FOY & Gotham & Felipe & Battaglia, oh my

Jon Lindo (@jonlindo60) joins the show to talk California racing. Louis picks for Aqueduct, Santa Anita, Gulfstream, & Turfway Park

Full Transcript

All right. Hey, welcome everybody.

This is Mike. And also, this is another

episode of the horse-racing, happy hour.

Oh, you're gonna switch it up today.

Now, wait a minute. We gotta, we gotta we gotta do a

little first off our special guest today.

John Lindo doing. So John bread.

L.a. what's yep? Alright.

So we all the way from California and John, Louis and I

are both. Catholics Zach is not who's our

producer, but Zach is participating with us on some

special Health initiatives that were taking during Lent.

This is your one drink of the week, right?

Yeah. I trick on the show and not at

all now. And, and John, by the way, if

you're tailgating or whatever else, you have a drink, Voice.

You know, what out here in San Diego.

I live in Carlsbad. It's a craft beers everywhere

around here. So there really is there's some

good stuff, cold craft beer, we're good to go.

I'm on that area a lot actually. So I'm familiar with a lot of

those craft beers. A really good thing of craft

beer. This is from our friends at

butcher Town, brewing in town. Here, the Gianna, this is there

there's, this is their logger kind of their Flagship.

So when people come to town for Derby, reminder butcher Town

Brewing, just east of downtown, nice spot to chop stop and get a

beer. So, I am not drinking any

calories at all. So, I'm enjoying a cigar that

Louis brought back from Puerto Rico for me.

And of course I had so far. It's good starts off.

It's my, it's my profile for sure.

And I've got my coffee because it is, it's just warm enough to

do the show, outside on the screen and pull.

Yeah, that's right. Yeah.

So, I'm enjoying Allah, make us make us jealous.

What was the weather in San Diego?

Today, we finally had some sunshine.

You we had a ton of rain out here for us in the last week or

so, but it was a high high 50s, low 60s today.

Clear blue will be A will be perfect this weekend sun will be

shining, we'll be good to go Santa Anita for the big races on

Saturday. Yeah, it was remarkable watching

that whether role in and sort of the reaction of people out

there, they canceled the card, like, six days in advance.

I've never seen anything quite like it.

How bad did it get in San Diego? Was a just rain where you were,

we had some rain out here, east of us in the mountains.

It snowed a little bit, they got, I think nine real. 99

inches of rain is Santa Anita just above their Mount Baldy.

The mountain of did they got the 60 inches of snow Wow.

Well, I've seen some of the pictures of the aquifers out

there so hopefully that helps with some of that.

So during the week John Louis is on ESPN local radio here.

All those guys on Saturday are going out to a huge Beer Fest

that we have. Are you going to the tailspin

are? I am not you're not this.

I am designated driver for the school auction on Saturday.

All right so I do whatever the opposite of the beer festival.

You're actually I was wondering what kind of peer pressure.

You were going to get to break your drink.

Have it out. So, it's, yeah.

I got academic team in the morning, of course.

Yeah. So I got to watch a bunch of

ten-year-olds. Take tests and then, then I'm

doing the, the school fundraiser.

So there you go. Yeah, he did.

They, he said, take watch 10 year olds take tests, not watch

ten-year-olds testes. I just want to make sure that

was such a great career on that one too.

We just want to make sure so, especially in a day where we're

going to talk about horse. That's name.

Should have Bowie. Should have booty.

Hang on, I think we're now explicit.

Yeah, okay. Well, that's just the name of

the horse. Well, sure.

Itty-bitty. Okay, her name is should a

booting should have booty. Yeah, all right.

She's running to the aqueduct. It is what it is, people.

It's all right, we're gonna be okay.

All right, well, let's get into it.

And let's talk about the week that was because that's where we

usually start off. And we're going to go out

because in Zach wants to make sure that I follow the show

sheet and don't give them any surprises whatsoever.

So we're going to talk about the honeybee first.

No, I'm just joking. We're going to talk about

Confidence Game in the rebel so let's watch this replay real

quick. It's Jeff Confidence.

Game is 3D to back to gun. Pilot Talladega is next.

Reincarnate still has a long way to come and giant Mischief off.

The top of the turn is joined by Longshot Confidence Game and

confidence game is now a length and a half in front.

Reincarnate is trying to split horses to the outside and red

route, one from the back of the pack.

It is Confidence Game. Red route, one moves into second

Confidence. Game red Route, One Confidence

Game. I am his voice crack in the

middle of that. He went through.

Puberty on the stretch run. That's okay.

Okay, by the way, yeah, he's out for the weekend, he's having

some personal sir personal stuff going on and so fully able to

bounce back. But yeah.

Now John how much do you take in these preps when the weather is

the way that it is wet paint? For example, they were going to

watch in the honeybee has gone back-to-back terrific

performances in the slop. It rains half the time on Oaks

and Derby. Do you take much from those

preps? Well, that's the thing, you

know. No, you're going to get wet,

weather Churchill Downs that week whether it be the races,

the races themselves, or during the training if you show you can

handle a wet track and especially at Oaklawn which is

relatively similar to the track at Churchill Downs.

You can check that off the list of things that you have to do.

So anybody that can handle it, especially, of course, on the

west coast like reincarnate, he ran third in there.

We don't even get a train on a wet track in California anymore.

So to get on it, ship out there, handle a wet track and

everything else that that he learned a lot that day, how do

you think he did you think? He bounces back runs.

Well, what do you think is next? Start is, I don't know.

You know, Bob baffert it was a bob, baffert horse.

Now, Timmy octene and they have so many of those horses by the

same ownership, they'll spread them out around the country

depending on who's doing well, what week it could be anything

from, he could come back for the Arkansas Derby, he stay for the

Santa Anita Derby. He could go to Kentucky for the

Bluegrass. Who knows?

It just depends on what the others do.

They've got a number of horses running this weekend as well.

So we'll see, but at least now he's shown, he can ship he can

handle. On a wet track and you know, I

think he ran really well. He learned a lot.

He's always been on the lead out here.

He got behind horses. Ate a lot of mud and still came

running. Yeah, that that's what stood out

to me. Is he got a ton kicked in his

face and he ran along just fine. So I agree with you.

I think that once in a while they need that experience.

Last year, we watched the Kentucky, Jockey Club turned

into a great predictor for this part of the year with with

happy. Oh my gosh.

Run Happy's right. Child.

Happy on why the Barrio and those sorts of horse.

That ran that to turn at Churchill Downs.

Came back red wall in the spring.

Maybe this is a catalyst for him.

I get a little dirt as face running in not necessarily first

position. Like John talked about not being

on the lead in able to still put in a good run.

I think it's gonna be interesting to me because I like

if I was trying to figure it out, maybe I knew horse was kind

of in position to get some points.

You know, do I put them in the Louisiana Derby?

And if they don't get the points there, I still have a chance to

run them in the Arkansas because you had the three weeks split

between the races or two. Split between the races you

could, you could still pull it off, that kind of stuff to will

be kind of fast. We saw, who did that last year?

We saw horsin around that, that Keeneland race.

Three weeks before the Derby, right?

Yeah, right. Yeah.

I'm like, I can't believe who was either.

So, yeah. Bring it up.

Well, it's okay. But more importantly, though,

you know, horse like verifying, who comes in fourth.

Yeah, so you know, I'm a big believer in the in the mr.

White's strike system which we have not, it had Jennifer

wishon. I guess the last couple years

because it's been so weird. We talked about alternately Rich

strike, not part of the strikes. That's no no yeah ever since I

John Asher passed away, we can't have a normal door ready.

It's like the curse of John Asher Williams over Churchill

Downs, but I do think like The Undefeated, as a three-year-old

things, a big deal and do you take anything away from

verifying with it being a sloppy track.

The only part about the verifying run that doesn't

bother me, is that? It's first off the lay off the

track is super off. I think sometimes horses just

need to Get a race. I think there's a chance that

that's the case for him, but we see over and over John

especially with colts for some reason that transition from 2 to

3 is really, really hard for the top Colts from, you know, being

the bestest two-year-olds and then they get to the

three-year-old class. They're just not as good.

Well it just depends some mature early some, take a little bit

longer. Yeah.

I like to see a step forward first time out as a

three-year-old. You know, you want to see these

horses, maybe they filled out a little bit.

Gotten a little bigger, a little stronger, and the other ones,

you know, if they kind of plateaued, if they don't move

forward, then the other guys are catching Not.

So, I agree. You want to see a step forward

as soon as possible. I filled out a little bit, did

you? Yeah, I think, yeah, he can eat

grade. I'm twice the twice a day and my

wife Mary is there. Anyone at the top of the Derby

standings that you think is is interesting.

John, I know you and I weren't going to get too deep into this

but, you know, Confidence Game moves to the top.

I was really impressed with with angel of Empire, a couple weeks

ago or are you more of a let's get to those other point races

before I really get too deep into this?

As far as a horse is from out here where I'm based in

California, you know, they're really not getting serious till

March and April. I mean, again the horses that

the majority of the good three rolls out here were all in the

Bob. Baffert stable.

So now they've been most of the men disperse, the ones that are

going to different Barnes. Now, they're going to get

serious and try and qualify for some points will see where

Arabian night shows up. Next, you know, he was good

winning down down in Arkansas and it just depends that we're

playing catch up a little bit out here with the weather too.

You know, they haven't been able to work out at Santa Anita for,

it'll be eight days. They'll be able to work tomorrow

for the first time since last Thursday.

What kind of impact do you think it has when you have a horse

that goes from Bob, average Barn to 10-yard?

Teams bar know me. Do you feel like it's a big

deal? I mean, is there a huge impact?

And I wanted to ask, is it, does it feel different this year?

Because I mean, Derby training. Last year, was part of the

90-day ban, where baffert couldn't even have a stable that

at, yes, true this year. He's on the grounds at Santa

Anita, at least, you think. He's, I'm not saying he's

training the horses but he's got to be way more involved in last

year. Well again, you know, on the

record he's completely plea that out of the loop but he can be on

the ground. He can watch those horses work.

Okay. She's just not supposed to give

any advice or you know, talk to those guys but Timmy our team

was his assistant for so many years.

He knows what the whole process, what they're trying to do, how

they train their horses and he watches those horses trained

when they're in the backward, stable.

So he knows what to do with those horses.

I don't know, Louis. I think things get real this

weekend because we're going to see Forte and of course, that's

when we start, you know, start to see you Forte array, be nice,

you know, rocket can come back off of a really good holy Bowl

performance. Yeah, I'm sorry about.

I think there's, I think that's San Felipe is loaded to, so, I

know, I absolutely think you're right that we're going to see

more and more of the, of the high-end quality that we're

going to see, come May Arabian night.

If you had a gun to your head, sort of just pick one is rainy

night on top of you right now. I love him.

By the way. Yeah, he's the best one I've

seen so far. All right, I thought he was

dominant winning down again. He shipped out here are handled

a wet track. When he went down to Arkansas,

he checked off an awful lot of boxes.

I don't know if we're going to see him before the Santa Anita

Derby. He did not work this past week,

so the next time he works, it'll be two weeks between workouts.

I don't think I'll be running in the next couple of weeks.

He was the star of Breeders Cup Saturday besides flight.

Line of you ask me the worst kept secret in America.

I mean it was unbelievable. It was fun being there on real.

I've got to see him. Yeah, I was incredible.

All right Zach, let's move on to the honeybee.

Thanks to make up. Towhead is within five of the

lead defining purpose. Wet paint has still got a long

way to come top of the stretch and condensation is joined by

tax Grand. Love is in with a chance.

So is Olivia twist at the rail. Towhead condensation, still in

front Grand. Love, towhead from the back of

the pack went paint is erupting between horses and she's come

from way out of it, and now she's going to roll by and take

the lead wet. Hey, yes, well, Abel Tasman.

Type run, their from The Oaks in wet in wet surface there.

Of course, that's is a style that can win the Oaks, it's just

not as Tyler won the Derby, right?

No question. You don't want to be that far

back in the derby, obviously Rich strike, does it with that

does not happen very often but that is a style that can win in

the Oaks. Again, John it rains on half the

Oaks days. So wet paint with the good, the

good form that way. She's also well-bred.

She's a blame and so it's not as though this is any kind of

surprise and I also don't think It's a happy accident that

Flavia props fly-in everywhere to ride this horse.

No, and, you know, Brad Cox horses run big on big days.

They show up when the money's down.

This Filly was really reaching out down the lane and I thought

she had no chance around the turn sitting there, buried on

the inside. I thought we were swapping a

rock going to go just a really cool, right?

When he decided to go, he cut the corner down the fence.

We between horses. She got a lot out of that race

and I just think she's going to be a better feeling moving

forward. Of course, follows the same.

We talked about this last week, she dares the devil, same path.

Will secret steep a secret, do to those horses won.

The Kentucky Oaks web paint obviously emerging right now as

a horse that looks like it could be one of the favorites of the

other that could all fit would have an old horse.

Yeah, maybe, yeah, feel good for them.

That's such a small operation. It is you know I like to see the

little guys win in a sport where the big guys Dominate and of

course you know with my last name think and awful it is true.

I do own most of the dolphin Racing's.

It's just I don't like to publicly put that.

I just got to think we should break up.

Yeah, I just yeah I appreciate the residuals but yeah, no

problem. They do fun, the show.

Oh man, not have to do that. I don't really know.

There's a whole lot more to talk about that honey.

Bee do you? I mean no she'sshe's great wet

conditions. I would actually like to see her

later in dry conditions. Just to see if she could do the

same thing because really question the big race is run

away. Yeah, I don't think it's going

to be a problem but again you want to see it if you can.

Yeah, I don't think she wants to be that far back against better

horses later on. I think that could be a problem.

You're going to have to pass all of them.

Again I don't think that's a winning formula but I do think

in this race just because what John talked about her daddy like

Churchill Downs? Yeah, well I was at that race

man. Yeah, welcome.

And it was also, I mean, part of it is, you know, the trip is the

trip. Lobbying made the most of the

trip, she wins the race and, you know, she's on top of the Oaks

points reason, should be in the Starting Gate of she's healthy,

you just like that. In fact, that a horse from that

ran in Indiana it's gonna I don't think that's what it is.

You God picked the two races in a row.

She's what both of them. Yeah, okay.

Alright, well, let's get into a little Santa Anita preview with

John while we got them. You know, we've talked a little

bit about the bad for horses already, but you know, we

wanted, we want to get it. We got a big day out at Santa

Anita. Let's talk about, who you like

this weekend in the big cap and the same Felipe in the coal or

so. So let's start with the San

Felipe. Who do you like in the San

Felipe? Well, we talked about the Timmy

octene he's got five of the 11 runners in this race because for

the experts are in his barn and I think the winner is going to

come from one of those. I think National Treasures the

horse in here. He's got the experiences of to

your older man. Third in the Breeders Cup.

Juvenile didn't have a very good trip coming off a layoff last

time at Santa Anita got Ken behind horses.

Took a lot of dirt got bumped turning for home, but he kept

grinding and grinding only got to be the length when he never

looked like he was in the race. I think forward out of that.

There's a lot of speed in here with hijazi.

Excuse me and go Rocket Ride very quick Pace.

I think National Treasure Treasure falls into a trip here

and I think he's the one to beat.

We're going to find out how good hijazi is.

He's the horse that cost, three point five five million, he

looked like a different horse, breaking his made last time as a

three-year-old first race is a 30.

We talked about looks like he might have moved forward it from

the two-year-old year. He has to prove, he has to go to

turns and he's going to have pasted pressure with go rocket

rise of those. There's some things.

Yes. Overcome, but if you're a

numbers guy, his numbers are really good.

We're just going to find out if you can take those numbers and

stretch it out to amount of 16th on Saturday.

I got a quick question. I'm seeing that like this card.

There's a lot of fields with eight plus horses in these

races. The Santa Anita actually, bring

out an axillary gate for that. I mean, I know that they're not

used to having a horse field. That's a John, they just said

the dust off the outside 7. Is that what it is?

I just want to make sure that those Gates do open and that

they are functional. I don't know.

No. What do you know?

What happened John? Frankly they up the purses and

these Rings. Yeah they did and look 400,000.

They all right. Yeah and the late races, our

halftime lead all Races know people will stay home for a

family on a person's first run for some decent money here and

via the first, the sanding, a handicap.

This is these are the first grade 1 races at Santa Anita

since opening day in December the 26th.

So it's been a while. Yeah.

So it's great to have some here this Talk to her, talk to people

outside of California about what big cap day is like, is this one

of those real busy? It's in Anita 30, plus thousand

nice crowd. We've seen a couple really big

crowds already this year. Well, grown, up in, California

was always my favorite day. I mean, it was, it was the race

to win during the wintertime. But then you had, you know, the

Dubai World Cup and then the Pegasus down at Gulfstream.

And now the Sadiq up, they've really drained all the older

horses and and we half a million is nice.

Nice. But when you're talking about 20

million the Saudi Cup last weekend you know so we're not

going to get the a list of horses.

These are not the greatest older horses around but it's a very

evenly matched field and you got a feel of 11 for us, the horse

player. It's a great gambling race.

Well, I mean, especially with backward, backward, loves this

ship over to Saudi Arabia and Dubai, right?

So I mean he's I think his owners lunch shift well done.

Yeah yeah yeah absolutely. But I mean we do I mean let's

give me want to talk about the let's talk about the handicapped

right off the bat. I mean because MC, you know, a

horse like the funded come in here, who is a horse that we're

probably going to be considering, can they be that

older, dirt male horse of the year, at least in the

conversation. It's wide open right now with,

you know, you know, I liked Ava, but table didn't run great last

week in the and Saudi. So who do you like in this

handicap? Well, you know, two of the speed

horses. There's three in the race with

two of them are trained by baffert the hopper and defunded,

you know, that Going to go ahead and head and kill each other

off. I don't know which one's going

to make the lead but that jumbles.

The pace situation a little bit defendant last year when he

raced at Del Mar, he kind of he ran a bad one.

He kind of came unglued shipping from Saint, any of the good to

go down to the race. So when he ran well in the

Pegasus at Gulfstream a couple of weeks ago, shipping across

country that tells me he's matured a little bit, he's got a

little bit better as an older horse.

He's the one to beat in here, I don't trust them at a mile and a

quarter. And and especially if your

marginal to get the distance and you haven't been able to work

coming into the race with the weather.

We've had, there's a lot of question marks on that.

I'm going to go over the horse, coming from out of town that

hasn't had to deal with their whether it's just that we've

had, and I like, warrant in this race.

This is a horse from Brad Cox. That got beat ahead in this race

last year by Express train. He's been pointing to this race.

All winter got a preparation of the fairgrounds an easy win.

He shipped it on Tuesday. So he's avoided.

A lot of the mess that we had out.

Here, we know he's fit Again. Brad Cox on a big day, they're

going to run wealth Lobby and pot rides and I think he falls

under good stocking trip in here.

You've got to catch the funded a real bomb in the race.

Maybe you take a look at his there goes Harvard who was just

prepping for the race last time on the grass.

Got in all kinds of trouble finish last.

Throw the race out. It did the purpose.

He got a race that he needed to get.

He won the Hollywood Gold Cup. That's in, I need a last year,

he beat the funded at a mile and a quarter on the sand.

I need a dirt last year so that's Big plus, he's been

pointing to this all along. He's draws the rail.

He had a Founder stocking trip. I think he's told one of the

program, they'll probably be a bigger price than that, and

there's a good he'll move forward on Saturday.

I don't know how far but he'll run a better race war and of

course came in second CD and CM Anita handicap latch here and

has a jockey named flavian Pratt, who knows his way around

the track there a little bit. He's been to the Winner's Circle

sanding it once or twice. Yeah, once or twice, look at the

way there goes Harvard in the Gold Cup.

Was that day that I read? Just went out to LA just like

wipe the floor with everybody. Yeah, he's stuck.

There was that day? Yeah, people remember II, like a

couple of longer shots here, maybe that's a win John, but I

think at least to hit the board you did Parnelli can repeat the

form that he had in the San Pasquale here, going to Mile and

an eighth. He was absolutely part of that

finish right there with, with hopper and Newgrange.

And is there any way that heywood's beat runs a big race

here? You know.

Hey was speech. I think this is too short, a

mama quarter might be too sure likes amount of Half a mountain

quarter. Yeah, he does well in those

marathon races where you just, you know, it's kind of a one

paste grind all the way around. He's won the Tokyo City and

stuff right? Right.

Exactly. And the race they have down at

Del Mar. I think it's the cougar that

he's run willing you know as far as the other horse.

You mentioned was which one up top there.

Excuse me. Oh my gosh, you said Parent

Portal. Victor Espinoza, I know, he's

off to kind of a slow start but like I just for some reason I

think there's, you know, I thought he ran a good San

Pasquale and he's coming second off the layoff here out of the

sheriff's part. I just I think with with the

weird training and that kind of stuff that's the kind of horse,

that's just kind of always ready to go, right?

You know, I gamble on him last time so I hope and I hold

grudges, I thought he had a great trip, I thought it was

going to win it people and he let me down.

Oz. Oh, he's on, you know, he's on.

He gets a timeout for me for this great.

Got it. Okay, he was eight to one last

time. I think you're good.

I just I think for a price especially if you're playing you

know an exacto try, something like that.

I think he's a serious threat that the board.

Oh yeah he ran well last time and I think he's improving.

All right so let's let's move on to the kill roll Roar which is

on the turf. It's a mile on the turf.

Interesting enough, you're gonna have see some of these horses in

this race that have raced against some of the horses in

the handicapped and making this shift.

The turf. It's a lot of familiar names in

this race, you know, with Cabo spirit with master of foxhounds

with blinkman cough and beats Hong Kong Harry.

That's what he's trying to ask you.

Yeah, it's Hong Kong. Hearing is he vulnerable here?

Well, he is for a couple of reasons and I love the horse, I

think he's fantastic. First of all, he's about as big

as a big dog, he's just a little bitty thing.

I don't think he weighs 900 pounds.

So, you know, if you go to the track and you see him in the

patio, well, he can't win. In then you watch him and he

just got a heart as big as the racetrack.

He runs extremely well fresh anytime awful laughs he's almost

automatic. The kicker is what kind of turf

course we're going to have Saturday were off the turf

tomorrow, we got 9 inches of rain in the last week and a

half, all right. It's gonna have to be some given

the track. Is it going to help us doubt?

That he comes from far off the pace?

He's the horse to be that. I think you were trying to beat

him. I take a shot with Air Force

Red. He couldn't make the lead last

time out and he still I ran, well he's a horse when you put

them on the lady's, very, very game.

I don't see any speed to go with him to on Saturday.

I think he makes it lead in there, if you leave him alone,

it's going to be awful. Hard to run him down last

quarter miles. So to me, you got Air Force,

read in front Turner for home Hong Kong, Harry flying at him

and last sixteenth of a mile and I think that's the race.

Has anyone been riding better than Juan Hernandez right now?

You know, when we came into this meat, when you had the addition

of Lobby and Pratt coming back, Johnny Velasquez detorri the

Tori. I thought he might struggle as

far as and he's 20 wins in front and the jockey standings right

now. He's writing super lot of

confidence, a very patient writer and a really good

finisher. You know, I'm in by the way, he

and Paul hitting together a 33 percent that's pretty crazy.

I'm intrigued, you know we saw a royal ship have a really big

year last year. Royal ship is no stranger to the

turf races. Of course, last year, mostly on

dirt. Actually all under I think you

get much run Turf. Last was 21, but has had success

on the turf. What do you think about the move

back to the turf, Royal ship? Well, I think he's what 5410 on

the grass. Something like that.

So now I know. Yeah, you know, he can handle

it. He's just the horse.

I never know when he's going. I run a good one when he's good,

he's very good and when he's bad he's awful.

And so asked me at the quarter pole of, I like them because

I'll have a lot better rid of that point.

You know, he won the San Diego last year and then the Pacific

classic he didn't raise. He didn't raise his feet.

I fear and against flight line in the Pacific classic but he

still wasn't the same horse. I do think he runs well, fresh

the time off. He's trending.

Well, for Richard Mandela, you know, on his best day, he can

win the race. I just never know what to what

to do with him. Is that a Evan Furlong Turf

course. So the mile is for a long

behind. It's about seven and a half.

Yeah, something like that. Yeah, it's not quite a mile.

So you've got a decent run to the first term.

I was going to say so for a royal ship being in the nine is

not not the end of the world, no, it's not awful, and there

isn't a ton of speed, he's got a little tactical speed if they

want to use it out of the gate. He might be the fastest horse in

this field. He will not run are first-rate

early. Okay, not only sure early but he

might be. I mean oh yeah.

Well he's pretty a standpoint. He definitely fits.

Yeah, well interesting. Do you have a, do you have a

pick any other part of the card that you think is you know, that

we haven't gotten to that? You think is really good.

You have a thought about the Santa Isabel on for, on Sunday,

anything like that. By the way, we haven't done a

good job for John. By the way, we're doing a

terrible job. We talk about John Lindo 60 on

Twitter. No, no.

And he's with Thoroughbred l.a., he's got a show on the big

stick, KLA a Saturday mornings for an hour, two hours on

Sunday, and we expect to come on closer to Derby talk about on

your show. By the way, I just want to make

sure that they will get you guys out.

Of so 9 to 10 on Saturdays 8 to 10 on Sundays, all of that, of

course is Pacific time. I'm asking John, just because I

know we have it available on our station.

I imagine a stick like alaa does as well if you have a streaming

as well. So people around the country and

live streaming. Not only at the the station, am

a 30k la and our website there are Bedell a.com you can listen

to show there and you can listen to The Archives.

Awesome. Have you been in?

You've been awesome on the show tonight.

I might have a new favorite John.

Southern count that covers the other cops, get all the way.

Sure, sorry. Sheriff.

And I know you're listening. Sure, my Sherpa hide your dog.

That's right. Go feed your dogs.

And flaming on a horse on, you might want to catch the opener

on Saturday a day. That means there's a horse in

the first race. Could include number five, on

the program. Shouldn't have got beat the

first time out. Ren too good to lose, rented to

a good horse, and Hawker. Hit when the opener, he won't be

a huge price but it'll get you some seed money for the rest of

the card conclude a when the first race at Santa Anita

Saturday. Nice.

All right, what's awesome, right?

John man. Thanks a lot for being on the

show, and we're definitely have you back.

That's all right. I hope you had fun to do it,

guys, long, as I'm available. I'm happy to do it.

Perfect. Awesome, man.

Well, they have a gated the show.

She got into the streaming service and everything.

I mean John's dominate either top three guests right now, so

check positive right now. I'm feeling good about myself.

I love it, man, you were fantastic.

Well John, we appreciate a man at John Lindo, 60 on Twitter.

Go find him go follow. He actually tweets quite a bit

which is fun because it's good stuff.

It's not the wrap. You see in horse racing Twitter

which is nice. Yeah I've been an owner out here

for almost 40 years now and you have a lot of stake in the game

in California so there are some things that bother me and

something's alike and we try and you know, I'm an Enthusiast.

If we can help the game we're going to try and do our best.

That's well, that's what we're all about, man.

That's exactly right. I love it.

Alright, thank you John. All right guys, take it easy to

you. All right.

John live out. Yeah.

So we're gonna move on to do some little bit more.

Louisiana? Kind of course this is brought

to you by agree, cheer. In green, she raising.com to get

all of your, you know, all of your picks for the weekend or at

least a little handicapped and help Louis.

What is your sequence this weekend?

And they take five Fountain of Youth Day Gulfstream Park.

Okay. So what I, you know, it's cool

like that this show we're going to four different tracks this

week because it's that time of year, right?

Yeah. And so you can really kind of

pick and choose where you want to be.

I think the late sequence, for example, an aqueduct is really

playable. Okay.

And there are some play against at Turquoise this weekend as

well, which is food. Nice.

All right, we're gonna kill. He's a little bit.

By the way, I'm interviewing. Marty McGee from drf tomorrow.

Yeah, on ESPN Louisville. We're going to put that up as an

episode of this podcast. Yeah, awesome.

And some extra content for everybody and I love having more

y'all because we got to interact with them, a little bit of

Breeders Cup. Just, you know, I think Marty is

one of the reasons we're in the turf, right?

I actually that's true too. That's exam, was kind of hinted

that. It was I know that he might have

gone to bat for us. It was just fantastic.

And in, and we've had great, you know, obviously weird.

And all that stuff to people from prf are fantastic.

So we love support and you know and it was kind of cool about

us. Okay.

We don't like see anyone as competition.

Oh yeah no I would love and just like just like John was just

talking about whatever is going to help the game.

Let's do it. You know, plus I mean if U

stream that show right? And John's on.

I'm sorry, Paul my notes back up there on 9:00 to 10:00 on

Saturday. Let's do in here, man.

Yeah, just throw it on right. That's easy.

That eight o'clock on Sunday through It out, it's 11:00 here.

That's easy. No, no one can tell you

watching, college, basketball, team, or sir.

So at the end of that, so I gotta stay up till 11:00

watching afford, 30 ult mom, doing the freakin Pope.

Not do this besmirch, but they Stink Sack, they stink exact.

Did you see? Think, did you see that?

The last home game for U of L, they lost 17 games at home this

year, at University of Louisville, and they had

halftime lighter, by the way, Time.

They had a one of those dogs that catch Frisbees and stuff

like that and supposedly the dog sucked like the dog couldn't.

I didn't really like the basketball team, couldn't catch

a pass. And so the guy was just going to

get the dog off of the court and the court pops.

A squad takes a shit on the on the court and it was like the

and is the probably the biggest cheer that's happened in the Yum

Center all year long because it was the it was the like absolute

epitome of what their season was like.

So there that's exactly what's going on Kentucky's.

Not much better right now. So It's been it's been a rough

go although I have enjoyed doing the postgame shows.

It's been a lot of fun. All right so no one knows the

back door like well that's exactly that's that's right.

Okay so Santa Anita do you want to make any further?

Pixie me? Okay, you're good.

It's a reminder that LA and Southern California are serious

horse-racing markets and and that they can have three hours

or shows every weekend, just about California.

Raising its while we're the big, that's our biggest Market is our

biggest Market. No question.

Hi, San Diego, High Sacramento, High Bay Area, High Los Angeles

and surrounding cities, 210 cities in California, we have a

subscriber, which is amazing. We love you people but How does

a terrific job Kaylee? A is a big stick to the area.

They got the Angels games that got the Ducks games, that's a

big stick. So, absolutely cool that they

get that kind of opportunity as well.

Okay, by the way. So we're going to move out the

Gulf Stream. That's where we're going to

start in the second race at Gulfstream.

They've got a horse named principia.

Okay, have you ever heard of principia College?

Yes. Why have I heard a typical

principia college is in the same conference as Spaulding

University here? Their division, three school.

It's right on the Mississippi River.

Good. It's it really is there light

they, you know, but they got they saw some character.

I like them I only have to see grills.

There's a much better so but the cool principia is one of those

religious schools where they don't believe in having medical

care. So like whenever we played

outside like interracial dating is bad and nobody likes a kid

would get hurt and they like they don't have any medical

staff there and then I center field.

Yeah. That's where is it?

It's right outside of st. Louis on the Illinois, side of

the Mississippi River. Oh, Southern Illinois.

Yeah. Okay, that's legit.

No, Southern Illinois is. Not part of the United States

uncivilized. Do we have any subscribers?

They're probably not ones of subscribers.

They probably don't know what a horse is outside of their Farms.

All right. Well let's start with the Oaks

prep race here. We're going to go to the davana

Dale. This is race 12 at Gulfstream.

Start the late pick three Three-year-old Phillies here, of

course because it is a nose points.

Again, your pet peeve. It's a mile in the dirt.

Instead of we're certainly not stretching out here, but it is

at least they're going a mile. It is a seven for a longer

before this in the F or gal just bomb.

But it is one turn and at least it's a mile.

Okay, that's all. I'll say, two hundred thousand

dollar purse here. Louis, what did you like in this

race? My lock of the weekend.

Is in this race. Okay.

Sure to lose her name is red carpet-ready.

We gave her out as a single last time in the Ford gal.

Remember, this is not a to turn race, we are not looking for.

A horse. That is going to be great over

over the mile and an eighth that will need here at Churchill

Downs. She's one, turn horse.

I think that she would be a great fit for the acorn later in

the year. Okay?

For example. And so, I think that's kind of

the path I'll take with her. That's out of the rusty, Arnold

Barn. Louis is right now.

I've been banging on, you know, his name and his riding right

now. He's 21 percent on a Gulfstream,

this meet huge sample size doesn't get them outside, I read

Ortiz does but gets the big mounts.

And when he gets there, He had some and so I got her as my lack

of the week here is the 3 horse and race. 12 the devotee L can

help you out big time by the way.

Keep this ticket skinny in the pick three or if you want to

play longer the pick five and the davana Dale.

Not usually a good course indication of folks success,

right? So but it is still 50 Point Race

but she can still get the Starting Gate, exactly right.

Race 13 then is a great to Devon.

Dale's. Also agreed to by the way, the

Mac died are Fireman me te dire me De Mi and 38 easy for you to

say on the turf four year olds and up, another two hundred

thousand dollar purse here. Who did you like in this Turf?

This is the spread it out leg for me.

Okay, see what I did there leg and spread out.

Yes. Yeah buddy.

Okay. It is a for a lot of the male

horse races and of that, that's true.

So I holding you look at you. Yeah, the um, I did this before

the morning line came out and then I discovered I agree with

the morning line maker Pio. Down at Gulfstream.

I landed on astronaut on top here.

What I like to do in marathon races did Mike.

Listen, I'm not 75 years old. You're also not a Hall of Famer

that's debatable but now currently you are not.

So I landed on astronaut because I think he has the ability to

either get out front or stalk the pace and finish.

Well, it in marathon races, I just want a horse that's going

to be part of the mix at the end.

So I landed on the 7 on top 10 value.

Engineering, if you want to more of a shocking closer

consistently doing that value engineering, the 10 is that

horse comes under José Ortiz to Second Place, finishes at

Gulfstream Park, both of them within two lengths.

So the horse is right there every time and that was in both

the the Kent at a mile and a half and that in mild and 5/8 in

the Jerkins, I think a little bit less distance will actually

help that horse. So I think it's 621 really good

value there. And then I fell, One highest

honors because of I read and Chad and I'm not going to lie.

That's it. That's it.

Of course does have I remember add on the turf?

I mean it's just your 141 at Gulfstream as well.

Yeah ran behind Red Knight who everyone who listens to?

This show knows I'm super high in the doors.

I love that horse at Kentucky, Downs was right there with gufo.

And then after that ran in the Sycamore at Keeneland at a mile

and a half finished in the top three, there came back R and S

behind astronaut at Aqueduct over firm go.

It's gonna be dry. He's bleep down there, they're

going to have him go on the turf course down there at girl Scream

Park. So I landed on 710 and one in

this leg of the race. If you wanted to add more

horses, I think that's absolutely logical thing to do.

Well, you know, we always talk about how you want to fall in

love with the Phillies. If you love the sport, this is

another class of horses that you should fall in love with because

we see some horses here that are running with males at seven

years old. And we seen hindley's, Joy, Run

Forever, Masterpiece as Run Forever, showed it to jump up

and win these races absolute want a year, right?

Yeah, we year something like and then Race is a big race.

I mean, Zulu, Alfa won this race twice, sellers Joyce took uterus

house. I mean, this is this is your big

time Race. So if you didn't, if you didn't

hit in the Pegasus, you would try to hit here.

Essentially. Now we are moving on to the main

event, which is the founder of you steaks and of course, we are

going to be talking about pledgers horse here with Forte

is forte vulnerable. In this race is I'm going to use

him but I think I've rocket came out on top.

Don't W doing it right now man. He just is and Junior Alvarado.

Do is really good on this. Horse.

Showed good. Good form over to turns last

time in the Holy Bible, we watched Y2 bar.

You'll pick off these two races last year, and so I think that

absolutely can happen. Again, the 821 price, is the

part that I cannot pass up. I think that if he repeats the

form that he can absolutely do that.

What's interesting about him actually is his non Winds of

come at. Churchill, he won over the slop

and when he got dragged over a two terms, he didn't win.

That of course Brooks made at Saratoga.

They've always thought highly of this Force into Mischief,

tapping on the bottom. So it makes a lot of sense.

I just like saying tapping on the bottom, tap it on the bottom

happen, on the bottom, that's a great phrase.

That should you be a new show? Fresh drink people.

And so a forte though, I am going to use because he does

come out of that juvenile hasn't done anything wrong.

All the training makes sense, that kept them in South Florida.

So he's used to the weather. It's going to be really hot when

this race goes off. 88 degrees that kind of thing.

Shout out to my guy Rich, who we hung out with a Derby last year.

Yep. Is going to the found a youth

this weekend. Nice.

How about that? So rich use 84 in your tickets?

That's where I landed. I am leaving.

Who's the other horse here? Blazing sevens.

Believing blazing sun burns out. I'm actually really intrigued to

see what we see out of Blazing sevens.

You know, I think this is the kind of horse.

You make his three-year-old Forte isn't in the field 100%,

but you, you will see whether you know, how some horses can

improve from two-year-old season.

A three-year-old fees if John is right, and Brad Cox horses, show

up on big days than he could have.

Show in the fountain. Yeah.

And then so I wouldn't be surprised if please sevens pops

up here. But by the way, I am intrigued

by two horses running their second race has ever okay?

Mages in this race broke his Maiden as a three-year-old

seven, furlongs at Gulfstream stretching out for the first

time under Javier Castellano. That's for Gustavo.

Delgado, who doesn't have a Stakes Winner?

I don't think at least a graded Stakes, but that horse is really

interesting to son. A good magic.

We've seen a good magic horses run.

Well, so that isn't a question for Me.

And then the other one was you sure it's majors at Maji?

Is there another one is must be another race.

Damn it never mind. I misspoke beige.

I just sometimes horses that stretch.

They love it when they stretch out for some reason, right?

They get in there, they hit that second turn.

They've got new life when they switch leads.

I just made for me, is a hit the board type horse here, you're

getting 8 to 1, you get Javier Castellano down there.

He's, I mean, look, not get the best, not still hitting a 15%,

the championship made, that's that's not an accident.

So for me Majors right there, as far as it interesting horse to

watch. That's where the light went out.

Alright, so last horse, I want to mention real quick cuz we

were super high on Cyclone mission of going into the holy

door. It pooped its pants and just did

not do anything. Any kind of redeeming Factor

here for cyclone bishop? Or is it just a completely?

I'm not using him but I wouldn't be mad if he ran.

Well, no, I love that. I want to see you fail at the

Derby makes it better for sure and he's apparently done things

in his personal life to get a lot healthier and do those

things. So it would be nice if you know,

sometimes when you You know how hard it is to make those

changes? And so when you make those

changes, it's nice when good things that come to you as well.

And so yeah, it would be nice to see Dale in the derby, but I am

out of that horse. Show shows it by the way.

Heads, I mean Zach's been getting it done to man Zach's.

Been sending us his his pictures of his getting his runs in and

all that kind of stuff. You know, we're all doing our

part, I love it, but I've got my eating window down to four

hours. Wow.

Yeah. The best of anything.

It's really ok. So that is we're going to wrap

up there at Gulfstream. We're going to move to a Fonda

Hardman. I mean loaded 9 steaks at

Gulfstream on Saturday, just for the purposes of the show.

We're not talking all night, but I mean it's it is a fun card

again. Marty McGill be on with me and

Dan, in the morning, will release that his podcast

episodes are awesome. So we're going to move on to

Aqueduct. We're going to start with race

for, which is the one mile butcher.

It is a dirt race for three-year-old Phillies.

There's 50 Oaks points on the line here, two hundred thousand

dollar purse. And who you like him in the

bushes? Should have bootyman, get a

booty Shi Da bhut. I should have booty.

And not to be confused with nearly been to poutine.

Who was the first president of the University of Louisville a

hobby? And now, is that Penn State?

That's right? Yeah, this horse, if you looked

at speed figures, you would think is not great.

I understand that supports the second off the layoffs for Chad

Brown with Dylan Davis. The two of them hitting it, a

crappy 40% right now at aqueduct Three percent overall.

So I don't love that. It's still a Davis, I'll be very

honest. But I don't think this horse is

in this field by accident practical joke, AP candy on the

bottom of your candy Rod. So all kinds of really, really

good breeding here for this horse was a three hundred and

ten thousand dollar purchase at the Keeneland September sale.

And so obviously, they think a bit of her runs after that,

interestingly enough at Monmouth that month.

Brakes are made in right away by open like six and a half lengths

under José Ortiz. He's thought enough of her to

bring in Jose Ortiz, de Rider that day about that then goes up

to Aqueduct in wins right away. Over that mile course again

against loveita Sophia who's in this race by a couple links.

Now, the time of 139 at for is not super fast, but I went back

and watch the race, she didn't have to do anything, she just

didn't have to. So, if you look at the Times,

Like, purely on the times, like a horse, like Capella's going to

be faster on X 0, ready who's coming out of a maiden when it's

seven, furlongs is going to be faster on time.

I think they can kick this horse into another gear.

Love the second off the layoffs angle with Chad Brown.

And so I'm gonna take a little bit of a flyer here.

I'm going to try should a booty here.

The 5 horse at 12:55, I think we'll get every bit of that

number may be 92, so I'm like that.

I think that's a very nice number last year's winner of

India. Valentine finished dead last in

the Oaks, but search results was the one of the year before that

came in second. I know you like search results.

So I like the New York path to the Oaks about seven hundred

times more than I like it to the derby 01:00, like, maybe 800.

Yeah, right, yeah, right. Plenty of very fine.

Phillies of commodity or yes. All right.

We'll talk. In about that Derby path through

New York. Let's go to the Gotham which of

course is always a great race. Grade 3, Gotham Racing.

Wow it's a mile on the dirt again so it's a short 50-point

race. Three-year-olds of course

300,000 dollar purse. Who do you like in the Gotham?

I don't okay, yeah I think Brad Cox has a chance to sweep both

of these races. Ian Clover is making the trip

from Fairgrounds has never gone longer than six furlongs, but

again, we don't have to go to turns here.

We're just stretching to a mile that horses.

Won its last race against winners at Gulfstream Park.

Excuse me, a fair grounds. Don't talk about yourself.

Like my five and a half length. Five nuclear legs.

Frogtown was s. Not a great field for sure.

But what should you do against bed Fields?

When by five likes? The yeah, she doing.

So that's what the horse. Take care of business.

Reminds me a little bit of We, the People last year, okay, who

came up in one and then ran in the Preakness and didn't go

anywhere? I think the horse is going to be

more of a Miler one, turned seven Furlong kind of worse than

not. Interestingly enough of son of

look at lucky, we haven't seen a ton of his horses compete at

this kind of level, but they thought enough of the horse to

buy them for five times, the purchase price of the breeding.

So, that's, that's always really interesting to me.

When the horses, get that kind of money, you know, shit, slip

Mahoney ran, this track ran at this track over, these

conditions under Dylan Davis. Last time I'll get stripper

McCarthy here for Brent for Brad Cox.

So this would be the other cocks.

Okay. And you know, if you're

interested in that, coming out of a maiden win, that's an angle

that I think you later. To say yeah yeah, yeah, I mean,

unless you know where we live it's kind of part of the

lifestyle anyway. Luke and night is in this race

and that's a horse that people really like one.

The Jerome 621 here for Mike McCarthy, I don't think you're

gonna get 621 on that horse. I don't know if people are going

to gravitate to the Brad Cox Runners, but that's a really,

really good night or good number on Luca night.

And then up top here caramel caramel road is in this, that's

the baffert Ripper here is coming out of La, Salle,

finished behind practical, move in the low self, eternity, the

great too, they're running practical move in the San

Felipe. So they thought enough to get

this horse away from him in the San Felipe.

So, if you're into that kind of angle where the bathroom horse

ships to get away from other horses, which we've definitely

been into before, that's who you would use.

So I think it's a really, really wide open race and so kill.

You know, if you if you feel confident about a price, you

know, John if you are one of you'll, excuse me, who trained

the official mascot of this show?

Who won the Tampa Bay, excuse me?

The the same as here, Bo Yeah, has mr.

Swagger in here, I was looking up, something else, you're good,

just broke his Maiden, they're throwing the blinkers on which

is interesting, but the horse was in a stretch tool, all the

way his first time out and goes on wins.

Okay, keeps all of arrow in the saddle here.

I'm interested to see mr. Swagger, if you wanted a longer

price, 10 to 14, a guy want to be low.

Who's won a 50 Point Race before?

That's all I'm saying, maybe he's got him in a good spot

here, so I use a lot as many as you can.

All right, we're going to go to our fourth track.

Turfway park for a little bit of action.

Here, we got to announce today. Five more years of the Jeff Ruby

steak sponsored by Jeff Ruby. There you go.

Seven hundred thousand dollars in the person.

She will be loving some Jeffrey. They do love check if you're not

wrong. You're not, Jeff Ruby's got

right, it's okay. Yeah, you know, where do you go

first? Take care.

Well, if money doesn't matter. Well, let me just say for, if I

got a fine, dining Brennan's, catch 23 at your place.

Is the place for me. Hey, got a good steak actually.

Okay, but it's really more known for their Seafood.

Yeah. But It's that's where I'm that's

where I'm going to go if I have the choice.

So yeah. But steak nice about state.

If I want a good steak, you know, I like that.

Yeah, for sure. I mean, I think, you know, the

local pet, we gonna do first grade.

You are. Yeah, I can see that.

Cooking a lot of butter. That's all right.

Another son Pat is outstanding. That's good.

Passes passes, the best I've had Louisville.

Yeah, you get upstairs and paths?

Yeah and we got we got it all, we got the morons, we got the

root Chris. We got all the, you know,

Malone's is good and all those kind of places but and listen,

you're not going to go hungry envelope.

I've had a really good steak Jeff.

Ruby's. Well not very well.

It's like see fairies a good place.

All right. The Cincinnati trust me.

I don't like it as much as Blankenbaker does, right.

Thank you, Baker lives and actually go, he doesn't The

joke. Oh okay.

All right. You just talked about it.

All right those words free. All right, well maybe I you know

as big dog how about that? Big dogs are all the time, the

Cincinatti trom and that's a joke for like five people.

As I don't care. Okay.

The Cincinnati trophies are my own the synthetic at the real

Philly race. I only Oaks point, I appreciate

this was a six and a half for a long race last year and that's

it. Now it's your turn right?

You know. They're they're actually paying

attention now it's good by the way, on their website, two years

ago it was Cincinnati trophy. There wasn't even an H in the

Fee. And they and I mentioned it in

the Los Angeles Times and they didn't change it because they

didn't care. Who do you like him is raised

Louis man, I'm throwing a horse. So this is where I'm tossing.

Okay fun and Pisces out. Now the eighth if this was a

mile and a sixteenth I would feel different, there would be a

run-up to the first turn. Okay.

But Adam, I'll she's going to have to do either a lot of work

early. You don't like her outside

posts. I hate the outside post position

about over the Mi Turf. Scuse me.

The mile track at Turf way to me being inside.

Gives you much more of a Advantage in a especially in a

high level field like this your dog is watching us.

Do a show like dude, why are you not letting me out there?

Well listen this great. This great dane wants to sit at

thinks it's a lap dog. I mean it is incredible.

So I'm tossing fun and feisty who did win the Pocahontas last

year. So I am not saying that she

picked us a two-year-old, that's not what I'm doing.

I just I would not lean on her in the nine hole also can't even

kick off the layoffs that is not his strong suit.

That's not what he does. Well there's lots of things very

very well. That ain't it go inside.

Go skinny go. Technical.

The three bowls are, oh, the for that's Michael trombetta, with

pulsar and Brad Cox with Botanical, he grabbed Crystal,

and arrows for this rod. And I think that's really

telling because the two of them at Turfway 26%.

And that is a red Cox has his guys at every course.

And in this case, it's Crystal and arrows.

Gerardo Corrales, who's one of the great writers since Turfway

went to the new Surface? Is audible sorrow the for, so if

he gets a good trip, there will be good to go boss our last time

at Turf way. We won under her erotic or else.

I tried around the turf down at Donna Gulfstream Park in the

sweetest chant, which is a great three didn't work out.

As far as getting in the money. She did finish fifth by 4

lengths. So not a terrible run their over

my on a 16th on their Turf course comes back up.

Its gonna get back into synthetic has been training on

the synthetic very good times and so I would just go through

and for you. All right, so the last race

we're going to talk about today is the John Battaglia Memorial

this race is named after John Battaglia, who is Mike?

Battaglia is Father, the former general manager Of Latonia

dance, not the convicted murderer, John Battaglia, who's

put to death in the state of Texas for killing his two,

daughters in the act of Revenge for for his wife leaving him.

So not that job Battaglia, it's more of the, that's the good,

John Battaglia, not the bad job. Battaglia, this is a mile and

16th on the synthetic. Of course, three-year-olds

150,000 150,000 dollar, purse 20 Derby points.

This is a lead-up to the Jeffrey, we stay.

So we just talked about who do you like in this race?

Interesting, another baffert chipper here, but It in the

Brendon. Walsh Barn, Gilmore.

Who was the favorite in the El Camino, Real Derby.

Are you a fan of the movie? Happy Gilmore.

Yes. You like Adam Sandler.

Yes. Are you gonna go see him when

he's at the Yum Center here in a kimono?

Okay, that shows not for me. His movies are for me though.

His movies are great. Yeah if you're our age you love

Adam Sandler me also I think there's a certain time and place

for those movies, okay? Like like everyday know like bad

week. Saturday bunch of bourbon sit

down. Watch Happy Gilmore, right?

Yeah, I mean there's but there's some all timelines and in all

kinds of the best. What's the best animal?

ER oh and the best Happy Gilmore line is when he's talking a jobs

and chubs talk about. I can't he could, they wouldn't

let me play in the Pro Tour. He's like why?

Because you're black. He's like no damn alligator.

Bit my hand off. He's like, oh my God, that's the

best is Billy Madison, a better movie.

Billy. No.

Have you almost a better movie than Billy man, is it?

Yeah, 100% zag. You can you can weigh in this.

Is that can jump and I'm seeing Zack is not an Adam Sandler guy.

Well, I mean, it wasn't my formative years.

The Waterboys better than both of them by the way.

Ooh, hot take a much better movie than Waterboy.

The water boy, has at the crutch of Louisiana humor, so good.

I think stereotype humor is funny but not for a whole movie.

Okay. Yeah.

I think Billy Madison semester, those three I love big.

Daddy was an underrated Big? Daddy's, underrated movie, you

know? Plus I think Leslie what's her

name is pretty cute. Okay, Leslie Mann yeah I'm gonna

have to go with the hottest of hot cakes and say Adam Sandler's

best movie is you don't want fruit.

So Hand That is not see that one that one.

Family plays the mom. Bowen.

Yes. Julie.

Bowen is beautiful. Yeah, I mean she's just

objectively beautiful. I mean I guess he's not really

she's not really my type. She doesn't really do it for me

but the the doesn't do it for you.

She doesn't do it for me. It's not sex type either but he

gets it. Yeah, you know she's not it.

So the the I don't even remember poor girl or guy or no, I'm not

though. Handshake the Emmanuel Emmanuel.

Singer like hands down. Yeah okay okay yeah they're

great. If you're looking for like the

more rudimentary like you know potty humor Adam Sandler those

are the classics right? Billy Madison.

Yeah right? Yeah.

Big daddy. Mister Deeds, whatever.

But like, if you're looking forward to these is underrated.

Yes, I think if you're looking for ensemble cast, That Just

Hits home runs the whole time. That's it.

I mean, Bridget's company had the filthy mouth Wedding Singer

guy show up for their Christmas party guy who does that whole

from the think after The Hangover Yes.

Yeah, it's so good. So good.

Like that movie had so many Classics and like, the quote

ability the lines like yes, lots of Adam Sandler, movies have

them but stuff. Like you could have told me that

yesterday, like, come on. Yeah.

Or the mr. Deeds lime, you know, when he

talks to the old lady says, I just inherited like, you know,

50 billion dollars or whatever. He's like, don't go Chuckles,

put it on some fancy record player.

Oh, And then Steve Buscemi cameos and all those are just

like what you people not to kill and you can knock Adam Sandler

as an actor, as a whatever. But that man can drive the best

people into the room when he makes a movie.

Like he can find those people or McDonald was a bit actor and

Billy Madison, dude, the guy's amazing.

Yeah. Like he he just he is so good at

like keeping that communication. Together.

And I mean, you don't have to listen to this episode and be

like what the hell did I get it? Don't matter.

I'm like a jackass has went off the deep end and just went like,

totally crazy. Adam Sandler's still like, it's

cool. I'll put you all right, pieces

joke. But by the way on his Adam

Sandler course, has gotten really heavy on the Netflix

side, but the movie Hustle were, he's the basketball agents.

Actually, pretty good. And all I'm going to see the one

with the diamonds movie. What's that called?

I'm ins, I don't know what you're talking about.

He just did the movie in New York.

Exact hidden gems hidden gems. I haven't seen that yet either.

I'll and I'm a I'm going to drop the ball, right?

I remember to put a nail in the coffin with the Adams gonna talk

right here on kind of peeing. Your pants is cool.

You consider me Miles Davis, okay?

It's Gilmore the horse then is that it or, you know, spread I

think it was about to talk about horse racing.

No, I think you use Gilmore for sure.

I think there are some other horses in this race though.

It longer prices there. Just like bromley's in this

race. For example, the random in the

lecompt, didn't like the dirt. There were going to back the

Turfway Park where he broke his Maiden.

Excuse me, he broke his main to Churchill, then they bring them

to Turfway wins a Sprint. So he tried some stretching out

last time for the first time under Paulo.

So he at least has the experience of going to turns it

didn't go. Well, I'm interested to see if

getting back just to the synthetic and Church in general

will be better for him, but he did not have a good race.

That was the one that instant coffee beat to Phil's.

By the way, A of people are remembering so he's interesting.

I don't know if I'll use him a horse that I will.

Absolutely use is American speed.

Brad Cox and Chris Lane Terrace again that horse ran second last

time and was just an absolute. I don't know what happened there

but he was in position to win and didn't win the race in the

Leonidas and so I'm interested to see if he's able to come

back. There's a little bit more

distance here wondering if that tracking will you know with a

little of push. From Chris Landeros, if it's a

little better that way, I just don't know, but if it goes to

form Gilmore's the best horse in this race and that's fine.

Another horse coming in here though, that's interesting.

One on debut sprinting, they stretch them out the first time

against Winters last time in an optional, claimer, at Turfway

park for been Colebrook, is the one machado's Scooby kwon do.

So, if we're going to do names today, should a booty and Scooby

cuando would be our doll named Team.

Okay, I can't bet that. That double they won't.

Let me the aqueduct people don't work with the turquoise people.

Let me get it together. Why is there not a butcher?

Battaglia double, I mean, what are we doing?

The sports going in the toilet, I mean, come on, but improved

actually. Last time out, I thought and was

right there to win. If that horse had one last time.

I wonder if we're not looking at that horse, it's like four to

one. He's 62 one.

Instead, why Machado sneaky go to Turfway Park hits across the

board all the time? 13% winners interested to see

Ben kohlberg not having a Great meet there, but was a 14%

trainer last year. And so I think Scooby Kwon Do Is

your long shot here. But I do think Gilmore's, and

since I will give no credit to the synthetic road to the

Kentucky Derby. Even though it permeated every

winter last year, I'm going to take my boy Antonio say no who's

got ruined so no legit it going to Vera Revenge right here so

let's go forward. Who's he got a congruent?

Okay. Who's actually not really gonna

fact right? In Walsh's the Brad cod as the

is the Bob. Baffert in this race has got

like for energy. All right, so I'm gonna go ahead

and say this is our best show ever ever, ever.

This was fantastic. Zach, thanks for everything

today. John's our best show, ever best

show ever. Just drops it.

You know this is it which I was great job and I know you like

your beer but just you know let's put let's put the Gianna.

Is there italian-style logger? It is like it is if a If Peroni

made love to a small Craft brewery in Louisville, how about

that? Okay.

Yeah I'll give you the Italian. You had this before you like ads

really good. It's good to be here and I won't

tell you right now. Zach.

I am a little hurt though. Lily asked to also have some

bourbon tonight along with his beer 854.

Where am I going? I pulled out.

Some Weller 107, you're not supposed to pull out, drink that

bottle to the drags and cracked it open, you know, it's like

it's my Bourbons not good enough for Louis.

We're talking to John. Oh no, no, my Weller 107.

It's not good enough to live. We gotta lean into the sponsors.

Louise. Drinking that great beer.

But okay. All right.

All right guys. Yeah.

Dan Issel nipples. Sure.

Look that's very cheap Daniels nipples.

Someone suggested we do is spring break addition to the

horse racing happy hour. We should actually the Mardi

Gras version with the B's. You know, do something along

that line. It's showed up like a champ

dude. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

And we're hoping that the end comes back for a Derby coverage.

We're going to see you call that kind on that you know, get all

that stuff squared away and Chance my uncle's coming by the

way. Oh yeah.

Explore, let's go. Let's do we get those passes.

You can remember. We got.

Yeah. Sorry dude, and Zach.

You're coming down, right? I will.

It's all about and we're going to be a Preakness to.

By the way, we're excited about our only show will be Friday of

well are only. I should say that.

Do you want to do a A show for sure.

Okay. So what we're doing to our black

eyed susan Day show and we can preview the whole we can

literally take in this setup we have going on right here and you

are pretty showed yeah and a no one's going to be on John Kasich

will jump on with us. I'm going to try to I'm trying

to light up the horse racing guy from WBAL.

Okay yeah I followed him for years I know what his name is or

I'm totally blanking on right now.

Alright so horse racing got 4 WL w.

We love you WBAL. Yeah.

But they're the WLA of Baltimore for sure.

So yeah, absolutely. All right, well we're going to

we're going to put a bow on this one.

We're gonna pay tab. Get out of here.

Thanks for listening. This has been the horse racing

happy hour. it's like clothes.
