Each week at this time, we had a conundrum.

No Santa, neither do we do a show.

And then I realized I work with Barry Spears and there's betting

in Southern California in a place called LaSalle.

And so we're going to do little LaSalle preview on this one.

It's funny, good. It's funny.

The court horse thing. When I got sick in 2020, I had

just got out of the hospital and I played Los Al that night.

I mean, this is during the pandemic, so there wasn't really

many tracks going on and I. Oaklawn like that was it man

like. Nobody was running down.

Spent $40 on the early pick. 4. And amassed about 3500 bucks.

Yeah, it was right on time too. I was sick.

I could I could hardly move. But it was fun.

And then the week after, I went on the podcast with Caleb and

Caitlin. Yeah.

What a throwback that is. There's babies now, and they ate

Caleb. I know with Barry.

Derby works this morning at Churchill Downs.

Almost in the way that we go from Santa Anita to Los Al.

I need us to go from Keeneland to like a A6 horse car to

Turfway. I just need it.

stinks. But.

You thought about it too, didn't?

It's like I did an 11 horse field in a $7500.

Claimer on the Plastique. Right now that's exactly right.

But we're going to go through the low sale card at 8, an 8

race card out there. The feature is the closer.

The Virginia Highland is a $35,000 stakes race.

We'll talk about that one. To close the show.

I put together a couple of pick fours.

Barry is very busy being a bum and did not put together a

couple of pick fours. I don't think he wants.

No, I'm just kidding. Mary I.

Really like these cigars. Should I?

Is this so every year I get a nice box of cigars or two boxes,

if they're smaller boxes of cigars that I bring to the media

section and I kind of just hand them out and become like,

unsurprising to everyone, the cigar guy of the media section

at Derby. If I just like these, I should

just get the ones I like, right? Even if they're not like the

nicest, most expensive, whatever, just get the ones I

like right? Yeah, because you're probably

going to smoke more of them than anybody.

So buy a lot. At least get what you like,

right? I man, I would have to guess.

So 10 cigars that week for me. 15 Derby.

Week. Not many?

No, that's not that much unless you're eating them.

I'm not doing that. No, it's not.

It's a clear, it's a fair question, all right.

No, you ain't wrong about that. Are you ready to?

Handicap. Yes, Sir, always.

Lois Al race one on Saturday. Of course we are going a little

bit longer to start and we get real quarter horsey at the end

here. A $14,500 purse in the first.

A non 2 lifer event here. 1000 yards.

This is for three-year olds and up on the Philly and mare side

that have never won two races. Very Race 1 means you get to go

first to your fun. Feel the same?

Yeah, this, it's a nice little race here.

You know, it's, it's funny because when you handicap these,

the 1000 and the four and a half kind of look the same, but

they're actually quite different.

That being said, I like to bring all the principles from the

thoroughbred world into the Quarter Horse world and we have

a horse that's lightly raced, ran pretty good.

First time in the maiden of this sort, last time in one Stars

Hollow, the three and seems to be or ran faster than anybody in

this race, maybe with the exception of the four, and that

was a while ago. The four ran a race like that

and they they weren't even close to winning.

So I went with the three. Stars Hollow looks like they lay

over this field as long as they get to the lead.

I think they might be too tough for these.

Star Stallow 2 follows a pattern Barry, where we see a horse

start in those maiden special ranks, especially on the Cal

bred side of things. It seems out there at you know,

a place like Del Mar or Santa Anita.

This one began its life on the turf.

They tried the dirt last time at Santa Anita there in February,

just didn't work. They get to easier company here

at Los Al and they just seem to love at the shorter distance all

the things. I totally agree with you.

I landed on the three on top you and I frankly have the same cold

exact to here 3 and one with tough Virginia.

She's 8 to one in here, man. But I'm with you if you throw

out that last race at Santa Anita, let her get back to low

Sal here. I think she makes a lot of sense

in the second spot. Yeah, I ran pretty good in March

8th at low Sal. Then they they tried it over at

the big track and it just didn't work out, just wasn't fast

enough early and they kind of got buried.

Get gets back to a level where they're probably fit a lot

better. I mean honestly they are a

little bit of a stretch because this is allowance company non

winners of two, but coming. Out of a Maiden 5?

Yep. Comparing speed figures and

everything else, this horse is right there with everybody else

and lightly raced, which is a plus for me because you know,

once these horses start getting a lot of losses and, and kind of

get beaten up in this company, they change a little bit.

But I I think tough Virginia has a pretty good shot.

They're going to be out there trying to vie for the lead as

well, but I think that might be a good move here.

We've already got a really good number on the stream You D Jens,

I love you. I we're we're like, hey, sales

show. Do we not do 300 people here are

for raise? One run it up.

Oh, let's go. All right.

Happy Hour pop podcast platform. Easy for me to say I've only

been up for 10 hours, Barry. How about?

That only these. 2 here old man start of a nice pick.

Got to get on my plan all the time I.

Just awake. That's right.

I Barry, you know, one of my favorite place.

I get it. I'll, I'll show some pick fours

because everybody gets in on the pick 4 pool at LaSalle, man, I

always find that if you have an opinion at LaSalle because of

how the pick threes are staggered the way they are, man,

you can make some bank on a pick 3.

And so I, I'll often, you know, play like an $8 ticket.

So that's two horses in each leg, that kind of thing.

I'll play like a 222 man for those.

Those kinds of tickets, Barry, They consistently hit for over

100 bucks and so I love those kinds of things.

Pick three starts here in Race 2, we're going 4 1/2.

This is on the thoroughbred side of things.

It's a $4000 claimer, 4 Phillies and mares 3 and up, which have

never won two races. Even number races means I go 1st

and I landed here on the inside horse, the one in only

reputation and this one last out was very close in a 6250 and

before that very similar there as well.

Once moving to Los Al at this kind of level has been

considerably better. Camacho Flores gets them out

here, which is interesting away from Escobedo.

I don't love that aspect of this, but Escobedo not available

on the card at all, frankly and so it's an interesting move.

There some others in here that I would rather have a board, but

this one did show some ability before.

This would have to be Camacho Flores's first win at the meet

for this to happen, but I don't think Ryan Hansen putting this

horse in this spot by accident either.

On the on the in the second spot I have Mio Forza.

She'll break from the four in for the tag as well.

Comes out of a maiden five. I just think this level makes

sense and her time in the four and a half last time would be a

winning one in this kind of company and a kitten pursue.

We'll break on the outside was very close as well at a lower

level though at the 3200. So I'll give her a third spot in

here rather than the second Barry, just because she will

have to perform a little bit better if she's going to hit the

money again. So 1/4 and seven for me in Race

2. But I know you disagree with me.

You like that. Seven on the outside.

Yeah, I do. I I think this horse is very

well meant in this spot for a lot of reasons.

They got claimed last time, which was November 1st, 2025.

They're putting the blinkers on. Yeah, as well, getting a good

rider in Francisco Monroy. I I think that that Francisco

Rodriguez, the trainer is doing very, very well with his barn.

Very good numbers. First off, the claim, I think

the makeover package and everything suits this horse very

well and I think they're going to give maximum effort here.

I you know how I feel about favorites on the rail.

We try to beat them all the time.

I think Kitten for Soup has a really good shot here. 4 to 1

fair price. Let's go for it 71.

And two for Barry. The only horse we have not

talked about in that trio is Jaeger Angel here.

What do you make of her chances? Breaking from the two, I think

she's a pretty good closer in here and and might be able to

pick up some pieces late. I think 2nd place is probably

her ceiling, but she's good enough to to keep running into

the to, you know, third. 2nd place finishes all the time.

In fact, they don't have any thirds, but we're kind of 2nd.

2nd works well largely. Through two races here, Barry, I

think both of us agree. If you wanted to get really

aggressive in the first race, signaling that three makes a lot

of sense in that spot, that's the most likely winner in that

race. Would you use just the one and

the seven here Barry in that pick 4?

I wouldn't even use the one me personally, I would just hold

deck, the three seven and then spread in the last two races.

OK. Yeah, no, I think that's a

reasonable take out there from Barry Spears.

Maiden 15,000 here for Phillies and mares that are three and up

and look they're they're running for $15,000 Barry.

So it's not a claiming race, just so people are aware on this

side of things. But an odd numbered race means

you go first. Where'd you?

Land yeah it landed on the four first time starter in girlfire.

I had some pretty good works I actually watched a replay of one

of the works the last one on March 20th and it was pretty

decent. The barn does pretty well first

time out getting one of their better riders and not much

appeal to the horses that have already run.

Honestly and and and I figured this horse might have a little

bit of an edge because they haven't proven to be any sort of

loser yet. Works for adequate.

Let's go fired away. Nice.

Long work there for sure. A great work from the gate in

January. If we were closer to January,

Barry would be singling that for for the rest of time.

And by the way, I didn't bring it up, but the pick 6 does start

here. The $2.00 pick six there at Los

Alamitos. Always a popular bet.

Barry four and six for you. I landed on the six on top here,

so I'll go with daddy gave it to me.

I cannot believe I just had to say that on.

Air Damn. But Edgar Preyerus gets them

out, you and I. Two times.

All that guy does is win a third of the races at Los Al.

So yes, I'll lean on Edgar Preyerus here.

The six horse Orantis had the mount last time at Santa Anita.

I think dropping into company here makes total sense here,

Barry. This one was last seen at locile

in a maiden 16 five on the thousand 1000 yard side of

things. So I think getting back to this

kind of thing, I don't love betting a horse that hasn't won

in 16 races, but here we are. It's just that kind of field.

I totally agree with you about the first timer.

And then I went to the 2 here in big coin.

Another one that's been spending a lot of its time trying to

figure this out. But I thought finally last time

really puts together a race that can hold up in this kind of

company. And frankly, the one before that

at San Anita at the maiden 20 level made a lot of sense here

too. I probably would have picked

this horse on top coming out of that race.

So I think the the the two here makes sense as well.

So 642 for me. You've got the seven in your

third spot here in go Prance a lot.

Has anyone ever told you to go Prance a lot?

Not yet, but it's probably, it's probably coming.

The more tracks that I visit, I'm sure somebody's going to say

this. Encourage prancing.

Yes. Right.

Yeah. But I thought this horse kind of

got with their friends the last two races on the the short

locile and with the speed that there is or could be in this

race, I think this horse could pick up some pieces at a decent

price. 8 to 1 seems about right. The barn hasn't won a race yet,

but they're knocking on the door.

I think this one is is still going to come close.

I don't think they can win this race, but I think they can be in

the picture for sure. Shout out to our guy Josh

I was 6, four and two and here Barry, 46 and seven in race

three there at Los Alamitos on Saturday, SoCal Saturdays on the

Horse racing happy Hour. Lou Irbo and Barry Spears

hanging out with you. Move on to race 4 here, Barry, A

maiden 3500. How about that?

That is the claim price and it is an $8000 purse. 4 1/2 on the

on the dirt here. We're on the thoroughbred side

of things here, Barry. This is an interesting race and

I'll go first here in race 4 and throw up.

Throw up my picks 7, three and five in here for me.

Fire aisle will break from the outside in the seven here for

Ryan Hansen, who I'm apparently hoping will have a very, very

good day. Camacho Flores gets them out for

him here is yet to win again as I point out, but Escobedo

unavailable so Camacho Flores takes them out here.

This one was really close first time at this level.

Barry. I think another attempt at this

level makes a lot of sense and should get it done should he get

out of the gate a little bit faster.

Even I think this one might run away with this race went to the

three after that in beauty Jenny.

She's going to be the chalk here and I'll put her in the second

spot because she is moving from 5:00 to 3500.

I think it's a good move by the the ownership here.

Angela Aquino trains and First off, the the claim is not a

great number for here, but she's really good on the dirt and main

claimers in general. She hits at 14%, so I think

that's plenty good to put her in the second spot here.

The five horse then is a free nomination.

Another one of the chalks unfortunately, but Oscar Heredia

claimed this one last time for 5000.

Drops this one in for 3500 thrown on the blinkers to try to

get a little bit more speed into this one has never paired with

Bautista, though, so an interesting race that way.

Barry where some of the favorites unknown connections as

far as working together an interesting race here in race

four, I think kind of unintouchable.

Yeah, actually, yeah, this is an interesting race, but I'm with

you. I went to the seven fire aisle.

I think they found their friends last time.

The Source ran a much improved race should get a decent trip

from the outside. I I think they're the goods in

the spot almost so that in the pick four.

I might have a ticket version of this with three singles using

this one as the third single Yeah, play for 5 bucks or

something right right, right and use a couple in in the 3rd.

I'm sorry in in the fifth Yeah right.

You throw 5. In that last race to play for 50

bucks. That's nothing.

That's yeah, right. So you know, we'll we'll get

creative with that. I thought the five free

nomination got roughed up the last two races and and I think

they have a decent shot. I I I wish this price wasn't so

low, but they they kind of earned it.

This horse has been running good, just hasn't gotten over

the hump into the winter spot at this level.

Same thing with beauty Jenny. I think they found their friends

last time, but you know, I, I, I don't think you can really drop

any further. And I just don't like the way

that this horse runs. They they kind of lag behind the

field 8 to 5's kind of tough to take on a horse that closes in

short races. So we're going to just go with

the seven fire aisle on top and fire away fire.

Aisle $3 a three-year old excuse me, daughter of City of Light.

How about that? Bred in Florida by Woodford

Thoroughbred should be an interesting entrant in that one

that closes the early pick four. We start the late pick 4 here in

a race of five. We're talking Los Alamitos here

on the horse racing happy hour. I'm I'm Louis Rabo.

move now to the purely quarter horse part of the card.

Barry, are you we have never done this on this show.

All of us become Quarter Horse experts after a couple whiskeys

on Saturday, don't we? I mean, all of us turn into

Steve Anderson all of a sudden. All of us turn into Lowe's

ponies all of a sudden. All of us turn into Mark Clausen

all of a sudden. Who else am I going to mention

from the Quarter Horse ranks? That was pretty good.

All of us turn into QH Eddie after a few drinks on Saturday.

It's a pretty good job, IB. That's four different people in

very different parts of the. Country I personally would try

to turn into LESO. NACA, my guy.

And then I'll I'll turn into Brian Lynch because I'll be

firing with the the Australian contingent.

Typically if I get that far, usually on Fridays, I I

definitely get that far. Saturdays, it's like I might

fall asleep before that. Exactly right.

Wake up. Wake up in the middle of the

night. Bet Australia.

That's exactly right. But Race 5.

I've done that made. In 8500 it is an allowance,

excuse me, made special weight 85 thousand 8500 Is the purse 3

and up on this one, Barry, I thought.

An interesting race for sure. And the fact that this is 3 and

up and there are only three-year olds in here I thought was also

interesting. Where did you land in this one?

I landed on the horse first time starter.

Fun and favorite the three. Nice work out there.

February 4th, You know you don't see anything until March 4th,

but I'm sure the horse has been on the track plenty.

Juan Aleman does very well first time out, 19% hooks up with

Arriaga. I think all the elements are

there. All the other horses, they look

OK, but I'm going to try the first time starter.

Yeah, first time starter in here.

I think it's really an interesting one.

I have that one in my in my in my handicapping as well.

Do you know what Juan Aleman translates to in English?

No, I do not. How about John German?

Hello, John German. Yeah, there you go, Lil John

German. Why not Johnny GI?

Think my favorite name of all time though is Jose Iglesias.

If you translate it to English, he was the.

Church. Couple seasons he was the

shortstop for the Detroit Tigers.

And his name meant Joseph Churches.

Yeah, I thought it was a great name.

And Joseph Churches, that's good.

Almost as good. As almost as good as Barry

Spears or Louis Rebeau or John German.

Almost so. 357 for Barry here in race 5.

You and I went very different directions here.

I went to the seven horse part of this Barry is post position.

Being on the outside in a quarter horse races can be

advantageous. Scott Willoughby, by the way,

underrated 13% kind of trainer has hit the board man in 2045.

Starts this year so far. Huge number there at Los

Alamitos. He and Laura combining on a 15%

hit rate. This is a horse dropping out of

your charity company. OK, So if people want to know,

that's how you qualify for the higher level stakes races and

different things. You run for a lower, you run for

a lower purse at first with a chance to qualify for stakes

races later on. This one drops back out of that

company. Barry, I think the class relief

is very, very advantageous for this one who I know you have in

your handicapping as well. Then I went to the 2 here in

Ming Dynasty. This is one that got to this

level last time. It was really, really good under

under Pinedo, Mike Castleman trains here.

They have started to really click.

And I just think getting to this, getting to 3, she gets to

be on LASIK. This is the third time with

LASIK. I think she's just getting to

that kind of spot 300 yards or less, man, he hits at 15

percent, 15% of maiden special weights as well.

So I think he makes sense in this spot.

Then I went to the three fun and favorite for many of the reasons

that you described. That gate work the other day is

the exact kind of thing that excuse me, even in February.

But like you said, that horse has been on the track.

That's one that's not afraid to break out of the gate quickly.

And if you're a first timer, Barry, that's always the

concern, right As if you don't get out of there, you're going

to get you're going to run into traffic.

You went to the five horse those second here, Barry, not in my

handicapping, but you went with Hassan, PP.

Yeah, Hassan, PP. So this.

I like a lot because you have a maiden trial that this horse is

dropping out of from February. I think that part makes a lot of

sense. Yeah, and that's really the

attractor. This this horse probably ran

their best race in that particular race and and we're 39

to 1 to boot. Finish second laid off since

then for a little bit comes back here very winnable spot.

I think if they continue to improve second time Lasix makes

a lot of sense. The source should be right

there. There you go all.

Right again, 357 for Barry. I'll go 7, two and three in the

first of the late pick four races there at Los Alamitos on

Saturday. Horse racing happy hour rolling

along race 6. Late pick three starts here,

Barry. One of my very favorite races if

I've got in some or very favorite bets if I got insomnia

is the late pick three on a Saturday or Sunday night there

at Los Alamitos. This is an allowance 136IN the

Kitty 3 year olds, which has never won two races.

We're going 300 yards here, Barry.

So you got to get out of the gate in this one.

Race 6 I landed on the seven again, a gate post position kind

of pick as well. Laughlin will break from the

outside maiden winner last time. Barry, I love these kinds of

horses. This is also just been a

progressive type. It's gotten better with each

race. Barely missed 2 back wins last

time. That was against older company

too, and this is just three-year old, so I get to drop back into

age appropriate company for this one.

On the outside again by Castleman Trains, he and Ariaga

have started to work together. They're now hitting it over 31%

in very recent races. To me, this is a no brainer.

Give me the seven on the outside and then I would Mercurio right

next to it. And you know what I love about

this, Barry? Little Mexican bread.

Let's go a little Mexican bread. If you're in this one comes out

of a juvenile race at Emerald Downs.

This one's been running up in Washington state before that,

though, was running in Mexico and high level races as well.

In futurities ran really well and frankly won one of them back

in May of last year. Gets to run back here in this

spot I think makes a ton of sense.

And if you look, boy, we're going to, we're doing this.

That's Corona cartel on the sire side.

So I know this. Is a Mexican.

That is a Mexican bread in big Lou, but Corona cartel man, when

you start to see those cartel words, you start to see Corona.

You're seeing royalty in West Coast quarter horse racing.

So give me the six in the second spot.

I went to the three horse in the third spot, Barry, but I know

you like that one second. We'll have you go now.

You've got the five on top though in 52 Special I.

Say right, Yeah, same trainer as the six and the Corona Cartel

line as well. But this horse has run three

really, really good races. Just missed last time back in

June. Comes off the layoff this first

time with this trainer. It's a big number there. 57%

does well with these kind of layoffs.

Everything seems to line up like this horse is going to run

really, really well. 5:00 to 1:00 seems to be a good price

here. That's why I went to the 5

instead of the six. I have the same inclination of

the six. They they're really kind of

similar. I just thought the five might be

a little bit more talented, even though they're lightly erased.

I think this horse might have been hurt a little bit and, and

just didn't get what they wanted out of this horse last summer.

But yeah, we're going with the 5-6 and the three, which you

kind of avoid talking about, but I like the.

Three of them to let you talk about just keep it going.

Who is in the three here drops out of a Derby trial where she

finished fourth or he, excuse me, finished fourth, but before

that was running in this kind of company very well, very frankly.

Yeah, didn't get a he got a clean start last time, but just

wasn't fast enough. I think this this spots a little

bit better. If they get out of the gate like

they did last time, this horse should be right there.

The speed figures kind of line up for this horse to run

competitively competitively in this spot.

So we went with the 5-6 and three five to the hoop at 5:00

to 1:00. Hopefully we get that and then a

nice pick 3 going on there. You go.

How many would you include for your pick 3?

There, Barry, I would use those three actually.

Yeah, I think they're all very live for what you're talking

about, so to make sure to include all of those Barry

Spears, Lugerbo hanging out with you late double starts in Race 7

at Los Alamitos on Saturday. SoCal Saturday's with you on the

horse Racing Happy Hour Hour presented by Amwager.

Bet all those Los Al races with Amwager.

We got another allowance in Race 7.

I love this card, Barry. 300 yards here on the Philly and

mare side. 3 and up. Number 13 races is the condition

here, Barry. So you've got some seasoned bets

in this spot. Who'd you land on Race 7?

Yeah, race seven I thought was a a pretty tough race.

Honestly, the these horses were really hard to kind of separate

and the three horse to me seemed to have a little bit of an edge

because he was lightly erased. Ran in the Ed Burke Futurity,

which was a great one in June. Didn't didn't fare so well in

that race, but every other race this horse ran and this is CHEAT

SHEET. The three was really, really

good. I mean just missed back in May

and then won the other two spots gets Lasix for the first time,

27% trainer and James Glenn and him and Ortega hook up at 42%.

So I I think this horse is well meant in this spot.

Decent price on the line at 4-5 to 1.

I think we might have one here. I really need the outside post

to be great because I keep going to an elegant train.

B will break from the 10. This is one that won an

allowance company last time and before that was running at Will

Rogers downs at high levels as well and winning there as well.

And so I'm I'm happy to see this one out West.

Eddie Willis trains Kevin Willis is is related and they they they

trade horses back and forth when they think the spot might be

better for them. Let's look at these numbers

people 34% with the claver Willis combination there at Los

Alamitos and and once in a while we just see these horses come

from the middle of the country that are just a little bit

faster than some of those California horses.

And this might just be one of those cases slated to shine will

break from the 8 Berry. This is the Figueroa Larga

Laura, excuse me combination. This one just missed, just

missed in a stake last time at the $98,000 level, third by 1/2

length. And and so I think this one

makes a ton of sense dropping back into this kind of a company

as well. I went on the five horse in the

third spot. I'll give this one a try here. 7

to 2 racy favorite for Jose Flores.

This is 1 dropping out of grade three company before that lost

by a head in a in a handicap at the 20,000 level as well at 350,

gets back to 300 yards here. I think that'll be good for racy

favorite as well. I think we'll like the shorter

distance rather than having to close into a longer distance.

So I'll go with those 3. They're very 10-8 and five.

I know you have the 8 and the 10 second and third and you're

handicapping slated to shine. Largely a class relief thing

here. Yes, absolutely.

This was pretty quick as well, very competitive in these spots.

The last race might have been their best one, even though they

were a little bit off of the lead at the finish.

If they get another good start like they did last time, I think

they're very competitive in this spot.

They really just have to kind of out quick.

The 10 who I do like as well, that horse actually had won a

couple of times from the 10 spot at Remington and we got a good

trip last time as the favorite in one.

It's just a matter to the outside.

I, I don't, I don't know how I feel about that in this race,

especially going 10 wide. I'm not sure how I feel about

that post, but the horse is fast enough to win this race.

But we're going to go to the inside with the three to try to

take it. 38 and 10 for Barry, 1085 for me in the penultimate

race tomorrow or tomorrow at Los Alamitos.

Move on to race 8. Closer on the card, of course,

is the stakes race here, the Virginia Highland 35 grand on

the line, Phillies and mares 3 and up.

This is a fun one, Barry. 350 yards for this one and we've got

horses. Look. 15 lifetime starts

1920172740 starts 18 starts 17 starts, eleven starts.

It is a stakes race buddy. This is this is old.

You know these are these. Are war horses.

Phillies and mares that have been going at it for a long

time. I'll let you, you know.

No, never mind. I'm going first here, believe

Do it inside horse here is fairly flying.

elementary school somewhere in Georgia right now, you'd meet a

And frankly, when she gets an outside post, she simply doesn't

miss. I think she probably gets it

done tomorrow night, but man, I'd be looking.

I'd be spreading as much as you can afford in this because I

think they're a bunch that have just been missing Barry at lower

levels that I think can really jump up here.

Tarafina will break from the four.

I think she's interesting for Valentin.

Zamudio comes out of a Grade 3, gets to drop, you know, into

slightly lesser company here, but not too much.

Was in that Derby, by the way, at Indiana.

I got to see this one in the Cunningham barn really close

last out at Indiana before moving West and has really taken

to the track well there. So Tarafina I think is

absolutely part of the equation. Then I went to the 7th.

That is CCR political rap from that.

Literally daughter of a political Jess, an Oregon bred

of all things. And so comes in here out of a a

near miss in an allowance. Tried the SoCal Derby last year,

but we're second off the layoff here.

I want everyone to look at Hector Megayanes numbers between

3:30 and 390 yards, Barry. Buckets. 30% and he's been at 5

stakes races in his career. He's won two of them and you're

giving me 12:50. Right, that's why I got him on

top. OK, well I was going to say to

the hope for Barry Spears. Yeah, absolutely.

You just made my case for me. All those things line up.

This horse Speaking of 1760 ran a 1760 in the mud back in

September going away and I think this horse is just very well met

in this spot, especially after that first run in the allowance

at LaSalle. I think this source with the,

you know, slight cut back, they've been running at 400 for

a while now. They cut back to 350.

I think this force is is is going to be moving early and

hopefully they can outlast the big chalk here.

But we'll see. But I also like the duck.

Yeah, sweet duck. How sweet is it, Barry?

It's pretty sweet. This horse is 27, 27 lifetime

starts, nine wins. That's pretty good.

And this horse runs fast pretty much every time.

Was over their head in a couple of graded stakes last year last

summer, but beyond that has been real stellar and I think they're

going to be right there again, hopefully not on top because I

want the seven at a big price 7. CCR political rap, making our

top threes for sure. I talked about the one horse,

Barry. Obviously I've got that one on

top. I assume you agree with many of

the points that I made, but how much of that is getting?

The inside rail, I just don't like the rail ever, honestly.

And you know, there's certain situations where I will pick a

horse like that, but I just don't.

There's too many things that can go wrong, even even with the

thoroughbreds. But the source is fast.

If they get a clean break, they're definitely going to be

in the mix all. Right.

Well, my, my, I'm going to put up my tickets because Barry

Spears was too lazy to put one up.

But here's my early pick for for Saturday at Los Alamitos.

Barry, I think you can go. I think you'll agree with this.

Easier to go skinny in the early part of the card than it is late

in the card. Is that?

Fair to yes, absolutely. Those last two races are are

dues. Quarter horde sprints are

legitimately difficult to handicap, especially with those

fields because that that allowance is salty, man.

And on three lifer is is salty. And then you get that, you get

that steak at the end. Super salty as well.

But in the early part, I'm going to single in that first race,

Barry, I'll go 3 wide, 2 wide, 2 wide early.

Try to play a $12.00 ticket there.

Reminder if you've never played Los Al, $1.00 minimum

essentially on all bets so you can play something.

I do like Barry. If you're a small time player,

like you've got 20 bucks at the end of the day, you can go a

dollar across the board on a horse in every race.

That's pretty cool. And just whatever have.

Action, just kicking it right, just yeah, just.

Have action, right? And like, look, I know we're not

dollar betters, but if you're just a guy who's got 20 bucks at

the end of the night and you know, you put a baby down to

sleep or something, you know, whatever, you just try to pass

the time, bro. There's nothing wrong with a

little wood play show bet there at Los Alamitos.

Late pick 436 bucks, so three times the cost of my earlier

ticket. But to also be fair to me, field

sizes really do expand in the later part of the card.

I would say, Barry, the part that I'm going to get most

aggressive in is actually the second leg of this.

So in Race 6, I'm going to try just the seven and the six here.

And that's tossing. Just keep it going the the 2 to

one favorite and it's tossing 52 special who you also like.

And that's Hector Magayanes, who I'm trusting with Mercurio, but

not with 52 special. So I'll get aggressive in that

race, much to the chagrin of Barry Spears.

And then 8 and 10 in the third leg.

I'll try 1, four and seven in the hoop and the and the, excuse

me, the the closer. And hopefully you and I both go

to the hoop with the seven. There you go, all day, all day.

Cash it 2 * 7. 7 May be worth enough money that we can

actually like each other at the end of the day.
