Hello and welcome to with your friend Louis Robbo and know what

else I was every doing. Hey, producer Zack.

How are you man? I'm doing well, it's been an

interesting week. Everyone in the house had some

kind of sick and then I got it and it was debilitating.

And I remember when you were a kid and you were like sick for

three hours or something, then we went away.

And yeah, I think the biggest shift the thing that happened in

covid for Is that we didn't have when we were kids is if a kids

sick now they're like okay here's a computer they can go to

school at home and when we were kids it was like sleep till noon

and then go play outside. So you know it's just not a good

shift for kids man. I'm so it's worse because right

there. No snow days anymore in some

places. Like so there was like that.

That's a great way that like destroyed all of California with

snow and you know what? The company I work for sends out

an email to everyone and says Oh, don't worry about coming to

the office. You can work from home today.

I'm like, no, no, that's not the right answer.

Snow means days off. Like we take the day off.

Y'all have fun with my kids, go sledding and crap.

That's right. Exactly, like what do you, man?

Oh man. Alright, reminder, man, our beer

this week brought to you by our friends at butcher Town.

Buried small craft beers available, just east of

downtown, we're drinking the Gianna, this spring tell you

style logger, it is their Flagship.

Don't check them out but just east of downtown.

So when your topic Dirty. Make sure to check out his

friends at butcher Tom Brewing, there in something very cool

called the Mellwood art center, right across the walkway from a

very good pizza joint. So if you need a spot to land

during Derby week, make sure you check out our friends at

Belchertown brewing and if your little course any other time

I'll bet that I can damage. I did the guava.

This is a couple of weeks ago, Zack And in my wife has a bit of

a gluten thing, and even she was able to drink it.

She loved it. So there you go.

So if anybody wanted something, that was gluten-free from a

brewery available a butcher time brewing, for sure, as well.

So not like lots of nice options for people.

So, anyways, let's get to some of these races from last week.

This would have been, you know, Mike's in Tennessee, this week

in case, anyone's wondering just unavailable tonight.

This would have been one of those weeks back where we play

the replay of the private terms and he says something like, oh

well, we did it for the Preakness and blah, blah blah,

but it's actually going to be a little bit different here

because hey, strike comes through and went to private

terms and I'll tell you what it means, right after we watch the

replay. But Kristin.

Hey, strike on the outside of the attack.

Register is in third circling. The drain begins to move up in

between horses and how great is Nate tiring just a bit 360s left

to go and on the outside, hey strikes strikes, the front

coffee with Chris willing to give that one a battle, just a

neck behind with an eighth of a mile left to go.

It's, hey, strike coffee with Chris Hayes trait.

I'm picking coffee with. Chris Hayes strike.

Hey, strike it on. Private terms, takes to win,

went back to, from coffee with cream.

That is America's best race caller.

Dave, Rodman on the call there, thanks for friends at the

Maryland, Jockey Club. Don't tell Travis stone.

Look, what you just saw was a triple crown nominated horse

over. Take a horse that's going to

spend his life running and steaks Bread.

Company coffee with Chris is going to have a great career

Laurel and a Pimlico on the fairgrounds up its ammonium.

Like he's going to have a great career great career he's you

make a ton of money and he's gonna go to stuff going to make

a ton of money but hey strike is going to go back to the

Bluegrass or two. All to Oakland or somewhere and

run to try to qualify for the Kentucky Derby and he's just a

different kind of horse. Now, maybe doesn't qualify for

the Derby, maybe. Actually, this is a good sign

for him and he ends up running in the Preakness as one of those

new Shooters in the Preakness. I don't know, but this is one

for can't even people where he's got one, that is Triple Crown

nominated is ready to go needed to get back on his feet after a

couple of misfires in previous races.

And so this was a good sign for the McPeak Barn that he was able

to ship again. Yep, to attract go the two turns

And I think, what do you think coffee with Chris pushing?

Lots of the nine path to have that and then finishes at the

rail. So he's got to cover a ton of

ground all the way there. Good job to not, switch the

leads again, as he had all of the momentum at the Ed overtakes

coffee with Chris who. Again, like I said, it's going

to win a ton of racism Maryland coming up and they have a great

statement program. So there's no reason to move him

out of Laurel and out of Pimlico.

I think that's why you're see him stay.

And so look for I mean taste like that.

Good a performance as we've seen in one of these lower level sort

of qualifiers. And so for me pretty obvious,

move back to the Triple Crown Trail for him after this.

And so look for him, probably a Keeneland, frankly knowing the

McPeak, way of doing things. And so I look for him in the

Bluegrass coming up here. Yeah.

And if hey, strike makes it to the Preakness, he's a, he's a

spoiler. He's one of those where someone

could be on a good run from the Derby thinking.

Oh, we're going to win this or we're going to come, we're going

to hit the board and he pushes him out.

Yeah, right. He doesn't qualify for the Derby

runs and he's got that five you know six weeks off something

like that, he's fresh. They're able to see, you know,

retrain them again in Maryland or whatever it looks like for

them. That's the kind of horse man

that, you know, if you like floral, maybe he'll like,

chemical that kind of thing. So, yeah.

Good show from him. Good sign for the McPeak.

Barn moving forward. That that horse is ready because

last two races before that didn't look great.

So when I saw a return to form for him, all right, so let's go

ahead. We'll look at the other race

that the lady Lowry Retreat of course, leads into the Weber

City, misc and of course, into the black-eyed.

Susan on the Maryland. Try, we talked about that on our

show last week. So, Let's go ahead and and watch

lady Lowry who's already out front by the time that we start

the replay. As run too, heavy clouds, Justin

behind the lead, happy clouds. Now, coming on through trying to

take second and taking aim at lady Lowry Happy Cloud.

Switching to the outside. For the final quarter of a mile

cats, in the timber, back in third and Cairo.

Sugar, driving in fourth, they're coming the last for

long. Now, lady Lowry kicks once

again, two and a half lengths as happy clouds Loom, but second

chasing lady Lowry home through the final Furlong lady Lowry,

happy clouds, Cairo sugar very game, coming back for third

cats, in the Timbers. Next, here's lady Lowry.

Me and Jack Gilligan to take them Beyond The Wire steaks at

the second wire. Happy clouds and third their

kite. So I was very wrong about this.

This was a horse coming out of back to backs prints on the

synthetic at Turfway Park. And this is when I asked the

guys last week, I said, hey, I know that.

You know, I've seen our guy John Kasich.

Hey, I know they ship well from Laurel to Turfway.

Are we seeing reciprocity there? And even I mean even John,

excuse me even a day. Oh my gosh, Danny Elfman.

Yep at Tilghman in my head for some reason.

Dan Dillman tells me that he doesn't really love that.

The turquoise scheppers, she could not have looked more

comfortable, right? So an obvious good spot for her.

She goes to turns. No problem.

She doesn't mind being on the lychee.

Gets challenged just a little bit, has the extra kick when we

talked on the show about three-year-old Phillies whenever

they have that extra kick whenever they're willing to do

the extra work that is required to be great in those spots.

It's always very positive sign. Especially my That they have the

right mentality as a filly that they want to be up front, they

want to lead the group and so in that case I mean she's I don't

know the route for her frankly this is this was not good

company as far as trying to qualify for an Oaks or for what

have you? Because the top of the 30 Philly

class is very good this year, and so maybe she's the type that

picks off these kinds of races. Maybe we see her back at a

Keeneland in a listed steaks or we see her, you know, end up at

Churchill Downs you know, on Oaks day but in an undercard

kind of race, that kind of thing, but look Love the two

terms, the first time that's a good sign for her as well.

And so yeah, look for her again. I think that again, we talked

about the different styles that can win races when you're, when

you could rate like that and go it asking, well, after the

second turn find your footing to switch leads, like that.

Always a real positive and so nothing to complain about their

from the glory. Yeah, no.

Yeah. I'd like to bring my new best

friend on to the show. His name is Kevin Kilroy we have

been friends. Look at that.

So there's something that there's something in horse

racing Zach that I have to tell you about.

So Zack is a longtime fan of the show who has recently become our

producer. And there's a culture and horse

racing in of which I do not participate at that, is hat

culture. So many men are so they just

wear their teeth. Sleep in that hat.

Kevin, I have a little chin strap night.

He's had to take on this well, it Blends into the beer and then

go anywhere. So basically.

Yeah, not this hat is usually have another hat and hands of

hands. Like but listen dude, I'm a bald

man, you know, there's nothing pretty about, you know, it's not

a good hat little style. The old-school horse racing the

fashion. So So, what you need is, you

need a couple of tickets from a race.

You've recently bet on just sticking out of the band.

You just pop it in right there. Yep, exactly.

See. The problem is a key would have

to be wrong on a race to have no no.

See that just doesn't happen with Kevin.

Kevin, Kilroy joining us here. He'll be Trackside for all

things. Louisiana, this weekend coming

up, frankly on the closing weekend here at Fairgrounds.

And so how many more race days are we running at the

fairgrounds feels like that? And in one of the racers have to

find love. We just have Friday, Saturday

Sunday. You get 10 more tomorrow 15 on

Saturday at 15 on Sunday. So, we're in the thick of it

still, you know, it's been, it's been busy times, but on lots of

lots of wagering opportunities and all that sort of good stuff.

So, over the pools, get big. And there's some, some tickets

that come home for me. I want to welcome my Tony Kaymer

to the show. Big fan of Kevin's apparently

Soju. Appreciate him jumping on the

show, coming on the show, you know, I you know, it's been

interesting watching this Fairgrounds meet Kevin because

of the issues. Some of the, you know, the

irrigation issues with the turf course.

The inner part of that Turf course the the narrowing of that

Turf course, is a couple of races on that course that I

think, especially the Muniz, that'll be really affected by

the narrow. Rule.

Course, what have you found? Are there some things?

Okay, I'll just tell you what. I think instead of instead of

going long-winded, I think if you could be near the front it's

really advantageous. Because as closers you like to

go into a half that's a bit. Wider in a narrow or turf,

course is less options. So we've seen horses recently

even better in this race two Emmys gentle soul who have been

near the front either stalking the Pacer on the front that are

going to be in that race. Do you think that's an advantage

for them? Or do you think, you know what?

Actually, we've got good riders in this weekend.

They could figure out those holes.

It's been so unpredictable. It's been such a specific Head

game for the jockeys to I'm I could go on and on about it but

we move the rails in six feet thick so it's 28 feet.

So we're gonna have to encounter which is introduces a new, you

know, variable because looking at it, you know, we've got the

Press Box up on the sixth floor, we can see down and the going

looks pretty good along the rail.

You know, it's never been run down.

This meat, it didn't look good at the beginning.

So it's grown in and it looks pretty good.

Other than that you know we We've seen we've seen some, some

front-running scores and part of it was really dry.

I was playing really hard and really fast and that worked out

for some of the runners. We've also seen a lot of good

you know, outside fence runs so it's been all over the board.

I think you just want to trust form and because also these

jocks made for a while they were so into it that they needed to

be outside. There was one day where a

front-runner mango season for laundry room.

Ride them, and he all of a sudden he has to be in the

front. He's just an all need.

The legal and flow, took him out in the sixth path.

And there's like, do we got to be out there?

And it turns out that he just had a horse that was coming in

on the inside. He just can't run with another

horse this fear, so close, like aren get him out otherwise, so

she's gonna get pissed at me, you know, he's got everybody

thought you had to be out there. So, all of a sudden after that

race, every was fighting for outside position, it was the

Ernest deal, you know? And so, then Runners would sneak

out on the inside and it would reverse, but it's been pretty

unpredictable. It's pretty chewed up, you know,

into the meat. And we just been in and then

that the outside spot for the most part except for that part

of the rail. So, you might see some real

runs, you might see a horse like to Amy's.

Really try to get it done that way, but two Emmys, we don't,

you think those jocks are not gonna let James Graham go away

with that slow pace again, right?

I mean, how many time have you yelled at the school?

Like, go get them. Means.

Come on. Well, not not because I'm

betting two Emmys, but, you know, other people, I'm sure are

yelling that at the screen. Do I think a guy like I read,

who's on the one atone in that race is not going to let that

kind of pace on fold and even though he's not, I read Louise

sighs. Excuse me, I'm mixing my Bluest

Eyes. Sorry, my short first name,

jockeys, I apologize. The know, so the I had to, I had

to readjust because I read running a turquoise for the

first time since 2020 and so that's the other part of this

thinking to get it done on those.

He's right, that's what it is. Okay.

Yeah I'm mixing. It is.

It's interesting because in 2020 this is part of my handicapping

for Turfway. After we kicked you out is that

in 2020, the jocks that flew in couldn't figure the course out

the first like eight races and then it got to the serious races

at the end of and figured it out the timing, the you know, how

patient they had to be those sorts of things.

And I think we might get a replay of that on Saturday, so

it might be Worth your look earlier stakes races at Turfway.

Play the local guys, play the horses that have had experience

there. And then when we get to the end

of it, when I read Scott, three races under his belt, he knows

what's going on. Start to lean on those guys that

are in from out of town, but I mean, it's a who's who of turf

way this week and I mean it's mean.

I mean who bare toes? Flying in Kimora's flying in,

Johnny Velasquez is going to be there.

I read obviously we mentioned him Martine Garcia's flying in.

I mean it is a it's been a minute since.

It's been like that for that day but seven hundred thousand

dollars Derby prep will do that for you, you know?

Yeah, yeah. It seems like it's been really

a, you know, of course, you got to know to be able to figure out

for sure, right? What you want to be inside.

No, can come off the pace, right?

For these longer longer races is that?

It usually the try to figure knocks.

We've got that by you Bluegrass five that Turfway Park

Fairgrounds pick finally starts. Yeah.

The New Orleans classic. Right?

So it seems, you know, seems pretty formal with the Burnett

that Botanicals the way Go there but I don't know.

Maybe it's based on prices can come home.

I think that major dudes vulnerable.

I think you get a little perfect setup last time.

So that's my two cents there. But I've been paying it.

I mean I get so knee-deep in this Fairgrounds, you know, it's

so hard. I got it way.

It's hard to get the Bourbon Street.

Let alone to Florence Kentucky. You know what I mean?

I hear you. So I asked you about the

newness, it's not going to be part of that.

By you blue guys, prick 5. But the New Orleans classic that

you mentioned will be, I'm wondering from you, look, we've

got two horses. A major class there are

collector obviously coming out of the the Pegasus World Cup and

then you've got a local horse, that's run a bunch there at West

will power has had a bunch of good form, excuse me, he's read

a bunch in in a lot of different places Oak Lawn and different

places before that. Churchill Downs, Saratoga,

wherever coming in to you, I think there's a chance that the

two of them are out front and they are just doing doing doing

and they want to outclass each other.

Is there any chance man, that happy American gets his moment

and jumps up and picks up the pieces after those two Yes,

there is that happy American serious.

Holes. There is there is I'll tell you

how that that race is going to go though.

The real horse treasury. He he's all out bowls and like

just stepping relation from the field.

You're going to be looking at that jock being like, what are

you doing? But that's the instructions.

That's how Grant wants it to be done.

He did it in the last race. So if you watch that one, you'll

see what. He's just want to get so far.

Ahead that they can't catch him at the end.

And they really can't be in position that really, really

messes them up. So he's going to be a Go go.

Which could make it a strange to you.

Because, you know, talking with Bruce lunch, for the owner of

art collector. They really want him to rate.

They really want him to come from All Things.

They said that Luis saez got on. Hey if he had tons of truck gate

trouble, so Lewis work through that got him out of the gate

clean and just started sending them at SI as does.

And that's not necessarily the most comfortable way of going,

so I think art collector is going to be a little bit off of

it and I think that's cool Power.

Going to be just right behind treasury, but it could get a

little weird if they tend to treasury too much.

And happy American soap, Essen, he was back and forth about

running them last out in the mine shaft.

He wasn't feeling like, it was a do it when he came out of the

what's the one he won right before?

It's the Louisiana. Yeah, easy Anna.

He just wasn't himself the same self that he was, we came out

the tenacious. We came out its nature as he was

kicking in the Stalls and next week.

So he was back and forth about it and he regrets doing it, but

he does feel strongly that happy.

American should be running in this.

He wants to find out. Like does he fit with these

upper echelon horses? So there's some of that because

he's thinking, this is the Breeders Cup Classic horse.

You can get the distance and he seems to be to be in himself,

but if you're watching in The Paddock, if you see happy

American really being on the muscle, then that's a good

thing. That's a good thing, because he,

he was like that right before the Louisiana, but I think

having Americans got a good shot.

I think he's the one and those other two favorites are the ones

you want to lead on. Okay.

We agree there so that'll be the first leg of that by you

Bluegrass pick five. Something I've never said before

and then the Oaks man shorter field but three really quality.

Phillies at the bottom. You've got one at the top that

if it were raining. I would probably lean on in

South lawn but it is looking like you guys are going to have

a nice New Orleans date on Saturday and so look pretty

good. Jervis doesn't do anything

wrong. Hoosier Philly showed the form

as a two-year-old, the Alice look, I gave her out as my top

pick in the Silver Bullet day down at your place.

I mean, I wouldn't be stunted if any of those three won the race.

I think the value of those three is the Alice look just because

she's the other other I guess in the spot where you lead.

Yeah I'm on pretty mischievous. But that's my question to you is

like which one of these three is going to be is going to be the

value. You know?

I mean she was 8 to Pretty much this was in that last race.

So I do feel like, people are sleeping on sleeping on her.

But Walsh has been touting her from last fall and throughout

this whole meat and she keeps on putting on weight and

progressing, you know, and she seems to be the one she's got

tactical options she can be tended to the patient come from

off of that. She's the one that I want to go

with in there. But all right I mean who's your

Filly? I totally got swept up in a

tall. I was watching her in the

mornings and she just really does flow.

It over the track and she seemed something special, she's got a

real inquisitive mind and so she really seems like a neat neat

Billy, but that was a really flat dull effort and haven't

seen up to, you know, prove her heart when she won those races,

a two-year-old. She just turned on by and she

never had to dig in and really fight, so I'm still against her,

but everything I'm here and is that she will run better this

next time. So if you do like her, do feel

courage reports. From, from the back side.

Tommy Amos might know a little thing about training three year

old Filly. So something to say probably the

Oaks there and of course, look your your Jewel of the day is

the is the derby million bucks here.

It's an interesting field. I am always interested Kevin.

When we start watching these races on this show, we start

talking about running Styles and if we think those running

Styles, can win the Derby. I'm of the opinion.

Instant coffee style is a very unlikely Derby winner. 220 horse

field, where he feels like, he's got to follow from so deep for

so long. It doesn't mean that for

example, in this race, that Luis saez can't get him closer to the

front, get him used to running like that.

Just off the pace and then making an earlier kick than he

has been. But I'll wait to see man.

I love Kings Barnes in here. I just I really trust Pletcher

recently. I think he places his horses

extraordinarily well especially in these kinds of races if we're

outside of this to call where do you land you know, my pics in

there that I really want to lean on are dining tonight.

Then at Peak run, Valeo stroke though, barn and Baseline

beater, I think they're all going to offer really, really

good value. I think they're already on step

forward. You know it's in The the

workouts have been great. I think he's at the top of the

those three year olds have been working out from the cocks.

You know, Murderers Row. I do agree that the running

style is Pretty Tough piece. He's not gonna have much to run

into on paper. We'll see how it goes Kings.

Barn could upset that right if you really if he goes out

forward but here, Dan Eaton. So I've been watching this guy

trained as most of these were like it out there and watch him

and he's got this absolute like Gay mentality where he knows the

Finish Line. He'll be in company, and he'll

just get a little bit loosened on the reins and just Surge and

pop forward. He, you know, I think he's gonna

be able to get the distance. Just fine coughs do though.

He did come back on him and that last race there on the undercard

and he didn't come back on him in the gallop out, that Runner

seems like he's going to step forward.

He is there and mentally like to slowly putting it together but

he's a he's one that should you know, have it all.

Ready to roll and he's live. And there, I think those Runners

who are going to get that sort of stalking, did pack, trip are

going to be key in here, right? We've got the long stretch and

it can be it's been playing. Pretty fair this past week,

although we've had some days it's been all about speed and

that Baseline Peter. He hasn't had a clean trip yet.

He's a good head being troubles or traffic and he's gonna love

the distance. He's gonna love the distance and

pest has been doing everything right?

You know, as means you happy American.

So Those are the three that I'm really excited to bet.

I do feel like one of those frontrunners could steal it

though. Right.

Whether it's Shoppers are binge. I've got not too much confidence

in. I mean that guy just hesitates

in the gate, the gate open. He's like, all right, I'm gonna

go. He's got the bail.

That can be a little bit tough as can get full sin.

Kings Barnes. Could be really, really live to

the front and JC's Road. I think will be a full since I

think. He just doesn't like those

sloppy tracks, you know. Yeah, I was going to ask you

about that because if you if I feel like that morning line of

12:48 that that Southwest is being held against him in a way

that usually with three year olds on their first run back.

You know, aren't aren't held to that kind of standard wins a

Gunrunner. As you mentioned over the same

track front running style like you mentioned, right?

And so if the pace isn't that heavy, even at a mile and three

sixteenths, I think that the breeding here makes sense of

true quality Road Silver. Deputy on the bottom.

I mean, he to me if we're playing a long shot JC's, Road

ends up at the top of me. Yeah.

Maybe I think he'll be able to cut over front of them.

There's not much to describe these beads inside and there's a

lot of room to get position. It's not like a mad dash for the

turn and like we saw with angels Empire sometimes you just want

to take a cocks Runner but take the value, you know, If you

runners in the early part of the card.

So there are some Statewide races at the beginning of the

card that people can tune in for, of course, starting right

away with the Crescent City Derby in the first race.

The third race is the Crescent City Oaks.

The fourth grades, of course, the coach arising any of those

races. Any like long shots, baby that

you like or horse that you thinks gonna hit the board.

I wish I had some, some prices. I can tell you he's gonna win

the race, okay? All night Moon lights going to

win the first He's been top of days, two year olds from the

beginning of the meeting. And I was a year old going long,

putting the blinkers on, he can get distance and he'll be a full

stand. He's going to get it done free,

drop Maddie will win that the Oaks for Calhoun, those are

their best to, you know, stay red fella and Lady race to.

If we want to put it'll pick three together, I'm interested

in no more reality. First time starter from it

Peaks. Been working with Who's my girl

who won the Burnett last year for the storm?

Oh, she's running in the Latonia too many horses in my head.

She's Oaks Billy. What's your name, Dan?

But she's been working with her and she's been, you know,

outworked but close, you know, and I think it's interesting

that the storm was going to work on her with that with that, Oaks

Billy from last year, the name of come to me after we stop the

show. So that could be a Aid, right?

Was it Katie Ray? Thank you.

Yeah, great. Yeah.

Okay, alright. I think that I think, you know,

I think is there but you can lean on if you want to play the

early sequences, all my move, I can figure out Maddie.

When you get into the 6 race, I do think pest is gonna have a

big day. It's got that sweet Alissa,

okay, when she stretches first, she basically just kind of got

lost out there. She get, talking to jareth and

Tennille. She was like going at two terms.

What's going on? You know, what am I doing here?

Here. And she looked impressive sheet

that evergrande that Steve asmussen, 1.1 million dollar for

some debut. She's a really strong Runner and

also that Rebecca nice and she had to scratch out of the race.

Seventh had scratched out of the right before the gates about to

break. She just got some got flipped

out, she's on the muscle horse, that should run Big D, DF that

that natural crius Argentine group.

One winner, she's gonna win that.

Bad sign for sure she was so impressive at Colonial Downs, I

was a meat that I was He tapped into and she's she's Ultra

impressive. I don't know why she's not the

favorite on the morning line. I mean that cocks adventuring is

nice, DDA will get bad. I'm pretty sure, but I think you

could really lean on that one right there in terms of that

race. Number 8, By the way, shout-out

to your folks down at Fairgrounds the pick, fives at

all. Stakes pick five.

You know, we've been doing actually a road to the Preakness

show every month and the end of the pick five, with like, nickel

claimers and like dime claimers. And I'm just like you don't have

to do that Maryland Jockey Club, we could be better than that and

then and then last month they gave us like a solid like

starter optional. I was like, oh let's go.

That's great. If you need to you need to get

away race. That's fine.

And then this month a bat when they went back to like a 78.

Kevin. I don't know what to do with

these people. Our missing me.

So I'll go back. You got four?

I do. I want that.

Look at that. Well me, dude, it's crazy.

It's the best. It's the best is, you know,

every once in a while you're like, oh, why do I have so many?

But my littlest one Louis Louis, he's a, he's a, he's a special

champ. I'm so glad we kept on going to

film getting you know what's a while?

I be people that have like four boys or something and I'll hear

someone say took to it, you wish you had a daughter.

Daughter and I answer for the parents.

I'm like, so which one of their sons should they trade in?

Like what do you think? That's how I feel about having

for is like is it a lot of like it's a lot but which one of my

training in? What are we doing?

You know, no way they all win your hearts times today you know

it's a gas all the riding for some other freelance stuff I'm

on the Windows team for the beach.

So I'll be there for two weeks, checking all the runners out in

the morning. And if anybody wants to hire a

guy to write a I really hope. Yeah well there you go well

there's names is there's Kevin go right at trust your luck odd

sweater Kevin. We appreciate you, man.

Yeah, thanks for having me on, appreciate it.

All right, yeah, there you go. All right, good luck to

everybody betting down at Fairgrounds this weekend, and

especially in that Bluegrass or the bio Bluegrass.

Excuse me, pick five that they will have between the two tracks

there. I think my light went out just

as we were getting rid of Kevin, the poor guy, that is exactly

what happened. And I do not think that I can Do

much about it. Unless I will just go with a

little lighter line. Ah, that's better for the crowd

anyway. All right, well, good, well

Kevin was better than I will save it regulations to people

who can have four kids. We tried to have to and then

pretends on the second try and it was three and that was

enough, I would have a longer conversation with Kevin about

you know because sometimes you meet couples and you know once

in a while my wife and I would sit in the same car too long and

then two weeks later she would Bring a positive pregnancy test

to me. So yeah it's on it's something

so yeah. But no a fun card at Fairgrounds

man and they obviously get crowds because they have a three

race, get out part of that sequence at the end of the day

so that people can kid leave the parking lot.

So obviously really really popular down there in New

Orleans, which is awesome. And so, good luck to everybody

there. Kevin, I'll be on the, on the,

on the track feet with a joy, Chris defective course.

And so good luck to everybody back down there.

And then, of course, Is that by you, the Bayou Bluegrass pick

five which is my sequence in the sheet Creet racing.com.

Go find your stuff there, 50 Cent minimum wager and it's a

15% take out, that's an excellent excellent.

Take out for pick five and on top of that that's the take out

rate for the pic fives at Fairgrounds.

He just gave you a sequence. In the early pick five there

that could if it hits helps, you build that bankroll for the rest

of the day so that's kind of stuff to look for exact talk.

While I get rid of this coffee, no problem.

Later today, actually right now we're going to talk about the

sheet. We have a bunch of races coming

through and looking forward to the Burnett and Jack Ruby

Stakes. Mmm, makes good friend because I

love when food companies sponsor horse racing, I do feel like, if

you get a ticket to the race, you should get a Jack Ruby steak

but you know, I'm sure they disagree.

No, no, they're actually doing that.

It's your boy. Oh yeah, the menu is amazing.

Actually, it was half of the press releases.

I got this week, so do whatever. They're they're killing it.

It's great. So shout out to those guys.

Kevin Christine and everybody from Churchill, that's that's

taken over some of the marketing duties up there.

And we'll have a full of Caitlin, free on my local ESPN

radio show here, in Louisville at 11:15 tomorrow, she's going

to jump on with us, then to talk those races and then, Dan Issel,

and I will handicap this pick. I've I'll put that up on the

podcast as well tomorrow. So if you're missing any of

those notes and dance notes, you can get those as well in case

anyone's wondering. Yes I am following this goal

scorer and it looks like my Spartans are going to lose to

Kansas State. I understand the best two

players in this in the game are on the other team and that's how

that goes in the NCAA. I'm hoping next year.

Michigan state will have more of the better players on their team

and so that's the Of that. So, so six weeks till do be

Oaks. We got so much going on with the

show with some other stuff. Yeah.

Yeah, I'm excited about. Yeah, I'm excited about the

coverage. We're going to be doing.

We're actually going to do a live Preakness show at the end

of me. Yep.

Well do one on black-eyed Susan that are broadcast on Friday

again on my ESPN little show is Louis.

That's a vailable all around Wherever You Are.

By streaming from ESPN little.com.

And from our from our podcast center and manage.

All those, what I learned this week?

I don't have to listen to it live.

Not saying you shouldn't listen to it.

Live long. Download it sure did.

Yep. Download them later.

It's one. Louis is hilarious.

Well. And I frankly I was gonna say if

your horse player the 11:30 segment, every Friday, we talk

courses and so there's, there's a half hour horses every week

and Dan, and I are both nerds about horses.

So we jump around the country and follow similar races today.

This show. But Dan has a different, a

different take on handicapping that I do which is great.

And so I just try to get people as many But as many opinions as

I possibly can and so let's head to kind of performance man.

Let's talk the turquoise Barker Zach and head up.

I mean just a ton of great racing.

One of the things that I like about this day especially is

there are three to four dedicated three-year-old races

on the card, the animal kingdom, the rush away, the Burnett and

the Ruby are all just for three-year-olds.

The rush away is it? Is sort of like, oh man, now I'm

forgetting the name of it. There's a race on the Preakness

card, that's for three-year-olds.

Zack. Look this up three-year-old

Stakes race on Preakness day. That isn't the Preakness.

It is a to turn race. It's named after either someone

very famous or after a very man, okay.

Just look at the animal kingdom. Those one of those races.

It's for three-year-olds it's 300.

Excuse me, two hundred fifty thousand dollars, six furlongs

and that's it for a long shoot after if we park there, I guess

six. A half earlier to a bunch of

interesting oranges in here. And I think the thing you have

to decide here is how deep you'd like to go the 26th or the 27th

all steak. Fix.

It starts here and you're gonna get a bunch of local Shooters in

this one, which is fun, but you're gonna get some shippers

as well. Swerve, ins coming in under

Edgard, zajac is shipping in for this rates.

For example, Joseph space holding a broker's, Maiden over

the, excuse me, the dirt course, a toggle Street Park last time

out. They're gonna try him on the

synthetic here. I think something you're going

to start to see more and more our horses moving between the

synthetic courses at Turfway and at Gulfstream Park because the

more time that both of those are open, the more likely they are

going to be more similar in how they play from New York Thunder.

It's coming in from Gulfstream Park as well broke Maiden on the

synthetic ran on the turf. It optional claimer last time

they're shipping him or ellos to ride this horse for healed.

Oh god. Oh I love that.

Horse shipping in. She want a local Lords.

I think you have to look at all the possible who's named after

The golfer Olaf a bowl. Of course, One Last Time Out, 12

times back at the main level, try to stretch them out at a

mild. Didn't work.

Under Jack Gilligan went back to her karelis, who's one of the

local leading writers at Turfway Park?

That's the kind of horse that you can lean on he and Eric

Foster only hitting it 40% of Turfway Park.

So I would look at those three horses in that part of it Rush

away is the next race. It's another race for

three-year-olds but this one's going to terms of my own the

16th on the synthetic up there. This was for 250,000 dollars as

well and this is kind of the not quite ready for the Derby prep

race and so that's kind of fun. This is where to me.

You start to see I read learn the course, And so of course in

my opinion then that means this is a chance to play against

broke his Maiden over my land 16th on the firm Turf.

A Gulfstream Park runs again at a mile in the colonel Liam which

is a very nice. A very nice turf turf listed

Stakes at Gulfstream Park. It's actually two hundred

thousand dollar raise it. So it's not like they haven't

been running him in high-level competition, well, the six, but

only by two and a quarter length.

So I think he's absolutely a play here.

It's one of those where he may be, he's just the class of the

race and he's able to jump up and win the race.

He is Triple Crown nominated. So obviously they thought enough

of him to go ahead and do that at the Todd Pletcher Pleasures.

Got a bunch of horses in This Day of Reckoning forces here, as

well from for out of us gets up and Brendon Walsh.

So this is Brendon Walsh. Taking a Horse from the turf.

Course at Fairgrounds, with his horse, just missed winning under

Edgar Morales, put them under a damask, it's up here, the two of

them don't really connect at Turfway very much but also added

does it ride very much interplay and so it'll be interesting to

see if those two shippers who are kind of the favorites here

can do it. And Johnny Velasquez is in town

this weekend which is an upset. But once I think they got rained

out at Excuse me at Santa Anita on Friday.

These guys knew hey, I can go running a bunch of six digit

races in Kentucky quarter million dollars and up and got

out there. Walter Rodriguez was on this

horse last time in the job. Battaglia the potentially of

feeds into the Jeff Ruby Stakes rape forth by for of quarter,

length behind congruent, who's going to be in the root and the

Ruby. This is the kind of horse to me

that I think you lean on, Mike McCarthy, picks up the training,

he and Johnny Be hid. They win a fifth of their races.

Even if Johnny, V isn't familiar with the Course, he'll have a

mile and a sixteenth, the kind of figure it out and moon,

landing has, that's already created.

You know, he's already been there, he's already run their,

he's already run. Well, they're usually horses

figure out the synthetic, the second time that they've been

out, this will actually be his third time up, broke, his made

it, 6 and furlongs at Woodlawn over that more sweeping turn.

And so I do think Woodland, moon landing in the rush, away would

be my top choice and 12 at 12:56.

If you get that kind of price, I think it's very playful.

And night, Grace is Laconia the Laconia Stakes of course name,

for what this track. Used to be named for is a mile

and a sixteenth for four year olds and up another quarter

million dollar race here. Thank you slot-loading.

Okay day for money. Well this is where the the

historical racing machines really shine is on a day like

this, the turquoise Park. And so that's and that's why you

see the jockeys that are in today and that's why I tripped

up on. I read being in Louisiana not

here is because I mean I read flying in to fly this play this

instead of whatever's going on at Gulfstream.

And so the letran you though, my on the 16th like I mentioned for

Phil, he's a sworn up, Grand Avenue girls in this race man.

Is she one last time out over a mile in the Wintergreen and

solicits takes the turf way? She's 4410 lifetime eight times

hitting the board in 10 runs. And they're in overtime in the

game that I turned off. Okay.

All this podcast at the same distance lost by a head.

She's gonna hit the board here. I'm not telling you that Grand

Avenue girl is going to win the race for sure.

But like I mentioned this is the earlier part of that steak

sequence, it's the the first leg of that that all Stakes pick for

if someone's going to possibly just pick off some of these

Lakes, it might be a Lou. Ann Machado has a local drunk

jock here for Percent. But listen to these splits 28

wins, twenty five places 26 shows, all he does is hit the

board, that's 2204 races. So essentially it's 75 of those

races. 80 of those races, he sent the board out of 204.

So he's going to hit the board with this horse of Grand Avenue

girl. The one include her in your

Exotics man. I hadn't really considered her

to be a big threat here because she hasn't run super well lately

but I'm looking at the recent form.

This is second off a layoff or candy red who won the Berman had

here last year. Ended up running in the Oaks

under Alpha bejarano, she gets Kent desormeaux here for Keith.

Desormeaux horse ran last time in the Wintergreen, 9th up the

track, a little bit by 5 and 3/4 length under under riquelme gets

back, you know, guess what? Desormeaux here will be an

interesting runner in this race because she's one of this track

before she's one win in a place in three runs on synthetic and

then they moved her off at right around during a lot of different

places so I'll be interested to see if she can get back to that

form. Even in the my charmer in Or at

your boy, she hit the board. She was second and not by a lot

behind. Kate's Kingdom.

Who at the time was an absolute monster.

There's another horse in this race to watch ill.

Malocchio is in this race. John Velazquez for Martin

Drexler. This horse has been running.

Most recently exclusively in Canada Woodbine similar, similar

course in a lot of different races runs in the La Prairie on.

Say it wins it and then before that in the maple leaf it which

is great instincts up. And yeah at Woodbine over a mile

and a quarter. For that, a mile and a sixteenth

capable of running at this distance.

Of course we're running into my on the 16th year, she was

actually on the Oak Trail. If you remember that that name

two years ago she was on The Ellen Show, trying to qualify

through the gulf. The Gulfstream Park route didn't

work out for her on the dirt. So they moved her back to the

synthetic. She's been great three wins

three places on in 11 tries, she started over four hundred sixty

thousand dollars in her career. Ontario bread, they better for

five grand, Zach, she's already made for, and sixty thousand

dollars. That's right, idiomatic sin,

this race, she is almost exclusively Turfway Park courts.

The five horse here for cried, Crystal and arrows, and Brad,

Cox. It.

If you wanted to go short, this would be the horse.

She's four years old daughter, curling she has been very, very

good in optional claiming company itself a park, but I

think the running style is such that she's going to be first or

second. If she's got the kick down the

stretch, she's gonna win. So I would use any of those

horses and then the absolute Wild Card Escape Kingdom.

The a she was so good here for so long.

Four wins three places in a show in 10 Rounds on the synthetic.

At Turfway Park and at Woodbine in Presque Isle and and I just

at some point, she's going to jump back up into the, into the

she lost. By a length of three quarters of

Grand Avenue Grill last time out, she's 521.

She gets, I read here, is this the race where he's figured out

the courts and race 9 to get back into that form?

I think there's a real chance that that, and so, I think this

is as wide open race, as there is, I didn't even mention

belabor, who's I'll be outside, there's a winner of over a

quarter million dollars. Yourself grunts nothing but high

80s. Low 90s feet figures in lots of

different places ran really well, the Fall City last time

out. It's a really serious grade 3 in

the November meet at Churchill Downs.

Going a mile and an eighth on the dirt Corso before that

though was running on the grass, out in California before that

two wins on the synthetic echoed Gate Fields can Bella more with

Martin Garcia, jump up. I don't know.

Good luck and race night. The call the Kentucky club

classic is the tenth race. Here in a thousand dollars on

the line here in Milan a, for four year, olds and up Michigan

State just took the lead in overtime and I know I was about

to say, no, I didn't. I'm going to watch the replay

later because I have a problem and it's the show as my problem

for about three hundred thousand dollars on the line here.

You've got a couple of pretty serious favorites in here but

you did see some horses that you've seen around with these

tiny kind of ghost is in here and that's a horse that's two

for two on the synthetic at Gulfstream and a serious.

Yes. I mean a serious player here one

a hundred thousand dollar handicap recently in January

that's a horse here that was under floor on true.

Pixel. Johnny V here for Jonathan

Thomas with the trainer. I've just, you know, ran and

actually they've been training him on the synthetic

intentionally. A Gulfstream Park before

shipping him up, whether it's going to be a little warmer here

than it has been. So it's not as not going to be

as shocking. A trip from South Florida to

hear, as it should be sentence in this race.

Man. If class Winston wins this race

has 160 figure, In his path, in the early two million at,

Churchill Downs. I wonder if we so that course

and I was there for that race in August.

That's when the turf course was more of a mud course than it was

a grass course. Yeah.

Yep. Can that translate to the

synthetic? I think it can.

Another added biscuits a ride here which is interesting to me

for Brendon Walsh, Brendon, Walsh hitting only a 13% on the

synthetic. But that's because if you see

that number and you're wondering where it comes from, he's

running, Every level of trick that turquoise scuse me.

Whether it's a nickel, climber a dime clamor up to these kinds of

steak races. If the class was here, it's

going to be safe. And he's a very, very funny

course, things. Cause us here, he's a winner at

this place ran in the Pegasus World Cup.

If it's a tional Turf ran six, but only by 2 and 3/4 length on

their forearms are rou. Gets her out.

Of Corrales who is a local hero here for Mike, make of the two

of them, 17 percent at the track Turf.

Just Turf to sit that except for Mike maker is 19% upon his in

this race under eye. Eddie's been running under Louis

sighs, obviously, Louise. Got to be in Louisiana.

So unavailable for this one is more of a longer longer run

horse or maybe a mile and an eighth on the synthetic will

feel like a mile and a half on the turf.

I'm not sure but just a ton of horses man that are really,

really good competitive forces in the in the in the Kentucky

Cup Classic try to find as many as you can or this might be a

great shot for you to just take a stand.

I mean, I didn't even mention will see how Atlanta cheek which

is the eight horse under Walter Rodriguez who's a young Unger

Rider. But man, that kid is figured it

out. It's her way or bike maker.

They don't get together very often.

The horse lives at Turfway, stays at Turfway.

This is his home course. He's 2 for 3.

Ran a 99 last time. In amount of 16th will only

adding half a furlong. So I mean that's the kind of

horse here. Son of American pharoah if he

keeps his form going. He's 2 for 2 this year.

He's going to win this race so it'll be interesting to see tons

of options in that race we get to the bourbon Ed Oaks.

I include this again as part of the Bayou.

You Bluegrass pick five in the sheet, Green Street Racing.com.

Go check it out. I think in race 11 here, you've

got a couple of different options but I'm going to try to

be a little bit spread out here. The five here was mentioned by

Kevin in our previous segment Botanical loves the course is a

local horse was half a length. Three quarters were like for

breaking her maiden for six figures to keep.

And and so we be talking about the source very differently if

she did that. But this is Brad Cox and he's

not afraid to run a Churchill with or, excuse me at Turfway

with his best horses comes back wins in Maine, special weight by

ten. Links comes back runs against

winners. For the first time was by 4

lengths comes back within the Cincinnati trophy which is the

prep for this race, six and a half lengths against the

competition. This is a massive Step Up in

competition, level from that race.

Not anything like she saw in the Cincinnati trophy including the

ATM who is Flashy gem, John Velazquez rated Turf.

We last time, one of the shorter price is stretching out here.

Second off the layout for Brad Cox.

So this would be the quote unquote.

Other Brad Cox, with John freaking Velasquez.

It's not really the other Chaat, not really the other Brad Cox,

but I, it's one. I don't think you can sleep on

here and then so 58. And then I think the 2 and the 1

are worth playing here only because Brandon Wolfe.

Also has hit three of his last nine.

With first time in North America you get I read here.

Has he figured out the course by this point.

He's coming in from from a couple of synthetic races where

she ran second in France. And so is there, is there a

chance that she likes the surface that she trains?

Well, here, I don't know. But with Brendon Walsh and irad.

I just think there's a chance they win.

And then my longer shot here at 12:54 Mark has, he has Renegade

Rebel in here, he and Hernandez. Not great at church.

So far. But together overall. 15% ran in

the mazarin last time. In one at Woodbine over a mile

and a sixteenth. Woodlawn.

So, That we lost your Lou. And my back.

Yeah, okay. There we go.

Up at Woodbine. I'm saying, Woodlawn Woodbine,

I'm sorry. And so up at Woodbine Inn.

So if you if you think that there's a chance that this horse

codes from great a company up there, a couple a little bit of

time off a little bit of a break here but I think this is the

spot. They were aiming for anyway, try

to qualify for the Kentucky. Oaks Renegade Rebel would be

that horse. So I landed on for and that spot

when the the race of the day, seven hundred thousand dollar

grade 3, Jeff Ruby Stakes major. Dude makes a spot here.

Congruent is here. Coming off his win in the

Battaglia and of course you've also got in my opinion.

The other horse to watch here is the 11 wodsworth.

This is the other Brad Cox and so to me back-to-back 82 speed

figures of Turfway Park. You got to remember it's halfway

in 82 is more like a 94 at 88 or something like that

back-to-back. 1 by 10 links. It is made in win, comes back

against winners for the first time, over takes the field from

mid pack and goes ahead and runs away.

It both races, the note in the Sheep, by the way.

Written out. So the horse by the end of the

race, whatever the length distance is between him and

second place is is is affected by the fact that the horse was

not going as hard as he possibly could at the end of the race.

So he does have to step up in class here obviously into a

grade 3 into a derby qualifier, 100-point qualifier that puts

you in the race but I think is absolutely part of the equation

here. Kevin was a little critical of

major dude, getting the the perfect trip in the kittens Joy.

Last time I disagree I think great forces make their trips in

some cases. And in this case I think it's

absolutely the case. I don't think pleasure is going

to run this horse on the Derby. I think he knows that this horse

is a blessing. Absolutely.

A term for us going forward. Maybe they take a shot in the

derby, maybe the clear ski Farm folks want to do that.

The clear sky Farm. Scuse me folks want to do that,

but I am not at. I'm not at all.

Sure that he's a Derby winner and so he's got the absolute.

He's bred for it. Bold or oh, and just short of

humor. I mean, they read for it.

It isn't that? It's just this horse really

seems to like the turf and it's we'll see how it goes.

But I would include the one. I would include the eighth and I

would include the 11 to close out that I And Bluegrass pick

five all about available. Again at Green Street rates, and

green tea racing.com. Or wherever it is that you by

your cheek. Go.

Check it out. Also, this looks like a really

exciting game that I missing Zach.

I know I'm watching it in a separate browser window.

It's 42 seconds left State down by two points, but they've been

showing in the over time. They can come back up.

So here's hoping. There you go.

All right, brother. Anything else we need to do?

I don't think so looks good. It was a great week.

All right, cool. All right.

Well, place out then and we'll get out of here. 51 minutes

showing face Mike, we appreciate Kevin koury.

At trust your luck on Twitter. And of course, good luck to

everybody betting down at Louisiana or xrf.

We park this weekend. All right, this has been the

horse racing happy hour. I'm lubo, he's producers act

will see you next week. Bye bye.

open.

Horse Racing Happy Hour
