All right, welcome to a horse race in.

Happy hour LIVE edition, from the Indiana Derby.

My candle here and joined as always by my good friend L Bo.

Hey, Louis, how's it going to do great fun day so far.

Our little little dokic, a little German Jonathan, a little

racing Rachel? Yeah.

Well they've ever Tammy little Tami.

You go. Yeah, you know, like little

little Ed DeRosa looking walking right past his loved one and

while we were in the docket showed he wasn't I saw you

something like that. Yeah, so yeah, the second time

up here and we are super excited.

The hospitality here Hospitality here is amazing.

But if you're in Louisville or you're in Bear within a two-hour

Drive, This place it is totally worth the trip.

Yeah, no, you know what? If you're in California, you

should fly here. It doesn't matter.

Louis, and it was gonna be a good day today.

You know how I knew that, okay? Because my poop schedule was on

point. Oh yeah.

Listen. Like, is there anything better?

And knowing first off, you have to have the right coffee in the

morning to trigger. You feel, as you get older, you

figure this stuff out to our now that I know exactly what you're

talking about. And then, when you had that

great poop right before you get in the shower, you know, it's

going to be a good day. That is what it's all about here

in the horse racing. Happy, are we again?

Mike and Louis live from horseshoe Indianapolis, the the

racing track here, we got the bar in the background, very,

very fitting for us. And we are making our second

appearance here at the Indiana Derby.

We're going to. Here's what we're going to do

today is we're going to it's going to be a quick easy stream.

We're going to. This is a this is a huge day for

them. They they just ran their first

of eight stakes races are weary. And we're not Go through all

eight stakes races. We're going to go the last five

because there's a mandatory payout in this last big five.

That's that's Pro, everything's mandatory.

Yeah. And so but yeah they pick five.

The reason I want to play it is because the takeout right at 12

percent and so super playable Lopez take out.

We're also going to talk about race is 7 and 9 of Belmont

because the last three races here are part of that

cross-country nairo pick five. Also low take out rate of 15%,

so very approachable. So get on those butts today.

Yeah, so hopefully you're watching us.

Live on Twitter or Facebook or wherever you might be watching.

It's just you have any questions or comments?

Put them in the in the show and we'll get you in as we go.

Otherwise if you're what listening to the replay.

Hopefully we're going to give you out a lot of really good

winners, but we're going to start right now with race eight

which is the Michael G Schaefer Memorial which is just over a

mile to a mile and 70 yards. They do that here again because

of the mile races would start basically right in the turn.

They give a little bit of a run up.

This race is for three-year-olds enough on the dirt.

A purse. So Louis in this race, we see

The Return of mr. Wireless.

Who won last year's Indiana Derby?

Are we going to see a Repeat Performance from him?

And is he going to win this one? I think we absolutely could

5212. Sean Parker gets them out here,

over 6,000 career victories now for DeSean really, really

talented guy. And so absolutely.

You normally don't play Indiana, he's one of those pieces.

You got ya. He's one of them.

Fernando de la Cruz in this raised.

Martin Garcia a lot of guys to spend a lot of time up here.

Mr. Wireless, absolutely has a good shot here.

Seems to love the course. He's 2 for 3 lifetime at the

distance, actually, choose a real good Miler.

The other was a second place finish last year, when see Andy

under Derby goes to West, Virginia wins the West Virginia

Derby, and then runs in the Oklahoma Derby, doesn't quite

work out over at Remington. He s off the layoffs here,

coming out of a mild one, turn race at Churchill Downs, where

he finished sixth in kind of up the track.

I'm expecting him to month, much much better here.

His works at Churchill Downs. Owls have been tremendous since

then. Looks like he just needed that

race and has a real serious shot here.

I think Thomas Shelby though the six Morning Line, favorite is

the horse to beat, we just watch David Cohen, get totally knows

out in the first. X-rays here seems to be in good

form right now. With trainer Robert T, do do it

Dora that horse coming out of a couple of crappy races, frankly

at Oaklawn. But coming off of a layoff do

you adore hitting at 25 percent? So seems to have placed this

horse in a spot with a little bit of a freshening could come

back and run. Really, really well.

Isn't in that grade 3 Razorback where you finish second by a

neck against Plainsman other. Good horses is run against Lone,

Rock and Rated-R Superstar. They seem to know what they want

to do with this horse. Who is 245 Lifetime, by the way,

over wet go. It is currently muddy.

My senses will be in the good territory by the time we get

there. I would think so.

I won't be money. I mean is the rain stopped the

hopefully son's going to peek through a little bit and start

driving this track out. But yeah I think that's I think

that's fair. Yeah.

And then I think it's one of the third horse.

I think spa city if you wanted something.

Underneath the eighth. Joe tell Mike, make out of a

male and a 16th at Churchill Downs.

Ran, ran third a little bit up the track behind masks were paid

no shame in losing to master paid that day.

And so before that though was running really well, has had a

career-high going to turns at Oaklawn Park in a speed figured

this year. So coming off the claim, first

time Mike Baker, this is what he does.

First off the claim running back at a Stakes spa city, the 8 is

10 to 1. If you're looking for a longer

price I'm gonna stick with two horses here, 6 and Idiot.

And by the way, that's actually you're taking South Bend out of

the picture with that, you're taking helium who ran the

Kentucky Derby out of that equation.

Yeah, this Lake card is loaded, but you all don't even

understand how deep the fields are this year.

This is Alyssa Stakes race. That's got horses that have tons

of grade. 3, grade 1, grade 2 experience and it's just a

really, really solid solid field.

So big right there. Thomas, Shelby, mr.

Wireless sticking on those two and Dove or some other players

there that could factor in but Louise pretty compost.

Teas. All right, it's not on little

bit of an interesting storyline. We had a horse and race.

Not, he was the favorite moments who was also entered into the

Indiana. Derby is going to run in the

Indiana Derby. And so the favorite is out of

the nine and Louis, I know that there's a long shot play here

that you really, really like this is a horse that I like to

even if moms was going to run and that is the, that is the

seven Jeopardy 3, 10 to 1:00 in the morning line.

So, if you're looking for a longer price, this Might be it

runs six times on the dirt. It just doesn't or five times on

the dirt. Excuse me just doesn't work out

moves to the turf suddenly were 242, I get it.

Maiden special weight win is through a disqualification.

I think though it was lost by a nose winds through that DQ comes

back and wins against winners. First time out in a forty, one

thousand dollar allowance here against non to lifers, those

times and up that routing on the turf here at Indiana are very,

very good and they're winners. Frankly, Tim glacial.

Local guy Artie Marcelino Pros. Excuse me, two of them, not

hitting it, a huge and great rate, but a lot of Tim's numbers

make sense here, he doesn't pick a lot of steaks to run.

And remember this is a state breads race.

He's to 45 in his last five, steaks and see seems to pick

these spots really. Well, I think the move to turf

or Jeopardy. Theory has been the biggest

difference. Should absolutely have a major

shot here. Other horses are going to be

trying the turf for the first time.

New Year's fever bothers me a little bit only because Trader

Brandy steel with the first time turfers has over.

In the last time. The last seven out it's

something like 2415 or 3415, no 2415, excuse me, her last dirt

to Turf transitions, so not a great percentage there.

The horse is talented, though. 242 lifetime does have a

reasonably good speed figure, especially in this company.

But I'm gonna, I'm gonna bank here on the longer shot.

Jeopardy, Theory to come through, improving buyer on the

grass, seems to be training. Well, so I'm going to stick with

Jeopardy. Theory, is my long shot, pick in

this sequence. All right, I like it a lot.

We're going to move on to the 10th race.

Here and again this 10th race is important because this is the

first race that's included in that cross country pick five

with the two races at Belmont and it is he 13 running of the

Jonathan V Schuster Memorial Stakes.

It is a list of states per 100,000.

This one's on the turf. Louis the turf course here has

definitely held better with the moisture than the Dirk or says

it's already listed as good. Don't think the turquoise is

going to be a problem. Oh, not at all.

When we That when we get there, we got the return of Ivar in

this race. This is you love this angle

because, you know, I know you'll get into here a little bit but

it's directly goes into what's happening at Churchill.

Downs with the turf course they are.

Ivar has not raced since that Breeders Cup mile, where he came

in. Third, you know, the return of

I've are you like, I've are here, I do, like, I've are here,

but that's more because Paulo will brings horses off of

extended layoffs, back at 30%. Or getting a super super

talented horse here. Six years old.

Now 5411 lifetime, super lightly racehorse, but to go to 45 last

year in, excuse me, in 2020, didn't win last year, in a 2021,

but did run that really huge really good.

Third within two legs of space Blues, who was one of my like

favorites that day? It was just a horse that I

thought was going to love the mile ended up doing exactly

that. And so I do like I've are

coming, you have to play three horses here.

You have to play Some Like It Hot Brown, who seems to win a

third of his races because that's true.

He is what he that's what he for literally.

He is coming. S up the layoffs but he ran into

him on. He's done better than that.

On the turf he's 5 for 11 on the chair that's fair.

So you know this is a perfect routine.

Yeah. Very similar numbers and so

before 49 at the distance for seconds at the distance as well

seems to like that Mile in a sixtieth a little bit extra time

to run but will be the front-runner here and so with

good cool, some little Harper. Or make up that ground.

Might be a case where we see him come in rafah bejarano on a

really nice kick as well. So trust him very much in the

irons and then I think Duke of Hazzard.

What's the word Bryant Hernandez jr.

Is one that you leave out at your own Peril 95 and 89 speed

figures since coming to the United States.

Hasn't won yet finished behind Maze and in at Belmont last time

out in the sink. Again, I think we both thought

Miz and last time out was one of the locks of the we yeah.

Wins by five lengths. So it wasn't as though, it

wasn't as though Dukes of Hazzard ran a bad race.

But I'm Include all three of them.

So 16 and 12 I hate doing that because this is usually in these

kinds of turf races is where you try to get your value.

Instead, I'm going to trust that the chalks.

Can we try something else? All right, let's move on.

Then to the Indiana. Oaks the grade 3, Indiana Oaks,

you're just on a dandaka just show and talking about how

important it is that these great three races here at the Indian

Ocean. The Enderby have got that great

3, rating for breeding. And people want their horses in

these fields and the Oaks and Abhi reflect that and we get us

a late, scratch your candy raid horse that we did see in the

Kentucky Oaks. And to me it really opens up the

field and I think Interstate Daydream the winner.

The Black-Eyed. Susan is a, like, no doubt about

it, favor here. Do you feel the same way?

Totally agree that she's a big favorite.

This though is to me where Brad Cox really usually flexes his

steaks muscle. I think you leave podna out of

your card, out of your tickets at your own risk.

Him are Pedrosa hitting it, 21% of Indiana so they have really

figured it out up here. That horse is on the improve

finishes. Third first time out wins next

time out in a maiden special weight company at Keeneland

moves to Churchill Downs at that one.

Turn long mile that they run seemed to love the extra

distance, just absolutely love the extra distance.

Hold clear away from that field as well, gets to keep Lasix

because you could run on Lasix and Indiana and graded Stakes.

So I like that angle a lot. I'm just using Brad Cox in this

race for you. Five, thank flow though.

Flow of Graphics. Yeah, I thought 40% it in a, so

if you were going to single in this sequence, it's probably

Interstate Daydream probably. But I do think the partners one

of those horses that I think if she won, we'd all go.

Well, yeah. Of course you won.

Is it one of those? And, by the way, an interesting

thing here, because we see, the first of Kingman P, has got an

entry in the Oaks and the Derby. Both horses, ran last week at

Churchill Downs. Literally runaway wife while we

were on the air on ESPN Louisville. 680 was running her

race and we see a week later the return of these seahorses now,

in the, the Indiana Oaks, which we're going to talk about.

Next that horse happens to be the favorite rattle.

Roll are the Derby up. Yeah, so Rattle and Roll 5221

the the American Derby last year last week?

I'm sorry at Churchill Downs. I listen, I don't like the yeah,

I think rattle role could be very vulnerable.

I don't like the short leg. I think about that.

I don't hate it as much as you do, for sure.

But I mean we're talking seven days, man, and that is that is

old school. That's Iran in the derby.

Then I ran a race before the Preakness and then I ran in the

Preakness stuff from the 50s, right hook for these.

Yeah, Katie McPeak is unusual this way.

He's not afraid to take a shot. He's not afraid to go after

these kinds of spots, if he thinks he's got a horse doing

that. Reminder, that American Derby

last week was supposed to be on the grass.

They moved it to the dirt, obviously, because of the

conditions at Churchill Downs. Runs great on the dirty think

scripts. Here we go, may as well, run

them. And so he's here, I'm with you,

he's not my top selection in this race and so I agree with

you that. I don't think he's your most

likely winner. I think you got to spread here

because I think there are a lot of different horses that can

win. I have best actor on top.

I think there might be a brad Cox sweep of the Oaks and Derby

this year. Best actor, Third Run ever,

first time, first time going to turns since the beginning of the

middle of April, scuse me at Oaklawn Park.

He won over sloppy, go that day. It made special way.

I like that. He's gotten wet experience.

He's got past experience. I think by the time we get to

the door and we're bloody and rear 5 here so we're probably

good not and not fast. I like that.

He's got that kind of experience.

I think I'll be fine here so I've got him on top.

I have actuator the eight in the second spot.

Just ran a blistering. 120 17 for a longer at Churchill Downs,

over seven furlongs. I said, made special weight,

120, 120 thousand, the very very highest and second off.

Lay off here as well. So Mike maker again entering

these horses. Are these great spots, he and

James Graham are 34 their excuse me to, for their last seven

together should be interesting. I try to figure out if there's

going to be a lot of early Pace here because I think there will

with horses that haven't run a lot if that's the case.

The new NoHo can pick this race off because he had to be, did

he? Did you know?

Yeah, that's, that's all. I'm just noticing that.

I'm sorry, Owens. Here for my pics.

I also I mentioned the for King ottoman who's coming out?

Broke his Maiden in the Texas Derby going to turns into mile

and a sixteenth. So if Steve asmussen is going to

win today, I think it's going to be with that horse and I think

he's got a really bad asthma. So I will play for six seven and

eight. All right, so just to throw a

little wrinkle on that, too. We have some long shots that

have some success on a truck. So, first Glimpse has finished

second and it's only Bear on a wet track that horse right now

is 22 1 with Orlando meheeco board.

Moens, the horse that we talked about earlier, who scratched out

of the other race, the race, Indiana Derby one, his start at

a, on a wet track and then 821 fallow blue, the tin horse also

is 141 on a wet track just horses too kind of made me keep

track of actually I kind of got a sneaky suspicion about about

either first quarter moons potentially pull them off the

upset here. We just had the winners of the

last Stakes race walks about the with the flowers, the tree and

the battle Clausen. That's the muddy sound settle

for everybody sailcloth. Yeah.

So there you go. All right Louis let's go.

Let's move on to Belmont then. Two races at Belmont.

They are the Belmont Oaks in the Belmont Derby and both of these

are Turf races. So let's start with the Belmont.

Oaks could be like in that was living.

So the Belmont Oaks I landed on Lois, let's go.

That would be great Charlie Appleby and Frankie to Tori.

I'm leaning Euro heavy today in the three-year-old races at

Belmont and yes she is still in the race rated Bill.

Buick the last couple of times X Out has one going left-handed

twice. It's so that's what I always

look for. When these horses are coming

over. Did they run going the same

turning? The waiter that we turn in the

United States. You ever worry that a horse

that's only gone right-handed comes over to the US and Coach

turned left hand. It doesn't work out no concern

with, with the Moonlight who's won both going straight line and

going left handed. So, I had the 4 on top and then

I went to the five which is consumer spending.

I think the best chance for an American horse to win here.

Coming out of the wind in the Wonder again, over a yielding.

Go at the Belmont, one at Aqueduct as well.

In April they seem to like to paste, you know, Chad Brown, New

York, Turf course. Some, we've heard this before a

point I've made. A couple weeks ago when we

talked about Chad Brown and Manny Franco.

It was 30%, they were winning. They're now up to 32 percent.

They keep winning and winning and winning.

He really trusts many Franco. It's one of his go-to jockeys

now superseded by Rise Up. Yes, 215.

Consumer spending is 242 this year, not only on the 10 Concert

Hall. Ended up being the morning line

favorite here. Three, two, one.

In, O'Brien, Ryan Moore 25%. First time, North American

horses with Edna O'Brien, the two of them are 243 in North

America this year at Belmont. It's 27% over their last 11 runs

and so, just just the connections and everything else.

With this horse has won going left-handed.

And so, I'll be interested to see if we could get that kind of

thing again, before 5:00 and 10:00.

I would lean more on those longer price horses, 45 in that

race. But that would be how I would

kick off the cross-country. Pick five spooky caspi Captain

telling us that there's more than corn in Indiana.

That's right. That's good.

Good horse racing going on today figure.

There's corn though to there is we've had quite a bit of corn

coming here. There's no doubt about 80.

Brian actually has, I think the favorite as well in the gum

Derby mistake. Okay.

Bring his. I think it's right.

But, we're also seeing here in the Belmont Derby, Classic

Causeway making the move to turfed is the bomb, making the

move to Turf anywho factors into this race significant scratch in

this race. Emmanuelle is out because of a

clerical error. Oh, and then I ratcher a Tyrell.

Oh, that's a massive scratch out.

That's a massive Miss for that race.

So Something to keep your eye on.

Is that a manual? And I read Ortiz, I forgot to

put his name in the book part of something.

Yeah. And and we'll try to be kind

here. I like to know what happened and

I think. So I landed on the 10 here at

nation's Pride. Charlie Appleby Frankie to Tory,

Charlie Appleby first time in North America has won seven of

his last 12. Wow, so he doesn't ship for no

reason. This horse is coming in out of

winning. The new markets takes one, the

Jumeirah Derby, as well has won four Stakes just this year and

so I'm like, excuse me. To allowances in a steak just as

here. It's so I'm looking for that

horse to continue that kind of form.

I went outside then to the 13th for Stone Age, which is Ryan

Moore name know, Brian again. All those numbers are exactly

the same. Oh, by the way, with the 10, I

forgot to mention 343, jockey trainer combination Charlie,

I'll be in Frankie to Tori the last three that they brought in

North America. So very, very worthwhile.

Look, 13 stone age again, I'm running with the Euro here,

ain't no Brian. Ryan Moore has won twice this

year in the derby trial at leopards town.

And then before For that in the the never the never beaten.

And so at a mile and a quarter, both of those races were going a

mile and a quarter here, ran it. A mile and a half last timeout.

Didn't like it finish up the track.

We're going to shorten backup for that horse at it, which is

crazy on my little quarterback. That's exactly what they're

doing. And I went to the 11 Emmanuel,

who scratched out. So we're not going to talk about

that horse. And then Napoleonic Wars the

three who I like this. A lot 10:00 to 1:00 in the

morning line. Flavian, Pratt, Chad Brown,

Chad. Brown flavian at 12:50 double,

the jobs will take that the poliana kwar.

Never got. In the Pennington reg and so

just finish, it was right there Mile and an eighth right behind

a manual who scratched out and so I'm wondering if flavian

doesn't try to press a little bit more, maybe not on the lead

but maybe set spot third spot, that kind of thing where we

might get a little bit better of a pay scenario for that horse.

So I ended up Landing 10 13 and 3 in the Belmont Derby

Invitational. There you go.

There's your picks for the today.

We hope you have a great day of racing.

Louis, you love it up here, don't you?

Love it up here. I was telling Mike all the way

up here. I said if this place for a

half-hour closer to my house, my wife would never see.

They would be a problem. Yeah, it's fantastic.

We really appreciate all the people here and in horseshoe

Indiana. Indianapolis.

Sorry. For shooting that was for

including us big. Shout out to our supporters with

green sheets, green sheets. Of course, if you're going out

They do a fantastic, you know, they've been a staple to me at

the track for a long time. So, all right, Louis.

Let's pay the bill. Let's get out of here.

Thanks for listening. This is the horse racing.

Happy hour.
