Alright, welcome to another episode of the horse-racing

happy hour Louie Louie, you're like things going on.

There, you got a little bourbon. Oh, you got a little beer, oh,

getting a text from a sports director in town.

I mean, let's go what a day. What a day, what sport strike it

down. Slipknot's not worry about it.

Okay. How about that are you giving

in? Giving you an idea what you got?

Drinking over there. Okay, so not a hazy app.

Yeah, this is the voodoo Ranger. Yeah, I want to show like show

people, this is one that I buy. In the big can.

Okay. Don't have to get too many of

these by kind of. I mean, come on Bo it is like

Daddy Bowl but twice as much alcohol as a TiVo and then this

is the old, Jim Beam hundred proof so we're doing so.

Don't besmirch Daddy bone. Eddie, Boe is a logger.

It is not that crappy IPA style. Listen, I know you had one.

I hate IBA ipas. Well you did very well with the

Bohemian style. Yeah.

Because they're made me think of Shawshank Redemption drinking on

the roof after Charlie. I think we need to get straight

to it. Well, I mean can we can we Hang

out and just talk for a little bit or do you want to like well

that's talking. Yeah.

Okay you know you went to Preakness for the first time, a

little disappointing, or drink selection, by the way.

I'm just going to go ahead and tell you right now.

It's National wind day and you're bujji is she you're not

drinking. I've already had two today

hahaha to dinner. They took Klein's out to get a

little some types of inspections and yeah.

So that was it, you know? Yeah.

So yeah. It's National one day.

Okay. I got nothing against the one I

do. I'm not a big wine drinkers.

Okay, good. So it seems like a personal

problem. Did Mike just besmirch you

because you didn't Have wine and then be like, I'm not a really

big Wine Drinker. That's precisely what I'm really

not watching it all, but that's okay first.

Hey, let's what do you want to? Get to go ahead.

Tell me what's going on. First things, first, you go to

your first things first. I'm the realest and you see the

crappiest practice field ever? Yeah, it was.

So it was crappy. That's part of it.

We saw this for the we have to Triple Crown leg so far and both

winners got their first big Stakes win, right?

There it is. Our first grade point in the, in

the trip, for the first time in, I cannot remember how long the

Belmont is setting up to be the best leg of the Triple Crown

could be. I mean, I still think we got a

long way to go before we see who actually enters.

But yeah, I mean look, if Forte shows up and half the shooters

that were talking about, even from the, it looks good from

Derby, show up. We could honestly, I'm surprised

because I thought for I thought we could see like a six-horse

uninterested field in one case and because we've seen that in

the past, right? I mean, so absolutely It is

looking like it could be going. Brad Cox is shipping.

I mean it's yeah, it's looking like, it could be good.

So well, there you go. That's the one we're going to

miss, but let's talk through the weekend, bastard, life.

And three isn't he baffert shipping three.

Yeah, he very well could be. I have not let me pull that up

real quick, but who are the three that you got these?

You going to strip National Treasure because that horse has

no chance gonna have. It would be stunning if they did

National Treasure Arabian. Lion.

Yeah. Ilana knew about, but he also

doesn't have a chance. No.

But he didn't reincarnate reincarnate.

Yep. I don't like any of those.

I don't like any of them either, but the fact that he's back in

93 flood, the field. Bedford became the all-time

winningest Preakness trainer on his own.

He tied it the last one and he now has eight Preakness winds

which is the most of all time. But really like what it comes

down to for me, when we talk about the Preakness and I

listened it was Zack has done his job.

Job. He's got this.

Ready? Okay?

Because we should have the sound clip ready to go.

I met Steve asmussen and it was not met him before you know

we've been in like in the same areas and whatever else and he

always kind of comes off as me as like a little socially

awkward and he does get up at four in the morning to hang out

with for sure. Yeah right.

And honestly like even even when we approached it but there's

something about it. I don't know if you feel the

same way but it there's something about being at

Pimlico. To me, it's easier to approach

those guys. Colleges at Churchill Downs.

Yes, that's why covering the Preakness.

It's so important, right? No, because you can just,

they're just there, that's takes pain, they're just hanging out.

Sure. But then they recognized you at

Churchill. It becomes a little bit trickier

and stuff like that. And I think most people

recognize us and they probably started being like a few

Windows. Jack was you went Saturday for

kirtan today at Churchill and you saw him near The Paddock,

you could talk to him but Derby day, good luck.

I mean it's just a different it's just a different.

Yeah, and so the fact that he's You know, he was definitely

grumpy when we when we approached, thank you, Jenny

Reese. I'm guessing it was January, so

I'm not really sure what he was supposed to.

I don't know. We love Jenny but and I kind of

waited my turn. You know, patient wasn't rude.

Just said, hey Steve can we grab?

Can we grab like 90 seconds? And he said, she said, sure as I

go right we're good. Nothing too serious.

We have a little fun. He's like as long as it's fun

for me and not just fun for you is watching the No, I don't know

and as they go they'll be fun. And then we went straight into.

How how do you pronounce as much sand as mucin and told him that

he would? He got a big kick once we told

him he was a drinking game. Oh he's on the show if you

pronounce as muhsin as mucin on the show, it's a drink and then

we got him to record the as muhsin as close as he was really

at this point. All of them are drinking games.

Yeah, that's true. Ask me is in as Moses and

they're all drinking. As just said it.

Like eight times finish your drink porno.

Yes, that's right. So Yeah, that that'll be will

have that audio now clipped out. I think I sent it does that

exactly. I send you the clip with just

the addressing. Oh no he's working hard behind

you. You sent me the clip?

Okay got it. So then we'll be able to play it

and it won't be me going as much anymore will be actual Steve

doing it. So that was just gets.

That's the Highlight that. And I'll tell you what the other

highlight was even though the interview did not go as seamless

on ESPN radio's, we would have liked it to go.

Patrick Bouvier who was one of them.

Damn right and I really want to see.

It only took five days but good for you that's great.

He was an incredibly. We really had no idea what we

were getting as far as an interview with him.

But he was engaging is heat-based Miami for Boca Raton.

So we go k. Talk about Boko a little bit

because that's where I had my honeymoon and used to have a

family. We lost your Virginia virginity

in Boca. I'm not going to say that.

How about you say that's where my honeymoon.

As muffin, you're just like that.

It would be it would change our world.

No, no. You just a little giggle, like

that was part of it looking great Zack.

I think I clipped it. Maybe I didn't send you just

the, like, the him has nothing. I don't know if I sent you that

one or not because before that he was not smiling.

No, he wasn't. So, he was laughing and having a

good time with us and honestly, that's what I want to do right

like it for sure. We got to into some of the

horse-racing talk with him. Talk about red route one and he

nailed it. He's always totally right about

it, he's like a quarter and fourth exactly pretty much how

he predicted. Yeah, there's not enough Pace in

this race. There wasn't enough space in the

race from age. There was enough, it was slow

enough or National Treasure. Stay up front and do his thing.

So, I mean, we basically thought there was two scenarios that

racing one of them came. True, why don't you?

Thank you? Yeah, so we did talk about that

on Saturday. It was either going to be the

major, was going to get something to run into, and I

made The comment and I was wrong that we always say there's no

Pace in this race in these these classic races.

And there always is there wasn't there was no page on TV, did the

damn thing. It was normal.

I mean I guess it was normal peso wouldn't slow?

Pace was just normal things like 48, three men but the ran out

the first the first quarter. Was high 23's.

Yeah, it's hot with what's on the second quarter was 25?

Yeah, the second quarter was Johnny, be walked him on the

front. First.

Ride is job. He did exactly we supposed to

do. I don't resent that.

You know, when we talked about the Derby, perhaps with Kings

Barnes, we had the exact same thing happen, right?

We're flying at out front in Louisiana, just just kind of

rocked, everybody's asleep. Not they're not his fault,

that's what he's supposed to do. And so Johnny, B, by the way,

finishing up the career Triple Crown yep.

See. Were there for that at least,

right? Yeah, that's good.

You know, we haven't gotten your sort of Give us a letter grade

over the weekend. You had a few days to ruminate

and think about your trip to Baltimore.

Now I picked out a terrible Hotel.

Well I don't think that was completely your fault.

We had a couple really nice dinners.

Oh yeah, we write two great dinners.

Yeah. And they're fantastic, you know,

Pimlico spend Luca and I don't have to hang out with friends

and stuff, right? So like, I don't think the area

around. Pillow goes.

It's bad as what people say it is so especially like, what is

it? North zagging around Corrections

in Northwestern Parkway or that's the label.

What is it? All the Parkway right?

Outside of the yeah you go on the other side of that and it's

like it's like a nice section of Beechmont if not.

Yeah really go important part of the Highlands County.

I mean it's we got to we got to Hamden really quickly to have

that really nice Italian meal as well.

You haven't so knows I thought I would say we do need to and I

can't believe it this far. And shout out to the guys at

Jimmy's who saved us a table Coral.

All right. I was our guy.

Yeah, look cigars with us hung out comped our first round of of

drinks. I don't know if I'm a little

late there but like meted waitresses, little bit more than

But yeah, that was not a bad part of it.

No, yeah, but no thatthat Seafood.

Tower that I've ordered job Piazza King, it doesn't.

Let's talk about this. If you platter like we're

ordering that c who platters an appetizer and it's becomes very

clear after that. Seafood, platters are that the

only two people that are even interested in anything on that

seafood platter Army review Army and Rich strike.

Well, a little jumpy as a cat. A couple, a couple shrimp.

I'm just not an oysters guy. Sure.

But do you like just ordered it? Because it was checking out

because it does. Impressive Factor.

Yeah, so we ordered it and I'm like, I'm like, because I wanted

to do like a hamburger or something that for dinner and

I'm like, there it is. There it is.

If I don't eat this thing that no one Weird, Al explicit, go

ahead and drink whatever. Okay.

That is true though, right, there it is.

It is true. I want a burger.

I had my crab cake Coco's or whatever and then I had the

crap, but the crab legs that Jimmy's we're on beware

incredible. After was really good.

It was good. We're sounding very busy travel

season Lobster, good exact to put their their website up

there, two spots are there the restaurant downstairs and then

the club upstairs, we're upstairs hanging out and stuff.

And so it did turn into a club like true Club try to.

Yeah, I mean, I don't know if people actually were dancing but

the other couple I need to give a shout out to is Amber and Ryan

from Twin Cities that we met hung out with us on a picnic

table. Most of Preakness day.

You think that's a pregnancy? I think you said a picnic table.

So the verdict, is that a picnic table for Prix?

Yeah, that's that's me. But we got to hold Court, hang

out with people all day. It's a we had some we make some

really solid connections. Absolutely.

I mean from that standpoint, it was great.

I think again going and I think I underestimated how bad will

was to go to this thing where it's not like the onslaught of

media, like it is a church, all right?

And so like the people who are going to talk to people in her

Tramp around town like you know that your horse racing media,

right? So and you realize how many

faces you recognize to? Oh, absolutely.

And also we are We are 100% the life of that party people come

in there. So you know, we come in and

people are smiling and it's like, you know, I don't know if

you watch Ted lasso or not but like in season 3 keeley's, start

your own PR firm and like going into her office.

No one's got any sense of humor there, just at their desk work

and no one's making a noise. That's kind of what it's like

going into the Press Room. Yes, like that.

And then we walk in there and it's like, the way people up

there. I mean, David Joseph, doing the

credential not crushing. Great guy.

Good tone crushing. I just want to say thank you to

David Joseph. So that was, that was fantastic.

Thank God. They had a prayer.

Thank God. I was just going to have to get

the car and go home. We don't want her sneaking.

A last shot would not have been hard to /out out Scott, Wykoff

WBAL. Yeah, the voice of the Preakness

in Baltimore. There found us somehow during

Derby coverage. Horse racing.

Happy hour with Dan Issel, tweeted about it, did the whole

thing climb. All the way from the first turn

at Pimlico with no elevator up to the top.

Top top of that press room just to come, say hi to us.

Yeah on Friday didn't have to do that has Beyond on Saturday so

that I could, you know, hang out for 20-25 minutes.

Whatever it is, totally appreciate that because, you

know, like that's one of those things where you get into those

markets and it's cool to be able to participate, in their Circle

couple Triton's. That was I really appreciate it.

Yeah, I think it's, you know, the no elevator thing.

All weekend was was real good. Look at it was real.

Yeah, but it was gonna hit. I hit the early pick for in the

late pick three on Friday and Saturday was not as good but you

know we saw some good racing that, you know, with the

Pinnacle special. The Finish.

There was terrific race. Yep.

Exactly. Pull up the Pimlico special.

What we go straight to that actually like that'd be a fun

one to start with here. We see Rattle and Roll I mean

from our angle. No chance at that's what

happened in that race. Yeah we'll go to the Pimlico

special here, just a terrific stretch was it.

Several of those frankly about what we saw a great for

performance in the Sprint race Straight.

No Chaser Straight, No Chaser look, which is a great name for

the show. Also, shows horse could be the

show's horse. I mean, I overall obviously the

Preakness stretch tool. I mean, it wasn't who we

expected to be in the stretch tool just the two of them, but

it was a great stretch tool. Yeah, and I really think it was

funny that of the people who I was sitting with complaining

about the distance between races and I was like you will have no

idea like this you don't have 95 minutes between right.

Yeah, you hasn't it. Alright, so here's the end of

the Pimlico special from the With that race.

No doubt, no way. And by the way, shouts of John

Piazza, who had speed biases? Yes, like Stone Cold.

Yeah, shot pick, but rather roller great, their special

thanks to NBC for the, for the race coverage.

Yeah, I just want to say that that was so close to the finish

that we were at the Finish Line. Couldn't tell ya saw the race

and thought Rattle and Roll lost by a nose.

I was I was on the roof actually for that ring.

Yeah John Piazza. Can he was mad because he had

both of them and is pick five but he had to get Speedway

boroff. Like yeah speed bias wins.

He was like man that probably cost away.

Johnny p on Friday was solid. Yeah.

Well it's not a way a couple Grand.

Oh kill this year. Avoid an element up there Danny.

I yet and Dan Issel. Ill menenius.

Yeah. So I was crushin weekend.

Yeah. All we needed was some Kevin

Gilroy out there have been, you know, been good.

He killed Carowinds. Clear.

Have a Kilroy of Maryland. Wilkin It's gotta be right.

Dan will get. Yeah.

Yeah, he's mr. Saratoga.

Yeah. That's but you know, we still

have like 30 times. Oh yeah.

Because he's on the Note C but Kilroy in Louisiana and that's

fair. Yeah, I guess will consume the

notes to your right? Yeah.

All right. So what race you guys look like?

You might, he might be to of Kevin killed by, which one is

this Zack? We going to the my God

sweetness. That's the problem.

Straight to the Preakness, why not?

Let's go. Take it on my place and seven

means wonders inside, still work to do and a special treasure big

again, placing seventh, major stared National Treasure its

place in sevens putting on a show and the Preakness.

Who's it gonna be? It's gonna be natural tricker,

John Velazquez. Get.

I'm so glad that Layton sevens and I went by the Way because

how I read was writing know, we had that frat-boy the it was

like it did the day went from like super nice people to Freddy

very quickly around and he's like, my boss told me to bet

$100 a blazing sevens as like, we don't like that bet.

Ha ha ha. I would have felt really bad if

he would have gone and put $100 on on that plate and set our

didn't put $100 on pleased to say yeah one.

Yeah, the incredible Furniture there.

I thought there was a lot of bumping on that stretch roll.

It was interesting to hear ownership of National Treasure,

talk about it. And it's quote, unquote

race-riding from irad. When you win, what do they say?

If they don't win, right? Right.

It's a very different story. I think.

And so yeah, no. Um, I read move that horse

straight over to the rail as hard as he could, and that no

one's talking about that. And I think it's only because

nothing happened and the other horse warm.

I don't know. I thought I seem clean to me, I

don't know. I didn't think it'd seem clean.

I was actually the way major. It was all set up for him.

No, kick wasn't. He was tired?

Yeah, I mean this is what we're going to see and I mean it's no

but no no no but also just fit start ever and these are things

like yeah, guy needs a little time off.

They're going to give that to him, which is great.

And so do I think that it's more These beliefs.

What did he just do time off. After such a hard.

I mean, he had to be all out in every race that he's been

injuries. What's up?

Was he the only horse that had a two-week?

Layoff. He was the only horse from the

Derby, right? Yep.

Yeah, so that's a good question, again, I'm going to see what

happens. If you know, I'm more of a

proponent now, spreading these races out more than ever.

So, you know, the only perpetrator of that what Todd

Pletcher. And by the way, if you made this

three weeks apart, for each of them, he still wouldn't go the

Preakness. No, I don't think three weeks is

enough, you know? So and I, you know, we'll see.

I mean, I think the five, I think the five weeks were seeing

between Derby and do. I think what you're setting up

in that scenario is breeding even even more.

Ridiculously to the point that it can't just be a month apart.

Our horses can only run flight line style.

I think that's what you're advocating for, I don't know,

man. I mean I mean, it's a different

world in Japan, but they do four weeks between.

Yeah. So, it'd be interesting to see.

I think I think four weeks is the right spacing, but I

understand your point too. I mean, if you had a superb red

horse who then comes in and gives enough of a sample size

that you can do in trouble Conroy, five years ago, I mean

we act like it was like nine years ago that I'm going

strictly for the health and safety of the horse because that

triple crown winner. Five years ago, but Pharaoh

didn't 15, I was 8 years ago, I understand that.

So within the last decade the who we act like it was a century

ago, the Triple Crown winner who as only races at three years.

Old got injured after that Belmont.

Did he never ran again? Did he get injured according to

everything? I read.

Yes. Country House to after the Derby

country houses. Completely different.

I'm sad. They had that horse and training

to run through that called stable cough.

Is that what it is? Stable cough.

That's all. Can't go to the mat for Lacey

Chabert. Once you have a reason, then you

have a reason to go to stick because you won the Triple

Crown. It seems like a jerk reason,

then I don't think so. All right.

I mean I think if that was your case go, but I think that horse

was legit hurt. And and they were Going to risk.

It going in the Travers. Are going into the Treehouse to

country has is it's the same exact excuses.

I'm telling you, I don't think it's the same excuse at all.

Do my you think it's good or son?

Driving Bill Matsu, we're going to find out with Rich Drive.

Ha ha. I want to see this Maryland

Sprint. By the way I need to see

straight no chaser because with this show was called the Horse

Racing happy hour and this performance was like holy bleep.

They didn't touch this horse. So this one stands out in a

legitimately serious ways. Actually have that one ready?

I apologize. If she pulled up the black-eyed,

Susan, it's dead. And I'm that guy.

By the way, just do the point is that rich strike the breeds, not

going to matter for him going for in the stud cracked.

So alright. It does matter though.

Justify. All right.

Actually just This full out in second and then

cut wonder where Greg is and not kotomi straight about Chasers

dominant right there just race record.

Record record record of course, of course, record for that.

By the way, I'm gonna say some Blasphemous on the show.

Everybody's gonna have to drink. He beats mottola, if he runs

that race, there you go. Yeah, I think it was that good.

I've been given, Jackie's worry. I think he beat anyone at that

well one to see straight. No chaser Or stays on that

Sprint form for the rest of the summer and we'll see you in the

Breeders Cup over Lisa. Yeah, hopefully by great.

Yeah, he's raced on the west coast before so I don't know why

they wouldn't have sent him out there.

But you know what, made that stand out for me is that was the

only one all weekend, correct? Yeah, no one else did that,

that's right. No one else at that.

That's right. Some of those kind of chalky.

Although, I think it was really more like the second or third

piece that came in, always a lot of time, a lot of times, but

yeah, I mean, ultimately, we saw good horses.

And the horses for the most part stepped up, we had those two

races back to back on Saturday, that Were hit by double-digit

shots. Yep.

Besides that. It was pretty chalky.

There you go. Sorry I got to see Sophie

Tucker. That was another highlight.

I know you don't even care about Sophie Tucker, but nobody

talking about I just didn't want to leave our picnic table

because I'm lazy. Okay.

Yeah. You literally walked twice as

many steps. I went over to go see the club

music. My very drunk friend.

Rich. Yeah.

Who enjoyed the scenery so boobies, I like the I like the

talk about movies. All right, so is this the

black-eyed? Susan here that's to The

Black-eyed. Susan phase of the big Big

favorite is the nine horse here. So

deposit. At this point.

Don't you think it's either Pfizer or?

Who's your philly? Will you talk about maze having

no excuses? Yeah, phase ahead for sure.

But at this point, the race isn't it?

You think either Hoosier, failure, major phases gonna get

out with, I was fayza. Okay.

But congrats is your feeling, by the way, for unless you're into

it, but The third is coming now and a huge price 1101 catch.

This one is by the way, shout out.

Rafael bejarano. Yep.

Rides a lot here in Kentucky are really, really accomplished.

I won the writing title, three years.

In a row at Santa Anita. So obviously knows his way

around everything frankly, right?

Good to see him. I've got to hang out with him, a

couple Sundays after after the, the Derby recently, and so good

for him. His story is really interesting.

So he's a, he's a Peruvian. And he, and his dad were trying

to find their way to the basketball stadium for him to go

to basketball. Yeah, we you and I were

listening to this story together when he was telling us, that's

right. And they get lost, right?

They end up at the horse track just to get directions in the

Looks looks rough up and down. It says ever ridden a horse

before son. Two years like literally.

Two years later. He was the right exact quick.

Yeah. Unbelievable.

Just made for it, right? So unbelievable, just he is he's

a great dude. It was his whole family is

basically we met his mom because you could travel because of

covid. Right?

Right. You stuck in the u.s. right?

And so now it was a real pleasure frankly and a good

friend because I mean, he's that level of writer.

I mean, he's definitely a graded Stakes winning writer, so you go

so fayza there with flavor board that mean, it just to me just

shows again that this The champion three-year-old Philly

is so up for grabs em. I mean, I agree.

It is. It's crazy to see how this whole

thing is going to play out. And I don't know if anyone of

them deserve it. Okay, here's here's what I

think's gonna happen. Okay.

We're going to find out that. Who's your Filly?

Just didn't like Fairgrounds. Okay, and she's going to come

back and run big at Churchill. We're gonna have a decision to

make. That's what's gonna happen.

She showed a theremin, he showed a lot better showed at their, it

was good. That was Edgar Morales at

Pimlico for the first time. Yeah.

Right. And she was still great attacks

obviously. Flu buyer.

And did the dating thing, but I mean, I just I think who's your

feelings going to pick up a couple races this year, so you

think who's refills going to have this huge bounce back?

I think she's gonna have a huge bump up.

All right, I think all the jokes everybody made are going to come

back, it's going to come to roost, Mike.

Oh, geez. Well, let's move on.

Let's move on to our handicapping segment of the

show, the exact good job in the replacement.

Thanks to NBC and their YouTube page for all that.

It's it's kind of a light weekend, of course but we got

Churchill racing and we got the kirtana at.

So we're going to give you a sequence of pick five right here

and want to tell people why I went to Churchill instead of

Sanity to which has two great steaks, okay?

The opening leg of late, pick five at Santa, Anita is a twelve

thousand five, hundred dollar car My claimer.

Okay, we don't do that on the show.

I play those but we don't do that on this show.

So we're going to church all this week.

And but I mean do we want to mention anything about the

stakes races? If we was there anything

interesting, how one of them for downhill Sprint?

The only thing I'll say the six-and-a-half.

Furlongs if you read The Forum has a little asterisk next to

it, that tells you is the downhill course at Santa Anita

look for horses that have either run that course well or have one

on that course. Experience, on that course has

everything. It's in India, seven horses in

that. Field.

It is the grade 3 Daytona and only a hundred thousand dollars

for a grade 3 again, because they're required to, as John

Trevor wants. Yeah.

Right. And it's a very, you know, we

have one horse, that's double digit odds.

But the overwhelming favorite in there is what makes Sammy run at

925. Which oh, Bravo bought one last

time out in a steaks on. That course with Joe Bravo was

stalking right off the pace. A worthy favorite, for sure.

And the triple bin Stakes is the other graded Stakes to see you.

Need is seven furlongs These two hundred thousand dollar I think

it's great teachers get to yep. So there's your other one.

Forbidden Kingdom in this race up.

The heavy favorite here, though is Spirit of McKenna James

Robinson, easy rockets in here. Yep, Joe Bravo board, both,

heavy favorites. So Joe Bravo.

I have a day Spirit of McKenna two straight wins.

Last time out was a 74 long Stakes race.

Real chance that you do get a job rawal, double dare, I great.

Yeah there you go. Get that Joe Bravo double it'll

pay solidly like three and a After one, it's Joe Bravo the

best jockey porn star name. Oh um Yes, I'll try to think of

other really good ones. Gary Stevens is a good one for

no reason. Okay.

Because of the death, is it not? Yeah.

I think so. I think it's really good.

Yeah it sounds like it's pretty good.

Yeah yeah I would agree with that.

So yeah. So you know and then Frankie

detorri if you didn't know the porn from that country.

Yeah. Alright okay.

Yeah I'm with you. This is the kind of horse racing

coverage. You get here on the horse

racing, the Joe Bravo's, I mean it's a league of itself.

I mean it's just yeah it is a pretty Elite names.

All right, let's go move on. We're going to start at

Churchill with re7. This is the start of the late.

Pick five main special weight are 120,000 Maiden special

weight compared to the grade 300,000 our race at Santa Anita.

Correct. Mile and 16th on the dirt for

Phil. He's a three-year-old and up, is

it is it even kind of where you can see?

I mean, it's a made special way, so I guess isn't not a good but

an allowance rates of Churchill might be better than those great

threes. It's a needed once in a while.

They are because those purses right field sighs.

What have you so especially from a wedding Back at Ya, yeah.

So, what did the purses draw for this one?

Louis? So, in this case, I think there

are two horses here, the six in the, a that are obvious must

includes the other one though is getting Lasik for the first

time. And is a second time.

Starter in Domina, she's the one here, treatable wins.

The second, start at 29 percent goes Sprinter out at 24 percent.

So, exclude at your own Peril here.

So, I would absolutely include the one as well with those other

two horses with the two favorites, the forever.

Yep. Forever at all at 4:53 with

Corey Lane. Board.

That's the six horse and Tyler gasps Leone is on the eighth

Corsini so in Brendon Walsh. So if you're betting on horse

here, we know which one you're forcing each other so 925 there

in the eighth spot. So the eighth race is an

allowance optional claiming race and by the way, before I totally

apologize for interrupting. Sure.

We're going to be putting out the ticket publicly on the show

today. So if you're watching or not

watching, have never watched it before at the Of the handicapped

exception, the pick five will actually be there.

If you meet these people need to go check out first year in

sports. Yeah, they need to check on

horse racing. Happy our.com, all the links to

first-gen sports.com for sure. Start to check us out.

We're going to have a bunch of NBA coverage.

Starting on Monday. We're expanding our platform

here at the horse-racing habit, or to include.

NBA will have college football, starting on July 1st.

We're opening up a don't call in an Empire.

Mike, but I mean, when you think of look, what do you think of

the Mongols? When you think of the Romans?

You then think of the horse-racing happy hour, but you

know what? A lot of the sports stuff is

getting a little too corporate, and we want to have fun with it.

Well, I want to be sitting at the table, sitting at the bar,

with our nobody's talking Sports.

So first you in sports is 1st G and sports.com.

Hopefully, you check. It would have that exact

lingerie something a ton of NBA finals.

Coverage starting at mother. I just wanted to say that, I'm

going to also include the sequence in the description of

the podcast. There you go, it'll be in the in

that as well. And then of course, you can find

all of that horse. Happy hour to come first

Transport stock. Of course, that does not include

the bron James talk because LeBron James is not in the find

Walt Walt. So the race eight, the optional

claim or a hundred thousand dollars is the cleaning price.

141,000 purse is a mile in the dirt for three-year-olds and up

Louie, who is your pick? I found my single in the

sequence here in the 7A. Kupuna on the outside

technically here for real Gutierrez and Brett Calhoun lost

the The Knicks go black type last time out at this distance

on this course, by 3/4 of a length.

With a 99 speed figure, I'm hoping we'll run it back.

Brett Calhoun, 21 percent under 21 percent, in routes and 22% in

allowances. The two of them.

Not a great number of Churchill to do, hit a 23 percent overall.

So I'm hoping this horse will be our, our linchpin of this Pick 5

will be our single here in this race.

We also see The Return of major fed in this race for sure.

Although there's some names in here, for sure.

Yeah. So major fake coming back.

You do three techniques, the two horse here.

Now, there are names in this. Again, Mike talks about it

because of the person's you're going to see horses here that

you really respect and that could be a real problem.

Race 9 on the card is an allowance optional claiming race

127 thousand dollar per six Furlong Sprint on the dirt.

These are 43 year-old Phillies who have never won a race other

than their mating. So that classifies pretty much

for all three year old Phillies. I'm thinking the world's out

there. So Louis, who's your pick here?

So I think you have to grab a bunch of horses here.

The six is on top for me, it's Fogo Island.

Mike knows one of the angles I love is when a horse breaks it.

Maiden. I love them the next time out

because I think once in a while horses figure out, I could be

out front and that's okay. Fogo Island has only run once it

was over, the Tepee de at Turfway Park.

Mike would have we seen this spring?

We've seen horses translate from Turf way through Keeneland, and

turf way to Churchill period. We saw what to, he'll know, more

be whisper changer boy. It's pretty much over, right?

I mean that at least the transition if you don't like the

product in the fall that or the winner is me, that's fine.

But the transition you cannot besmirch anymore.

This horse has though been working at the thorough training

track on the dirt and so has been able to at least get on

their works. Are good enough for me.

Paula Lobo, El Jurado, Corrales already hitting it 16% at

Churchill, Downs, Geraldo stunning, 20% of Churchill

considering who his mounts are and he's behind Luis saez and

Tyler. That's really impressive.

I think this horse is absolutely the one I have on top Court.

Shout out to lose size for peeing, on the unbelievable.

We didn't talk about that, I know Lisa is got trampled or

looked like he could have gotten trampoline ran from second four

races in a row to close the card, the church, all the next

day, right? In Maryland has to be carried

off on the back on an ambulance of on a backboard and then is in

Churchill the next day racing. So I've got a small barn and

second here's Apple before but they do get Tyler to ride this

horse, Dana LED lights. Just the is the trainer here.

Just major bullet work out at Keeneland recently.

Actually love that about the horse, but it's coming out of an

optional claimer where you ran. Second at Turfway.

Another turquoise printer here. Second off, the layoff first

time Lasix here. We're going to take that angle

as well, so I'll have the four in the second spot.

And then after that, I look at outside of the seven in the

eighth Margo and a bubble bath, do, you know, Margo, do I know,

Margo I taught him are gonna, so this is a very uncomfortable

name, for me. Okay, what do I need to know

about Margo she's in the bubble bath.

Okay, how about that is there is there like a pun?

There, is there a joke? I don't think so.

She won. She won two back at Keeneland

and three back at Fairgrounds did not win her.

Last time out here at Churchill Downs.

Once we're hoping she'll reverse that she's over three lifetime

at Churchill. That's why I have her in the

third spot and then we go to the eighth.

We do get Louis eyes hear with Darrin Miller.

The two of them have never gotten together on a horse, how

about that? Huh?

Okay. But that horse is run very well.

Recently ran second and optional claimer Turfway in January were

giving him a ton of time off during Miller's 13 of his last

12 races on that angle, which I really like.

So I'm going to use those for horses here in the sequence.

Race 10 is the cure Thomas takes.

This is the Main event of the day, two hundred twenty five

thousand dollars for a listed Stakes, mom and a half on the

turf. Am I stressing the purses at

Churchill being so much higher than what you got to do.

But I'm just saying model, half on the turf here for Phillies

and mirrors, four year olds, and up big-time purse here, for this

list of steaks, who do we like in this way?

I think if you wanted to get a price, this is the spot.

And so I have the five Miss year with the 661, not favorite here

in Wilkes and his son-in-law Crystal, and arrows is writing

here, the two of them hitting it.

A terrible percentage at Churchill Downs.

But she's coming out of a mile and a half win at Keeneland, I'm

using another horse immediately after.

I'm using a lot by the way, I think that these races are

pretty difficult to handicap handicap, especially on the

female side. Unless there is an enabler,

something like that. Is there an enable in this

field? No, there is not.

So for is a, is sad field or sin filter, as I'm sure they'll say

without filter for Todd Pletcher Luis saez.

One last time, also, accumulate over a mile and a half, so I'm

taking the two horses that have the experience at The distance.

Mike that have also won at the distance but there are other

horses in here that are interesting shooters that have a

shot that haven't really run well or ever at the distance,

including the to Quality star 12:50 here, Joe talamo's,

Senator Marty McGee. It's another pretty decent porn

name for that's Betty, then it's like Frankie do.

Yeah. It's Frankie by the way, not a

great start to wins but his peppering, the board 5411.

To start his time at Churchill. His meat Telmo did win on this

horse last time out at Keeneland.

I really trust when horses when it Keeneland on that Turf course

that they can win other places and so we'll lean on that as

well has never run a mile and a half, but did win at a mile and

Nathan was closing and then pulled away at the mile and an

eighth, I'm hoping that the extra two furlongs doesn't

bother her at all. After the to I landed on the 7

horse which is lovely. Princess 521 Bryant Hernandez

jr. For Kenny McPeak.

Kenny piece preferred Rider. And so the two of them 18%, Over

the last couple years at Churchill Downs, in a massive

sample size has never run at the distance before, but did run and

win at, Keeneland last time out over a mile, and an eighth

again, in a stalking position. Overtook, the leaders at the

end, it was able to win that race.

They're going to go outside Sparkle.

Blue is the favorite here. 722. I hate to include this horse but

it is my fifth ran in the modesty of Churchill last time

that race in just is this the most great steaks experience out

of any horse in this field. Yes.

So, class going class here possibly ran an American Oaks

last year was right there lost by less than a link with who Joe

Bravo. And so we get, vessel shamino

here, who's already hitting it, 15% at Churchill Downs, Grand

motion is shipping for this race twice to Churchill Downs.

I think he thinks he has something here.

Drops out 118 pounds, carrying a lot less weight.

I'm interested to see this horse here, by the way, the last time

they ran a horse together at this track, they want.

Alright, so I'm interested in that, I'll conclude all five of

those here. Alright, now we've talked about

how much we like raft over hirano.

But in the 11th race in this at Allianz optional are them.

Starting making special hundred. Twenty thousand dollar sixty a

long spoon on the dirt remains three year olds and up.

He's riding wouldn't exitos horses.

Ha ha ha begone. Oh, oh.

Oh, we get it. Nick, we get it.

You're Italian. Yeah, but this is, that was like

so awesome, me convenience. He was nice to me.

So, you know, I'm gonna go to the sentimental.

A long shot pick right here with the two horse, although probably

the one of the eights going to win this race, right?

I Greed. No actually.

I think the once a favorite, I think the 11s the section 811

now. Okay.

Yes, paddington's. The first time started for Brad

Cox, he hits those at 24%, although the Azores was Mafia,

ha ha ha didn't mean to do that one.

All right, if you wanted to go skinnier on this ticket, use the

one. Yeah.

But I think there's a chance that the 11 jumps up and wins

here at it's never an accident that Brad Cox enters a horse

like this, right? And so I went 111 here, the pick

five is up on the screen 60 bucks to play.

You can, you can trim or add in different legs if you want to,

but that's at least my, a ticket there for the big five.

All right, well, that pay 60 bucks the whole way more.

It will pay way more than 60 bucks.

Alright? Alright, so there you go, you

have lose word that you put 60 bucks.

That they wave or at least seventy one dollars.

He said there you go. Maybe 75 so whoa.

Whoa, so definitely worth the risk.

Well, no, this time next week we're going to the mailbox Yeah,

I don't think I'm going well no we as a committee.

Sorry I was a kid. Yeah, I mean let's just get the

king bed little spooning. The reality of the situation is

I have to talk my wife into going to New York, on our

anniversary for me to even have a shot at going Lowered.

Expectations. I would love to go to New York,

Marshall University. I don't know.

A little Bagel will Pizza, don't know we'll get her in that was

just today. Oh, you're tough Broadway show.

But yeah, I don't I don't know what's going to happen.

Well, Shank I've kind of sad actually dropped it a couple

times that's not working. As I told her that Forte's

running, you know, that might be incentivized to go and so far

nothing, nothing. Any part of North, we work those

hats so much reporter. I'm wearing it all the time.

I think part of it, too. Then he gets to represent Team

USA. So whoa, Judo and jiu do how

about that? And then that's quite the Judo

West, isn't it? He is he's metal at the US Open

every time. He's gone.

So credible. I'm very proud of him.

You know. Yeah, my kids like chess.

I like chess. So that's what I that's my

counter. That that's a great game is

fantastic. Even played it non-stop last.

So yeah, so that we got that going on so we'll see.

I think that's the other part of this, my kids.

They're amazing at parkour and little parkour or alright.

Our core of three, American Ninja Warrior Zach's house and

Minecraft. Can you do our neighbor across

the street built in American? Ninja Warrior like training

facility, correct? Like like, see trying to get on.

No, I think he's just weird. Okay, I like them a lot.

My kids hang out there a lot, but it's not what you put in

your backyard. Yeah.

Yeah. That parkour stuff.

Looks like it's just not for me it's it's one of those things.

He's just going to find a six-year-old smoking pot out

there. I think that's what it is.

Okay. Yeah, that's what it's for,

yeah. Well, Parkour in Minecraft

letter grade. Your trip, to Preakness.

Yeah, I mean, I've now that you look back if you've had five

days to think, I mean it was a good experience, I'm glad I

went. Yep.

It was a solid be okay. Yeah I think you had a B+ and

you don't know it. I think he could have been a B+.

I think my expectations of downtown Baltimore was its way

crappier than yeah but then what I thought it was gonna be and

the area around Pimlico is way nicer than what I thought was

gonna be here and the people at Pimlico Unbelievable.

Were fantastic Sosa Mica also because I mean, listen, I'm

serious. Like everyone involved.

What was the name of that? High School?

Zack? Help me out, was a Cristo Rey

Cristo Rey, Brothers. All right, baby, there we go.

Alright, Shadows of Cristo Rey High School in Baltimore, so but

seriously, like, even when we show up on Friday, we don't have

our parking passes and we don't know where to go and all that

stuff. No one was like a complete total

jerk. Oh, I couldn't sit on Tuesday, I

couldn't park at Churchill Downs, right?

And this had the security guard when I'm trying to get on the

backside of my media pass. He would let me do it, let me in

on Monday because the opposite, yeah, it was the complete and

total opposite as far as that goes and the people in the

credentialing office. Even when I didn't have one, I

had to show them a text message. Yeah.

And they were like we get it, you're good know.

It is parking our second day was kind of that way.

We kind of. Yeah so you're right.

The yeah, the woman there that. Yeah.

So it was overall like all that stuff was fantastic and jungle.

Hey Danny. I like all those people.

Yeah be too. Well can walk in.

In Shadows because he's so tall for sure.

What can that taller than me? You think he is?

I don't think he is closed. You know, getting see flatter

and chervil which is always fun. It is weird that I have to

travel to Baltimore. I just realized that DeRosa if

that wasn't there. He was not there, he put up

pictures like he was but he wasn't there.

So there we go. That's the Pimlico recap.

That's the Preakness recap. I would say that I will be back.

Yeah. Well, how different hotel and

we'll hang out. We'll do an Airbnb or something.

Yeah, sure. That would be a lot of fun

actually. Well, you also didn't go out to

the neighborhood bar with us. I did not go to the Poorhouse.

Yeah, to Peter's poorhouse. Shout out to them.

It's like you didn't get the full neighborhoods but yeah,

I've been pretty much did not think it was.

Good idea to be walking around from our hotel at night time.

So I bought a beer falsely on Thursday and walked outside of

1:30 in the morning and walk back to our hotel with it.

I treated Baltimore like New Orleans multiple times that you

did multiple times, shot was your choice.

Bob was robbed like totally mortified that I did that.

No, Ok, good. OK, not at all.

Alright. That's it for today.

Zach play the music. We'll see you next time.

This is the horse race and happy hour.

Yes, Closing time. Open.

Horse Racing Happy Hour
