If you can't be at the Eclipse Awards, work during them.
It's it's a horse racing happy hour hanging out with you.
His name's Barry. His name's Josh.
His name is Danny. And I'm Lou Rabo.

show. We're going to go through the
pick six there at Gulfstream Park on Saturday ahead of the
10th running of the Pegasus World Cup.
All right? We're going to put Josh in a
terrible spot. What was this race called
before? It was the Pegasus, Josh.
Oh man, it's the something. It's the something the the Don
Handicap. Look at you look.
At this Adam. Don with two ends, here we are
today. By the way, if you are kicking
around tomorrow morning, I will have Brian Adobe set some
morning lines at Gulfstream Park on the show tomorrow.
REBO Edco here in in Louisville at ESPN 680 and 105.7.
Make sure you are tuned in every Friday for that.
Barry joins me from the Horse Racing Happy Hour, that's where

at at forbesandalso@horseracingscoop.com.
So make sure you check out all of our guys.
Jets. Thanks for coming back.
How's everybody doing? I'll start with Danny, your stud
from Smyrna. How are you man?
Are you doing all? Right.
I'm doing really, really good. You know, what I'm wondering is
what line, what side of the snow I'm going to be on?
I saw the, I saw the, the, the thing on the it's crazy, isn't
it crazy? You and me about to get killed,
Daddy. Yeah, it's over.
That's talking to be good in this part of the country and
all. Barry, I I was talking to Brian
on Monday. It was in the 40s at Gulfstream.
I mean, what was it doing at your house bro?
My Lord, it was under 40 at my house.
We, we hit 38 and and I couldn't function.
I, I, I just can't. But today it was 80.
Barry is the iguana on this show and back to eating for him.
Yes, you are very much and Josh Rodriguez, the opposite of what
are whatever an iguana is there in Chicago joins us for the
evening again on the Wrong Lead podcast.
Josh, how are you man? Are you doing all?
Right. Yeah, still recovering from that
brutal loss this last weekend. Man, I, I thought, I thought
they were going to turn it around, but you know, this will
cheer me up. You know, this is this is a
great card and I'm really excited to talk talk through
talk to this card. So.
Yeah, no doubt about it. Thanks for hanging out with us.
We are here most Thursdays on the program.
You can catch Barry and me most Fridays on the program as well
doing a doing a a preview of racing in Southern California.
I'll I'll welcome to this platform tomorrow.
John Shirva from the LA Times will open with a discussion of
the the seizing of the machines there at Gulfstream Park
tomorrow as well. That'll air at 2:00 Eastern
Time, 11:00 Pacific will go live with that one as well.
Gentlemen, as we look at the the pick 6 here late in the card,
Danny, what kind of player do you find yourself?
Are you going to take a stab at this?
Pick 6. Well, of course I am.
They're, they're talking $4 million purse.
I mean, potentially, you know, they, they, they think that it
may be a pool of, of $4 million plus.
So you dead gum right at $0.20 a play.
I think you have to, if you're any kind of horse player at all,
you have to have a pick 6 ticket, you know, be at $0.20 a
play. I think it it's a it's it's a
must. Yeah, no, it should be a lot of
fun. Barry.
What? You're going to be there.
How do you think you're going to be mixing up your bets?
You can be sticking. You're more of a double S and
exacta kind of player in my history with you.
We can stick with the double S this weekend.
Yeah, double S pick threes. I I might actually take a shot
at this pick 6 just because, you know, if I'm right, you know a
couple of races it it could be lucrative.
So why not take a stab with a smaller ish type ticket?
You know, don't go overboard. Save some for the rest and see
what we get. But for you, Josh, what are you
looking forward to as far as wagering on the card?
You know, we'll, we'll talk about it I think at the end of
the card, but or the end of the show, but I'm going to be most
likely attacking the turf pick three that they have here.
If you've if you've seen me anywhere, you know, I love these
$3 pick threes. I love $1.00 pick fours, $1.00
pick fives, those higher, those higher base bat type things.
So I think the three dollar pick three, I got a real strong
opinion in one of the races. So that's where I'm going to be
attacking, I think most likely. When you hang out with Danny,
you learn terms like back a horse and get paid and have a
hunch. Bet a bunch we'll do a bunch of
that tonight here on the program.
Josh talking about his hunches there.
We will make sure we get to those for sure.
Again, Barry Spears, Josh Rodriguez, Danny, Danny, Danny,
Danny. I went to see a different guy,
Danny Gronfeld today. He helps me with my car.
Danny here, you're a Danny in southern middle part of
Tennessee and you are not a Danny Brewer, not a Danny
Gronfeld. So there you go.
Thanks for joining us here on the program tonight.
Let's get straight to it. The Hooper kicks off the late
pick six. It is a grade three.
They are going a mile over the one turn mile there at
Gulfstream Park. If you don't bet down there too
often, $175,000 on the line here.
And Danny, this is the time of year where we see 4 and up and
we see a bunch of newly aged into 4 year olds in this case.
But we get an interesting starter here in Life and Times.
Only his third start ever. Didn't get his first one until
November. Excuse me, Christ, December of
his four year old year, he'll be amongst the favorites here.
Do you like him in the spot? I think he is definitely a horse
that you can play. The inexperience, you know that
kind of, I don't know about when you talk about going grade 3
level with this type of atmosphere, how's he going to
play? How's he going to perform under
this type of microscope? And I'm not sure.
So I think he's a horse that's definitely worth having on your
ticket. I'm looking elsewhere.
I think that this may be where I may start my pick six with a
single in this race. You know, I, I think that that
if you're looking at the pick 6, I think I think Knights bridge
is a a logical single here. When you look at what he did
last time out in the Mr. Prospector.
He he just won for fun. I mean, you know, he he made it
look really, really easy. So he's six times in the money,
four wins, a second and a third and six career starts.
So I think Knights bridge is where I will go if I'm going to
play a favorite. And I mean this is all like all
these races men, there's lots of competition here.
So there's other ways you can go.
But you know, I may start my pick 6 ticket off with a single
with Knights bridge. He's.
Starting the pick six with number six there, Knights
Bridge, son of Nyquist, in this case, one of our Derby winner
kids in this place here alongside the one of course, a
son of Justify in Life and Times.
Barry, if you were going to throw 1 downfield in this spot,
where do you think you'd look? Probably only One Direction.
I don't really think there's much in this beyond Life and
Times and Knightsbridge, but I would take a second look at
Nelson Ave. They they may get the Crip, may
get the trip, just fall into a nice trip with those two up
front kind of Ding Dong. And if that does develop,
there's a there is some other speed in here.
But I I feel like Nelson Ave. is probably the best closer still.
Sunshine has some of that in them, but just isn't able to
finish races off. Yeah, it's a fascinating one in
Nelson Ave. because we saw him in that 40 niner.
He lost to Bishops Bay, and I don't know about you guys.
Bishops Bay might be the best mileage on dirt right now going
in the United States. So losing that race by less than
a length to me is not a knock on that horse.
I agree here, Josh #9 the one to watch for the long shots.
You have another long shot you like in here.
No, I basically see this race exactly how you guys do 1-6 and
nine and you know, I honestly, because of that, that's kind of
the reason why I'm shying away from the pick six.
You know, I I hate when I look at a race and I'm like, all
right, I can't distinguish between the two favorites.
I got lots of questions between the two favorites, which makes
me not want to use them. But at the same time, you know,
I I just couldn't really make much sense from this race.
Honestly, like if I were playing the tournament or something I
would be keen around this 9. I think that's probably going to
be your value in here. That last race, super
productive, 3 winners coming out of that.
So I I like the nine in the spot.
Yeah, Nelson Ave. for sure. Flavia and Pratt will be a bunch
aboard a bunch of interesting courses on Saturday at
Gulfstream Park. We are previewing the late Pick
6 here. Josh, how dare you ask funny
things in the private chat. We move on to Race 9.
It is the McKnight. It is a grade 3:00 and we are
going 1 1/2 miles on the turf course there, which means three
turns at Gulfstream Park, $225,000 on the line.
Here. We go to Josh for this one.
And Josh, I love these kinds of races.
My general thought about these kinds of races is you grab as
many as you can or man, you just no, you have a hunch about a
bunch. You push all in on one horse.
In this case, what do you think you'll end up doing in the
McKnight? Yeah, this was a tough race
because when you look at this race, you kind of got a a
combination of horses that I think want to go this distance
and horses that we're not really sure.
And you know, I I think the favorite in this spot, the three
Ohana honor coming in here looks looks pretty good in this spot.
You know, it seems to be the most consistent of the short
price horses in here. So I'll I'll have ohana honor on
most my tickets. And then the other horse I
actually really like in the spot is the one Zverev here.
I read Ortiz, he's fit to ride for Mike maker.
I mean, all Mike maker knows how to do is get these horses to
run, you know, all day going around the turf.
And you know, if you look at this horse's last three races,
it's come in here three straight wins at, you know, a couple
different distances on the synthetic in on the turf, bunch
of different tracks. So he seems to have a game that
that travels right. I rads he's fit to ride here.
And Saturday I rad is a much different beast than Thursday or
Friday. I rad.
So I I I really like the one in here and and really the only
other horse I'll probably include is going to be the 6th
Miss the cut. Bobby Bona sends this one out.
Edgar Zayas get gets the mount, not a horse that likes to win a
ton, but does have some back races that fit here.
And I do think, you know, this is a horse that has shown a
little bit of tactical speed at times.
So it's really going to be, you know, is this horse going to be
tactical and kind of, you know, get get himself a little bit
forward. I think with someone like Zia as
a board, you would think so, although last time, you know,
Zia has did did choose to kind of sit very, very far off,
albeit that was in a much shorter trip.
But I'll I'll have most of my money through the 1:00 and 3:00
and then I'll have a couple of tickets with the six.
Barry, I know you have a strong opinion about this race as well.
I know the six will be on your tickets as we get to Saturday.
Where else are you looking in this race?
Yeah, I I definitely want to use the six in this spot.
That horse went to Ascot and then after that those three
races, the Mechter Gerometer. I think that's how you say it.
Either way, the Elkhorn and the Louisville didn't get ideal
trips in any of those and met a razor sharp Utah beach at that
time. The layoff makes a lot of sense.
They came back, ran a pretty good race.
I thought it looked good last time, yeah.
Even though they didn't win and I think it sets them up very,
very well here, but I'm going to go to the outside with
Hammerhead. I think this horse is is one of
the ones that are quote UN quote on the rise.
This horse was keeping pretty good company.
Lost to test score last year in April and from there kind of did
some weird kind of class drops and then back up in class.
But the last race in particular was was very good.
They capitalized on a on a pretty good setup and they may
be able to get that same setup. I think the attractor of getting
Jose Ortiz is very, very big in this sense.
I just think this horse might be sitting on a pretty good race.
Everything kind of sets up for it.
It's just a matter of working out a trip in a race that Ohana
Arnold is probably going to take more money than they should
given the record on that horse with a lot of seconds.
I can't really trust a horse like that.
I'm willing to throw 1 downfield, use the 12 and and
see what we get. Danny, Strong opinion in this
one. I'm with Barry.
I like Hammerhead mile and a half win the last time synthetic
to turf. You know, that can be an
interesting play sometimes. And he he went on synthetic at
Woodbine and like Barry said, he he ran a really strong race and
Jose Ortiz. I mean, I'm right there with
Barry on this one. Hammerhead.
That's kind of where I I'm going to look for a value play in this
one, and Hammerhead will be on my pick 6 ticket.
I'm fascinated by Oysan Murphy being here and riding Devantropo
in this one, the French bread for Safi Joseph Junior.
And this is one that's tried the distance a couple of times, not
to a lot of success. And I think Murphy's the kind of
guy that at the distance, you know, when you're going 12
furlongs, you need a guy who's properly patient, keeps a horse,
you know, in the proper position as well.
This is a horse that's always right there, just doesn't get
over the line. And once in a while a good
jockey will get them there. I'm looking for Devantropo, the
old gelded 6 year old son of George Vancouver.
But I think great horses. I think the sons of great,
great, you know, the great, great Vancouver.
That's what I think of. So I'm glad everyone's on the
same page with me there for sure.
But that was the big night states.
Grade 3, we move on to race 10, one of the first of the Pegasus
World Cup Series. This is the Philly and Mayor
Turf Invitational is 1 mile and a 16th on the turf, of course,
Grade 2 and we're running for a half, $1,000,000 in this spot.
A bunch of race runners that we know in here.
Barry will go to you first in this one, including an
interesting shipper. I'm fascinated to see Caitlin,
her greatness in this spot, Barry, But boy, I'm glad they're
trying at least. Who did you land on this one?
Yeah, I thought this race is is one of the high chaos factor
races there. There's a lot going on.
A lot of these horses would have a shot to win and I think the
the odds board is going to play that out.
That being said, the horse that I would pick on top would be the
three Destino de Oro. I like that last race in the
tropical Park Oaks off the layoff from October to December.
I like horses that do this when they come back off the layoff
running similar to what they were before the layoff.
There's usually a jump up in in speed figures and and
improvement. Being a newly turned 4 year old,
I think there's still that in there and this race can go a lot
of different ways. I think there's some speed,
especially coming from the outside, and I think Destino de
Oro could get a really good trip for Brad Cox.
Justina de Oro 12 to one, Junior Alvarado picks up the mount
here. Did win the tropical Park Oaks,
as Barry points out last time. This is also horse Barry to to
further your point, came off the bench at Churchill in June of
last year, one against winners for the first time and then came
back in the pucker up second start off the bench at Ellis.
It's a grade 3. That's one of their frankly one
of their best races at Ellis Park over the summer.
Went ahead and won that one as well.
This is a similar cycle here. Getting that up in the second
one here. Bear, Excuse me, Danny, we go to
you next. Anyone else in here told the
one? That's a good way to start this
conversation. Well, I think this is the race,
one of the races why you play the Pick 6, because this can a
tremendously valued horse can win this and Jack that ticket
way up Proctor St., that's who I'm on.
Brendan Walsh, Tyler Gaffley on 1/2 in a row, that combination.
I love the Brendan Walsh title gathlon, which that'll be in one
of my other race I talk about same combination, but Proctor
St. that's who I'm on 12 to one. Love it.
You know, like I said, this is this race is why you want to
play the Pick 6, because it's so balanced and I think that you're
going to get good odds on everybody.
Yeah. You get a horse like this one, a
$300,000 Listed stakes at Churchill, last out before that,
the highest level allowance they run at Keeneland.
I cut someone off and I wasn't trying to do that.
Who? Was I, oh, it was me.
I was going to say I had the idea that Proctor Street is
probably going to be like second choice in this race, three out
of the last four. We'll see though.
I, I mean, you know, just like I alluded to earlier, this could
go a lot of different ways. You, you never know, a horse
like Heredia could actually get some action and it could throw a
lot of the the odds board off and we'll see.
I mean, this is, this is a really tough race to gauge all
the way around anyway. We yeah, I'm sorry Louis, but
but but you know Proctor St. Barry, were you surprised 12 to
one on the morning line on Proctor St.
Yeah, Yeah. I think that was a little high.
I mean those three races or four that this horse is coming out of
the last four were very, very good.
And then before that was was keeping good form against good
company. I think 12 to 1 might be a
stretch, especially with Brendan Walsh.
The connections, everything it it seems a little high.
I, I do have a prediction for Saturday.
I think at some point Tyler's going to win a race in the pick
6 and it's going to be a double digit odds.
It's just this is Barry, you know, this is where he grew up.
And I, I think at some point he's just going.
To pay more of these things off. Maybe, who knows, that kind of
thing. Josh, you got 1 of this one.
Yeah, I mean, I, I, I do like a couple of the logicals in the 7W
decision and the 11 in our time. I mean, I'm going to have those
on my my tickets. I honestly a horse that you guys
haven't talked about yet that I'm actually really interested
in is the 9 Crevaldoro. You know, Jose DeAngelo trains
this one and you know, you want to talk about horses that are
that like to win. I mean, this is a horse that won
at Gulfstream last time out in the in 150K listed stakes there
won a nice race at Kentucky Downs, you know, close to the
pace. And and I think that, you know,
I think 12 to one seemed like a, you know, maybe a bit of an
overlay in the spot. I mean, I'm looking on time form
figs and this is a horse that is maybe tied for second fastest in
this field. Now, granted, we have a lot of
horses I think that that have run that like 1/21/21 type
figure. But you know, I'll take my shot
here with Jose Dangelo. I mean the man, you know, he
knows how to train a horse and you know, it's his backyard.
So so I like the nine in this spot.
I'll use the 7:00 and 11:00 and then I'll also have a bit of the
four the Clemont horse with Oysine Murphy aboard.
You know, this is a horse that that started off the year, you
know, with a couple of wins and and although at Del Mar wasn't
able to to win those last two races, actually looked like like
speed figure wise was improving here.
So first time out for the six year old here off of a you know,
about almost a 60 day layoff. I I actually really liked the
spot for this horse, so I'll have that one on my ticket as
well. That one I actually it might
actually go up in price because of the the connections and and
this horse hasn't really run that great in graded stakes
company. I think it's only come two
lengths off the lead, finished second a few times.
But you know, it's not like anybody in this race can't
improve enough to win. And that's really where the
dilemma is in this race because you have horses that are really
kind of running the same figures.
Like Josh alluded to, it's a matter of a lot of other factors
that would get a horse in the winner's circle, and it's not
necessarily the speed. I wanted to ask all of you who
inherits the lead in this race? Outside.
Is it in our time? Yes.
I think so. OK.
Because I think there's another option and it's another Ortiz.
And I think it's, yeah, I think it's classic Q.
And I wonder with that horse who showed very well in the Mrs.
Revere last time at Churchill, if the mile and an eighth won't
be too much. I wonder if Jose won't trail
right behind. I read and those two will just
be on the lead. I think there's a real chance
that that's what the scenario is here in the classic Q, just gets
a spot to jump. The other one that I think is
really interesting is already, if we've not hit the all button
yet, we're getting really close, but we saw this one.
I will ask for Graham Motion back on his side of things here
in Florida. Really good work last time at
Palmettos. And so just interested to see
this one. Damn near picked off the first
lady. There were six horses in that
blanket finish at Keeneland in the fall in the Grade 1 and and
she was right there. I am fascinated to see her at
this distance trying to pick up the pieces toward the end.
Louis Honestly, if the Ortiz's were flipped and the other Ortiz
was on on the the 11 horse, I would be backing up the the
money truck on that 11. OK, I, I mean, I, I love Irad
Ortiz, but nothing makes me more nervous than seeing him than
seeing him on a speed horse. Like, I don't know man.
I don't trust the 11 at all in this spot.
I I think that's a, that's a horse that needs those 7 1/2
furlong races at Gulfstream. That's that's what he needs.
That's the kind of horse that that she is.
I, I really do think that about her in this spot.
Moving on to the late pick three, the insider info.
How about that is a grade A2 and seven furlongs on the dirt,
essentially the female side of the of the why am I forgetting
names of races at this point of the Hooper, excuse me?
And so in this case, the insider info, 7 furlongs on the dirt,
they're running for $225,000 in this one.
And I think this is the Danny you're going to go first here.
I think this is the highest morning line favorite that we
have made by our guy Brian Nadeau down there.
Jodie's Pride comes in at 4:00 to 1:00.
We last saw this one on the turf.
Boy oh boy, Danny, if you wanted to know a Grade 2 that's got a
just a difficult spot to to handicap, it might be this one
with a favorites coming out of a mile race on the turf.
Right. Well, I think that, yeah, the
one that the race with the Chad Brown Horse whiskey decision,
that was your, your, your bane in high school with the whiskey
decision was 9 to 2. So he's 4 1/2 to 1.
So, so I think that's a higher, little bit higher odd.
But anyway, getting back to the point of this race, yeah, I'm
gonna go with your Tyler Gafflione double digit odds
horse winning one Magic Philly. The Brendan Walsh Tyler Gafflion
combination again, one Magic Philly had maybe something to do
with your whiskey decision. I don't know.
But anyway, I like 1 Magic Philly in here.
I think that it's a wide open race.
You're right, absolutely wide open.
Yeah, she was good in the in the up here in the Chaluki.
We saw her a couple of months ago in November as a four year
old and just Shreddinar at that point she was just flying and
certainly that was over a mile as well.
A little different tactics than we'll see on Saturday, Josh, but
I I think she's shown that one Magic Philly.
She's OK without LASIK. She can do the thing.
She's been favored her last two races as well, or it was at
least the last time out. Is it an interesting one here?
Where'd you end up planning in this one though?
Yeah, You know, I had a hard time with this race and and like
I said, I had a hard time with a lot of the dirt races, which is
why I'm I'm really going to be keen in on the turf races here.
But you know, I think I landed on the 6th beyond belief as my
top pick in this race. And you know.
Joe in town? Let's go.
All right. You know I forgot this is the.
Gulf strip we got. Here I was going to say he
resides here now. I mean, a lot of people from
Jersey are moving down to Florida so but man you.
Blame him. Taylor's all the time, baby.
Beyond belief, honestly, like this is just another one of
those races where you kind of look and you see figures that
you know it, it's hard to pick apart, Hey, like where you know
who's running better right now. And I mean, it's hard to to go
against a horse that's won two straight races at this exact
trip, you know, at this track and, you know, keeps keeps Joe
Bravo aboard. You know, I, I think this is a
horse that is kind of turned it around here a little bit and run
her two best races here. So I I do think that that she'll
be she'll be primed to go. I also took a look at the two
necessity as another one who's, you know, I I think it's just
it's just started getting good at the end of last year and
really excited to see what kind of step forward this horse can
possibly take into her four year old season.
And then the last one I'll be using the 11 grand job.
I mean, outside speed in this race looks to be the speed of
the speed. Junior gets a board for Bill
Mott. I mean, you know, I'll I'll take
a shot. You know, I at least I'll I'll
get a route for four furlongs or so while this horse is is in the
front, you know, has back races that absolutely fit and and and
win here. I mean, I'm look going back to
Churchill Downs in 2024. I mean that race, if, if she's
able to, to go back to that race, I mean she wins this race,
but you know, we're we're we're going kind of far back, but you
know, you're getting 6 to 1. So I think you're going to get,
I think you're going to get your price on that one.
So I, I'm going to be against the, the, you know, the favorite
in this race and, and I'll have the two, the 6th and the 11th.
Barry, are you going to follow suit?
Try to beat the chalk here. Absolutely.
That's that's like my middle name, right?
Yeah, but nine to two for chalk is is pretty.
That's OK chalk dog like that's that's an OK thing to get here,
isn't it? No, nothing.
Don't. Listen, yeah, I thought that's
going to happen, but I'm glad Josh was talking about grand job
being the speed of the speed because I I feel the same way.
That being said, I'm gonna go to the outside of that one and
Verity I I, I think this horse is is is another one that came
off the bench, ran a really good race last time.
We'll probably get a really good setup and been training over at
Tampa seem to have some good reports coming out on this horse
shipping over to Gulfstream, getting Vincent Shamano, the,
you know, the regular rider. I think this horse is sitting on
a good race in a in a field that's sort of so, so because
typically I would like a horse like Indy Bay, but I I think
Irad is just going to have to do too much in order to get that
horse across the finish line first.
And a lot of it has to do with the post position.
The 12 has a much kinder trip and and I think they they'll
capitalize on that and and kind of glue themselves to the hip of
grand job or as close as they can and be able to finish late.
Jodi's pride is in here. I made fun of that horse.
I'm going to be including her in all of my my wagers here.
She was in this race last year. Here's the miss the finish, all
of them within a neck Mystic Lake Emory and Jodi's Pride.
I submit to this group. I don't think there's a horse of
the quality of Mystic Laker Emery in this in this group.
And so I do think she's the most talented of them.
However, she is coming off the bench and she's getting back on
the dirt. I have good news.
She's got a couple bullets and she moved back to the dirt for
training. And so I hope I'm hopeful that
those are things I disagree with you about.
I read getting in eBay over the over the finish line.
I think that that horse will be there.
I love the 11 in here, Josh. I think a lot of grand jobs.
I think the placement here makes a lot, a lot of sense for this
one and so hopefully we'll get the job there.
So 1/3 or one, I say 1, three, yeah, 13 and 11 in my tickets as
we move forward late double starts with race 12.
It is the Pegasus World Cup Turf, 1,000,000 bucks on the
line in this one. And of course, we are going a
mile and an eighth on the turf. 4 and up is the condition for
this one. We go to Josh first in here and
boy, if you want to chase prices in a turf race, I got good news.
You can do it in here for sure, Josh.
My absolute favorite horse and training is in this race.
Barry's already laughing because he already knows he's he's seen
he's seen the messages. But I mean, look, Santa Anita
and Del Mar 2 very different services, right?
Del Mar hate hate speed at Del Mar turf doesn't seem to Santa
Anita much more speed favoring. Well, you know what's even more
speed favoring than the Santa Anita turf?
It's the Gulfstream Park turf, and you know who's gonna be
loose on the front end if it ain't no Cabo Spirit with Money
Mike Smith aboard. Let's go.
I'm telling you this. This.
Horse. Just spirit?
Nothing. Nothing exactly.
And you know what? You're.
Doing nothing? Yeah.
I got this is a this is a lone a this is single.
This is I'm gonna be singling this horse in the turf.
Pick three. It's gonna be the payoff for me.
So, yeah, I just you know, when this horse gets loose on the
lead, this horse just doesn't run a bad race.
I mean, you you look back on time form this horse is running
in the low one 20s Every time this horse gets on the lead.
Mike Smith's got one way to go And you know, George, Papa
Bodromo's got this one got this one running.
Well, I mean one that San Gabriel and you know, one it
under a little bit of pressure. I mean didn't exactly, you know,
just coast along there. I mean he went and and he held
on. I mean he was opening up there
at the end a little bit. So I I love the a Cabo spirit
and and honestly, the only other horse that I I might have any
bit of is going to be the horse all the way on the outside.
The 12 Fort Washington. I like him.
I think the 12 Fort Washington went a little bit under the
radar last year. You know, you, you kept on
getting like 5 to 1, nine to two on this horse.
I remember when we did our Arlington million thing, I was
like, this horse has run one bad race and all of a sudden, you
know, no one's betting this horse.
I, I mean, I think that this horse is legit maybe a little
questionable what kind of pace this horse is gonna get to run
into 'cause this is gonna be a horse that's gonna be closing.
But I mean, we've seen this horse closing on slow paces
before. So I got the a Cabo Spirit as a
lone a single. And then, you know, I'll
probably have at least one Sabre ticket with the 12 Fort
Washington on it. Danny, is there a world in which
we're just looking past program trading and overthinking this
race? I mean, I'm with Josh.
I think Cabo Spirit is a an super honest racehorse.
Papa Podromo is having an excellent year so far.
I mean, like I said, he's been really, really good big money.
Mike Smith, he hits the gas pellet Freeman well.
And if they let if they leave him alone on the lead, it's good
night, Irene. I mean, I'm I'm with Josh Cabo
Spirit, I think is going to be the value play and I hope nobody
in South Florida recognizes that and he and he just goes up and
odds because I think he could be double digit or I'm hoping he is
double digit by the by post time.
You know, I like the other West Coast horse, Phil d'amato
Almendaris. You know, Ristoli is a really,
really good turf rider and I think that this horse is one
that I've seen running extremely well out there on the West Coast
before. So I think, you know, if Cabo
Sprit gets out there and somebody push him and the pace
is really hot, I think he can really come flying at the end
and maybe get there. And, and I think Fort Washington
is a good horse, too. I think he's like Josh said,
he's very underrated. I think he he's extremely good.
I'm surprised he's 12:50 on the morning line.
I'm seeing at least 3-4 now horses shipping from the West
Coast just for this race, which is awesome.
Barry Oh, test score was just out West too, I should say.
Program trading, of course, just ran in the Breeders Cup.
Where'd you land in this one? Barry, I think a tricky one.
If you want to make it tricky and if you want it to be simple,
I'm sure you can make the case that it's simple.
I'm making it super simple here. I just think program trading
lays over this field honestly just much better.
The pace dynamics really won't matter in this race, I don't
believe, unless it's really, really lopsided in Cabo Spirit's
favorite, which I don't think it's going to be.
I, I, I'm pretty sure most of the people in this race aren't
just going to concede a really big easy lead.
I think they'll be close enough. And as a matter of circumstance,
I want to see Cabo Spirit duplicate that effort.
He's going to have to prove it, especially coming cross country
as a 7 year old. There's a lot of things not
going in his favor, but there are things that are in his
favor. So he's a tough read for me.
But I'm going to side against and knowing what Chad Brown does
with these type of horses, it's hard to ignore and and I think
we will get that 5:00 to 2:00. Oh yeah, I I think there's at
least a chance. By the way, off the bench
program trading last year Hollywood Derby grade one win
this 20 2023-2024 Turf Classic Churchill Downs Grade one off
the bench win runs of the Manhattan takes some time off,
Comes back in the Baruch at a mile and a 16th.
If that race were at a mile and an eighth would have been a win.
Lost to Donegal. Momentum, who's not a bad horse,
comes back next out in the Turf Mile that Keeneland loses to
Rhetorical, who was very, very good.
If that race is at a mile in an eighth, he probably wins that
one as well. They try him in the Breeders Cup
mile because they know he ain't going a mile in an eighth.
Ain't nobody beating Ethical Diamond, you understand me?
Ain't nobody beating Ethical Diamond around here.
And so that's how that goes for sure.
Man. Oh man, that's that's a fun
race, man. I'm glad that it is late in the
card there as well. Let's do it.
Let's go to the Pegasus. It's race 13.
It will close the card there at Gulfstream Park.
No get out race on in this case 3,000,000 bucks on the line 4
and up we're going to mile and Nate the defending champ is in
here and a horse named white abario.
How many races guys each of you can answer does white abario run
after this race? Zero.
OK, Josh, I'm. Going to go with 0.
Danny. I think it depends on what he
does, you know, I, I, I think on how it depends on how he runs,
but he, he could maybe run again, we don't know.
OK. All right, let's go through the
field one at a time here. Disco time.
The Juddmont, of course homebred winner the Dwyer last out has
never raced against older horses, but did win the Saint
Louis Derby and the Dwyer last year in his two of his three
runs. He also won the La Compte on the
way to the Derby trail before needing some time off till
September. Disco Time Can he win this race,
Barry? Absolutely, but there's a lot of
speed, right? Not that he needs to be on the
lead or anything, but he definitely is going to be close.
And for a horse that's going into this kind of company for
the first time, those internal fractions might cook disco time
enough to have that horse kind of fade a little bit at the end
of this race. You know, I, I think he has a
shot, but I, I wouldn't take him at a short price like this.
Lower than 8 to 5 or higher than 8 to 5.
By the time we get to post, you think?
Probably a little higher. I think a little higher too.
I think 2:00 to 1/5 to 2 is probably the number there.
Josh Disco time you give him a shot here.
Yeah, it's my lone A in the spot.
I I get it. I get it, I get it.
I get it. Sound reluctant?
I am reluctant because I got like five horses behind them,
right? But like, I it's just it just,
it just makes the most sense in this spot, I mean.
No, he definitely does. I mean, on paper, but there's I
just have some questions, especially drawing that post,
you know, Ferrang into grade one company for the first time.
There's. I mean, this field isn't stellar
by any means, but there's some questions.
Danny Disco Time. Grade one talent, does he have
the experience? You know, that's the that's the
big question from the 1 hole. I'm with Barry.
The thing that I think he's really got going for him is
Flavian Pratt. You know, I think that that he's
worked really, really well. Talked with Brad Cox about him.
Brad's really, really high on the horse.
It just, does he have enough experience with no grade one
starts, you know, that's that's the question mark.
Will I play him? Yes.
Is he a slam dunk? No.
He's a rare horse that's never run on lay 6 in his career.
Of course only five career starts, but he has one guess
what all five of them. British Isles is in here.
He is the 2 horse for David Fox who was previously in the Baltus
barn out West. He comes in here out of the Navy
Native Diver at a mile and an eighth.
Josh, what do you what do you do you make much of his chances
here. No justify.
No, I, I, I just didn't, I just didn't see it with this one.
You know, I, you know, all those turf starts, they try 1 dirt.
He ran fine in a native diver, but I think this this group is
just much better than whatever he ran against in that race.
Danny, British Isles. Oh, Danny, Danny said.
Never say no. There you go.
Go to Barry then. What do you say about What do
you say about British House? No thank you.
That was a four horse race, the native diver.
Enough said. This horse is a turf horse next.
Full Serrano Breeders' Cup winner at the mile distance at
Delmar in 2024, followed it up with a second place finish in
the mile and an eighth Goodwood before 1/5 place finish.
No one was catching nice under Citizen Bowl on that day and so
it is what it is back at Delmar. I'm very happy to see him here,
Barry, but I don't know how much.
I think Full Serrano's going to be able to keep pace with the
rest of the horses in here at a mile and an eighth.
Yeah, I, I, I was kind of disappointed.
It seemed like they rushed that horse into the British Cup Dirt
Mile and it didn't do him any favors it he ended up his form a
little bit. But again, there's a lot of
speed in this race and I just don't know how this horse is
really going to work out a way or trip in order to win this
race. They're definitely capable as
far as talent and ability, but it the setup is just God awful.
Yeah, 7 year old here in a full. Ceramo, how about for you?
Josh, what is that? I, I also am not going to be
using full Serrano. You know, he's got one race that
obviously fits in here, but you know, it's a Breeders' Cup race.
And I, I always feel like those numbers, you know, always come a
couple of points, I think higher than than maybe they need to be.
So you kind of throw that race out and you know the rest of the
numbers, they look OK, but not for me.
Hey, can you hear me? We can, Danny full Serrano.
I can't hear anybody else. OK, all right, hang on one
second. OK, so full Serrano.
Barry muted himself like a jerk. Tell you what.
Unbelievable. See how that goes?
Everybody just muted themselves. Can't hear each other.
It's a whole thing. Banishing.
Up next in the four hole. I will be including banishing in
all of my multi wager tickets. Barry, what say you about
banishing? Yeah, banishing is very, very
interesting in this spot. This horse could do it all.
Basically just needs some space and opportunity as they say in
the hood. But I I think this horse has a
really good shot. Should get a nice trip getting
top rider in in Jose Ortiz. It's it's just a matter of the
setup and I think it's gonna be good.
I don't think 20 to 1 is in the cards, but right.
I think half that would be appropriate.
And I'm definitely using banishing on my tickets.
Well, thank you, Josh. Tell us how you don't like
banishing. Banishing is probably my second
favorite horse in training. This is just such a cool horse
man. Doesn't matter the distance.
I mean, he's just going out there and doing.
It I'll. I'll tell you what, go man.
You know my the biggest my the biggest thing I wish I would
have seen last year is seen vanishing run in the Met mile.
I think that I, I think he would have had a shot in that race,
honestly. And, and I was kind of sad that
they didn't take a shot, but love him in this spot.
I I have him on my tickets. I don't like that at all.
Skippy Longstocking will break from the five.
That's terrible for me. Skippy Longstocking will break
from the five. I made the case, you'll hear it
tomorrow night, but I made the case that if I were playing a
Safi in this race, I would play Skippy ahead of White Abario.
Josh, what say you about that opinion?
No, not for me. But you know, this is a horse
that likes to show up once or twice a year, you know, and
maybe he's turned it around at 7:00 because obviously that
Harlan's holiday was pretty good, but it was, you know, he,
I don't know what he really beat in that race.
I, I think, you know, 2/3 of this field is better than
anything else that was in that race.
So I'll skip here. Danny Skippy or Danny could
learn Barry Skippy. No thank you.
I've seen this horse win the challenger against nobody three
years in a row, Ran a nice race in the Harlan's Holiday and like
Josh alluded to, didn't really beat much.
I I don't see much upside here. Hasn't been really capable at
this level. If if this was a great three,
I'd probably like this horse a lot more.
See if Danny's there with us. If you yeah, sorry guys, but my
son, we're. I'm sure you got a phone call or
something. Skippy Longstocking in the spot.
Do you give much of a chance? I think Skippy day has come and
gone now. He ran a good race last time,
but I think that Skippy, it's it's past Skippy time.
Madiket wrote in here. Lots of conversations about him.
If you want to have a hot take, it's that.
It's that Bob Baffert is going to win this thing I think would
be the hottest of takes. He has tried the mile and 8th
before. He was in the Florida Derby last
year behind Japan St. Sovereignty and Neil Equos.
It of course before that ran well in the Rebel.
Josh, what do you make of Maticot Rd. in this field?
The only reason I'm going to be using this horse is because of
that rebel. And I'm going to tell you what I
I've said this to a bunch of people and people tell me I'm
crazy. That rebel race that Madikat Rd.
ran was one of the gutsiest efforts I've ever seen out of a
horse because he was out there and he was throwing it down.
And I mean, those fractions came back ridiculous.
And he it looked like he he might still hang on.
But you know, he he kept on going.
He got out kicked there at the end.
You know, I, I don't think necessarily, you know, he needs
to go that fast here, but you know, gets money.
Mike Smith aboard, I mean, he knows how to ride on the front
end. So, you know, although there's
going to be a ton of speed in here, I've seen this horse, you
know, put up some really fast fractions and and still kind of
hang around a little bit at the end.
So so I like him here a little. Bit that's what I was actually
going to ask Barry is did they bring Mike?
You know, they they booked Mike Smith here.
I'm assuming they're going to try to get near the lead.
Yeah. They, they can try.
I mean, there's a lot of speed in here, man.
Like it's a fast race. It's, it's gonna be, it should
be, I shouldn't say going to it should be hot up front.
I mean, this horse is, is eligible for first level
allowance conditions. I, I, I, I just don't see it.
Would I be surprised if this horse won?
Probably not because of the barn connection and so on and so
forth, but hard to back a horse that really hasn't won anything.
Baffert has talked openly this week, Danny, about, hey, other
horses have retired. It's his chance now.
Does that kind of talk give you it's still a ton of confidence
in the the old Smyrna stud. Well, I talked to Bob today and
there's there there's one there's one thing that that
Madacath Rd's going to do try to break well and take them all the
way. That's that's that's the game
plan. I think we all know that, but he
reiterated that big money Mike's in the irons and that's why is
because he wants to break well. If he breaks well, he hopes to
take him gate to wire and that's that's the game plan period in
the story. Do I think he can do it?
No, I'm with Barry. He hasn't won enough.
I just don't I think. Could he winch?
Well, sure, if they leave him alone.
But I don't think he's going to get left alone.
We saw him and the Robber beat Lewis the Rebel and the Florida
Derby last year before trying the Pat de Mile ran a good
second behind Macho Music in that one.
We move on to to Pan St. the only horse famously to beat
Sovereignty in 2025. It was in the Grade 1 Florida
Derby. Of course, an injury before the
Kentucky Derby kept him out until December.
Berry, what do you make it to Pan St. in here?
A lot of people, I think, want to believe in him, but boy, that
six to one number says that maybe they don't down there.
Yeah, well, that's just the number.
I I, I really think the Pan Street is the horse to beat in
this spot. Should get an excellent trip
training out of his mind. Well, this field isn't fantastic
by any means. His running style fits.
If we get 6 to one, I'm all over it.
I I mean, I may even try to single this horse in, in all the
multis. I I think he's sitting on a
really big race. I have Tapan St. in my tickets
as well. Danny, will you have him in
yours? Yes, because of Luis Saez and
because I think that, you know, his last race wasn't
spectacular, but he won and he gutted it out.
He fought near the finish. So I think that that that was
good. And I think that tactical speed,
I think that's one thing that really helps him here is
tactical speed. And yeah, so I think he's one
that you need to have on your tickets because, you know, a lot
of times it's the other horse that wins because Disco time is
getting a lot of attention and he's undefeated.
I understand. But how many times when a
trainer has multiple horses, it's the other horse that winds
up winning? So there you go to Pan St., the
other horse. Josh, the other horse, you like
him? I didn't use I mean, you guys I
think are making making the good case here.
Obviously his horse is 3 for four lifetime.
You know, had the injury, came back to Gulfstream, ran fine.
You know, time forms got that that figure as with with a
little bit of a question mark. So maybe there's a little bit of
a timing issue or something. So maybe don't necessarily have
to believe that last fig, but came back one got got the job
done and and probably Bob or Brad just wanted him to to get
one. So don't have to you don't have
to read too too much into that. But I do think he's actually he.
The more I look at the race, the more interesting he looks.
But you know, I'm going to be pretty wide in here, so I don't
know if this is one that's going to make my tickets.
To Pant Streets, one of those examples of how Brad Cox is very
different than say a Bob Baffert, right?
So Maticot Rd. will break right next to him.
Everything he's done has been in graded company.
When they needed to bring to pantry back, he wanted to
instill confidence by winning, right.
So he brings them back in an allowance in at Gulfstream Park
where he's going to be running in the in the Pegasus as well.
This is a different approach to this and he'll be in my tickets
as well. I'm interested in them,
especially as a four year old. One of the reasons I'm so
interested in this race guys, is because we have a a very serious
set of like 4 or 5 newly minted 4 year olds in this group.
Who's going to step into that group with sovereignty, with
journalism, with magnitude, with those other horses, you know,
journalism that are in that group?
Who else out of this group might be the ones that join them this
year in Japan? St. certainly an obvious
candidate for that. Another one we saw in the Derby
Trail was Poster, who broke his maiden at Ellis Park on the turf
before winning the Remsen at Aqueduct in December of 2024.
He was second to Skippy, last out in the Harlem Holiday.
What do you make of the Harlem Handy?
Excuse me, what do you make of him Josh in this spot Poster?
You know, this was one that I ended up also kind of skipping.
I just didn't think there was much in that last race in the
Harlem's Holiday, so this wasn't one I looked at too much.
Honestly, I think this is probably a horse that I'd be
more interested in on the turf. 3 for three on the turf so.
Yeah, he's very, very good on the turf.
Danny, what's are you? I think that Ann Hardy is an
underrated trainer. I think he's doing really well.
You know, he's, he's putting lots of good horses out.
Well traveled horse 6 for seven in the money.
Yeah, I don't think, you know, like Barry's, this is not an
overwhelming field here. So for poster to get a piece of
the pie wouldn't be surprised. So I think have him on your
super affected ticket. I don't think he wins but I
think have him on your super affected ticket baby.
Munnings son of Munnings there for newly 4 year old poster
Tappet on the damn side obviously can get the distance
of per the breeding there. Barry, what do you make of
poster in here? Yeah, I agree with Josh that
that race wasn't very much, but poster is is very pace dependent
and I think under the right circumstances this horse can get
a really good trip and finish in the picture.
I I don't think this horse can actually win this race, but can
round out tries and supers and and at very good value.
So poster is definitely on my radar.
Will be on my verticals. Yeah, that makes sense to me.
Captain Cook is in here, Barry, and I saw him in the 100th Wood
Memorial in April last year, where he ran fourth behind
Rodriguez Grande and Passion Rules.
He came back to run third in the Peter Pan before moving to the
Maxfield to Churchill Downs over one turn.
He has not won since the Withers, which was back in
February of 2025, but that was at the distance.
Barry, what do you make of Captain Cook in here?
I can't quite figure out what he's good at.
Yeah, I don't think anybody knows what he's good at.
He switched Barnes a couple of times.
It's just, you know, this horse is fairly talented.
But like you said, what does he do well?
And, and in this kind of race, you need to be able to do
something better than everybody else.
And I don't think Captain Cook can do it.
How about for you, Danny? You know, the only thing that
attractive about him is the jockey, trainer combo, Pletcher
and Velasquez. That's the only thing to me that
would even that even has me even thinking about Captain Cook.
Otherwise, you know, I'm, I don't think that the pirate
flag's going to be flying. Stretcher and back out here.
Josh, do you like it? No, but I'm I'm more I'm
interested to see how he runs when he gets back to to the mile
7 furlongs. I think this is a real talented
horse. I think this might just be a
little too far. Coming out of Aqueduct the the
2nd place finisher behind the aforementioned Bishops Bay in
Mika coming down a son of Catholic boy will run the mile
in an eighth year. This is a really interesting one
to me, Josh, because like I said, try the cigar Mile as his
first, you know, graded state sort of experience.
And I thought maybe Franco did a good job.
They got a lead. Bishops Bay just ran them down
at the very end of it. But frankly, you know, in the
Baker barn, this kind of makes sense as a next thing to try,
especially with the purse. I don't have this one winning,
but I I don't think I'd be stunned, Josh, if this 1 ended
up in the in the Super, in the trifecta.
Excuse me? No.
I mean, this is an improving type, right?
I mean, you look at those last three figures, they're, you
know, first, first, second by a neck and at least on time for
them. Each one of those races are
getting increasingly better. You know, I think the right,
right type of layoff, you know, fired in your bullet last time
out. So I I think I think Mike Maker
and Manny Franco are going to be be primed to go here once again.
I maybe a little bit of a question on the distance, but
you know, it's gotten a mile 16th and done all right.
So you know what's another another half furlong, But I I
think 11 to watch, but I I'm not going to be using.
Mika in here was in the Brittany Russell barn and frankly they
she treated him a lot like she treated post time Barry.
I thought that was really interesting.
What do you make of Mika in? Here yeah, I think last time was
the the time to have Mika. It's going to be hard to pair up
that sort of effort and again, a lot of speed.
I I only see this horse really running one way against this
kind of competition and just a no, a hard no for me.
Let's move on to Whitey Barrio, the 11 horse in here.
Danny Irad keeps them out. He's been aboard this horse for
many of his very best wins. He is a Grade 1 winner in this
race. He's also won the Grade 3 Go
Sapper. He's won other a ton of other
races. They've tried them overseas.
They've tried them over here. Obviously is a Breeders' Cup
Classic winner back in the day as well.
This is such an interesting horse and if he weren't a son of
Race Day, we'd still we definitely wouldn't be seeing
him this weekend. In this case here, Danny, Why to
barrio? Any chance that he does the art
collector thing and rides off into the sunset after this?
I think that the thing that White Abario has got going for
him is Gulfstream Park. I mean, he has been a horse for
the course, you know, when it comes to to Gulfstream Park.
And I think that's why he's running here is because it's a
Gulfstream Park. If this race were somewhere
else, you know, I, I don't think that we'd, we'd see him against
this, you know, in this type of race.
But I think that because it's Gulfstream Park, I think you got
to give him a chance. Now there's all these question
marks. Here's what I don't know, and
you guys maybe enlighten me. The scratch from the Breeders
cup, you know, on the track. I mean that that was pretty
mysterious and I don't really understand what happened.
I don't know if they know what happened, but it was a
veterinarian scratch. You know, I, so I, I think that
because it's Gulf St. Park, you have to kind of think
about why Debario, but I'm not sure that he gets it done.
I I don't think he's the same. Why Debario than his one in
years past at Gulfstream Park? Josh 8 for 10 with a second
place finish at Gulfstream Park. I mean, is that enough impetus
for you to include this horse? Look at I'm just saying that we
were a no ball short of every single one of my pet horses
showing up at Gulfstream Park on this, on this, this card.
I mean, I got to have, I got to have this horse on a ticket.
I mean, this is Gulfstream Park. This is Safi's backyard.
He, he just always shows up at Gulfstream Park, even at that
second in the Mr. Prospector, which was, you know, going to 7
furlongs, which is not his game. You know, I, I really think that
we're going to see one more good effort out of the horse before,
before he retires. Whether it's going to be good
enough to win, I'm not sure, but I'm excited to see him see him
run one last time this weekend. But I'm going to have him on a
couple tickets. Handicapping during the Eclipse
Awards. This is the This is the horse
racing happy hour. Barry, what do you say about
Whitebarrio? No thank you.
I would have loved to see this horse run between when they got
scratched at the Breeders Cup and now and we didn't see that
and it's awfully curious. So I'm, I don't know what to
make of his fitness at this point.
I'm, I'm sure he's ready, but at 7 years old, he's got to be
slowing down. His past performances kind of
tipped the hand that he's been slowing down a little bit.
But you know, he wouldn't surprise me by any means because
he does like Gulfstream. But I'm gonna side against him
and actually toss him. I'm not using him at all.
Brother Kenny is in here. Move now to the Jose D'Angelo
barn. Was previously in Billy Morey's
barn and this is one that we saw when at.
Churchill in the. Bourbon Flight, This is one that
Danny or that Danny, Good Lord Barry and I saw in the Indiana
Derby as well, running third behind Tip Top Thomas in the
aforementioned Cold Battle. Brother Kenny in here, the son
of Motown. Barry, I don't quite know what
to do with him. He's one of these newly 4 year
old horses in here. No, I'm saying moving forward, I
don't think he wins here. I want to be very clear, but I
don't know how good he can get as a four year old.
But I'm very interested to see him in the D Angelo barn,
frankly, I'll put it that way. How much of a chance do you get
him on Saturday? A chance to win negative but
this horse can show up as we've seen and is going to get the
pace to run into. Been training excellent at 30 to
one. I am putting this horse
underneath on every ticket I have.
Love it. He and Javier Castellano always
shows up in races like this every single freaking time.
And by the way, this horses buyer figure last five races,
four of them have been 90 threes.
He is, as Barry just said, wildly consistent.
Danny, what say you about brother Kenny?
Six out of the left seven in the money.
I'm with I'm with Barry. I think that you know he he's a
horse that you can put on there at 30 to 1 superfecta.
Thank you. I mean, I think that like I
said, he is consistently there and you know, Jose DeAngelo, I
think Josh had mentioned earlier his backyard, you know, I think
Jose is one of the best young trainers in the game.
Got lots of respect for him. And you know, if brother Kenny's
in his barn. Hey man, I think he needs to be
on the Super effective ticket full show.
Mile and three sixteenths in that bourbon flight got the
lead, kept the lead. Josh, any chance Brother Kenny
is the one that goes ahead and gets the lead in this thing?
I I don't think he, he's fast enough early, but I, I do think
that, you know, JJ just, he just seems to always know the right
thing to do in these races. So I think if, if he thinks
that, you know, there's not going to be any pace in here and
he's going to go, I just think there's going to be too much.
I think he's going to sit more of a tracking trip.
You know, we've seen him, you know, win from off the pace.
Just hasn't. I don't know, just doesn't look
fast enough on paper. But it's hard to argue with the
form. Yeah, he's there all the time.
Joe Ramos had many of those mounts.
I want to point out too. By the way, the 93 speed figure
was at 4 different tracks. So that's a horse that travels
and does very well for himself on the AES, Lightning tones and
Catalytic. Shout out to Catalytic.
Either of those doing anything for any of you guys.
I get the case for an AE. All right, let's do some tickets
here. Danny, I did not grab a ticket
from you before the show. Do you?
In your pick six, what do you think your budget is going to
end up being for the pick 6? Probably in the 50 to $100
range. You know, I'm going to try.
Yeah, yeah, I'm going to try to find, you know, one single,
maybe 2. That's that's my goal is if you
know, one single for sure, you know, and I, I think my singles,
like I said, probably going to be in the opening leg.
I may be playing the pick 5 right after that.
But I think that Knightsbridge is going to be my single for
sure in that one. And I would like to find a
single somewhere else down the line to that way I can go deep
in the other race because it's very competitive.
There's some of these races are very competitive.
Yeah, and if you can single twice in the pick six, that's a
20 cent pick 4. You got to play after that.
So that's not a bad way to look at it.
We'll go through a couple of plays here.
Josh mentioned earlier that he's going to be playing the tropical
turf play and the tropical turf pick three, I should say, excuse
me, it is a $3 minimum. OK, We love these bets for sure.
Josh is the biggest fan of them of anyone that I know.
Josh, you're going to go 3 wide, 4 wide, and then you're going to
single in the last leg. That was Cabo Spirit.
Talk us through the other two legs.
Yeah, so in the the first leg I'm going to use the one to
three and the six. You know, I, I really do like
Ohana honor. If you, you know, if, if, if
you're feeling spicy and want to, you know, start pressing
some tickets, I'd probably even start with a single on that
first leg. But in in the second leg I got
47911. That was a tough leg for me.
So those will probably all be all be pretty used pretty
equally, but and then we're going to be single in that eight
in that last leg. Right, Cabo Spirit, the single
there. We'll wrap it up with Barry's
ticket here. He's the famous Barry double
here, 6 and 12 in race 93 and seven in race 10.
Barry, tell us at least about one of those horses in there.
Why? Why do you think it's why
they're gonna enhance the payoff here?
Well, Destino de Oro is really the attractor in this this bet
because I like that horse quite a bit.
I, I almost singled that horse in the second leg of this, but I
thought whiskey decision might be awfully tough with the Chad
Brown special And in the ninth race, Hammerhead is another one
that might end up kind of quote UN quote blowing up the board a
little bit. I think that horse is going to
get overlooked and we might see a good payoff here with this $5
double. All right, Barry, I know you got
to go. So go.
Thanks my man. Hi.
Barry, have fun with me, you jerk.
Yeah, I will send you pictures. Hey, I'm going to have a tan you
want to see? I'll show you my man.
Yeah, yeah, it must be nice, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got him the hell out of here.
There you go. I pick 3.
For the day will be the late pick three.
I'm going to go 3 wide and three legs 13112 ten and 1214 and
seven. I'm obviously hoping Vanishing
is going to show up in the World Cup itself and the Pegasus in
the final leg. 27 dollars, $1.00 minimum on the pick threes,
which I appreciate at Gulfstream Park.
So that's a $1.00 ticket. Obviously scale it up as much as
you want or add in different legs.

Gentlemen, happy Pegasus. Thanks for joining us today.
Anytime, man. Hey, best of luck.
Hey, you know the routine, Louie.
Hey, got a hunch? Bet a bunch back a horse and get
paid my friend. Danny was there with that.
The exact slogan was the treatment for Ethical Diamond
and the way I know it was there because he ran up like $300.00
bill at a dinner. There you are four.
I don't know what day it is. What day is it?
22nd? Sure.
January 22nd, 2026. We'll be back tomorrow.
So Cal Saturday's John Sherbert from the LA Times will be my
