reason I agree. Yeah, they're insane because
it's unpredictable, right? I mean, you like the
unpredictability of it? Yeah, I will start with the
seventh race though, Louis. It is the open mind?
I do have an open mind Louis. Most of the time.
Okay, good. Yeah.
This is a six Furlong Sprint, and it's for Phillies mirrors
that are three year olds and up. We're gonna see some familiar
names here. Likes concen, whose race to
Churchill Downs before half of her starts, excels in the one
whose race against scottson at Churchill Downs before.
Yeah. And club cars got 10 starts at
Churchill Downs. I mean, this is like the The
Churchill Downs Invitational, if you guys exactly four mayor's.
Yeah, it was embarrassed. We've been around for a while.
Yeah. Five, or Years old.
I mean take this one in folks because honestly this rivalry
Scott's Annabelle's, the one. It's as good as it gets in
especially in our Kentucky Circle and this might be the
last one. You never know, right?
And so those 16 years old Scotsman five, you just don't
know how long these horses a holdup Bells.
The one closing in on one point eight million dollars in
earnings scottson almost certainly will go over a million
dollars in this race. I think it's Bells the one here
8 of 9 at six furlongs oldies. I'm not waiting running second,
she just loves the distance Bells, the one again, one of
those fillies that just excuse me, well, as mayors, That closes
as a as a, as a sprinter. And in my opinion here, she's
going to have plenty to run out with cheetara joyful.
Cadence. And so look for her to pick it
off. I do think though if you're
playing the longer sequence, scottson is totally capable of
picking this race off so I'm for in one.
Would you include joyful Cadence?
I would not just because I don't think, I mean she's a nice horse
she's but she's winning races at like Prairie Meadows or optional
claimers at Oaklawn. I think that's kind of more.
Paste hyphen s. When they all when they all came
on Arlington million day. Yeah.
But it all fell apart. You don't actually Mike.
I'm glad you brought that up. An interesting thing about about
handicapping for this weekend was how many of the horses ran
on that Saturday in anticipation of running, right this, right.
Because been a month, right? It's Bender. 33 days or
something like that, right? And so some of the horses in the
two-year-old races broke their maidens on Arlington.
Millionaire coming back to run end Iroquois in the Pocahontas
that kind of thing. And so a little bit different of
a Set up that we're used to usually that horse would have
been at Saratoga or, you know, locally Ellis or Indiana,
whatever. And so to have those horses in
those spots is a little bit different joyful kittens.
Like you mentioned read really. Well, last time out, I'm just
going to say bezel on beater by more than a length.
And I think there's a reason again, I'm leaning on foreign
one in that race. All right, going to go into the
eighth which is the mound 16. That is the grade 3, Locust
Grove or a thousand dollars on the line here for Phil.
He's embarrassed. Is it up and we're going to see
another horse who I would say. Would be an honorable mention
for the show's favorite horses. And this horse actually has got
six wins Lifetime and four of them have happened at Churchill
Downs and that is on do tante also taught, I agree.
Yeah. Yeah.
That was all right Annie. If you can t.
We also see Crazy Beautiful in this race and we got another
pretty decent field here. Louis to do you like, you know,
I went a little bit shorter in this race.
I'm going to include great crazy.
Eautiful for sure. I have on futon on top, just
because of her track record at Churchill Downs, seven runs
always hits the board for wins a second and two thirds of all of
her. Best runs have been at Churchill
Downs. Even over a wet surface at the
distance. She's 448 lifetime, I really
love her here. She s off the layoffs here.
That's the best angle with Kenny McPeak.
It's not closed. Is second off the layoffs.
I'll be taught coming out of Saratoga.
Where she ran, third in the, in the summer.
Colony gets Bryant Hernandez back where she did all of her
good running before. With Brian Hernandez.
I like them getting back to the basics there and then I have I
do have the three Crazy. Beautiful.
I don't know what to do with this horse she stepped into
majorly serious company. The last two times out in the
shoe V and in the personal Edson at Saratoga going those two
turns at a mile and an eighth, but it gets like Mallet that
Claire are in search results and Latt Russa and like horses, like
that. None of those horses are here.
So I do think she has a chance here, where, and wellness, you
be. I totally Jen.
Yeah, she was happy and that's what I'm saying, and frankly,
the race before that she rented lady Jacqueline at thistledown
finished. Right behind Army Wife, the two
of them and she's Source to. So you know, if you think of
army wife is better than the other horses in this field, then
you should definitely like crazy beautiful here.
And then I think you have to include the five.
It's a little Tootsie. No, no.
That's play hard play. Hard played hard?
Yeah. Who won last time out at a mile
at Saratoga has tried the distance four times it is going
to do it here as well. Oh you know what nevermind I'm
sorry you're right. It's the for its low density.
I'm going against the five here. Guy who played our did win last
time out though. Yes, at am I I'll going one turn
at Saratoga out of the Chute there.
Edgar. Marella so bored, little
Tootsie's, what? Our last few races, she won the
Anchorage at a mile over. Muddy course at Churchill Downs,
comes back wins the groupie doll at Ellis Park.
The reason I like that is because if you, if you watch the
shoot at Ellis, you actually go straight and then you turn left
and then you go to the, the last turn to come home.
And so there's something about like, it's Maya.
Yeah, it's like a turn in three quarters even.
Yeah. And so, I think she's ready.
I think she's good to go. And this is the like mean she's
run them on. Seen before early in her career.
Yep. But this is the real first time
kind of stretching out and going, I agree.
Yep. And so, you know, on the form
they include the mile as a mile and a sixteenth inner form
that's why she's one out of three, because she won or no.
No, right. She's one before at this
distance is just was before 2021 horse runs.
A lot 17 times their life has won 17 times.
And so this is Tom. My name is Edgar Morales.
The two of them. It's really interesting.
When they started the meat during Derby, we're hitting that
great. And then all of a sudden,
Sudden, he and Edgar, really clicked, really figured it out
Edgar's percentage went way up and they're hitting it. 19% at
Churchill Downs. I think that's something to
watch here. The to the 24 percent overall,
pick it off, a bunch of racist, frankly at Horseshoe
Indianapolis and so I went to 34 in this race.
Yeah they're hidden 19% at Churchill Downs.
Yes, but overall they're hidden 2024 session.
Yep. So I think that both of them are
paying. I mean it's three dollars and
fourteen cents on a dollar overall into Dollars.
Excuse me at at Churchill Downs, picking off these kinds of
races. A 2-1 horse is so I did lead on
little tits here. All right, we're going to move
on to the Iroquois. This is the derby points race,
right? Right here.
Malin 16th for, for two-year-olds really, you know,
horses that are trying to position themselves for that
Breeders Cup. Juvenile.
And of course, maybe even down the road to the Kentucky Derby.
Have to go back and look. Who's the last South Bend ran
this race and whiteness and want it?
Yeah, because we were there for that.
Yep. I'm trying to think about other
Derby Runners that I've had recently I'll look it up that
way. You talk about this, this field,
appreciate it. So I you know the three Damon's
Mount I put on top only because he's done it.
Twice wins his debut by a measly 12 and a half lengths at
Churchill over 64 logs and then comes back runs at Saratoga in
the special grade to event six. And a furlongs beats Gulfport
who people thought was the superhorse of super horses by
open links three and a quarter length with Gabby science.
They bring Gabriel sighs back here.
I really like that a lot. She'll level is really figuring
it out. She's having a really good year
or 17%, she and Gabriel sighs. 21% at Churchill Downs, limited
sample, size together, 19 percent, overall, another
limited sample size. I get it Sprinter out, she still
figuring it out. But she's had three.
I love this, I love this step, by the way, how many
two-year-olds of you had? Well, I've had three races.
How many of them are Damon's Mount?
Well, two of them. It's, she won both of those.
So she said it gets 67% 12 year olds.
So that's not a stat to look at, right?
But this, this appears to be a A horse.
What's cool about this horse? Is this is a Gervin.
There's a Florida bread for 6. G's the horse is already.
What? 145 thousand dollars you talk
about awesome that you're talking about.
Yeah I love the stuff that's a horse of a lifetime good for the
ownership group there. And so it's it's own and I think
this is actually either she owns it or she can't remember.
And so it's horse has been working at Colonial is going to
come over. Run at Churchill.
I have him on top just because he's done it twice.
He will have to go Sprinter out for sure but Gervin was a fine
to turn horse and so we'll see. And I have Echo again in the
second spot. And if you wanted to use Echo
again, up top and not even question it, I get it runs the
Saratoga, it might be the best Maiden win of the Year runs at
94 buyer, picks up, Joel, Rosario Sprinter route for Steve
asmussen is 20% as some wasn't, by the way, we were wrongly
about sounds good. Hey, you won the street sins, he
didn't. Okay, wrong wrong meat.
And then, As Mustang is picked it up and graded Stakes.
This is Mike's biggest critique of as mohsen is his graded
Stakes number. He's up to 21%.
His last 200 grams. So really good number.
Okay. But I want to write that top
level I understand but we're talking about great three.
Sure. By the way, I don't understand
the grading system because for two-year-olds is there a more
prestigious to turn race in the fall for two-year-olds other
than Breeders Cup? Probably not, I think you and
actually going back and looking at this, like I was kind of
wrong. I mean, midnight bourbon.
Ran this race? Yeah, sitting on go.
I mean we should not go nice horse.
Yes it on go one and then I bourbon came in second that year
I mean there's there's been more today.
It's not the Kentucky Jockey Club, I get it, it's not that
level but we're not to November yet.
We're talking about racist in September.
That's different. That's a horse is going a mile
and a sixteenth right now. That's a very different thing at
to than it is in November or December or whatever.
And so but Echo again here son a Gunrunner.
We've watched his his his progeny, I mean, it's been
awesome and so wouldn't be surprised if he picks up the win
here. And then I'll Lastly, on the
sixth Jace's Road, I'm kind of chalky.
I'll be honest in the Iroquois. I have not chalky in the
Pocahontas, but that's not to be supposed to surprise, but will
then what? And so chases Road really good
on debut at Ellis Park, going six, furlongs with with Joe
talamo's picks a fluorometer. Ooh, here I am doing this
because Brad Cox is training and he goes Sprinter out at 32
percent. So, let's just, I'll be very
honest. Like that's the reason I'm using
that horse as well. And so, I landed three. 9 and 6,
in their reason. All right, we're going to move
on to the. We will throw red Society
Stakes. Yeah, those guys pop it up and
getting one second. Second here.
Yeah, Gene and Mike getting it done.
That's right. Six furlongs to print right
here, 235 thousand dollars on the line for three-year-olds and
up going to see some horses like Necker Island.
We're going to see who else is in here.
Louis who do you like you know there's a new shooter here
isolate who's coming in out of a couple of good performances
back-to-back one at Hawthorne and then Up an unbelievable
break out in a restricted Stakes at Saratoga over seven furlongs
in a buck. Twenty three with Tyler.
It's interesting time. Amos is moving to Joel Rosario
for this race, but the horse ran a 100 by her figure.
There are no other three figure buyer figures in this field.
I have isolated on top of six, one, four of the last five is on
a great streak. Three out of four.
This year didn't run great. Last time at Churchill Downs,
that was over a sloppy go. So throw that out.
We're not gonna have a sloppy go here.
It's going to be hot but it's not.
Going to be sloppy. And so don't worry about that
last timeout for 47 lifetime, over Fasco.
And frankly, this horse is versatile. 244 lifetime over wet
go. I also am going to include
Necker Island, five wins at, Churchill, Downs, and 12 runs.
And so I think the horse can jump up, it's a five year old
horse, they're a little harder to predict when they win it, his
kind of percentage which is about 25%, he wins about one in
every four races. He runs in Francisco, Arrieta
picks up the, the mount here. I'm really interested in this
because Chris Men with him hits it, 21 percent overall.
I think this is a, I think this is a trainer going to a jockey
because Mitch Merle is on site. Already had his head one on him
before though. Yes.
I understand. But Mr. Burrowes on-site and
he's going away from its burrow who's won the last two races,
with this horse. DQ in the last race in the
Chesapeake, but essentially has won the last two.
I'm interested in the move to Arrieta.
If it's not a trust thing about the 21 percent overall I'm 64,
I'm going as thin as I can in this.
Egg which might bite me because I do think there are other good
horses in here. Tyler's on AC expressway one at
the very high level allowance race.
This is the to horse, you're right.
The high-level allowance level here for for not to lifers,
three of 19, the lifetime. But once in a while, Tyler, just
picks one of these off. And so if you're looking for a
race I'm going 6 and 4 here, I'll be very, very clear if
you're if AC Expressway is more than six or seven to one.
That's a pretty easy win, bet for five bucks, something like
that. And I think is probably will see
that, right? I mean, you might get that
number and the horses got two wins and are three ones lifetime
to and the Churchill Downs. Yes, his hit the board six out
of seven times at the at this distance.
I like that. Louis.
I like that little buoys long shot.
I think he's kind of. He's also an included in saying
it in exact attractive something like that.
Yes, absolutely. And so AC Expressway kind of
that other horse here. I mean, you got a lot of horses.
You might know the name of many, why I Look I know that name
horses 4432 lifetime yet we don't win the last two years,
it'll in ten runs, I mean so it is what it is.
But ya know, a fun race actually, I think it's pretty
cool. You know, Miles Ahead just ran a
huge race against Aloha. West, who people think is a
really, really good more coming up, right?
Hey, bullet workout last out of 59 for a long greeting.
And so, you know, if you want another horse, that's the one
that's Martin Garcia who I really like it, Paul McGee there
to them about never teamed up. But that you use miles and as
well. If you wanted many, Why?
By the way who breeders print in the year that we were healing?
The last one who came? So I don't know if that's what
you want. These are Advocates is to would
you are the one who must be? Pause.
The show real quick my guy big loser.
Who shits in every every Monday on the show, it's Louise. 6105
seven, on ESPN Louisville at 10:30 Recaps.
The Kentucky football game for us.
Yes, he's with, he's with the Sea of blue is asking.
Are you usually shirtless is this a normal thing for you?
I can't know. It's our, it is our birthday
ship. So we are paying extra
birthdays. This is the only fans version of
our show. We are in our birthday suit for
the birthday show. So they go, Necker Island.
Would you ever go to Neverland? Where is Necker Island?
The Carolina Necker Island is the Private Island owned by
Richard Branson. Oh well then yes, I have a
friend of mine who actually got to do that this year.
Who whoa that sounds that humble brag.
Probably I'm drinking. What I mean?
Alright. Number race 11, which is the
Pocahontas? Is a great, three 300,000 our
race. This is your Oaks points race.
Louis. I mean.
Good luck. That's how I feel about this.
It is. Now I have the same feeling as
the motoring line maker that the favorite is 4 to 1, right?
And so, it's not as though there's an overwhelming favor
here that's just a warrior who's run twice, she's won both of a
races, okay? The 11, that's real Gutierrez,
very fine. Jockey John Ortiz, who by the
way, with two year olds, it's a 24% with a huge sample size.
So, I understand all the numbers, all that's fine.
Frankly, the two of them hit together at 21 percent overall,
in a massive sample size. Ray veilleux is turning into one
of those guys who's going to be a problem on the Kentucky
Circuit. So I want to be really clear
about that. I think he's a really fine
jockey. This is the kind of spot where
he can jump up. This is a hundred fifty thousand
dollar. Purchase a justify burner DD on
the bottom. This will Roy Lee bread, Philly.
Like she's there. So all of its there, it all
makes sense. I'm going to try to beat her and
I'm not really going to do that much work.
I'm going to go to the 6, excuse me, the five grand love as
Listen as asthma and Joel Rosario horse ran great on debut
at Saratoga in August over six and a half furlongs wins by a
bunch and and comes back in this spot, he goes printer out of
twenty percent, this is what he does.
Develops these two year, olds into that spot.
So I'm going five first, I have the 11 in the second spot in
this race. I also looked at the seven, Who
is South lawn has run twice? Took that second run to win was
favored in both races. Joe talamo's on the second time,
picks up, Tyler. And I've talked about on the
show, one of the things that's happened, that's been you know,
actually this is interesting. What are the things that's
happened? In the three years on this show?
Mike, is that Dale Romans went from being a prominent
two-year-old trainer to not mattering at all in the channel
Drake's? That's been frankly, one of the
top three more surprising things that's happened while we've been
doing this pod and so Norm, Cassie to Has picked up that
spot, he's great with two-year-olds, he's hitting it,
21% with a big sample size to be, he has moved into that slot.
If you have a two year old and you're listening to this podcast
Norm, Cassie should be your guy. That's really how I feel about
it. The two of them hitting at 41%,
at Churchill Downs, in recent times, just a massive number.
So I have South lawn in the third spot.
Then I went to the 10 fun and feisty which is what we call
Mike when he's off, are broke main last timeout.
Actually divided by C, naught boss and not boss lady Bailey.
I'm not there yet, so fun, if iced tea, caddy McPeak, who hits
a 15% with two year. Olds is really, really good.
Going Sprinter out at 17 percent one last time out on that
Arlington million day. So we get that month off, right?
That we talked about loves the course, recency at the track.
He actually left. Peru recently started to hook up
our hitting a 29% to Other at Churchill Downs.
Last 17 times out. It's a really, really nice
number and then I also included the eight horse here, need some
money and I think people are going to look at this and go.
What are we doing? Should you just hit the call
button? No because there's going to be
twelve horses here. Okay.
Need some money, your name is a is a nine thousand dollar
purchase of tequila, September sales, okay but was bred for 75
G's to Street sense. Medallia D'oro on The Damp side
goes out wins at Ellis Park over that Mi going the 1 and 3/4
turns that's why I'm including her because I think that in a
weird world, this is what happens.
This kind of horse wins the Pocahontas.
I'm trying to pick in the fifth spot, just the most random
freaking horse that I could find.
That's going to be. They thought enough of her to
nominate her for the Breeders Cup.
You don't do that ahead of time unless you think you have
something and so she's Breeders Cup nominated.
I'll and I'm, this is, was that two times?
I mentioned Francisco. Yetta this week, which if he has
a day we're gonna have a day with this ticket.
So I landed on the 5-11 710 and 88 in the in the Pocahontas.
I think it's that wide open. The, the other via all all, 12
horses are Breeders Cup nominee, by the way, but not besmirching,
your take on that I've seen but I'm not sure that were purchased
for nine G's. I think like you're leaving off
a boss lady Bailey. Who's a five hundred fifty
thousand dollars purchase she's 141 and be fun and feisty sure I
do Don't can't remember. Did you say jet-setting who's
Frenchy and Brad Cox? That's I did hard.
Not one for one. It's hard for me to leave that
horse out there. So when I started thinking
about, like, should I hit the all button?
I mean, this is about as wide open as a Pocahontas as you're
gonna as I could remember, for sure.
And that's what I was getting at I, if you go to Green Street
Racing.com, pick up the Saturday sheet.
I talked about how open, how wide open, I think this
Pocahontas is and I mentioned some horses in there as well, so
make sure you go get, that's five bucks people.
I mean it's five bucks and so And by the way, the only one
that's we are, you just say, Friendly Persuasion is a very
great gate. Yeah, you talked about kind of
persuasion, I did not talk about, do you didn't?
That's other area. I mean there's another episode
narrow gate breaks your maiden at at Indiana by seven at a
quarter legs. Yeah, it is their ass all over
the place. Yeah, absolutely.
It's gonna be an awesome race. I, that one is as unpredictable
as possible. I looked for a pleasure in this
race, because usually pleasure ships in a perfect spot for
Phillies, she didn't have anybody.
So I kind of Hurt my feelings. All right, I'm gonna bring Zach
I'm here because that shirt. Listen his shirtless body
deserves his shirt. Plus it is our birthday episode.
We should tell Zach, thank you very much for everything he
does. You are the third generation of
show producers if you don't have, So we got to give a huge
table boy. Hey boy, JT J, DM, n JD, I'm
sorry. You got to get that shot out.
Got to give a shout out to Megan.
I mean yeah. God, I just love to Megan and
everybody's been a part of the journey.
Yep, we did. We ran out of time for Ron
flatter today so I apologize for that.
Rachel also stiffed us, but that's okay.
So Rachel stepheson, we ran out of time to bring wrong bladder
on, but Zach it's been a pleasure to have you on the
show. A show and exact another fan
story, really? I mean, it's another fan.
You bleeding what we want to do and want to help out and so we
brought him on brought him on the team.
All right, so quick story so Zach where we had 53 been.
So we did great holy I got plenty of time.
So So Zacks going to get married, he meets this girl.
And I know, you know, you, you know, you've reached a level of
Friendship with a guy when he's met a girl.
And he says, I really want you to meet her.
And and so I'll call her baby so he you know, he's okay.
I met this girl, her name is be and I want you to meet her and
I'm like, yeah, of course. And she's nervous when she meets
you. And as I've gotten to know her,
I imagine she's very uh, nervous in most of her life.
And so Zach had talked me up to this point where was like it's
like this is the guy, you gotta get my critical.
I might have to bail, I kill whole thing like for sure and by
right, it's 100% true. Okay, so sex like hey, I'm
getting married, Zach has three brothers and he was like, Hey,
we've got a rule. You can't have a brother as your
best man at the wedding. Can you come be my best, man?
I was Yes, it's like we're like two weeks out from the wedding
and calls a cab. Okay.
Toast. How much of an ass can I be?
And he's like, are you asking me that question?
Or is that just what he's like, he's like no rules man, do what
you want. I'm like are you sure?
It was like, yeah, I was like, okay, so I call be, I call her
up and I'm like, here's what I want to do and she's like, let's
go. So I get up there.
I start giving this really heartfelt toast Zacks.
This great guy. We live together in grad school.
You know, my wife was away doing her residency in med school.
So Zach moved in and we hung out was great and We can't do it.
I'm like, And then what I did was I was like, you know, exact
size really great guy and he does this this, and this and
then and then be with tap me and I would lean in and I would have
the mic right next to my face and I go.
What's that Zach's? Not a clean guy.
You could do his apartment. It's a pigsty.
Oh, I'm so sorry. Okay, no never mind.
That doesn't matter. So, uh, so the good thing is
Zach is going to graduate from Indiana, which is awesome, and
it's going to be great for, and she tells me, I'm like what's
wrong now, You went to Penn State.
I went to Michigan State and they're both academically rank
better than Indiana in the world rankings.
And I did this like three or four times and increasing sexist
attitudes, 66 times. So this is before, things went
viral. Like, if x went viral like this
would have been tell you my favorite one.
Let's of my favorite one. Is he goes, well, at least you
all are going to have beautiful. Kids be wonderful, you're
beautiful. And then she Taps him and he
leads down. What's that?
Those are his brothers over there.
Oh, that's true. Yeah.
How's it going to like it just kept going and we literally we
get I get to like number six and there's just these this grown in
the audience have the people are laughing.
Half the people are groaning and his stepdad goes.
Okay, Louis we get it, we get it.
And I we had to cut it off made. Where was that wedding?
What was the name of that property?
Valley View. Country Club.
Baby owned by Art Donovan. Yeah, we hung up I drank with
our Donovan at the bar, right? We did we did we got to sit
there. Drinking bourbon with art
Donovan for a half-hour and it felt great.
Yeah, absolutely was perfect. Yeah, I love that.
He owns that property and he's like, I'm also going to just
show up to your wedding. That's four, that's fantastic,
right? So that was a hilarious thing,
is that? Okay, so he owns the property
but his house is on the property.
Yeah, he would literally walk from his house to Valley View's
Thank you daughter, and let you buy his drinks.
Yes, yes, right, exactly. Oh, yeah.
It's a plate. And he's eating at my wedding.
The cool thing. So, Zach and I have been to a
couple, a couple of horse races together, but I have to say,
Zach and I were at both the American pharoah, Preakness and
the justify Preakness together. Three, awesome.
That's baller stuff, man. That's right.
And then Zach, of course, came in.
He was our runner this year for the show at Derby here in
Louisville, which was awesome. And frankly, you did a great job
and And made sure that all of us were taken care of.
And so we will coming in for Breeders Cup, we are hoping Zach
will be there for Breeders Cup. Yeah, so we're working on that
as well. And you can see Dan Issel with a
shirt on and if you want to support, if you appreciated the
dad bod stuff, make sure you're watching the show on Spotify
because you, this is the only place we can get that videos on
the spot. If I didn't, go back areas to
our Twitter feed and watch the replay there to question, and if
you want me to put it on. So, All right.
We'll we'll pay the tab Louis. It's been pretty awesome, right?
Keep this train rolling, right? I can also give my fans.
I described by the way, I described, by the way on air
today. Our first episode you, and I sat
in front of a laptop and just talked.
Yeah. Pretty much.
And, and then we were part of the Spotify video rollout and
that probably shouldn't have happened.
There have been unbelievable. People that have realized your
shot Kimberly, by the way. 100% Kimberly, just one of the best.
The guys over at Churchill Darren and Kevin have been
awesome to us. The guys that 680.
Yep. Aw just said Andy and Drew and
all the guys I mean everyone over there that have just said,
do our coverage. We trust you we do you're going
to do a good job. I'm gonna give y'all the EJ man.
I mean I don't even know what's good for ya Elaine thanks a lot.
Absolutely. I mean guys like GD Hieronymus
whoo, Great ass to Keeneland Glocks and who doesn't like you,
but he loves me. Grossman for horse racing at me,
our people have no idea who the hell I am, because you shouldn't
have any idea who the hell I am, but just nuts what'd to come on
quickly and congratulate you guys on three years on the Pod,
really, really huge milestone. Really happy for you guys that
thanks for letting me play a very, very small part of that,
with the ESPN Louisville shows for Derby and the Breeders Cup.
Going back to the covid restricted year 2020.
At Churchill Downs, the Keeneland and the Breeders Cup
and the 2021 Derby as well. Where, you know, I thought you
guys fixed the entire day and then I just had to throw every
cent. I had on Tis the wall and blue
there was Grossman blew it on to his Loft.
By the way, what are the best stories that we've had as a
podcast? Mike and I drive through
together, Mike, I always go to Derby together in the car and
usually it's like Louis drives, a knocks, Mike drives on Derby.
Something like that and I'm just really drives.
This is usually what it was but usually that's what it's like
lately. And I treat more than you, it's
very strange. Anyway, the that year, I mean
there's there's the on the the unrest going on downtown.
Yes, there's covid it. So they just cancel fans and
Like no, no you guys could still be here.
And you know as we talk about the third anniversary show here
Mike, I mean, the things that we've gotten to do, it's pretty
crazy to be at the covid Derby. Yeah, I mean we were that's it
even that Breeders Cup at Keeneland.
They're like we want to be at that Breeders Cup.
Well there's yeah 3,000 people at the whole thing, right?
And that was way more than I was at the Derby.
We were radio, row it at Breeders Cup.
That's the thing. Yeah, we were the only
broadcasting radio for Derby. In 2020 is doesn't Tim Sullivan.
Tip Sullivan's walking around. It doesn't even have a job
anymore. The pork right?
We're going to have him on soon because I like him a lot, but I
just It's been an unbelievable ride with this show, that we
start this in September of nineteen.
And then in September of 20, were the only radio show at
Derby. That's insane.
And that's a credit to Drew. That's a credit to Andy the guys
at 680, that said, go you get the credentials, go.
And if people have seen the picture of me with a yellow bow
tie and a blue shirt, Holding a mint julep at the 2020 Derby
that Jewel of bottle, passed through a National Guard gun
post, which is very. That's a big call, your plug
your ears daring. Yeah, I think I think the folks
over there know exactly what that year was that they got it,
they got that race off at all, is pretty remarkable.
It was also one of the great. I mean, frankly, that stretch
from between authentic, it is laws one of the great Derby
stress rounds of all time. Yeah, because there's only two
horses, there's no one else. I mean, I don't even remember
who finished their that your I'll be honest.
It's what a great can I just say?
Aye Of all those people at Churchill Downs, from the guys
who are man, who kind of look over the media section at the
very front, they always are so good to us.
You know, my girl trouble in the in the field.
Of course. What are we doing?
I love trouble. She takes care of us too.
And just like, you know, we just all those people who work in
Derby. Just means so much to them.
And you know, I want to remind people that Dan Issel jumped on
shirtless tonight. I just, I mean, probably what
are the seventh best basketball players that pole?
Old, bad dips. Like I just, I want everyone
understand that guy's the king of Keeneland and like, he's just
like, you know what Louise, like, hey, you should consider
being shirtless by the way. When I asked him, he didn't
respond, I didn't respond. All right, they just shows up
our it's been an hour. Let's let's just pay the tab.
Let's get out of here. We're gonna go on, we're gonna
go on for at least three more years.
Absolutely. And we're gonna get bigger and
better. So, thank you guys for listening
Center. Has issued an alert during happy
hour time.
