All right, welcome to another episode of the horse-racing

happy hour Mike, and off a lawyer bow.

Hey Mike, I've had, I've had a good day Louis.

We've had a good start to a good start to lint.

Okay, I'm in my workout clothes right now.

Look at you. I mean, I showered for this

thing and it showed up, you know, like like the Italian that

he is, he's in a sweat suit. It is what it is.

Only two jokes, you can still make an America Italian jokes

and short jokes, but we are the most oppressed people You have

great hair. So go to hell.

Thank you. Billy give a shout-out to our

beer sponsor tonight, butcher time Brewing.

Yeah, just east of downtown so we figured Waba little Imperial,

guava little gluten-free guava colada or white know what to

expect here. But this is the most expensive.

Are you fan of pretty beer? Well, this is a sour so the

answer is absolutely okay. Yeah, pretty excited.

All right, we'll enjoy your sour.

I will they be a tailspin Alphas has Fest this weekend?

Absolutely. Yes.

That'll be next Saturday. Not the fence.

That's right next Saturday. That's that's a that's a big

deal, I guess, I'm just, you know, I enjoy.

Like it's really interesting with me and beer.

Okay, I do. I'm not an IPA guy at all.

Okay, that's not me. I either like them, super, super

dark and toasty. Or I like we're like the Gianna.

We had a couple weeks ago. Lady.

That was awesome. That was fantastic.

I really like doing that. The next two weeks were getting

back to that as our base because I do think that's kind of their

Flagship. I think it's a very good there.

So, and then the Reds, I like the Reds member Amery.

Oh yeah, look at that. Looks like grapefruit juice.

So like a protein shake, there's some semen there.

What's going on? Whoo.

Hey baby, you like it? Huh?

I do like it. I love us our gear though.

So, if you like a sour, this is a guava colada.

I don't know if this will even be up and he's like having Sour

Patch Kids. I will tell you they are right

across the walkway at at the Mellwood art psychedelic, no

Mellwood Art Center City, College Mellwood art center from

Danny, Mac's pizza, man. So that's a nice top if you

stand out. So I will be, I will be speaking

at the mode Arts Center, one week from today.

Don't don't go to that. What you talking about?

What are you talking about? I'm I'm doing someone's having

me speak at a conference. Uh-huh.

It's a national conference. It just happens to be movable.

I'm actually like I think I'm the only thing.

There's two speakers from Louisville which is an unusual.

They don't usually have speakers from the home plate town.

So just happened to be my place. Yeah, yeah, doing doing a

little, you know, execution, real estate, talk some 12 here,

stuff. You know that?

Well, execution will take a people out little another

Italian joke, there, people don't know, again, a podcast,

Focus takes you in, you know, Listen to that.

If you want to had a great interview with Derek Anderson,

not too long ago. Danis will be on soon sooner

sooner than later. Danis will be on Bob baffert

allele guess who I'm hoping yeah I mean he got his result which

it was not the result. He won it from the court.

Ruling Louis would say you are you you think good or bad?

Let me just read some highlights reel before we go on to par.

Okay. So this is some of the notes

from Jennings report Jennings said that Jennings of Is the

judge, by the way, that preferred his attorneys failed

to carry their burden to demonstrate to the court.

Should impose a preliminary injunction against CDI

suspension. And she went further on to say

that failing to punish trainers, use horses, test positive, our

key races could harm CD eyes reputation at the Integrity of

the and the Integrity of the races.

What say you Louis, I think it's zero tolerance, and here we are.

I just, I don't know. I also don't understand how to

read the rules about Out things that are injectable and not

injectable. And that was obviously part of

the conversation here. I thought they would come to

some sort of agreement that there's the gray area on the on

the injectable part of it and that they would have figured out

something like they did for the Preakness last year where his

horses get tested beforehand. But obviously that's not

happening. And Tim jock teams-- running

horse in the rebels. I thought the same honestly like

I felt like I do think there was some ambiguity like I think that

At the end of day to be unclear as to be unkind.

And when, you know, when there's a drug like this, that can be

taken so many different ways and used for so many different

things. Yep, it could.

But it was, it said, Zero Tolerance at the end of the day.

Some point about it. Yeah.

I think he, you know, he paid his price last year, so I'm glad

I'm on the record. I think if he doesn't do the

media to her, I think, if he doesn't walk out of that, barn

on that Sunday and pointed, Jenny, grease can say, what's

true? Whats better eBay, it's all old

teacher. His own.

I think, if he doesn't do those things, it's one year and then I

was told the other day by someone at ESPN 680 that the the

technical language has at least two years.

Oh wow. Oh, so the two years is actually

in the rule, the ban was two years and so he got the minimum

is what you're saying, right? And that CDI has the ability to

make it longer than two years. I don't see that happening.

I don't think that's, I think for Derby 150.

That's not what you want. And so I think they're going to

Blow it out next year and that is not the way that they want to

approach it. But because I do want to say

that in the Olympics in human Sports, if you are taking a

steroid for a medical reason, you have to give notice before

you participate in the race. So if he had, no no reason to

cheat is what he keeps saying that he was using it for a

fungal infection. Why not tell the Derby before?

I say listen, we're applying this medication, we want to make

sure rash or whatever. Sure that were we know this is a

banned substance. We want to make sure we're in

the line. Can we test before can we settle

down? Like you don't have to hide it?

You can you can well and I think part of the issue and I totally

give you exact because I've made that point last time.

I think when they when you have athletes compete at that level

of like, you know what the rules are, but part of the issues have

always been is that the rules are so different all over the

country, they're not uniform at all.

And then at the end of the day, it's kind of like, you know,

when people talk about, hey there's no alcohol allowed at

this event, but everybody's got alcohol, like, you know, the at

the not saying that everyone's doing it.

So, it was okay. It was just like it wasn't being

enforced, right? And then all of a sudden were

choosing to enforce it. And you know it's like when

these days are going to start catching Speeders again around

Louisville, you know, I don't know if that's ever going to

happen or not, not me sooner. No, yeah, it's going to happen

and all sudden this Oh, that's that's actually a law.

We're going to enforce now, speaking of which, I got an

Italian speeding ticket, the middle, You deserve it.

I mean think about thinking about rules and Sport right?

Yeah. Lance Armstrong used banned

substances before they were banned and the French band took

alway all his wins because they said because their rules specify

that they don't care if it gets banned in the future.

If it ever gets paid and that's the price of a used it, it's a

French thing like We people need I mean I get it.

NASCAR horse racing basketball, you know football whatever.

Everybody's trying to come as close to the line as they can to

win these races but if your top of the sport, your Lance

Armstrong, your Bob baffert you know you're tired galliani.

Yeah. Right.

Like or I read Ortiz, right? Like you can't you you have to

understand that people are looking for anything to do this

to ban you. Give you this type of stuff

because it takes you out of the sport.

It's in the interest of the other teams to have feigned.

Like, oh my God, I can't believe he cheated look.

Yeah, right. You were doing the exact same

thing you just didn't get caught.

I do think is unfortunate though that you know horse Racing's

most recognizable figures not going to be allowed on there,

you know, on the biggest stage. So, so but it is what it is,

right? So all right, let's go ahead.

Start, talk anything else you want to add it to?

Any of that? Kind of fun stuff.

No, did I get my dream job today?

Louis, did I get my dream job? What does that mean?

Did I get paid for my dream job today to coach chip host the

postgame? Oh, I thought that was the gay

prostitution thing. Know, there's an eye for you.

Oh sorry. That was a different

conversation. I'm sorry.

That was yesterday. Yeah.

No, I think you do man, it would you congratulations?

It's thank you. Well, I mean it's not I'm just

filling in so we'll see how it goes because I'm just going over

the next three days. Yes, So, you know, doing a

little UK, postgame the basketball coach Jimmy gets to

shine a little bit in the UK, postgame shows on the ESPN 680.

I'm excited about do the next three games.

I think I'll be a lot of fun, so hopefully they keep their

momentum going and get some, get some positive things to talk

about. Yeah.

So you know, and we always talk about like on the show.

If your listing all over the country you can listen to Louis

from 10 to noon Eastern on the ESPN 60 app or iHeart radio.

And you can listen to me after kentuckians on that same thing.

So I'm sure a couple of days ago, one of our most streamed

programs is the Kentucky fish and wildlife post game show

which right. Right.

Mike and offo quote, I used to rub betamethasone all over my

fingers. Yeah.

All right. Let's talk about the Risen star.

We're going to start, because I'm supposed to go in sequential

order and the show. She is what I heard.

Is that correct? Or the exact change and go to

live, ladies first? All right, here we go.

We're gonna go with the Risen star here.

Coming toward the quarter pole. It's Harlow Camp as to Phil's

wounds up on the outside toward the rail.

Looking to stay the space as they stream for home is

determinedly with under a quarter of a mile to run coming

down to the final, Furlong to Phil's Harlow.

Cap something to gets through toward the inside as they come

down toward the final sixteenth getting between horses, angel of

Empire and father out, this tappets Conquest is also most

during a late rally past the 16th and here's angel of empire

for Luis saez Angel. All of empire in the Risen star

Stakes. Angel of Empire has won it from

some Thunder. All right, so if you had Angels

vampire, of course we talked about the Brad Cox horses, a lot

you could have gotten Brad Cox and Luis saez at a pretty good

price, 14 21 or so yeah you nailed it.

Is that the one of the Blackhawks horses you like the

best though? He was second For Me.

Ok. In the race was about to go off.

He was the longest odds. So you went with it.

I threw 20 but or 10 bucks on. Yeah, I paid 150 160.

Remember this is a Pennsylvania bread, okay?

Who prior to that? Broke his Maiden at Horseshoe?

Indianapolis comes back at Kentucky Downs.

When they try them and he wins it allowance going against

winners for the second time. Back up the Horseshoe runs in

the Smarty Jones, second in a listed Stakes at Oaklawn and

comes back and wins here in, excuse me, in the Risen star.

I don't know how many times we have to say this Mike, but there

is a changing landscape especially for Trainers in this

part of the country. Where if you used to look at

well he broke his Maiden, that X track.

It doesn't mean as much as it used to.

Now it still matters of horse breaks, his Maiden going Milan

is 64 120 km. Churchill.

That's probably a very serious horse.

Absolutely, but Red Cross got a he's got a spread out as Barn,

right? And and horseshoes.

One of those places, he's got a team up there that he really

likes. And so, once in a while the

Pennsylvania bread that he doesn't quite know about is

going to go up there, he's gonna break his baton on.

First, ask I've been trying for a bunch of Don't add up a

Kentucky Downs. None of that does work.

Go back up to Horseshoe win the race.

And then immediately try mental listed Stakes does really well

against against that kind of company.

Gets that experience. We talked about that last week

that goes out and wins this one running style to win the Derby.

I'm not sure I need to see it again.

This is another one of those horses where, you know, like a

rocket can or out of them. I think there's a lot at this

point, that aren't Arabian night that I think we need to see it

again. Well, you know how I feel about

like I want you to be on the feet as at the bezel

three-year-old. Sure.

So that would be. He lost on January 1st.

Had he run on December 31st job. I don't know why but listen,

Daddy was rather disappointing after the Arkansas Derby.

So, He's a classic Empire, so one classical Park courts.

One, that Arkansas Derby came in as the Derby favorite and then

lost to always dreaming because it.

Yeah. So there you go.

Let's talk about some of the other horses in here.

I was actually impressed for a while about the way Harlow

Kapoor, and I'm not sure if I look at Carla cap looks to me,

like it could be a mile. Is that go ahead and queue that

back up? I want to watch this again

because I think there's a couple of horses that you're matching.

Keep talking like you're doing a good job, keeping up.

Well thankfully thank you Louis like like all the positive I'm

after Actions that we're getting today.

No, no, I agree with you. We're getting to the point

especially with 50 points, 100 points.

Hang on one second, Zack where other performances, we have to

pay attention to because we're building towards something,

right? And now, we're kind of see where

by goes, right? Yeah.

Yeah, yeah. In the same way that when we

talk about, you know, running in the whole Ebola coming out of

the Kentucky, Jockey Club, something like that, we're

seeing it in a more direct way with these horses are three

years already. Go ahead.

So yeah. So I thought, I thought Harlow

cap looked way better than I anticipated.

I paid that he would early on sure, fail to weigh it, you

know, Drew back a little bit. Looks like he could be a really

good model or horse in my estimation to Phil's ran the

race. I think that most people thought

we would probably see out of two Phil's finishing second or third

probably about, right word, we thought would happen

disappointed in Victory formation.

Would you think about Victory formation?

Um I think it's a lot. You know, we had you know we had

the sniper would vary on a couple weeks ago and he talked

about something and I needed. I needed to hear it from someone

who wasn't me. And he was totally right that at

this point, expecting horses at 925 to show up early in their

three-year-old. Season is it's sort of silly but

it's a it's not a it's not a winning way to make money on the

Derby Trail, right? And so that's why, in my mind, I

had four horses that I thought could win this race.

He was one of them for sure. Hmm But once I got 42 one on the

Brad Cox that I like that's why I went with the BET, right?

I think he'll be fine. I think that that's a horse in

the right. Barn and victory formation can

come back. Either either all the

fairgrounds trailer, maybe moving to Oak Lawn or move him

to, you know, another place my senses, they'll keep them the

fairgrounds because that seems to be a safe space for her.

Brad Cox for his for his 3 year olds.

And so I think he's probably fine.

I was more worried about like a top, tap its Conquest who we've

heard all this Buzz about and I thought just really did fire and

and you know this is a wind star R and forth and that risen star,

you know, you would like to see a little bit more out of What's

considered to be one of the better Brad Cox versus he wasn't

in the top two for me but I don't know.

There's a lot of Buzz about that horse going into the race is a

collectible that one. Yeah.

Can you pull that out right back up for us because I agree with

Mike I think are low cap started to show something because if I'm

not mistaken. Is this his first time routing?

Yes. I believe that's true.

Okay. All right, go ahead. as to

Phil's warms up on the outside toward the rail, looking to stay

the spaces, they stream for home is determinedly with under a

quarter of a mile to run coming down to the final, Furlong to

Phil's Harlow, cap something to gets through toward the inside

as they come down for the final sixteenth getting between

horses, angel of Empire and father out, this tappets

Conquest is also most during a late rally, has the 16th and

here's angel of empire for Luis saez, Angel of empire in the

resist, our steaks, Vampire has won it from some Thunder to

Phil's, third tablets, Conquest. Fourth, single ruler was fifth

so that running Style He's going to have to get to a spot where

he's more stalking than he is mid-pack back in the pack that

he was in this race in the same way that I think it's a coffee

is up against the pole in the office for sure.

Fill in the actual Derby. I think that there's a spot here

where he's probably gonna have to run of Milan 16th in the

previous Race, by the way. Okay.

All right. Sorry.

Yeah. And so I think with Oh my gosh.

Angel of Empire. Excuse me.

Now, with Angela vampire. You get to see.

You're going to see in the next spot here with him.

Either Louisiana Derby wherever he runs Is he able to be in

second third and that kind of field.

So, that in the derby, he's in fifth or sixth right.

Coming around the turn and he said, a spot where you can

really Pals. I will just see.

I one of the reasons I put him second is because of Luis saez.

I think Louis is right now is seeing tracks as well as anyone

in the country. He's, he's completely on fire,

especially with younger horses. And so, loo size is a name to

watch right now. Absolutely, absolutely always is

right. And the only other horse that

was kind of just I was Curly Joe Whelan.

This is all gone - yeah. 9%, beard Banger.

No alcohol. This is unbelievable.

I was a little disappointing curly Jack's performance but

just kind of watching how things are gonna unfold as we as we

move forward. I'm probably not as excited as

far as the Louisiana track to the derby right now, horse the

horse that I didn't like in this race and I think I think

probably just maxed out is to Phil's.

That was another horse. We've heard a lot about.

I didn't really what we thought was gonna do, right.

Right. Yeah it, what's interesting

about a horse like that is I think he's going to be able to

pick up third and fourth place points.

Hmm, going forward. And so that might be a horse

that we end up seeing, in the started, 12:35 32 1.

It's exactly right. And he might be the kind of

horse that feels like you're super fucked up every day.

Absolutely that definitely makes you be at.

So right now, it's Brad. Cox is we're looking at the

Louisiana Derby prop, Possible's, got of course, Brad

Cox has also got instant coffee. So do you run instant coffee and

Angel of Empire against each other and that Reiki spread?

Um, yeah, you can't because Angela already has 54 points.

So he's actually passed that 50 that 50-point, Mark.

Yeah. So Angels vampire puts you

firmly in the field. Absolutely.

He's running in the derby, if he's healthy.

Okay. Okay.

Well let's move on to the to the Rachel Alexandra now.

A tricky Zack. Rachel Xing tell.

Her sure. Philly, guesswork you on the

floor outside. She's making for path, progress.

Hoosier, Philly. The meantime, fava comes up the

rail. Miracle straightens them past

the quarter pole in front. That's your socks off his last

three quarters in 1 minute. 13. .05, S, miracle tackled by

pretty mischievous. Pretty mischievous has nosed in

front here, for Tyler Gaffney own.

It's a shirt made. It's pretty mischievous leaning

in on Miracle as they come past. The 16th Hoosier phileas third

but well beaten pretty mischievous just in front from a

game here, at Cole, pretty mischievous, pretty mischievous,

trimming out and beats Miracle by 3/4 of a length and the

Rachel, oh, I think it's safe to say that.

Here's your feelings, probably not in the Derby track anymore.

Yeah, that's her say, but the other part of this though, is I

mean, say what you want about pretty mischievous?

She wins you on tappable comes back wins this one.

This is a good dolphin home bread.

I mean, this is, this is not a, this is not a nothing, you know,

sort of horseshoes. Now, number one in the Oaks

rankings and because of the nature of the Oaks qualifying at

63 points, she's in the Starting Gate of she's healthy, right?

Yeah. Absolutely.

That's where we are. And and frankly, I don't know if

she's the favorite favorite, but I want to remind people that

that was Tyler up and you get Tyler at Churchill Downs with a

really good horse. That's, that's a recipe for

something very, very positive. And so I if he ends up on her

for for the Oaks itself on front on that Friday and she continues

to improve, she's absolutely a contender right now.

Now does Wonder Wheel look like Everything that we want

probably? Right.

Could probably not. You think probably, as you

probably not. Who's your Filly bounce back?

Right? What is the second off the

layoffs? We think, but maybe she is more

like Cults. I mean, all of our workouts are

great but they're all five furlongs or for furlough, excuse

me, and maybe she was, she was really good in eighth grade and

now she's not going to high school.

I don't know you know and I think to think that because the

horse we saw last year good God she could develop into a

three-year-old, should should be the next are getting up or

something. Oops.

I mean that's who she should be for sure.

Well aging nailed it when she was on the show last week.

Yes, she looks. She looks super thin Sheila.

Gangly like she how she's going to her?

She did not. I don't think she physically

looked like the same horse we saw in in the Goldenrod honest

like I feel like it looked she looked thinner.

It was the worst be figure we've seen huge or Philly run since

since she's been even even now mermaiden.

So yeah. I'll be interested in, by the

way. I think we can all agree that

chop the whole Chop Chop things. Really over.

So yeah. I that that that was probably

the thing I was most Vindicated on last week, I'm out on

chop-chop. So yeah, chop shops done.

You know, and miracles, another one though.

Louis because Miracle looked, I mean if you get if you like

pretty mischievous, it was like miracle.

Was that far behind? Miracle is right there, but

Miracle seems to be that kind, of course I like to finish

second. So you know, it is he in

Mendelssohn was her daddy so you might make sense there too.

So I don't know. The other happened last week was

Mimi. Mimi kakushi one, the UAE Oaks

Yes. And I only bring that up, not

because it's a local, but because those Japanese horses

have in recent years, shipped to the United States has done

really, really well, that's a name to watch.

If I own Mimi could shoot kakushi.

I get that horse over here ASAP ASAP.

So far what we see a Japanese bread when the Saudi I think.

So I think so too. Yeah.

I think a Japanese horse wins that race this year.

So, all right. Well, should we move on to the

handicapping section sponsored by our Add Green Sheet, raising

our good friends are Green Sheet racing or actually.

I'm sorry. I'm skipping ahead.

That's that's the third thing. You want to talk a little bit

about our top five Oaks in our top five Derby horses.

You just you made this big declaration in December that you

were going to have updated our rankings and be on top of these

things. So I thought I would pick your

brain to be fair. We just had a long conversation

about Derby nose horses. So I think I have an idea of who

we both. Like, do we both have Arabian

Night On Top? Oh, without question, I think

the biggest difference this year is I think people need to

remember last year that Forehead to disband his operation in

California as part of his 90-day ban, right.

He doesn't have to do that this year and so he's going to be on

track. So the yak teen training to me

is going to be a lot more baffert full than it was last

year. It's not going to be phone calls

and text messages and that kind of thing.

It's going to be, hey, person in the next Barn.

This is what you should do today.

Look for a successful at work out, whatever this.

So I think, I think those horses are going to be really

different. I'll talk about that. later, in

the handicapping part of the show because I have Not baffert

horse on top and one of the big races this weekend for that

reason because I think it's a very different Yak teen

experience that we had last year.

It's interesting by the way on that baffert front to like are

you getting a sense of Cave? Rock is not healthy.

Yes, that's because they have not figured out where that horse

isn't he? Is even going to go, I think

you're going to go against reincarnate, this is this

weekend which is what I'm guessing.

I'm not sure if that's the case or not.

I would agree with that 100%. I'm So heavily on Arabian night.

Like I think there's a huge difference between who's going

to be second in that. And right now, I think you said

to give it to Forte but we won't really know until what we see

coming on 14 March 4th in the fountain of youth, I think

there's a chance to the verifying comes back off a

layoff tomorrow or Saturday. Excuse me, whenever you, listen

to this and is very good and makes a case for being You know,

the Brad Cox entry for for that race track on Todd Pletcher.

Hey, you know, and they have a ton of these entries.

So are the yeah, right? And so son of justify.

We're seeing those Justified Colts run really well.

You know, they bring about of the Breeders Cup juvenile.

What I really like is they put him in an optional claimer after

that just to get his legs under him at Oaklawn.

He runs away with it. Under Martin Garcia, picks up

floral here in the in the Risen star will get to that are Rebels

accuse me. We'll get to that in a minute.

But, you know, I think there's a chance that kind of horse jumps

up, man. I'm, I really, I thought, I

think angel of Empires are my top five right now, okay?

Wow. All right, because I think that

performance is the is is a winning one and I'm still pretty

high on Rocket can man. I don't know.

I don't know if that makes me crazy, but I build.

Not right now, man. Hey man, Junior Alvarado.

They just if they run a big spots they win and I mean

between art collector and him back to back weeks at go Stream,

maybe I'm bunch of spies from watching those, but there's

something about the rocket can style that I think is a winning

style of he can keep building toward what he was doing running

in those allowance races over to turns at Churchill Downs and

then moving into that spot and winning.

They'll be interesting to see, but I'll tell you who my sneaky.

Best horse right now that I would put my top three, okay,

one first time out routing last week or two weeks ago, now, that

was litigate Okay, for Todd Pletcher.

I think that horse is a potential monster.

I think we both mentioned that on the day of the show.

So yeah I would agree with you on that.

That was one of those that I said you know and you're tired

of me saying this because you've been doing the show with me for

three and a half years but Pletcher doesn't miss place of

horses like that he did this with litigate and so to me that

is a litigator, this is a sneaky good horse, he's up over 100,000

in earnings. Of course you wouldn't say Matt

Davis but a rout Is its own, its own Beast, its own animal, but I

do think he ran well enough, that I'm going to keep my eye on

him for sure. What about the other kind of

pleasure horse? It's, you know, did not race as

a two-year-old that had a monster first time out.

That was taped at Rice. I take that back.

Cabbage rice. Did when it runs a two-year-old.

So what do you? What do you?

What do you take a cabbage rice. I'm more wait and see with him

that I am with, with a horse like, litigate for say.

Okay at this point we'll see. I look If I said you've got Cox

or Pletcher to win the Derby or the field.

Who would you take? Oh, I can have those two

trainers on the field. Yeah.

Feel because I get to be a knight in the field, okay?

All right. Yeah.

All right. Now, Ray be night still is

trained by Bob baffert just so far.

So we'll see how long that lasts.

Yeah, not very long. No shouldn't send me lots of

very long at all. I mean, I hope Starlight we move

on. Yeah, I mean, you know, he's a,

he's a down his knee. I mean, I hope so.

Yeah. All right now you're you're way

more up on the Oaks horses, probably than I am.

So what we got here? Well, I mean, I still got.

Who's your filial top? Know she can get back there but

no, that was, as ugly. A to turn run, as we've seen out

of a mega favorite in. In a big race in three or four

months. At least she looked like

Jackie's Warrior, Man. A horse.

Okay, I really liked Alice the house.

Look at various companies, you saying here's a horse.

I can't figure out who I'm going to include my tickets this

weekend because it's going to rain again in Arkansas.

Wet paint. Okay.

So Flavia proud. Floppy.

Improper Mount. Brad Cox.

Good dolphin. How often does it rain on Oaks

day? Mike, probably like half the

town. 40 48 percent of the time feels like.

Is she loves? She loves damp go.

Yeah, and so, I don't I don't have any other reason other than

her wet numbers are really good. She seems to really eat up the

slob that I'm going to keep wet paint in my top five, especially

if she shows up this weekend until she doesn't show up

because I think she's really, really good.

I'm starting to wonder if our Philly crop this year is going

to look more like our derby crop usually does.

We're two-year-old performance doesn't matter.

It's how they perform his 3 year olds of batter and that wonder

will it who's your Filly might make the Starting Gate for the

Oaks but they're not going to be the top contenders.

I thought pretty mischievous did nothing wrong.

I don't think she's not a thing wrong.

Our last two races. Now in the on tap will it was

against lesser competition but this last week it wasn't and

frankly she looked at that. Stool and you and I talked about

this love like with young horses, especially Phillies if

they want that stretches, if they want to be in the lead.

That's that's a good thing. It's something to watch and so

she I don't think she's done anything wrong that way.

I'm out on chop-chop. I do think a child's learning

over the race. That's probably right.

Yeah. A cult is an interesting horse,

okay? And I think we'll see her again

at some point with a really, really good race.

I'm trying to remember if she's, I don't think she's running this

weekend at, she's not Chad Brown, Barn washing, right,

right? And so I that's a horse that I

think on dry ground will be a lot better.

I wonder if Channel move her back to New York, to try the

races up there an aqueduct and then if Elmont, but we'll see.

But otherwise, I think think the Oaks right now is as open and

wide open as it's been Which we thought about them even that

two-year-old class when we were making our shoot, our clothes

Award votes, right? I mean that's your class is wide

open for the, for the Phillies. I mean, there's no stand out

right now, so but I mean, I've got the her plates at a seven

furlongs spray. I mean, I right.

And that's where we're at right now.

So I'll I mean, I don't mean to I don't mean upon your.

If I have a number one I mean pretty much do this is not a

back. Gracious.

I'll give it to her right now. Yeah, okay, alright, now we're

going to go onto our friends at Green.

Hey, Beulah handicapping with those guys.

And again, make sure you check out the sheet Green Sheet

racing.com. Get all your tips for the

weekend and we're going to start.

Let's see. Where do we want to start?

Let's start no fun. We're gonna do three races at

Oaklawn. We're going to then talk about

the set that you're as beautiful at Santa Anita.

And then, of course, Louis Louis is Turfway Park.

So, we're going to do this tonight trophy that's next week.

Well, that it's on. The show sheet, just letting you

know, not for me. It ain't look up top.

So there you go. Are we just going to do the

three and then the Saudi cup? I'm just, you know, I'm listen,

Zach. All we can do is follow the show

sheet. Is that right?

Well, look at the bottom, and it's not on the show shoots a

gun. All right.

So here we're gonna start with the with the carousel six.

Furlongs on the dirt, Phillies a four year, olds and up hundred

fifty thousand dollar purse. What we got here, the carousel,

it's a fun one, and I think it's, especially fun if, if it

does rain a fair amount because then I think you have to kind of

look around, Or value. I think, for example, the one

hazy command, 12:50 morning line coming off back-to-back wins

under Rafa bejarano at Oaklawn Park.

Including over muddy go and they came back over Fasco.

One at the high level allowance in the back of the optional,

claiming level gets the inside, post is going to be a balanced

Runner. So this horse is going to be

probably part of the closing speed.

So the rail position, Either doesn't matter or it really

matters to me. It doesn't matter with a writer

like Rafa bejarano, who's winning at 18% right now at

Oakland, that's a really excellent percentage given the

quality of races and frankly, the kinds of mounts.

He's actually getting down there which aren't usually great, but

for Thomas to go grab him, the two of them right now.

Hitting a 24% at Oaklawn Park, they seem to have a bit of a

trust level that horse is gone back-to-back wins.

This horse is coming in off a little bit of a layout that's a

20% for Thomas and his horses seem to go back to back a lot.

So she went back to back already, but I think it's 21%.

You'll get that again, a reminder that in Arkansas.

You can run on Lasix in stakes races.

So he's in command gets to keep Lasix.

Here is running at 124 that's really heavy for a filly, but,

um, Earth. Yeah.

And her kiss affiliation sport but she read it. 124 last time

in still manageable 110 and change 64 a longer.

That's the kind of time they can win this race.

So, although long, this might be a long shot of the day, hey Z

command. But Louise, Russian who's won

over dry and wet? Go to 42 and Oakland Park.

Last two times out, seems to love the tracks of, give me the

tiny one. I mean, pretty good speed for

years, right, so. Well, absolutely, no.

She have the capable of winning this race.

Absolutely, look. I think look, you Gary the five

Ricardo and Raquel Bruce. A absolute 243 lifetime has a 90

speed figure at the track in the muddy conditions as well in a

high-level allowance. If you were I'm going with her.

She s, you know, awful lay off your essentially ran to

December. You know, I think that she's got

a really good shot to come back and win here.

Great? Okay, 24, 32 42 at the distance.

Ya know, all those things make sense, pretty birdies in this

race coming out of the Poinsettia wins.

The point set at five and a half furlongs that was back in

December, same thing here that was over dry go.

So if it rains That's a horse that hated wet track, the only

time that she's tried it. So maybe, you know, that's

that's one that you avoid, if it's wet and then, you know,

Samurai charms in the street, Joel Rosario and Peter Miller,

Peter Miller ship in this horse in from the West Coast because

of the person ever run in Oak. Lawn has been running a great, a

company coming into this. Other floppy and prep always

within three lengths when running in those three to five

lakes within the company before that was running a xia park.

So to me that's a toss, even a321 with Joel Rosario, who I

really like. So I would leave here.

That's why I think we got a long shot here with the one he's in

command. It's crazy to think that you

know, how much Ricardo used to dominate dominate ocana, right.

He's only gotten in the last two days.

He's only got four minutes total and I was only 11 of those

races. He went one for what like eight

the day on the 18th. I mean it's he's still on The

Struggle Bus, a little bit man. It's interesting.

You know it's totally do that when you and I started the show.

Yeah, we love them. Me and I still always looking

fantastic, housewife, you know, get it done.

All right, so we'll move on to the honeybee Stakes, which is,

of course, smokes points. On the, on the board here and

part of my sequence in the sheet this week is the late sequence

at at Oaklawn Park. Okay.

And so you're going to get your wet paint in this one.

Yeah, absolutely. So the honeybee, of course, my

little 63rd, we're going for 300 K.

Here's a grade 3, obviously, for three-year-old, Phillies get

ready for the. Oh, she'll like, Mark, Mike

mentioned 50 points toward the Oaks for the winter.

And frankly, interestingly enough they've kept the point

system, 20 points per second, that could be really important

for some of the horses here, who already have double-digit points

in the standings, I laid it on wet, paint on top seven.

And that's because I expect the track to be at least damp at

least moist whatever and ran really well, last time in the

Martha, Washington over the model of 16th, what they

consider to be wet fast. I think I said before that race,

Mike, that even if it rained and that was Same day, Arabia night,

Ram that that's all Oaklawn does.

So even if it's a sloppy track, they're going to do a good job

with the track down their right. They only know, they only know

the dirt that they have. And so she came out, I thought

she performed really, really well.

Under Fabien Pratt 141. At the track that 77 speed

figure, you have to remember I didn't she beat all the horses

in this race, including taxed, including defining purpose,

who's 92, I think defining purpose is number two for me

here. I like I actually really liked

how she ran under David. Cabrera is rude.

Keeps them out here for Kenny McPeak.

I think he'd keep it going again.

If it's not as wet as it was, she did win the year-end the

years and black type Stakes. Excuse me.

Believe it or not on the 31st of December, believe it or not.

And so I have that horse in the second spot and then I landed on

the two, and the three. So I'm a touch chalky except

that, I think you have to go for widen this like towhead is the

to hear and I'm saying a lot of words like towhead and moist and

damp, and like it's what that. So, one optional claim the last

time out at the distance at the track going fast, just has run

Second Twice in sloppy conditions as well.

So it's a horse that at least has that experience.

For Mike Baker, keeps Castillo, the jockey has won two in a row.

So is in a good vein of form recently and then Grant love, I

don't quite know what to do. This is an as muhsin with Joel

Rosario, the two of them 21 percent overall, at Oaklawn Park

has one win. Ran in that BC.

Juvenile Philly was okay, was a little up the track six spent,

you know, six legs in that race. That is 6 out of 13 horses, not

the end of the world. Again, as Melissa does

everything at 18%. So coming off the layoffs, he's

18 percent, believe it or not and graded Stakes.

He's 20% route races. He's 15, dirties 18.

I mean, that's just who he is. That's the kind of horse that

just wins the race and you go. Oh yeah.

The as most ensure, so I went with four horses in this like

78223 and of course to have the last three Oaks winners have

come out of this race. See growth was last year, we'll

see who finished third in the Oaks the year before that and

she dares the devil and 20 20 see growth and will Secret, by

the way, both one and Marshall Washington, and then went on to

win. So, I would be wet paint this

year. Yeah, it could be wet, paint

could be wet paint all over the place.

Eight Bells, also a former winner of the honeybee Stakes

that are coming out of Arkansas, strong, it's always been strong

and it is it probably will remain that way this year.

I would assume. So yeah, alright.

So we're going to move on to the rebel which of course is the the

highlight of the day, this is 450 Derby points, 1/16 on For

three-year-olds a million bucks on 1 million dollars.

So we're getting to some big boy, not just the points.

We're now getting some big boy, purse money right here and we're

going to see again. I always like to see just, are

we going to get some answers, right?

So you mentioned verifying earlier, there's some answers

that we got to get out of verifying coming on that one

spot. Are we going to see John

Mischief come up and have another one?

Both of those are Brad Cox. It's like which one of these

Brad Cox horses is going. To emerge as this favorite

reincarnates, making the switch to the yachty bar, and like we

mentioned before, we'll the good magic come up.

It was interesting to me, Louis, I was looking at this race, just

like when we start seeing like we have a justify, we have a

Nyquist. We got a couple gunrunners, we

got a couple in domitius, you know, how about a good couple?

See like you've got a good magic in there, you know.

Johnny, do you know the irony of the good magic?

The good Magic win the race. He was a runner in the first

derby that you and I ever covered for idiot, right?

Because I remember us hanging out with the guy who was kind of

the hose for the owners and I think we met the owner.

Good magic and super cool where they from Minnesota.

Does that sound right to you? I don't remember but good magic.

Ran top three, man. He was, he was one of those

horses that made me look really smart.

The first time I tried this grass.

We were talking about that the other day just I think just

hanging out like just a good magic had a sneaky good career

and we were wondering yeah like that's a that's a sire that we

really 3,000 dollars. Higher fees.

Look is legit, man. That's absolutely Jim.

Puts you in the top, five percent or whatever, for sure.

So, the rebel Stakes here, I mean, you know, my favorite

Rebel winner is Omaha Beach. That was, but then Pharaoh won

this race. Curling's won this race.

What do we like here? Do we have an American pharoah

in this race? Louis do what I had legit pain

to the point that I had to, I had to stop a put my hands on my

knees when Omaha Beach, scratched out of the door.

So I know I was all. Oh oh not all right.

You said something earlier that I totally disagree with.

I think reincarnate wins this race man.

Okay and I think you just saw Arabian Night ship in from San

Anita. Run really well at Oaklawn

again. I think this is one of those

first signs does the training carry to the acting bar better

than it did. Last year, the answer in my head

is yes and the answer in my head is a lot.

Yes and so I'm going to ride Him today six on top for me and I

think you'd be wild about to look at verifying.

Who's won over the track last time out with a massive speed

figure? I mean he didn't have to do

anything, you just can't clear. He's just better sort of justify

like you mentioned. He's got to repent on the

bottom. I you know that I'm using those

two, I'm Lee, I'm leaving, giant Mischief out and I think that

that's my kind of stand of the week, is to leave a 522 horse

with. I read flying into ride because

I do think that verifying is the better.

Brad Cox horse and I think reincarnate is going to John

Velazquez is not flying in for nothing.

And so I will take six and one in the rebel and I will move on.

Okay, so you're not a giant Misha fan here at all.

It's not that I'm not at all joint, mischief and it's just

what you put a ticket together. You have to make decisions and

you have to Exile horses. I just it tells me something

that other than chasing the springboard mile money that they

thought they had to send him to Remington Park.

Hmm. Rather than keep him at a place

like Keeneland. This is another horse it again.

I just told you not to worry about this, but the broke has

made in Indiana, right? And then comes back and runs

with this. I just wonder if this horse and

by the A the workout numbers on this.

Horse are unbelievable. He looks great working out, but

if go to Milan to 16th going to turns having crowd like this,

you know, of, you know of 11 horses, is he going to be a

little bit too much and some of the class in here like verifying

as a class? Of course I mean absolutely.

And so it you know, it's just I'm going to take my chance here

with the West Coast shipper and then with the one, you know, six

months. All right, so we're going to

move on now to the the Saudi cup of course.

This is the older older horses coming to play.

Now mi 8,000 Saudi Arabia and a lot of the American shippers are

going to see where see again in a couple weeks and you know, you

and I like to watch these shippers and see what the

happen. We had a lot of talk, I don't

know. I don't know if we're going to

get a full season out of Country.

Grammar probably asking what you races and that's it, right?

That's right. Yeah, you are.

So I really liked by the way, I really like countries, I love

Country Grammar, I still feel the table.

Could be our champion horse of the Year.

Sure, that's kind of, its kind of the, there's no after

Breeders Cup show. Shows.

Yeah, that's what I said and I'm kind of sticking with it.

It's always interesting to see how these horses ship in to

these two races and then how they come out of them.

And I do think we're going to see a Japanese winner in this

race. And I'm going to go with the one

with Cafe Pharaoh, okay, Cafe? Pharaoh, I don't hit that pick.

I think if of the two American horses, I think this has been

part of tables, great year, I think Country Grammar finishes

ahead of him, okay? And not because Tape is not a

good horse or something like that.

I just think Country Grammar has experience there and he seems to

really, like, being in the Arabian Peninsula, frankly, more

than he likes being in Southern California.

And so I agree with you. I think that it's either Cafe

Farrell who's coming out of a grade 1 win.

I also, I think Sunset flash is a really interesting course,

coming out of the Gulf Cup and locally.

If he can keep some of that, some of that going as well.

Man out of that Champions Cup that.

Did you watch a Champions Cup race?

No, okay, so the Champions Cup itself were crowned Pride Win In

Crowd pride is a is an Arabian Peninsula Alum as well.

I do think if you're going to get a Japanese winner is going

to be grand prize. Okay.

So I think Kochi centanni and that team is going to have or

shouldn't on excuse me. Not since last year, Tony is

going to have the best chance of the Japanese shippers in this

case. So, I would go crowd Pride on

top. I don't hate Cafe.

Fair on the spot, though. I think that's totally Right?

But I do think that culture go grab some part of that either

second or third Insurance. Yeah, I hope and I hope they

run. Well, I mean, again, I think

Teva could have a big year trip. It's always tough going over

there. Yeah.

I think I can't remember who we were really high on last year

and the Americans just did not show up in this race last year

at all. If I remember correctly.

I think was Country Grammar, for sure.

Yeah, it could very well, could have been, yeah.

All right. Louis.

Well, your grammar last year? Saudi Arabia and they're only

listing their North American races, okay?

Thank you very much website that I'm looking at.

Appreciate you very much that I'm going to mention is it

didn't help me up. I know who you are on flatter,

you know who you are. DeRosa I also blame DeRosa.

Yes, yeah sarabande we leaves and everything falls to hell.

Oh gold your Skyline Chili to Rosa.

By the way, the last at Oaklawn go skinny top you have a mess.

Is that part of your ticket Zach?

And then I had today. Have been quiet. no, I disagree

with but you know,

Horse Racing Happy Hour
