All right, welcome into the horse-racing happier.

I am I Gandolfo, and I'm joined by my, my very good friend, a

brother in arms. Quite frankly, one of the loves

of my life, we were bow. Oh there you can say producer

Zach. Yeah.

Dom here, you know? Yeah, yeah.

All right. So, you know, we're in the we're

time the weird time. We're we're waiting.

The waiting is, the waiting is the hardest part other than the

other part. It's the hardest, did you?

Did you miss me last week? No, we had a great show if

that's the answer, I want? No, no, he didn't miss you,

everybody's rocking the horse-racing happier has.

I think there's a lot of, there's a lot of company Pride

today, which is fantastic. So make sure, by the way, if

you're, if you're listening to us and you want to see us live,

the zaniness that we are, you Go to Spotify and pull up the video

of this or you can Zack. We got, we're on YouTube now.

I don't know where we're at Zach's.

Zach took over this from my life and I am like I'm one happy

person. Zack jump on your world for

doing nothing to doing even less than nothing correct.

Yeah, I show up at 8:00 on Thursdays, Twitter, twitch and

YouTube. What are we going to do?

Is we like, are we going to get knocked off?

Well, Spotify. And are we going to like, but

live on YouTube and Twitter and twitch, but you can go back and

watch that anytime. What are we going to do when

Ilan? Finishes his world takeover and

won't. Will he not allow us without

paying to do the last thing where we will?

We be Sol there or what? I mean.

I really have paid zero attention to that whole thing

because it really does not impact my life a whole lot.

It's one of those things that's become so political that I don't

trust anyone on the issue. If people lead a certain way,

they think he's doing a great job, if they leave a different

way, they don't think, but just to be fair, Zach does have some

kind of background Insider knowledge in the tech space so

let's hear what Zack has a second but we also know how

exactly So he's going to say he's doing that job.

Oh that's I don't ask if he's doing a good job, a job.

I just wonder if we're gonna get kicked off Twitter.

So one I highly doubt we would get kicked off Twitter.

Okay, a day, where if we wanted to keep Twitter as a platform

that we would have to pay, but to, you know, when you have the

friend in horse racing, that owns horses that come in last in

every race but they keep on buying horses.

Here Comes his political statement by the way, You.

All right, go ahead. That's Elon Musk and Twitter.

Like he just he can I don't want to talk to Rachel.

Wait for it to keep going. And this is where it gets

political. Sorry, is they removed their

from their terms where where they say, exact you had

completely derail the show and were three minutes in.

All right, we're Yeah, we're going, we're moving on.

I will let me talk about where I was at least last Thursday.

So since I was a bourbon Bill, there she is.

Rachel. Yeah, Rachel needs be bigger

than us for sure. Rachel, how you doing?

I'm good. Awesome.

Thanks for joining us tonight. So we were just talking.

I wasn't on the show last week so we had to.

Yeah, get the real thing, guys. I got a Daniel Boone.

Had to fill in for me. Me last week Crush, I'm sure you

always does a great job. Don't know that we're doing

this. I'm so glad that your dogs are

barking because I was gonna preface this, my dad's dog that

I got him. He treats like a child, she has

no manners if you hear dogs barking in the background, so

I'm excited. Tell him, Louis was yelling at

him Rachel's a really loud on your end.

The dogs barking. No, I'm in the man cave, so I

don't think it is. Yeah, so the end of the day

though, it's a lot for us here, but the We have these, we have

these, these big hound dogs, are like straight out of the book

Where the Red Fern Grows. Did you read that when you're in

grade school? No, well don't grading books

right now. I love reading, but I've never

read Where the Red Fern Grows for Red.

Red Fern Grows. Even see Sach nanak, but he

should have been nodding at that ball.

Stay joke. I'm a little disappointed in.

You. Did you read and grade school?

Where the Red Fern Grows, we gotta go.

See, ya. So the coon hounds in the space

of what we got next door and so the, but yeah.

Really our money to Kiki. Beautiful.

Who's that's my backyard. That's your backyard.

Would you say have a nice backyard?

Well, I said, it's your backyard.

Remember you inviting you to the party in like, a couple years

ago and I didn't come. I missed out on that beautiful

backyard. Thank you.

Yeah, the Kentucky Derby backyard.

That's this is the backyard. He's going to beautiful back in

general. Yeah, it's my best side.

So last how are your first two days of racing?

You have a couple people up there, my family.

Yeah, and there was a pretty good crowd the first day to on a

Tuesday, it was awesome and yeah, 2.8 million on opening day

versus last year, which was 1.8 million and then yesterday, we

crushed again. So very exciting for start to

meet for sure. All the way getting back into

the Horseshoe game. Eight dollar ticket on The Late?

Pick three yesterday, huh? Yeah, microtext me, Louis XVI

was like your flesh will Big Fudge action, single divorced.

Was it the one with the quarter horse, was the quarter horse

race, the leg, the last leg, right?

Thnkr? Yep.

Yeah, you always do that. Dude.

I've said it every time I want to show you crush the quarter

horses. I love it.

Every time I take off a quarter of her say, I'm like, Louie come

fill in for me, bro. All right, so I got some

stories, I gotta tell. All right, so, and Rachel's

gonna like these stories actually.

All right, so this is Story Time with Mike, by the way, Rachel.

I just want to make sure that, you know, that Louis not today,

it's we're not even two weeks word more than two weeks away

from the Kentucky Derby. But we were Already talking

today about what we're going to do for the Indiana Derby.

Who's her talking to you? We're gonna learn a serious talk

at ESPN series talking to, you spent Louisville getting a bus

together from Louisville party bus party bus less.

You will will, will you be able to convince Ed to get on with us

on the party bus? And for us to like, but I

couldn't. I can talk at into anything.

Yeah, I love it. I'm calling out right now.

Party bus would go Ed DeRosa horse racing Nation.

Horse racing. Happy hour cross over.

Let's do it. Yeah, I love it.

And then afterward, we all had B-Dubs.

We got to go beat any threes. That's what that's what that's

doing the Race. You know.

That's right. We're gonna go celebrate your in

Deanna Durbin. We're going to be w3s.

Whoo. Listen.

All right, this year. Okay, we can do that under 18.

You can see the, you know, we gotta go somewhere local.

All right. So, first story was last week.

I was not here because I was at bourbon Ville, which is the

Kentucky Derby Festival, because we party hard, 70 events,

leading up to a two-minute horse race, including North America's

largest fireworks. Show this weekend.

Adds partying hard. Well, the whole city of little

parties hard so you know, the water is going to suck Saturday,

unfortunately, but it usually would have a huge crowd out

there for the fireworks. So but a bourbon bill I run

training to m.j. and our other friends from 106.9 that was

hanging out with us at the top of the media section last year.

And they've MJ head MJ interviewed me from bourbon

Ville and then they other got me.

I'm totally blanking on his name right now.

This is not good. Good for me because he He's a

great dude but they're like super pumped about hanging out

with us on the back. Oh yeah.

They're like they cannot wait till Oaks and Derby just hanging

out on radio row with the horse race and happy hour, you know,

they don't it's all the missiles coming.

So it'll be all about it. Can't wait.

Yeah. And then then I just got back

from Kansas City. And I'm flying home and there's

two, there's two fights here. I'm begrudging, southwest

because they were fully full flights.

And I in, you know, I got like be 41 and CEO for, so I'm pretty

much screwed. I give up and what's ahead?

Yeah, it's a crappy. And I literally like God on my

guy had had to get at 1:00 to, you know, to check in for the

24-hour Rule. And I got on a like 101 and I

was like, how do I be 41 and CEO for?

So I'm Home. The first, the first flight I

end up noticing the guy next to me is playing chess on his

little hand held. So I said, hey you know I pulled

out my iPad said you would play chess, you know, U-verse mean

he's and I dust them of course like just completely dust him

out of here and he's coming right here because the guy was a

PhD candidate Neuroscience. Take a shot Mike.

Now he's going to Chicago. He's from Kansas Dave's going to

Chicago to present. On on like memory and stuff like

that. But I do love that.

But this is The Story You're Gonna like Rachel.

So and then on the flight from Chicago to Louisville.

I luck out somehow. And there's, there's an exit

row. I guess it's by the window, but

there's an exit row window left. So I sit there and I sit next to

this awesome couple. And the lady starts talking

about why they're coming. You know, you get the person who

talks you next to flight. And this one actually ended up

being a good one because she was talking about how this whole

trip planned. It's her husband's birthday.

So obviously they're coming to Kentucky.

You to do exactly what she wants to do and she's got like this

whole lot Terry. Like a good husband.

Yeah. Right.

This whole itinerary of all the farms and all the horses she's

going to go see and it's like, oh, it's like do you like the

Kentucky Derby? She's like, I love the Kentucky

Derby to, we've been a couple times but we like really like

come in like a week or two before and going to all the

Farms are like popping and stuff like that.

And so she's they went to three chimneys today and all those

other kinds of places and so this morning I said hey Jimmy.

Let's do this. So, this is for Jamie Brian.

Wake up at 6:30 in the morning, meet me by the mile shoot at

Churchill Downs. Let's see what we can do.

And we did the, oh yeah. So we walked in the back side

and Jane and Jane was like like by the end of it like that we

found a horse, you out the ground, gave her a horse shoe,

sponsor about horseshoe Indiana, you know, she's like almost in

tears and and if we walk up to that little like timers, And

right there by, with the horses come out by media Road, it's me

the, the two of them, one other guy and Todd Pletcher, and the

whole thing like, they just want to see Forte like that was the

whole deal. I told her, she couldn't finger

loud too much. If we were, if he went up there.

And so those acts actually got some footage of a forte and

Forte and tap it twice on the track tonight.

If we can put that out there as act and we'll just talk over the

top of it so they didn't really do much today.

But listen, this was like the picture perfect morning to go on

the back side this morning. That like as many times as I've

been on the backside, this was a top-five weather day to be on

the back side and the trick to going on the backside.

If you if you can, there's 14 Chabot rice will come on towards

the end. I got a whole lot of forte here.

Didn't really do much like I said, but, you know, just

getting acclimated to the track. It's just he's a great looking

horse, right? Yeah, really.

Really well like it's easy for him.

There's habit rice, you know, I have a choice looked looked to

collect it. I thought it was interesting.

Just kind of how and Rachel you probably have.

More insight on this too, but how trainers kind of do it?

The, the two of them came out late and they came out together

and I was like, oh, he's gonna probably Gonna Run them together

whatever else and he definitely intentionally space them out.

Tappet rice, was probably a furlong and a half of a head of

ahead of forte, which I thought was kind of interesting like how

they are together in the barn, which is sort of no I don't want

to say personality but you don't want to put two horses that are

/ competitive together to work together.

That's just like, I guess like a horse, that's my horse girl, and

horse racing analysis, you don't really know what the trainer,

unless they tell you why they do it, but a lot of the time you

don't want to put two horses like that together because

they'll get locked in and then overworked themselves, put them

out different, they can kind of take their time didn't look like

he that's all I was like you know, that was obviously just go

out, get used to it, chill beasts like you know you don't

want to put those kind of horses together and get them amped up

and give too much before the race day.

So I just That was the plan or their nips, Forte and tap it,

right? Oh, you found my friend of Joe.

You talked about Jane, Jane and Brian Brian and it's Brian's

birthday today. Happy birthday to Brian for 20

birthday, huh? Brian on the 420 celebrating

with a little bit of Ford. Anything about my brother, he's

having a 4/20 party today, really, he's having like an

Earth Day party party, like plant flowers and my brother and

he was like can you come to my 4/20 party?

Tonight, I was like, absolutely not sorry, I have I'm out how

kids. And yeah, you don't have

children. Have fun at your party.

But anyway, I went for a casino, they do drug test.

You know. Thanks.

Thanks. Well good.

I'm glad your meat started. Well, that's awesome that Zach's

party in with it tonight, though.

He's as he celebrate, I'm sure. So we're all good.

We're gonna get together for some of these events.

It's going to be fun. Are you all?

Will you be in? Churchill Downs for Derby or

not? What's this morning?

Me come and work and handicap the VIP room, but that was the

one year. Eric didn't have us race and

then he's having us race on Derby.

The last two years and I can't, I mean if I if I asked Eric, he

would let me, but I don't want to leave on Derby day.

It's a big day. There's a huge crowd, there's a

contest. And, as much as I would love to

be at the Kentucky Derby, if we were, if we race my first, my

first, you know, my first thing Is Horseshoe Indianapolis.

There it is. So this is racing.

Rachel my check, they do and Eric is a are so good guy.

So yeah. Yeah, yeah I wanted to he'd, let

me he'd understand. But yeah, great people of here.

I want to be there. I want to be there to be there,

at Hoosier part, or a horseshoe Indianapolis 14 Derby.

So, by I'm going to be jelly and I'm gonna watch you guys to

show, obviously, thank you for days.

To and a horseshoe is going to be presenting.

That's presenting some of that that coverage as well.

Rachel will jump on twice that week.

Nice, give us picks because horseshoe will be running a

couple of those days and I'll do like I did last year Rachel and

give out the winner of the first race at Horseshoe Hunter, be

days. So that was my best pick of the

day. It was like 7 to 1.

So this is my top off the bench. Let's go.

This was my first trip to the back side this year.

That's that's the backside of Churchill Downs.

Just want to make sure I'm clear very clear on that and And, you

know, you're always supposed to bet on the first Derby horse

horse in the first Oaks horse that you see.

Okay, the first Derby horse, I saw was forte in the first folks

horse. That's almost wet paint.

Yeah, yeah I'll do that little you see if you go on the

backside a lot. Yeah, that's your yeah.

Yeah, yeah. You go watch the workouts, go.

You got a bet on the first ones you see are.

Is there much Buzz up there that wet paint?

I mean, obvious horseshoe grad is, I mean, geez, She's upset.

Well, I don't think in these she's just not the favorite.

I mean, oh I think she's in the slop and everyone was like, oh

she just loves the wet and then she shows up and killed it on

the vanity, we're only two days in.

So I've only gone down as you guys know with everybody down

the tent for a beer. Once on opening day I had one

beer and then I went home. So I haven't really heard what

everybody's saying but yeah we have mentioned it John and I on

the show but it is cool. Every time that there's a horse

and the Oaks that Any of them, you know, it's usually they, you

know, they break their Maiden here.

It's a, it's a good place to break your maiden for these

horses. It seems like, so I'm like that

brat clocks is a huge supporter, right?

I mean, Brad Cox doesn't. Yeah, Ricky giannini.

Oh God, Ricky his assistant, great guy, that runs it runs a

tight ship honestly. Is they their horses are we've

got a good team and yeah he's a super sport.

I mean he started here Tara's me of Tommy Miss like Thomas here

before anybody else was here and Then Brad came and now Brad is

like he knows where to put the horses, his horses that can win

in Indiana. So yeah, let me talk to you

about this real quick and this was actually on the show.

She Bethany's applicable, question Kentucky, passes Sports

gambling. What kind of impact is that

going to have on our racing scene here?

Are you mad about it? I'm not mad about it.

I don't think it's just, you know, a lot of people don't

understand the back like that, you know, I was just talking to

Chris. I mean, Christina blocker the

other day the other day, a while ago, listen guys.

It's been opening day and I'm operating on no sleep, but

Christine and I were talking about how like, a lot of people

don't realize the backside of the industry, you know, I did

and you both know I do a lot of, like the production and, you

know, sponsorships of Allah. And I don't think a lot of

people realize that I also know that casino and the sports

betting part because I started as an intern and Hoosier Park,

nobody in Indiana had a An analyst not trying to Humble

brag. But I was the first one and when

I was the offseason they didn't know what to do with me.

So they put me in the casino. She was 9 years old.

I know they can put like and how that works.

So it is I think it is gonna do a little bit of an impact but I

don't think it's gonna be racing.

I think it's gonna be more on the other side and the sports

book and stuff that's going to be kind of affected.

What do you guys think? The interesting thing about how

it's going to be how it's going to be facilitated here is it has

to go through the tracks. Yeah.

And so I think is right and we have the historical horse

racing. Yeah, that's totally different.

Not even calling it. The Mint million.

They have a grade 3 over a mile at Kentucky down.

Some are calling it The millions because they're putting two

million bucks in the purse. Yeah because there's so much

money in historical. Tracing.

Oh Rachel I'm not even kidding. Yeah, I think it's going to have

a three million - no, no, I heard of any race in North

America. After literally the Pegasus, the

Derby are both three million dollar races and now that it's a

million dollar charge of the answers you have, they're gonna

have this sweet setup in downtown Louisville as well.

I mean, it's gonna be World. Well, here's the thing to

Kentucky Downs, and had so much money from their mint parlor.

They had to give the money to Ellis to supplement Ellis's

persons last year. So Ellis went from running like

50,000 dollar maidens to sixty one thousand dollar maidens.

I don't see that. I didn't know that.

That was why. Yeah, it's wild I think it's

gonna be, I think you're gonna see a huge impact, you know,

just because it was support, it was starting to really impact

our are bringing operations here.

I mean don't don't feel bad for us, but, you know, it's good.

That breedings gone to other States during the late.

Yeah, a lot of $5000. Now it's I mean that's that's so

that there it is. We don't have to go to Indiana

to game only more and less. We want to go to Horseshoe and

played roulette or is a Little Caesars.

What you like, baby steps? Maybe next year.

All right, so what do we talk about daily?

I don't have my show. She wrote, I don't need over my

iPad. No, I just and you guys are

going. To take it.

Easy on me, I'm Derby horses. I didn't even look at Oakes.

I'm so far behind and I was wowed.

Know you're okay. I mean, I think we're still

trying to, I mean, like, one of the things I did see on the show

sheet is that hey, the fields are set well.

We know that's not true because even last year, Rich strike gets

on the very last day. A lot of stuff happens.

I think the conversation here is going to be, you know.

Well, if people are looking for a resource horse-racing happy

our.com, the top article is my cheat sheet that I put together

every year. Yeah, I studied that today,

everyone that's listening on the podcast.

That's what I did. It's their Derby homepage there,

equi base homepage, and then all of their prep replays, nice.

And if they ran the snakes rates.

Yes. If you, if they ran a Stakes

race at Churchill Downs, it's also on there and it's an order

of total points. Nice, and so the contenders are

already ranked, and it's the top twenty six points Getters nice.

So if there are, if there is movement, which we can only have

four, also eligibles, when they have the, the injuries happen on

Monday, not this money, the following Monday and but it's

all set up. You can go check out all the

horses, all the way from Fort a all the way down to say, a

mandarin Heroes there. So it's a great resource.

It's also available as a PDF, Zach made that an option as

well, so you can literally just download it totally free, and go

ahead and grab that horse racing.

Happy our.com, I'm just looking over.

Its the top of my Twitter to, by the way, at Radio Lewis Johnson,

I spend I was the best those pin at the top so I can look it up.

Yeah, well let's let's before we really kind of get into the

Derby rankings and Alex let's actually look at What happened

last week in and I'm just going to say right now.

If it takes from me not to be on the show for in Italian to win

on the weekend, I will make that sacrifice.

No take one for the team. I will take one for my

Paisano's. So let's see in Italian here in

the Jenny Wiley. And Seeker.

Shout-out, tequila here for the race replay.

The leader white Frost to the inside, with the moon, like to

the outside. Then Queen goddess Kim's is

fifth toward the rail and Italian has the lead in Italian

into the final Furlong opens up here.

Three lengths in front of with the Moonlight.

Second ahead, white Frost is stirred in Italian, the leader

coming to the line and the grade one, Jenny Wiley, in Italian, to

win it. For my Rarities, Junior with I

ride, you know, you do get it done.

So it wasn't as though he got it to, you know, it's like forty

eight and a half or something like that.

Where he's out in the lead that horse, is just better.

Oh yeah, light is a really nice mayor.

And so that's that's a, that's a nice finish.

We gave out the term. Pick three in the sheet.

Last week that hit for a couple of days and so that worked out.

Yeah. That was one of those legs that

we went reals. Guinea and the top two came in

for us. And who is that?

This is Nene. What did you get that happened?

Was that happened? Yeah, and her, since I was Gap,

my my husband and I met. She was our first baby.

All right, this is Mimi now. Loo that field was kind of like

lots of scratches and all that kind of stuff.

I mean. Yeah.

So it looked like Santa Anita Turf race but that's okay.

I mean, you know, we still yeah she was Yeah, well if she can

get that kind of lead in if she's able to run those split,

she's going to get I mean she's gonna win a lot of races.

Absolutely. Yeah.

All right, we're going to move on now, then to the Lexington

states, which first mission winds, but the story here is not

who won the race to me at the stories who came in third,

because it disrupted the Derby points, right?

So let's go ahead and let's look at the license takes Arabian,

lion leads to the top of the short stretch and the

Stonestreet Lexington, Arabian, lion with first mission.

Having plenty of room to the end side.

I'd and trying to scoot up the rail to challenge Arabian.

Lion Close, Quarters between this pair then disarm and then

Denton. First mission keeps running up

the inside. First mission, grabs the lead

first mission, Luis saez. Just a reminder that in the top

three things that's wrong with horse racing.

That short, stretch of Keeneland is way at the top of the list.

Oh my gosh. It's so quick.

It's what we're among with the Dual Finish Line's the, to

Finish Line. First of all, when I was listen

I'm not gonna lie to you guys. As you both know, I've been

super busy in the offseason. I'm trying to catch up just with

this so I haven't got to watch replays yet.

I was interested to see that one.

Because who was it? The eighth the second place.

Sure in that race Ruby mines? Yes, yes.

Yes leads. Yes.

Which leads but bliss the the stretch is so short.

Never got enough momentum its I totally agree with you Louis.

Yeah, and I think they did right by Arabia line.

By the way, he draws the outside post, and they just decided, you

know, Bedford into Iraq. Yeah, just just go to the front.

We'll figure it out with the short stretch.

Hopefully, were there let him catch up to Second Place?

Check, anyway, well worth the trip.

And so, you know, I think we'll see both of those horses in the

Preakness. Hey, we're to the time of year

right now that we probably pick start picking up listeners or

trying to figure out things that don't listen throughout the

year, so we like to do a little bit of just education, right?

I mean we're all but educated am, absolutely.

So, when Rachel explain what you mean?

When you say they switch leads and what why that matters?

Well, it's kind of hard if you don't know, but so a horse will

lead with one foot. I'm gonna really dumb it down

for people, not that anybody's dumb and you're getting visual.

So you definitely need to go check out the screen.

Well, this too. Because what I sometimes,

because I do wagering 10 ones that work like where I say like

oh this is when place show like I really get new people and I

like to do that. Just I love teaching new people

and I don't mean dumb it down because nobody's dumb.

This is a hard hard sport. So they're they're leading with

this leg and you want them to switch to lead with the other

Because it gives them a little bit.

Extra of a boost is the easiest way that you could put it that

easy to use. But they've just LED with one of

their feet going around the curve and then you want them to

leave with the other they change leads.

You get so that was change leads a little bit too late for my

liking personally but yeah it's one of the things I learned

doing the show is that horses? Don't run in a straight line,

they run in a zigzag. So that's what we're talking

about here with one of the feet being in the lead.

Okay? So first mission Arabian, lion

both He's probably headed to the Preakness but disarm picks up

the six points right here and it's too bad.

That Arabian lines. Trained by Bob baffert.

Yes. I think he'd be great.

The pâte à really what you know now absolutely.

Yeah. So the the connections would

disarm Steve asmussen, he's a gun Runner but they don't seem

like overly enthusiastic about like they haven't made their

decision yet on whether or not they're going to run or not.

Yeah any take on that. They're in the race that they

want to be right for everybody. You know, a couple years ago, we

watched who won the El Camino, Real de were goes on to win.

The Preakness Rombauer. Rombauer, we watch them.

Say no, no. We're going to the Preakness and

everyone went. Why don't you try the Derby?

Like, you can get in, you know, and and they just it turned out

to be the right decision. And so sometimes I think with

horses, you know mean, your criticism of asthma says he's

not a grade one. He's not, he makes his money in

allowance races in in high-level climbers, right?

Yeah, okay. And so, you know, I think in

this case, if you've got the 16th Derby, horse or something,

and you think you can hit the board, you gotta run home?

Yeah, check it check for hit the board in the Derby.

Top 5 is insane. And so plus if you're if you're

if you're Kentucky, Derby placed, Right?

If you have the board, the Kentucky Derby, and that's huge.

Absolutely. So just let people know

reincarnate disarm is the actually the second to last

horse that got in the race. Reincarnate is last with the 45

points because we have the Japanese invitation as being

accepted. Which so we'll have two Japanese

horses in the race. Which oh yeah, it's going to be

very, very interesting. How do you think you say that?

Der murder Masonic. Okay.

Yeah, I knew you would Louis. That's that is what he does.

But you got three other horses have with 45 points tied with

reincarnated here. We're going to be in that 21st

22nd 23rd and there's a lot of people who, like, Skinner for

example, the 22nd Cyclone missive is, you know, not

winning races, but hitting the board, and actually looked a lot

better since you should definitely run in the past.

Yes, if you have a question. Yeah.

So you're going to get some of these horses.

Unfortunately, I don't think mad main hero really doesn't have

any chance of jumping up there, and, but it's going to be It's

going to be kind of interesting, just to kind of see what these

other horses do because they will show up Derby Day, right?

I mean more likely to Jason's road is already on already

there. Well and there are some horses

in that list that you're mentioning right now, including

verifying. Yep.

Or Mage that you just mentioned, blazing sevens.

Even that people really like, man, you know, yeah, we really

like it Cox's horse, I love that horse.

Yeah, it shows in that list to he's, in the teens right.

Isn't he like a 11th? Yeah, I mean, hit show if he

doesn't break from the outside, I think he wins the wood.

And we're talking a little bit differently about him as well.

I know the wood has been a bad predictor for success in the

derby recently. But historically is really,

really excellent. And so, at some point, the wood

winners going to win. You know, horizontal was gonna

win the Derby. If we get one out of the

freaking Jeff Ruiz takes any cripes Almighty.

So I gotta go put rate of bed. But what are you guys thoughts?

On Forte is what I wanted to know.

I think he's heads and tails heads and tails, you think so?

Yeah, I think there's a chance. He's epicenter.

I think there's a chance. Yeah I mean there's a chance.

He's justify. So yeah.

Well shit yeah I think he I think he's got a legit shot.

Really of of hidden? Yeah.

I think this horse can continues to improve.

And for me, what he did and what yeah, what he did in the

Florida. Derby zombies Pretender hashtag,

that's making fun of me. What does that mean?

Hey, before you leave, if I would have told Adieu on January

1st that the Oaks field would be without Wonder Wheel without

Julia shining. Without who's your Filly?

You would have told me I was a liar, right?

Yeah. All three of those horses on the

outside looking in right now. So, while field, that's freakin

nuts. Oh yes.

What do you guys feel like this is a weird year for the Phillies

or in general. I think for the Philly,

definitely weird. Again our favorite ran like in

last June as a two-year-old which we never see and broke his

Maiden may may. Yeah.

Yeah. We never see that.

We usually see horses that are really good as a two-year-old

get, you know, all the other horses catch up and it seems

like he's breaking away even further.

And so, yeah, the Florida Derby is run a tent for a long time

went by. Yeah.

Yeah, I'm catching up. I'm literally catching up on all

the dirty stuff. So I was literally asking like,

what you guys thought. I mean, I just looked over it

for a little bit today. I'm, I've been reading Obviously

the Pollak report like every day, but not just scanning it.

Well, go watch that for you. I think my dogs are not running

about your dogs are out. I just saw a dog run in the

backyard. I got, listen, I've got a baby

horse. Oh my God, I got it.

We got a Great Dane, puppy and September.

We got her at night. Great Dane, I had great danes

growing up. Okay, now she's she wants to get

in. Here she is.

She's we got her. She's a blue, she's a blue,

yeah, he's here. One named Jetta and my dad had a

harlequin before that. I will send you a picture.

She is a she she was 9 pounds and shit.

She could go under this chair and now she's 90 pounds and

still thinks she can go into the share.

What's her name Rose? Duchess, Rose or what?

We call, our big Beauty roasts, I will definitely do that.

I'll take the saddle off. Listen, I'm really sorry that I

In get to like actually handicap races with you two got you guys

we watched a few and I'm excited about it and I promise I'll have

more formed opinions next time but well visit on the radio show

next week comic relief this week.

Next week. What is radio show?

Yeah, okay, no do two, two and two weeks pick a day next week

and I'll have you Okay, well, do the two during Derby week.

What, what is your favorite before you go?

What is your favorite thing about the Derby experience?

You guys realize that I had never been to the Kentucky Derby

until a couple years ago. And we, when we were there, I

did Rachel. We had a lot of fun.

I think our first live show that was your first live show.

No, it was our first live show at the Kentucky Derby.

It wasn't no, not whatever you want mine and Louie Louie that

we had done the September before that I'm on.

I'm on like Rachel there was a time when I did 13 hours of

radio between the two days, like it was insane.

Happy hour Roars reason, happy are the first one would have

been 19. Yeah, I would have been 19.

Okay, so the okay, so yeah, everything, everything.

I love it all, it was awesome. But my favorite thing about

Kentucky Derby, like, the actual race is obviously like how, when

the Race goes off and you literally standing there.

And I was in that, what was that VIP room?

Louis that we were. Yeah, it was a Millionaire's.

It was once your about The Millionaire Row, Your Boat

moving around, you're in the VIP room.

Seeing that was insane. Like, everyone cheering.

It was like deafening and amazing.

And I remember standing back because obviously like new

people are like, yeah, run run and I was just standing back

like watching. Everyone lose their shit and it

was the best. We are now supposed to do is

lose their crap because I hear it's all right.

My favorite part though, was working that room and giving all

my tips to everybody and then caching money and telling these

big Burly, guys, that looked at me and they thought that I was

just some blonde, bimbo passing out tip sheets.

And then when they kept cashing money, I was like, yo, Rachel

took a selfie with me on that day that I cannot show my wife.

I know Cut out that she's just like, nope, gets a little adult.

So, yeah, I'm not very fat. I'm pretty much a dude so that

we don't put it off recorder me. We bet that he's telling,

Kristen that you were coming on tonight and I'm like, you

haven't met, Rachel, have you? She goes.

No, I want to meet your wife so much.

I respect her for all of her child-rearing skills.

I'm in love with her. She's my literal Idol.

Unbelievable. All right, Rachel.

Thanks for joining us again for us, make sure you check out

racing racial and social media. And she gives updates all the

time, so I get up to Indiana because it's fantastic out

there, all right? You know, they're all right.

And I think that's why the reasons I really like where we

are for the with the media seats because we're close to Starting

Gate. Yeah.

And we can really see how they break the Oaks actually breaks

like right in front of us. Yeah.

You never get a crowd that size number one and number two, you

don't get that many horses in a race, right?

The 20 just a, just a swarm of horses that go by as well as

really, it's And it's also awesome.

So, all right, we're going to move on to the handicapping

section of our show course, sponsored by Green Sheet racing

right there on my hat and the Beautiful established 1947

green. She racing is your Source if

you're going out to the Kentucky Derby.

Like, listen, there's 170 people one day 130,000 the other day so

it's like, 300,000 people are going out there.

There's probably only like legit probably like 8,000 or actual

horse race next Hurts, right? That means there should be

220,000 to know what am I doing. 292,000 green sheets purchase.

Because if you're going out to the Kentucky Derby or the

Kentucky, Oaks without a Green Sheet, Arthur be without a Green

Sheet, like you're just doing something wrong or Tuesday for

going on for 50 to day, Wednesday Champions Day, hit it,

you got to hit it, you got to hit it opening night on the town

this weekend, Santa Anita this weekend, you got to get it.

So my my ticket in the sheet this week, Late pick four on

Saturday at cute. Okay.

Yeah. When we got up and we got a new

buddy, new buddy, Ben, he's going to be out there, he's in

town for a sister's wedding, so maybe he's going to pick up a

green sheet or get some tips on this show, and, and go with it,

man. I'll let's, let's let's do it.

So Louis we're gonna start with race seven out of Keeneland and

this is just an allowance race 64, long Sprint, on the dirt.

But with three-year-old Phillies here 110,000 up for grabs.

Did you like this race? Going single here.

We're going to the outside for socially selective and I will be

very honest. I think this horse is he

socially selective? Because he's bougie or because

he's awkward. I think it's a coat.

It's a covid. Okay, he's the sort gonna be

wearing a mask mask up with this horses, run, 82.

And 83, as the only lifetime Beyer speed figures, keep Lasik

ear drops out of Brokers Maiden in Saratoga and August comes

back first, start since August in March at Oaklawn Park.

And the horse runs second in a listed Stakes, so we're second

Off the Bench here, Bill mod, does that at 20%.

We're picking up irad here and I think this is going to be a

pretty simple race. Your go ahead and single first

leg race, seven that's Keeneland with socially selective.

All right, the 7 horse, we're moving on to one of Louise.

Favorite races, the Mana half Turf race here. 350 thousand

dollars up for grabs in the gray to Elkhorn Stakes by the way, of

course look, good today. Obviously, it hasn't been really

like test. Yeah, no there Horses on it and

rave reviews so hopefully it holds up, we can only hope we're

talking about turf at Churchill. But yes, yeah, the turf of

Churchill actually looked really looks good from the the little

limited eyeball test. I have somehow we've got Channel

maker still running almost 10 years old, right?

So he's at 9:00 Louis. Who do you like in this All-Star

event here? The Elkhorn Stakes.

I appreciate you. Mentioning Channel maker.

I'm going to leave him out. I'm out of here.

Yeah, not Because of anything that he's ever done, he's won

six times at the distance, he's want to Keeneland before with a

10-8 buyer but that was so long ago we don't even see it on the

form anymore. And so I think that he's on the

downside of his career doesn't mean he can't pick up a second,

third place track here. Obviously the horse still wants

to run if they're still running them, 51st lifetime start fall

in love, the Phillies of Mayors and the guild exist.

Yep. I got value engineering on top

here, seven-year-old gelded, son of Lemon.

Drop Kid is the to hear Tyler aboard for Mike maker has won

twice in the last three. Reruns was second in the other

one. In the McKnight down Eagle

Street Park integrate. Three seems to be fine at the

distance. Got picked off by Red Knight who

are also going to use in this race, everyone.

Anyone who's also 9 years old, right?

He's a 9 as well. Anyone who watches this?

Show knows that I'm a real big fan of Red Knight pick them

against Google last year, Kentucky Downs at 12:45.

Those are gufo really really nice horse Red Knight coming off

of another win in that McKnight so I think those two are going

to show up again. They seem to just be absolutely

competitive in all of these races value engineering is owned

by your mom, Phil Forte and Phil Forte, just so people that know

what the connection that's even weirder.

I mean, I just a forte for taking action, but Phil Forte

was the father of a guy who played basketball at the

University of Oklahoma State University played high school,

basketball, Marcus, Smart who now plays for the Celtics.

Phil Forte played in the Derby Classic.

He was an outsider I'd like it. Just unbelievable, almond,

three-point shooter at Oklahoma State.

So I'll like there's personal connections there for sure.

So I'm all over that value engineering but also using

highest honors here. The eight, what I was fourth in

the in the Maxi America? You mean irad and chat on the

turf is a good pick. Oh sorry.

And then the 3 horse, I have no numbers on here.

Rising Empire has been running really well at Fairgrounds.

Interested to see because Brandon Walsh is off to a pretty

good start as usual at Keeneland usually but those two year olds,

but seems to want to move this horse up.

North here, keeps for All Aboard here, only lost by a half-length

last time out to back one. And optional claimer story ran

in that Muniz, which is a great to FR.

Grounds is going to get extra distance, here, it'll be

interesting. I think they're going to try to

stalk with this horse. Okay, in this case.

And so, I like to have those pressing horses in these longer

races. So, I'm just proud a little bit

here. I'm going to 58 and three in.

In the the Elkhorn City. And then, of course, highest

honor. The eight horse is over.

We'll bill Farish and the owner who was the owner of charismatic

back the my favorite divorce? Yeah, so wraith, 9 at Keeneland

is the Ben Ali Stakes. This is a mile and three

sixteenth on the dirt for 300 grams.

Like I said, a great three. Who is your pick here?

Louis, I landed on Skippy Longstocking.

I don't love the pic for saffy but I The horse is going to run.

Well again ran well in the Challenger last time at Tampa,

Bay was the favorite going into was the morning line.

Favorite sees me going into the Pegasus before that one, the the

Harlan handy, it down at Gulfstream.

Going the two turns horse I think is going to like the mile

and an eighth distance here as well.

Should be good to go in this one.

So we'll use that guy on top and then I should definitely write

the numbers down next up. The one horse Pioneer of Medina

is going to come in here for Todd Pletcher and Tyler ran to

back. One of the mine shaft at

Fairgrounds stretched out to in the New Orleans.

Classic at a mile and an eighth ran right behind everyone, was

really bad last time. Can I just say that this might

be like one of the best grade three fields of we've seen in a

long time. It's very this is a like this is

a great team 7. Yeah and then the 5 is Rattle

and Roll man I don't know what to do with this horse.

When he runs his race. He's really, really good.

The reason I'm picking him here is because he s off the layoffs.

No angle is better for trainer. Kenny McPeak.

That second off the layoff ran fourth last time up the track, a

little bit in that New Orleans. Classic behind West will power

an art collector? That was a very, very nice feel,

mr. Wireless was in that field.

We watched him in the Indiana Derby.

Yeah, came back and has been running as well.

He won the Oklahoma Derby last year and the st.

Louis Derby Rattle and Roll did then.

They tried him in a thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.

Great to at Keeneland just didn't go was a mile and 58

didn't like the distance, so don't worry about that race to

back. He s off the layoffs here.

I think he got that his legs, back under him and has been

training. Well at Churchill Downs as well.

So, I went for one and five and in the bed, I leave the only

other horse in here that you didn't mention that's a kind of

a household name. Tawny port in this race to.

So, with flaming Pratt and Brad Cox aboard.

So this is like, this is a happy American to find horses.

Well, we've got is a great, a Stakes Winner?

Yeah, we've seen some dog, grade threes.

This is this a great to feel to do.

Would you agree with that? At least grade 3 plus?

Yeah. Great to - I'm with you.

Okay. All right, so we're going to

finish the pick for here with Race 10 which is 130, 130

thousand. What did we going to see these

oils races? Get to, and now we have sports

gambling, five-and-a-half Furlong Sprint on the turf.

Louis Hoosier Quick, pic in this race to print shop to pick for.

I have five horses in this one. Oh, I'm going to give you a

horse. You have to include here because

I think they figured out what they want to do with this horse.

Okay, nobody listens the 11th. One he is 821 uh, on my birthday

at Turfway Park. This horse won the Big Daddy

over six furlongs had the race been five-and-a-half furlongs.

He would have won by open open lengths, okay?

That's all he wants to do is go five five-and-a-half.

Look at his splits Mike, 22 and 121 and 220, 221 and three, this

horse, the lies. He's won over the slop three

times. He's won over fast.

Dirt five times, he's one on synthetic.

He's one on the turf doesn't matter where he runs go back,

people go back and watch the The replay of the Big Daddy Stakes

March 11 at Turfway. Park, you tell me if you've ever

seen a horse break, better out of the gate, your life and plus

Roger matter, probably listening, I get it.

No, no, go back and watch that response that horse-breaking do.

I know Liz, I know they got a legit horses here.

So but broad really s, awful, layout for Michelle level.

I think that horse is going to run a big race as well to 10.

And then I went to the six horse, I'm gonna who's the

source of the six horse isn't so Mike is running in this race was

is again another one second off a laugh coming out of turf way

so no balls is gilded. He actually has

hit the board. Total runs so far at the

Keeneland meet I'm not including today's numbers.

I apologize for that but 70 percent overall and he's getting

more and more good, good mounts here.

So so Noble Mission and is one over four hundred thousand

dollars in his life is only four years old.

So I think no balls is an absolute include here, then the

two and the three horses here, smoke and a beer, can man if

smoke and J runs like he did just recently at Gulfstream

Park, he's going to give 20 and 220 and to out of the gate.

Wow. To give nobody license and

absolute. That is fun.

Run for his money coming out of the gate.

But what I like is smoke a J in the two hole and we get nobody

listens in. The 11th are not going to be

competing with each other, immediately, they'll meet up

down the back stretch and then they'll figure it out.

So, there you go. A little smoke and Jana for

Jelani. Is that does that for horses

that five? Do you think you're going?

Okay, you gave us a case all five right there.

All right. All right.

So what are thirty? Thousand dollars is more than a

great three were going to talk about it.

Yeah, I mean I listen to you, don't have to tell me that, by

the way, before we go to Santa, Anita.

Need to give a shout out. Okay.

I texted our guy John window today, man.

I love John Lennon. I was like, yo, tell me what

you're thinking, he's thinking the same thing as me.

So I feel good about these bags. Okay.

Are we starting with race laughs?

Yeah, the Kolar gold. We're going to go to the kind of

gold steaks, which is a great 36 and a half.

For a long Sprint on the dirt hundred thousand dollars.

They're great 3 is less than thirty thousand dollars less

than the allowance at Keeneland but you know inflation?

Right or the California cost of living?

I don't know. Let's go ahead.

Who do you like in this one? Brickyard ride by a lot frankly.

Yeah, 625 yeah and I think it's I think this is a An interesting

move back to the dirt for him. Nine wins 17 times nine wins in

13 races, at Santa Anita, you get, Juan Hernandez, who is

absolutely the king of California right now when you

get 25% and then, you know, I don't know, hits the board in

every freaking race that he runs.

And so I'm taking Brickyard ride and I'm running away.

That's the end of the early pick five.

So you actually kind of get a free space here.

In my opinion, I was a little surprised not to see who's our

guy out west that we love. That was the this printer.

American theorem. Oh yeah.

Little surprised not to see him. I wonder if he's off to the

British. It actually don't know that.

Yeah. And so we look it up or what we

can, but, but because of that, there's a couple horses in here,

like, Trump is in this race, coming out of Turfway, orter

Paradise. Then you get positivity, who's

been running in the Arabian. Peninsula didn't have a ton of

success before that, mostly at the optional claimer kind of

level goes over and rounds. Overseas runs eight 3rd and 7th,

none of them, by better than six and a quarter length against

pretty bad competition. Any Cap'n lower-level stakes

races at made on first race back in North America.

Usually don't like that angle either, so I'll ride with

Brickyard right here. American, theorem is still

listed as active, Okay? So be kind of crazy that we got

an American pharoah are already off to the breeding shed, but

now it is, it is yeah. Eight years ago, race 9.

We're going to see, and I'm guessing we're gonna see another

single here, but I don't know for sure.

The Californians takes two hundred thousand dollars on the

line and pollinate on the dirt. I mean, To fund its here.

Hard. Not to like to funded here if

you want someone that is possibly going to jump up here.

Throw ship, right. It is Royal ship.

Yeah, it's absolutely Royal ship.

S Off the Bench here. Tried the turf.

Last time didn't like it with Mike Smith, Mandela putting them

back on the dirt. That's not a great percentage

for him. But Royal ship is one of those

horses seven-year-old geldings. Hard-knock and Whores 143

lifetime. At the distance get does have a

1:08 speak figure in this race. Actually a couple of years ago,

he would be the other one to use.

I don't know what to do with Parnelli.

Mr. Impossible is a nice horse, but he's, I think really more of

an allowance horse. I think some of these horses are

in here just to make the race. Go really like porn Elliot at

12:56, to be honest, that's the number.

Yeah, four to one. Yeah, that's a hard pass that.

So yeah, I do think it's defunded and a bunch of dudes,

but if you're going to get that upset, it's going to be a real

ship will ship summer. Royal ship is that three?

Two one. Okay.

That makes sense to me actually. Yeah.

Okay but and then so that means that one to fund its 425.

Exactly right. Yeah.

The fun is a heavy heavy favorite.

So Potentially two singles out there in San Anita.

The fund it, I mean, it was an important race for a long time

since weird to see this. Well, I think with happens.

You got a lot of these horses that normally would have raced

here that are over in the Saudi cup and running those races your

stuff. Yes.

So to fund a choosing to stay in the United States and that is

what it is, right? So she Rich strike for the first

time under who, that's a good question for Churchill.

Yeah, yeah. Great show.

Thanks again to race and Rachel for hopping on.

We'll see more of her in the next couple of weeks for sure

and and of course go up to Horseshoe, check that place out.

I mean listen if you're looking to just get away for just a

little break horseshoe Indianapolis lot of listeners in

Indianapolis to the show. A lot of lessons in Cincinnati,

easy trip, it's awesome. Shelbyville Indiana, go up

there. Enjoy a good day of racing.

If you like to see the stuff. That's right.

It's literally a hallway. I lost a couple hundred dollars

there. And so yeah, I definitely lost

more playing the casino games I did the horse racing.

So you might see Big Fudge. I mean, you never know what

brings a can because Zach is excited because he's going to

his first Indiana Derby this year.

Oh, he's coming count. Look at Zach, I guess it's going

to come into so Zach's gonna hang out with big ass at a

Breeders Cup and then the endoderm.

So they basically taking the tickets that are spouses never

use, is that what it is? Dan is my date and Zach is

yours. Oh man.

Alright pretty one of the kind of want a mustache ride.

Good show though and get that. Now let's talk a little bit

about like we're getting into some like where were you going

to just start popping out content on a much more regular

basis than just on Thursdays? Do we want to is is Derby week

every week instead I can set? All right, let's get, let's get

the schedule for Derby week because you're you're going to

get. I don't want any bombarded, but

we know that people want to start really kind of Dialing in

Derby week, they want to know what's going on the track.

They want to know what's going on with the celebrities.

They want to know what's going on with the horses, they want to

have some tips. I mean, we're delivering so

multiple times a day, Monday, through Wednesday of every week

will be on 10 to noon live on the ESPN affiliate here in

Louisville. AMC, say dfm, 1057, you can just

ask your smart speaker to play ESPN, will just be a little?

He is 3680. Yep.

And it's going to be a great. The first three days were back

side. So we'll be and it's 10:00.

So everybody's done working. So the trainers are gonna be

available, jockeys are going to be available so we're going to

get a ton of great interviews and said, Joe and the Thursday

will move up to 320 to. So if you're out for therby come

say hi with the top of the section A lot easier on 32 come

say hi to the show that it is other days.

That's again, 10 to noon. Same spot, he has been the

world. What time is the first post on

therby? Think it's 11:30.

Okay. Yeah and And then we'll be up

there Friday, noon to 2:00. I don't stay and then we'll go

11:00 to 2:00 on Saturday under be nice doubt.

We are the we're going noon to two on Friday.

Yeah. And that are not, that's almost

fine. Okay.

All right. Great.

Well no one's in no one's in. No one does shows.

It is. Okay, love it, that's all we're

going into two and the good thing about about that is will

be in the smack dab in the middle of a bunch of races.

Yeah. So that'll be fun, which makes

that Friday show like Just fly because will, you know, will get

you as much as we can on the races and will bring you the lot

of races. And I mean we had stakes races.

So I think by the time we're all right.

So we're going to have some really nice-looking horses that

were covering. So by the way, we the only

kentucky-based show and all doing radio and Oaks and Derby.

Wow, what were the only ones that are up there on the

September Derby? You know, you know, we've worked

hard for bud. Then what about the extra

peripherals beyond that? So Wednesday night will be at

Chefs cut again and will release that podcast as well that that

is for. If you are a if you are new to

horse racing, that episode is excellent.

Because we go through the basics of bedding, we talk to people,

we answer questions from the crowd.

Those are some of our very best episodes are the ones that we do

do that this year, but we will definitely have a derby draft

next Thursday. Plus what I'm hoping is another

really cool segment but I don't I can't announce it yet.

to the bed races and toss are working there at.

get into it and there's some people that fly around that

track so I mean it's pretty it's pretty awesome.

racing, happy hour at gmail.com and you don't live in

Louisville. I will send you a pegasus pain.

Okay, I got some extras. We will figure it out.

grab Zack, it's 7:30, and this time we planned far enough ahead

that I got actual flight to Louisville.

So, Louis doesn't have to drive three hours around trip, which

means like we could even like go and catch the, if the weather's

nice catch the boat race, the great Steamboat Race, which is

kind of a cool thing and then we'll head over to Jessica.

You suck Cincinnati, just kidding.
