Full Transcript

Where's my music? Not playing.

All right. Welcome to a very st.

Patrick's Day version of the horse-racing happy hour.

I'm like, and all faux and I'm joined by Meghan.

Oh Divine, Louis microphone. Look remotely.

And we got a special guest and Hillman from a drf.

Dan, how are you doing? Dance, its element That is

fantastic. So Megan is the only person who

the regular co-host. We're not going to pick on Dan

too much. Megan's only one who forgot to

say Pakistan. She's an all black because he's

going to Jewish funeral I guess I don't know what you mean.

Yeah. I mean I wrote and then we like,

put up, half a barn and that's been pretty much for my day and

then I was like oh yeah go goats the goats had Hot yet.

I just I look at you put up a barn and I hired a guy to do

would work at my house instead. Well, we got a quote for it and

they were like, yeah, I mean we could do that for you for like

30 Grand in the would cost like $1500 or like, not what?

But nobody died. So I feel like we're doing but

so far so husband and I doing that, like, I liked him and I

mean, mostly yes. Who builds a whole like platform

for you to get married on. Like, Yeah yeah yeah II knew

that I married well when he made like homemade crab cakes and

scallops the other day and makes a very good vodka sauce for

somebody that's not Italian at all so I don't know.

I feel purse isn't a time? No way.

Yeah so today like seriously I mean it's Saint Patrick's day so

I'm sure there's a lot of people been doing day drinking.

It was the NCAA tournament real kick off.

So a lot of people daydreaming for that too.

So hopefully you've been continuing your drinking

pleasure and you joined us on the horse race and happy hour,

and you're enjoying st. Patrick's Day we're going to

talk horses and, you know, and we got other things to talk

about to. I'm sure.

Like like I don't know if you guys noticed, I got a little

Booboo, what'd you do? So the people will kind of know

if you're if you're on Spotify, you See the video.

So make sure you tune in tune in on Spotify, watch the video but

for that. Yeah I was I was I was walking

to my car, distract it texting and there was a there was a work

truck in the parking lot and you know, I saw the truck I was

gonna clear the truck but I didn't see that the big planks

of wood sticking out of the back that were anchored to the truck.

And I caught that right in the head.

That's a, that is both an All and moving story, very proud of

you right now, for running into wood with your face texting,

while walking but yeah Raph attack, you're one of those.

I'm analysis when you've got something hanging off the back

of your truck like that you're supposed to have like a big red

flag that I don't know if I would have seen, I don't know,

it just is not know what mattered and and then also

making we're awful awful friends.

We're all friends. What do you like?

Is it like, it's like it's got dry ice in there.

What are you doing? It's by the way, I'll get to

that to you in a little bit but we're terrible friends because I

mean, I got any excuses, got hit in the head with a board but we

forgot we forgot Louise birthday.

Mega tell the story, tell the story called me, And he was

like, well, it's my birthday today.

So, I I just wanted to call and tell you that you're just a

really great friend to me. And I just, I felt like I should

call people that Ned's makes me and tell them even get a phone

call. And I supposed to call you, I

don't know. Sweetest and like, the meanest,

well done guilt trip. And I was like, I think the, the

reality of it is big and it's like people don't understand

what Louis does for us on our birthdays.

Like, like, he always remembers our birthdays, it's man felt

this big because this is where watching Derby this year, so I

guess you guys will be celebrating with me.

Okay, that sounds good. We'll be there we were Watching

basketball games together, smoking, cigars and day

drinking, and watching basketball and you know,

enjoying the work day doing some business networking and and and

my sister walks in and he's like, hey Louis happy late

birthday. That's your sister twice.

You once a year at most. Oh my gosh, it was great, but I

don't want to bring all right. Go ahead.

Sorry. Dan, we have something like

15,000 people on the subscription list that don't

that aren't on Twitter. So like I apologize your product

gonna get a huge Twitter bump, but I have to say those things.

I love he is the the Mid-Atlantic and Marilee

correspondent for the drf. Did you mention, I have two

things. I want to pick.

Bone, help you, you mentioned a DVD in your Twitter bio Shahid.

Be mentioning DVDs in 2022, when it's already a back.

There it is. JD was here.

Then we would have all these little graphics and stuff.

How about that? Yeah.

Yeah, we don't do well without him good to help users.

The other thing is, has anyone ever told you your last name is

the perfect like Suburban kid rap name.

Well I'm G, I'm DJ ill man. Well wasn't there a Hebe illin?

Yeah, that's true. Horse racing.

Probably like a lot of folks through my parents my father and

great-uncle especially they were on the different spectrum of

handicappers and that my father is just the worst losing better.

That has ever lived. The guy will names and huh.

She's been all kinds of wacky systems and just it our show and

my great uncle, who is studious and really enjoyed the game and

taught me how to read the past performances, but in a sign of

great parenting, you know, they would take me to the off-track

betting parlors, you know that we had those back in the day

then you could smoke inside a New York city.

So it was wonderful to take a four-year-old kid into one of

those places. They would argue that since the

smoke Rose and I wasn't very tall, I was out of danger, but

believe me, it is important to a New York City of Off Track

Betting parlor in the 1930 1980s as dangerous.

They would have me stoop down for tickets.

I mean really was a degenerate upbringing.

Oh my God. But the first time ever went to

Belmont Park, I remember a you know, City could go into

Belmont. I remember going up the

escalator and looking out over the track and just being knocked

away blown away. I must have been six or seven

years old and I realize I really want to do something with this

was like a playground for horses and colorful people actually

went to the track back. Then you had After you had the

action, I was hooked. Nice.

Awesome, finally, got a real New Yorker on the show to, which is,

um, listen. I'm from Long Island.

I Just, he said, he's from the city.

That's my mom was born and raised in Manhattan, but I am a

strong island. All right, let's, let's, let's

take a real quick straw poll, quick, do you think he's a

Yankees or Mets fan? I'm going to go Yankees.

I'm going to go Mets the Mets fan.

I'm a Yankee fan. Yeah.

Well it's better than what my baseball team.

During which is just a sign that they wanted to compete for the

single a championship, and that's it.

So, the reds are that they, it is like a fire sale and it is,

it's so I like I'm already depressed about baseball and

they haven't even had their first drinking game, so, and I

look forward to baseball and man, it's bad.

All right, well, let's, let's, let's talk a little bit about

what we saw with casual Causeway almost ajahn chah's way classic

Causeway. Sorry, the causeway.

I'm seriously. It was like I couldn't get it.

Giant Causeway out of my freaking train.

So classic Causeway in the Tampa Bay Derby, one pretty easily.

Casual Causeway is a better horse named to be fair to you,

renaming it. So also, for the history of the

show, we need to look from now, on call him, casual called my.

If you win, we could do that. That will be his name travel

Causeway. Sure.

Yeah, that's great. Yeah.

Is there a way we could get like the people at Churchill Downs?

Actually, put casual Causeway up.

Yeah, just go like Scribble. It is, by the way, if if they

weren't listening a couple weeks ago when they took down the

Medina Spirit sign, I would still like that.

For my basement bar. If anyone at Churchill is

listening, I would definitely take that for my basement.

I appreciate it. I bet you if your people that

might want to go on. Yeah.

All right. So let's Go back classic

Causeway, easy win. The Tampa Bay Derby.

Is he legit? Let's go there.

She is. He legit Derby Contender to win

this thing. I don't think he's in my top

five right now but he hasn't. He also hasn't done a thing

wrong. I don't know that you have to

overcome your horse when he's that much better than the field

that he's in either. And so I'm not sure that the

road through Tampa Bay has been especially strong this year on

the on the cold side. And so for any, I don't want to

ding the horse. Into the road team, that's also

a drink year old and you would think it would have not be

mentioned very often, you know, been around for a while but no

every week disagree here. And lastly, two months ago, you

settle down the no, no, literally.

So I don't know that you can knock horses for winning.

Easily. But I also don't think that his

I don't think he's fast enough to win the Derby, I'll put it

that way. Okay, I'm going to preface this

by saying not to be rude and and when I prefaced it to be not you

know what, why do people say not to be rude?

Because we never know the next time you're in New York or so

you don't have to make that disclaimer.

Who is this one? And two races.

I mean he faced one good horse last year smile.

Happy in the Kentucky Jockey Club.

You got beer and fine and Lewis you're absolutely right.

He's done nothing. Wrong in his career.

He's also yet to run back to his fastest race which was his debut

going seven, furlongs in Saratoga and if you can run

against ships ational a nice New York.

Read every time boy, casual Causeway then would win the

Kentucky. Yeah.

Well, I mean that's my that's my biggest.

You know, the Bluegrass is a terrible path of the Derby.

So it's like, you know, it's not, it's not gonna tell us

anything and I don't, you know, this is a horse that if I can

wake. If I'm looking between him and

epicenter I'm probably more towards epicenter way more.

Right? I am, if you're going to have a

year and you've got workers like, you know, whole winning

the rebel. Great.

And we've got a couple of horses that you know still question

mark. Morello winning the Gotham

again. Hey, unless you're a secret oath

fan right now, anybody can win this time.

Yeah. No that's true.

It does seem to be at this point at least wide open because then

you've got a horse like why to bury.

Oh, you know, one they're down in Florida to.

And so it just seems at this point.

There's really not a clear-cut besides, if you're a Forbidden

Kingdom fan, you know, out in California.

That's the one, they're like, okay, Derby favorite.

And then we go from there, but I agree with you.

I think it seems like this could Be a very interesting year,

should baffert not have any horses in the derby.

The other big news from the week is something that I think

probably probably made Louis happy.

But we're going to talk about right now, actually, is the

Arlington million day is going to be run at Churchill Downs,

but when that was announced, it created this kind of frenzy

because Churchill didn't race in August.

So Ellis runs in August and now it's like here comes the big bad

track taken dates away from the little guy again and it.

I don't know if Interesting, I just don't know if whether the

way Brown Brian's right now, saying we need to go shirtless

again Louis. So, I don't know.

I mean, what were your thoughts first week?

And, you know, I guess you're happy.

That church was going to take their own 2 million on but you

know, else is near and dear to the show.

For sure. The Pea Patch is a is a friend

of the show. Let's just go that way Louis.

I think a little bit more of the arrangement needs to be sort of

sorted out in that Ellis actually is technically hosting

the betting side of everything and that the races Being run at

Churchill Downs. So it's not as though, Ellis is

missing out on that, that, that hosting the gambling side of

things. At least it is realistic to say

that they probably couldn't handle this kind of day with the

facility. They have an Ellis, that's a

reasonable thing to say, that's not a knock on Ellis and what

they're doing. They're lots of good horses have

come out of Ellis especially made with right level another

horses. It's nothing like that.

It's just that the facility there doesn't lend to a day like

this like Arlington did or like Churchill Downs.

Obviously. And so I think that's important.

I like brought this up because I was a longtime devotee of going

up to Chicago for the Arlington million, love that day of

racing, just a terrific card and horses in from all over the

place that the quality was super high level.

I went this year for the last one and it was Just, that

facility is so spectacular. So hard to say goodbye to a

place like that. And so I will, I will surprise

people a little here and say I'm actually happy they're doing

this because too often these tracks go away and these days go

away. It's like the Hollywood Gold

Cup. They still run it but they don't

run that that card anymore, right.

Those sorts of things. Hollywood Park goes wake up for

Nia. They run the Hollywood Gold Cup

at Santa Anita. It's not the same thing.

They don't run. All of those cards, I'm happy to

see that they're picking up those steaks and moving them to

Churchill. Even if And I think anyone can

have whatever opinion they want on how Churchill ran Arlington.

I happen to think that it was a third, Churchill, a third, the

economics up there in a third, the state just having stupid

gambling, please. And so that's kind of where I

fall on that and so I'm just happy, we're keeping those

races. Keeping those purses because I

just want to see the best courses compete against each

other. Yeah, I mean I think it's you

know yes technically there They are but they're not being the

days away from Ellis because Ellis, you know, raises pass

that. So they're just kind of

diverting to a different facility for those days but I

think it's it's a benefit for them.

Certainly they like I said, since they're kind of handling

the wedding side of it and whatever that they're going to

reap the reward of being really the Catalyst for making that

situation possible. But also you know keep in mind

that and I don't know how long this is going to go on for

whatever. But for a couple of years now, I

think before the pandemic or just after the pandemic Ellis

was it was like an 11 million dollar renovation or something

that was approved. So, you know, they're very much

on the up-and-up as far as purses are concerned as far as

knowing that they need to renovate their facility.

Their track, their whatever track is the service is great,

for especially for Young Horses, I will say that.

But I think it's maybe this is Thing that in the future you

know those races just have a new home and obviously none of those

Renovations big Renovations have happened now.

So this is something that we would see in a couple of years

but I don't know, I think it's it's good for Kentucky racing.

It's good for this circuit here. And it's like, you said, it's

good to those big races. Don't go away that we still

will. Hopefully see some really really

talented horses and went in for me.

I love it because it's just down the road.

So, I don't know. Selfishly, I want you did.

I think it's a big move for Ellis.

I mean it's exciting because Cuz they have steadily much like

Kentucky Downs. Honestly, I mean a couple years

ago, Kentucky down for horses that ran there, nobody would go,

nobody would bring the horses. And anything Ellis is very and

Indiana. Grand is another one, right?

Like the racing has gotten significantly better as we've

got on and I just I see that pass for Ellis and I think this

is a really, really big thing for them.

You're absolutely right. That Ellis is very underrated

and it's unfortunate that gets lost in the shuffle in the

summertime because it Del Mar and Saratoga.

But you drank quality horses. Good Tour forces.

Good two-year-olds. It's a place where you've got a

lot of excellent, Horsemen prepping horses for the fall

there. So yeah, keep an eye on.

It's also pretty better friendly.

I can't be sad about good races being retained especially races

with the history of the Arlington million having it run

at Churchill Downs. Will Churchill Downs has the

responsibility to do something right after closing.

Arlington does it really hurt Ellis financially?

I'm not sure and it might give the day-to-day Horsemen a break

if they have one day or two days ago to Churchill Downs.

You're able to fill out some more cards.

Yeah, for sure. All right.

Well we got one more little note on this segment that we got

mentioned because Louis and I got this text I was in my

kitchen like I know exactly where I was.

We got this text from Megan and this is a good thing to put up

because I think you know just to show how much people in this

industry loved horses in general, Megan was ready to like

throw down a good chunk of change to buy this horse in

Texas so that it wouldn't Have gone shipped across the border

to Mexico and been and put down. So I need an update.

Megan what happened you? And by the way, if you want to

elaborate on the story at all, you can.

But what was the latest on that? Yeah, so I and it's it's hard to

because I am not even necessarily against Slaughter.

And people might attack me for saying that because I would

rather that ending for a horse than them starved somewhere,

right? Just slowly Decay and there's a

lot of, you know, and it's not even necessarily thoroughbreds

that are the worst of it. I mean, if you look at those

auctions where they have the kill pens, it's a lot of like,

you know, backyard paint for Is recorded words, those are

Mustangs or whatever like it's a mixed.

And I would say it's probably less Thoroughbred Senate as

others. But, but yeah, I happened upon

belong to some of these groups of, you know, thoroughbreds in

kill bed, bugs, eating help, whatever.

And I saw this guy, and he just looked older and a lot of these

rescues and rescues out there that are quotes ready of are not

video listeners. But but, You know, they'd take

these horses that have like, big names or they win stakes races,

or they were in stakes races where the ran on the Kentucky

Derby or there 5 to 10 years old, or something like that.

And this guy was just playing, he had a sweet face and he's 16

and he was starving and sick and he had one race, hello Sal.

And like a bad maiden claimer and did nothing.

And then I don't know where he's been in his life but but I felt

bad for him. And so I paid his bail and he

shipped up here to Kentucky and he That my farm and I honestly

didn't tell you buddy about it for about a week or so.

Because I mean I wasn't, I wasn't sure he was going to make

it. Oh no, it's very thin.

Yeah, yeah, no. I mean, the picture is even I

had joked about it, if one can one has to write with friends

and I was like, I think the camera adds like 200 pounds.

It's like, this is a lot worse than it appears on the pictures,

but yeah, no, he's alive that that came to to check them out

and he gave him your red as blood.

Work and did all that and I've been feeding them and he's

getting a little fat. He's going to get his feet, done

at his teeth done and hopefully he'll be.

He's just a kind soul and I just just seems like he needed help.

So I have them and I have the ability.

Luckily, my husband, I have a farm here just outside of

Louisville and so we've got a menagerie of animals and like

I've said before in previous shows, I've lost control at this

point because it's no, they're not dirty bag but it's you know,

it's my way. And I do try to contribute

worked a lot with Karma. The In California for retiring

resources and retired race horses.

And I have we instead of giving gifts away at our wedding, my

husband and I donated to the Thoroughbred Aftercare

Association for every person that came and so it's an

industry that we both make our living from.

I love horses, he loves horses, we have horses, we tried and,

you know, it was my kind of direct way of giving back to at

least one. Also, you, you've named your

other horses after bourbon. Ya know, this Bobby.

Beast a Bobby? Or does he become like Bobby

bourbon or like, how does that work?

But those burdens to get a bobbin and weavin.

So that's why I stuck with Bobby.

And I have just have been calling in that because again, I

wasn't sure if he was gonna stay, so I think he will maybe

eventually earn himself a bourbon name of Cardinal Creek,

Farms are these dresses that live at your place.

Being nice to Bobby know that. He's so he's actually In

isolation, across this field at our neighbor's house, okay.

Got it is our field because he had to quarantine in case he did

have anything for, at least 14 to 30 days.

So, these, I just drive up the little driveway, and give him

some food, take care of him, but yeah, but he's doing well.

So, very happy to like, I should just start myself a risk, you

know, I started to Curtis Well then you know when we first got

married, they said before you all have kids they said get a

dog and then get a second dog. And so you just kind of took

that to the next level and then you've actually given birth to a

couple animals, you know, and you've had a good success rate.

So if we say that you gave birth to animals, I don't know again,

lost control and so yeah, Great too.

Because just in our personalized, like we got

together and got engaged and were renovating a house and plan

our wedding and like taking care of all these animals.

So I figured we were just like, just test it.

Let's see how far we can go, and if we're going to kill each

other like better than no. Now, right, that's right.

All right before, Dan wants to get off the show.

Let's actually talk about some horse racing.

Let's go to Laurel Park. And Dan is gonna give us some

great insights because he knows Laurel inside and out.

So we're going to start with race for, and this starts to

pick for. It is the Conover Stakes Conover

was the 1948 older dirt female horse the year, if I remember

correctly. And it's a 74, a long race.

On the dirt for Phillies marriage for years and old up,

let's let our guests go first. And what do you think about the

converse takes? Well, unfortunately, the kind of

became a kind of light, and that's why it's really in this

card. It looks like there are two main

contenders in this race feeds us free, and kiss the girl because

the girl is just a really consistent.

Horses. And she, I mean, she's 2 for 2

at 7 for a long. She's been campaigning around to

turns recently and you should watch your last phrase.

She was really Brave. She overcame a lot of trouble.

She was checked in between horses at the top of the stretch

found to seem shot on through and it was all over.

But the shouting, she's dangerous in this race turning

back to 7. But if you believe Pace makes

the race, if filled the Spree gets out of the gate, and that's

a big if because you have to watch her race to starts back,

usually when you look at running lines and you see horses, run,

7, B, 8 lengths. You're not impressed.

Watch that. That race because she must have

missed the break by 10 and then had to rush up along the inside,

and then she was actually in contention.

So that wasn't a bad race at all.

In terms of finding the fruit you last time out.

Those are the two big names in this race.

It'll be interesting to see how they bet it.

I really wish for you just really didn't running the

fritsche because I would be all over her off the trip in the

water somewhere with the bad running line, Kiss the Girls

consistent, I guess I give her a slight Edge because the girl

course won this race last time last year.

So Megan, I Be there with Dan. The only thing other words I was

going to mention was the to Artful.

Splatter procuring McGee, who obviously has an incredible

percentage out there. And this war seems to love

Laurel as far as the distance, you know, I don't love the ophir

to. So there's a question mark there

for me but it certainly seems like she is a horse that you

know, she's relatively consistent at least in her

running South is finished a couple of very good s recently.

She's been in the stakes races, she has a good workout coming.

To this and Kieran winds at 17% with moving horses from a route

to a Sprint? I don't know.

I think you would you include possibly if you, especially

since this looks like, it could be a pretty chalky field because

like Dan said, it came up pretty short.

So you're looking at a 75 and a 9 to 5, and, um, my mouth is

watering at the three, two, one just to hope to get a little bit

of cash to build that big girl, mr.

Robbo just so, everyone knows, I wore my justify.

Preakness had today, I saw from the 2018 Preakness and honor of

a Maryland show when wife or kids You go ahead.

They everyone in town thinks I'm wearing a, you K hat today

because it's right. That's all right, the actually

Dan and I leaned on the same horses dad.

I always hated cap these races before.

The morning lines, come out and then they come out and go.

Oh, damn it 75 not good. And that's right.

Exactly yeah. Frankly read well, that was a

three-year hate. It was a three-horse, kind of

blanket finished there. Anyway, Jakarta was in that race

glass ceiling was in that race. That's a couple nice Phillies.

There's doodly couple days mayor's there and so Hasn't done

a ton wrong, totally agree about the five kiss, the girl,

probably look at my notes, what our last to both the listed

Stakes longer distances, but won three of the last five, she's at

the board and all of them just in a great vein of form right

now. Expected to be part of the

equation if not win it. So yeah, I'm 3 and 5 in the the

cover. All right we're going to move on

for to the not too low stakes, and not for love, sorry.

But for loves takes six. Furlongs on the dirt, four year,

olds and up. Our purse and Dan.

Who do you like here? I love.

This is a pretty wide open race and I think there are some nice

sprinters in here, you know? Brittany, Russell is going to be

out in Dubai next week with wonder where Craig is nice deep

bench when you can go right to a horse the caliber of where she

told me to go. We just seems to fire every

single time off a layoff but I'm looking at are token in this

race and are token didn't fire in the General George last time

out. But the way I'm looking at him

is does not run well. Well, without laces, you look at

this crew starts with Lasix, the Charlestown classic, he runs

last and okay was overmatched in that race and then the General

George Reeves three-to-one against the Region's best

handicapped or scored maker. He just doesn't fire.

His prior race was really good. Six furlongs is also his best

distance. So he's getting Lasix and he's

cutting back from 7 to 6 and then that race to starts back.

I know he was on saint, but he caught a very sharp horse named

Barack show that they over a speed favoring track.

He ran right by borracho, who On the Lee brought Joe came back to

win two in a row. This horse is going to I think

fall a little bit under the radar from a wagering

standpoint. So I'm going to take a little

bit of a shot with him. You might want to spread with a

couple of others. I mean, youngest of five ran

really well against wonder where Craig is last time out.

And, you know, he probably is actually getting a little bit of

a class drop here. Meghan.

Yeah. No, I agree with Dan.

The other words, I would mention though is Jackson traveler for

Steve, as we said, I mean, last time I'm lucky, real was

disappointing to say the least but beaten by eleven.

He didn't have a great start, but if you throw that race out,

I mean this is a horse that actually runs pretty well

wherever you put them on whatever you put them.

I mean by that Synthetic Turf door, Laurel Aqueduct, you know,

Mona Valley. I don't even know that he's had

two consecutive races that one track since like early 2021.

So I like the fact that he is right there has been right

there. You know, he obviously his last

win was in a Maryland bread Stakes race.

So yes, he has been right there. No, he has not been winning, but

I think he's interested to see how he bounces back from that,

because just because I thought that race was was so

questionably bad for him that I don't expect that same kind of

an effort. I expect them to bounce back and

be much better here. And and certainly this distance

is well, within his wheelhouse and likes Laurel.

He's 2 for 3 here and The yeah, I don't know.

I think he's certainly under include.

I'd love to know, dance thoughts because a cool note about this

race actually, it's named for not for love his own son.

Is the one big engine who's running in this race?

That's actually a pretty cool. Yeah, that is cool thing.

That's happening. He's actually shipping in off a

win from Aqueduct and if he gets applica made it to the surface

and breaks well enough, he can get that stocking trip.

He likes off of multiple speed horses in this race.

I don't love that rail draw for him, but I do think, you know,

with Jaime Guess who's winning 2 solid 90% at Laurel to get the

kind of trip that he actually does.

Need agree with Dan, the three where she told me to go, does

nothing but run in listed company and essentially, what's

half of those races, right? Brittany Russell doing a nice

job, more and more. Teaming up with heavy on Toledo

31% at Laurel at 33%. Recently, really terrific combo.

I think that that $5000 stud fee, they paid for him.

That's turned out to be three quarters of a million dollars on

that horse. Probably a good investment.

Yeah. I also think you take those two

or you punch more of an all in this kind of race, I agree,

Jackson traveler, the seven is talented, kind of hard to see

how he's lived up to the hype. I remember Dan was there too.

I'm sure before the chick laying a couple years ago on Preakness

day, everyone was ready. This is the coronation.

He's gonna win the 64, a long race going to do.

Yeah, that's a really disappointing second that day.

I've kind of been turned off by the horse since then, but I

agree. The six are token.

Is one of his friend at this level and the five youngest of

five, which oh, by the way, is not my horse.

Stop. I have for Chloe has 27.

Yes, but he speaks more languages than he has.

Kids actually youngest of five has run in some Superfast prints

and is peppered. The board.

I wouldn't one 3657. So I'm with Dan.

If you're going to spread the blame you, there's my people.

Like you are you the youngest of five?

How many brothers and sisters? Do you have by the middle of

303? Okay, my dad is the The second

youngest of six and his dad of mine.

And so we're going to move. I like you're going, we're gonna

go on to the Harrison E, Johnson Memorial Stakes named after the,

the black trainer Harrison Johnson, who tragically died at

the age of 45 and a plane crash. And yeah, that was in 1985.

So that's this is the Harrison E Johnson Memorial and Who do we

like here? Dan boy, I was looking for a

price in this race but no looks exactly like the John be

Campbell from last month and that's depressing goal.

Aereo is just, you gotta love horses like this, who just show

up every single time, he's young 10 of 33.

He's been in the exact of 25 of 33.

And he just wants to beat you when you watch him, run.

And that was the case. Last time out in the Campbell.

He got a great trip in that race two horses were battling for the

lead. And he sat third.

Now, he moved a little early JD Acosta.

Moved little bit early and maybe when I was talking to John

Salzman earlier today, he says glare is a tendency to wait on

horses, you really likes to fight.

So once he made the lead, I think he was waiting and he

almost got run down at the End by forewarn but he dug in at the

end that 102 buyer, I have to be honest, you I'm questioning it

because if you look at all the horses coming out of the

Campbell, it seems like they all ran cold, that's fires and that

just doesn't seem right to me. That being said, Mario, just

with this, tactical speed facing the to same speed horses that

he's in, was in against last time, looks like the horse to

be. I do think if anyone's going to

beat him. It's because one of these feed

horses just decides to die. I don't want another duel and

I'm going to sit and maybe gentleman Joel take advantage.

Yeah. Because good course was the

horse that won the duel last time out and then immediately

after putting away the pace Setter was the favorite working

on a dream? He was immediately set upon by

glarry. Oh, there was no breathers for

Resource whatsoever. And he hung in there pretty well

until about the last sixteenth of a mile.

So turning back to a mi good for him.

I just think alario probably gets it done.

I think it's an uninteresting betting race but if you want to

take a flyer I'd give gentlemen Jolla.

Yeah Meghan. I was gonna say I agree with

that gentleman. Do I think is gonna be the worst

that I try to use in here because you know like Dan had

mentioned last time I was actually a pretty good run for

him with all that he had to deal with.

So the fact that he finished third and I would even argue to

say that he's a bit. More consistent than glarry 0.

Because if you look back and Laura when they ran them on the

turf there, you didn't really run anything, he finished

seventh, you know, up the track, whatever.

And I don't know, he's just become hold your horses 20:21

later part of the year and they have kept him here at Laurel, so

I don't know if you just loves this track, but the fact that

he's won already at the one, turn my life because in

handicapping this I was looking at the distances and say, well,

you know, maybe he needs that extra distance, he seems to do

well, Over the mile and an eighth, but I actually think

that he's gonna be just fine here and he has been pretty

consistent at least, you know, in the last.

What can we say? Six months, nine months,

something like that. So I think that he's definitely

a worthy horse to use their. And, even, even the third place

ever done the multitrack, which he made up a ton of ground that

wasn't his preferred running style.

He was 7th four legs off the pace and whatever.

That's not where this horse wants to be and if you look back

at some of his races where they didn't let him run towards the

front at Delaware at them go. When the horse was taken off the

pace or, you know, didn't make the break or whatever it was, he

just was nowhere. So in a way, he is kind of

vulnerable because he's maybe a need the lead type.

But I would say that he actually kind of airs on the side of

consistency because he has been able to get his race and funny,

didn't it was on Turf, so I'm willing to kind of throw that

one out there and draw a line through it.

And hope that, you know, again like damn said, you couldn't,

you can kind of look for a little bit of a price, maybe

that's your excuses. All right.

Louie. What you got agree with Dan to

the to Glorioso, the class here, cutting back to one, turn coming

out of a to turn win it. Elects to 6 at Laura last month

runs a stocking style and easily and luckily the early speed here

is going to be the for whiskey and you and the five working on

a dream, they're going to do their best to get out front and

stay out front. So look for gentleman Joe, like

everyone's mentioned to be right alongside glory and that's

talking position, whoever's the best down the stretch wins for

me. So I'm 21 in the in the Johnson.

All right we're going to move on to rayce 9 which is the Beyond

The Wire stakes and Even though JD is not here to produce the

show, he still had a producer stick and I actually think that,

you know, we don't let him actually show his face on the he

only hear him on the show. This was his only way to make

sure that he did that scene. He had to go down to cobbles

everyone playing a violin for him being.

Yes. All right.

So let's let's pull, let's pull JD up here and see what he's got

to say. And there's no sound volume, I

don't know sound whatsoever. And you know what?

Sorry Judy, yeah, yeah, I never did that on TV.

I was like, nope, steps are literally played that, like that

kind of criticism but you could have just dumped it.

You could have just right. I could have well, I mean and I

tested it out the earlier, just make sure that it worked and it

worked. Okay.

Um, so I do Exactly what happened there, but JD is, I'm

not going to sit here and try to troubleshoot.

Yes, exactly, producer. Write it out late.

I have a feeling though. He knows what he was going to

say. So I'll hold off on that but I'd

really like, can I introduce this raisuddin?

Sure. Okay.

So this is the be on the wire Stakes is this kind of a

black-eyed. Susan preview.

Are we getting into that jtpharr JD's.

Actually doing this right now. By the way, you're tuning in,

you could have been here actually shows that you need a

producer. No, that's right.

Yeah, that's absolutely true. The beyond the word isn't a

black-eyed. Susan Pratt for the black-eyed.

Susans kind of gone down in recent years because of the

close proximity of the Kentucky Oaks I'm going to say no because

even though I think Luna Bell is right now by far the best three

year old Filly in Maryland. I wonder if she's going to pan

out more as a late running, one turn horse.

And I'm not sure if he's going to want to stretch out and race

like the black-eyed, Susan. And these other horses are kind

of lightly raced in great unknowns sources, like candy

light. And Ayman collector but again

unfortunately you know from abetting standpoint, it's hard

to say. Boy I want to bet a lot against

Luna bail in this race. If you want to stay, I don't

like to pay set up for her. She's a one run closer.

You're catching a field with no Pace other than maybe Diamond

collector. Well, then I can see you taking

a shot. You watch Luna bows last race in

the white country. If you didn't believe in her

before, then you believe in her now because she didn't break

rate from the railed, she steadied it in behind horses on

the backstretch, she is. With a lot to do turning into

the stretch and Dennis araujo gets her to the far outside and

she Sprint's home and, you know, usually don't see that from a

non graded Stakes horse, she ran big that day, we'll see if she

wants to go a mile. It's a long stretch of the Mi.

It's a completely different ball game than a seven for a long

race at Laurel, but I just think she Towers over this field.

I talked to Carlos Martinez, a all the New York trainers.

I talked to this week, Carlos with diamond collector, Rudy

with big engine. You know, they want to stay.

They want to stay in New York, they were perfectly happy.

Running allowance Races. They are optional claimers there

but you're not like them. So here they are.

He has a lot of confidence in Diamond collector.

Carlos, he ran into two steaks sources in his first two races.

Last timeout tracks to him seemed kind of slow, he's

questioning that buyer speed figure.

We think it might be a little bit light and he just looks like

the main speed in this race. Yeah, we all know that Mom would

Mama G's wish is going to win this race but go ahead, you

know. Well I was gonna say Mike

actually is too You know to Tribute to Dan's family.

The meme hunch play. Here is obviously read one time

so at 32 1, that's your show man.

If nothing else. I mean you get a much better

price. We did with the whores one

person out favored was trained by Britney Russell.

So now that I say that the worst is obviously gonna win and I'm

not going to bet it to be fair, the trainer wind's at 18 percent

and first off the Clay wins at 41%.

So first isn't technically done anything wrong.

This is a Three big step up. Yeah.

Coming from, you know, can we say bottom of the barrel

claimers was? Yeah, exactly comments on

diamond collector who I agree with you.

I think that's certainly the horse to look at and, you know,

the numbers it seems like the first has been on a steady

improve just as far as maybe not the buyer speakers because she

started out with the 79-68 65. Some That's gone down.

But I feel like a lot of the times I look for horses in the

way that they're running and the the mental maturity and just

their understanding of the game. And I feel like that's what

we've gotten from her and her results have shown that.

So I feel like she's a very nicely developing Philly and

obviously step up to a Stakes race right after your when

you're made and that's always tough to do also but she

certainly include for me. I thought about I don't know

what to make of the grand motion horse.

Be honest with you but then the was it that was it the Joe or

seen a horse that I somebody else.

I my notes have deleted now from iannotate.

So that's really helpful a penny, right?

Yeah. I mean, you know, the first know

that it she didn't beat any any huge horses there but then she

ran in some stakes races that Tampa.

I think she's probably been one that has gotten a little bit

more under her belt. I just like that she's been

running. She's I think she's going to

prefer this type of a surface here and, and doors, you know,

is a pretty good trainer. So, I don't know, she's kind of

my like, use underneath value, play possibly, in this

particular field, but I feel like it's all about timing

collector and and Luna Bell. But I agree with Dan and saying

that, you know, she's got one card to play and oftentimes that

just leaves you vulnerable. She's been able to overcome

that. Can't you do it again?

That's the big question. The answer is yes, Colonial and

at Laurel has already made almost a quarter million dollars

in our young career. So that's I'll try to solo here.

I'm going to single in a sequence here, man.

Okay, it's hilarious. That you talked about red wine

time because I have that horse of my notes.

That your Longshot Play, Dirty, the one, hang on, hang on.

All your second start coming out of the bottom coming out of a

dime claim, right? Get it, but yeah.

You betcha try to resolve such a solvent.

It's an easy as last 17 off the claim.

I love always like that person there click to confirm is more

of a speed horse, you know, not necessarily like weed.

I'm so tired. The timer's do weird things and

I literally have my notes but this is going to be tough.

I will include her in the third floor spotted in single race

tickets because I do think there's a shot that she ends up

in the morgue because just coming off the closing.

If the horses, find the stretch to be too long, she might be

right there. I'm really like you're not

paying I'm not and I'm not gonna throw stuff at the TV is all I'm

going to say right now. So well, they just Kentucky,

just took the lead by one with eight minutes left to go and the

insane. Like an eternity is Saint

Peter's. The college that has one

building in New York. I don't know that st.

John's gonna close it sounds as a campus.

Anyway, let's move on to the rest and we have not talked a

lot about. We talk more rational last week,

then we did this week and I'm, I'm totally resisting it.

So, Jay, and I used to be, I used to, I'm a pretty big

basketball fan. I used to run an All-Star game

here locally and Coach college basketball, humble brag, but the

but yeah, that's this can't lose to the peacocks.

Do this whole is the peacocks, especially if you're on CBS All

right. Private terms Stakes, Mama 16th.

On the dirt for three-year-olds. This is Race 10 and same

question, I guess Louis is this, you would probably be nearer to

the CEO and then to yes, because okay, alright, I got that one.

For the Preakness in this race. And right now, there are just a

lot of question marks what happened to conclusive last

timeout? My trombetta doesn't know.

I was hoping he would give me some Trader.

Excuse, backflip palette, something I asked him he said I

don't know. I think you might like to turns

better than one. I like arm its trainers.

At least spare locomotives. The number two is one of the

horses to be because he has tactical speed and nice inside

post distance is a bit of a question mark.

Gotta be honest. He's going to turns for the

first time. Eagle and love giant Step Up in

class for Rob actress. This was written really well in

his debut. He was the only first time

starter in that race and he came back to beat a couple of live

horses and I always like to see first time starters win at

distances greater than six furlongs it sort of Testament to

their Fitness and maybe their class and especially if they're

the only first time stars because experience tours to just

have a superior advantage in that experience standpoint.

Joe is the horse that I'm going to try to fade in this race even

though he's the likely favorite. He's 3 for 3 on dirt.

I didn't like that. He didn't change leads in the

stretch last timeout. Trombetta said, that's a Little

bit concerning. He said sometimes you know horse

is going to turn to the first time that will happen.

He is a big strong horse that if he gets pasted.

He's going to be tough. I don't know.

I look at Shake him loose. Now shake them loose is going to

be a little bit of a flyer in here.

Because how good is he? Well, he did win the head Stakes

first off the Rudy. Sanchez Solomon claim at 9:00 to

1:00. Maybe harbinger of things to

come in the race before. Hayden in these spectacular bid,

he grabbed himself coming out of the gate, I talk to Rudy earlier

this week and he said that he lost all all chance.

When he, when he hopped up in the air at the start, his last

race is a hard race for me to analyze, because when you watch

it, he's five wide, six path, every step and going along too

long. Second wires stretched Laurel.

That's a long distance of ground to cover five wide all the way

in the back, stretch all the way through the turn.

Made an early move makes the lead three furlongs out.

You're waiting for someone. Anyone who catch him, no one.

Does you wins very very easily. Now that race also in two

closers the first three horses after the first quarter mile,

they rounded out the bottom half.

The bottom third of the trifecta, they ran 9th, 10th and

11th respectively. So maybe it was a pace meltdown.

I think the source might be okay, his running style is

terrible. In a to turn race with this post

vision is terrible. He's likely just going to be

dropping back to the Last Hope for space and make one run, keep

an eye on Majestic Frontier. Jerry Rob did some very good

things with this Source. He was lugging in last time out.

He said Jerry, Rob told me he's going to be changing the bid on

this source and he's been running straight or in the

mornings. I like that.

That's what that's about is completed report you.

And I get Megan top that seriously.

And now I do appreciate though, Dan.

I just want to compliment you on that because you know, and

obviously this is a big day and everything and it's hard to keep

up that momentum all the time. I know that certainly, from for

being out of track but but just the that you are talking to

these trainers and you have things to say and I think that's

so important as an analyst. And I know I made a big deal to

do that at Santa Anita Park as well just Equipment changes are

huge. I'd always note that for people,

you know, talking about trip notes, like horses, you know

that are going to turn so don't switch leaves.

Whatever. Is it a fitness thing?

Is it just a learning thing? You know?

Did he kind of shut off or whatever could be 1 by 2 and

that's fine but I but I really appreciate that.

So I want to compliment you on your hug diligent research that

you have done for this card because it, it could really pay

off for the for the punters out there.

So I think you are doing them a good service in their

completion. So I'm like, Louie.

Look at me. I'm just complimenting people.

'Well, it's a. Is it your birthday?

But no, I mean, I to me, this seems like a spread race as

well. I feel like, there's I went

through this and there were just a number of horses that I was

making a case for, and I thought.

Yeah, I mean, conclusive could bounce back from that race?

Fine. Okay.

Then you've got locomotive then. You've got even Majestic,

Frontier, has been, you know, relatively consistent sits off

that pace is handled the distance.

Before loves Laurel. You know, Rob actresses.

Agreed a good Her and Joe makes n Shake them loose make sense.

So I mean, I am certainly not an all button player but the more I

looked at this race I was like am I gonna do it?

Is this what's gonna happen? Because you've just got a lot of

really, I mean, I would go all but Maximum Impact pretty much

it when it came down to it. So this is definitely one of

those races. If I was setting, it just alone

that I would definitely take a big look at the horses in the

paddock and figure out. What I wanted from there, but on

paper, I think there's a lot of reasons to like a lot of horses

in here. This is a different field than

we've seen, for a lot of Derby prep sin that there is there are

tons of horses with to turn experience and wins over to

turns coming into this room. So the all the odd horses, what

3 5 & 7 have all won over two turns and all of the even number

horses have wanted a Maya, that's remarkable and that makes

this pretty wide open. So I this is where Dan first

time I think we've disagreed I am going to put you on top.

I think is a progressive type. I That Michael talked about, I

gave him a good. I think he gave him that trip of

the optional claimer to get him ready for this spot.

Yes. So I okay.

Okay. It's so I think I think that's

what they were trying to find. I think it's fine to get second

time. Lasix here.

He's top of my board at this point.

I got the three magic Frontier in my second spot.

I got conclusive in that third spot.

Both have to turn experience. I think they have a legit shot

on Saturday of the first to the first time to Turner's.

Easy for me to say we are dead in the middle of stretch out

season. I'm going to go Go with Susan,

the I'll go below to local motive and the for eagle and

love, who's a gilded, son of dial in.

So I think that the breeding is there so I'll go 73 124 on that

on that part of the ticket. All right, to close out the day

in to close up the Pick 3 and the Daily Double and the pick

for the pick five and all this other stuff.

We have this race, 11 the starter optional claim or so,

just real quick, no notes, just give me some numbers.

Who do we got? You guys go first, let me throw

my pee. Pisa.

I just, I looked at it before, even the numbers came out, I

laid it on the two favorites, the form the seventh Megan,

yeah, I'm right there, silent service who's the fours at 4:52.

You know, makes a lot of sense and then I think you can make

the gates for robber as well. So, in my opinion, you know,

it's going to be kind of one of those tickets if you're playing

for me at least that and maybe that's a situation where you

play a nice double to end our day.

You know you've got a lot of horses that you like and rate

then you can kind of hone in. On some of the yes favorites but

at least you can kind of weed through the rest of the field in

here. But I'm right there with you.

I'm probably on the floor in the 7 and this particular spot, but

but that's not the way I play it.

I wanted you to be disagreeable, I got to agree with.

You might have a little bit of an edge, so if you have a chance

to go back to watch his last race, I know it was something

like 300 days ago, at parks, you might have been just shuffled

all the way back on the turn when he was making a run and

then dropped inside and Punching on Layton.

This looks like a class drop for a more speed.

A marvelous. Mike, I think he's, he's earned

some black type since that race. But I've I've been a big fan of

Rama and I guess I could lose more money on him on Saturday,

you're really committed. You're not a quitter?

No, not at all, unless it's way more.

And then I am not on him at all. And then I, when I do what I

want, when I do better. No, I mean, it's just I just

improbable I was on that ride for so long.

It was sad to watch that. I wasn't that worried.

It was said well, I wasn't well Dan, you done a horse racing,

happy. Our first.

You're the first person who's coming on here and try to plug a

DVD. So there is no more to say

Awesome fan, thanks for joining us.

We appreciate it. Thanks, and we'll talk to you

later, good. Which meant all so much for

having me on guys, really program.

All right, there's a that was Dan Dillman drf again, we really

appreciate him coming on and we're going to finish up real

quick. Just a couple races out at

Oaklawn and I'll be hitting speaking of Whitmore.

We got the Whitmore Stakes. So here we go, the great three

with more steaks, six, furlongs on the dirt for you, as a parent

is, I'm guessing this is the inaugural running of the

Whitmore Stakes at this name. Yeah.

Yes. Yeah, so yeah, 200,000 our race

and, you know, Lou Who we got here.

All right. So I'm immediately taking a

stand at at Oaklawn and trying to exclude the nine Hollis, who

to me is an every other type. He's never won above the

optional claiming level. So I'll leave the three, two,

one, second favorite off my ticket, the eight-year-old,

gelding Greeley, and Ben is going to try and step integrated

company. After winning 11 of his last 12,

mostly the lower level before picking off recently.

Listed steaks. This is a great three - to me.

And so I have him on top because all he does is run 108 and 109 6

or long runs if he runs a lot of Haiti wins this race.

Too late tryst is in the second spot for me to seven coming off.

Two wins in two tries first at the highest allowance level at

Churchill Downs. Hundred thirty seven thousand

dollars comes off. The left wins at Fairgrounds I

really both impressive. Traders free to vote hits it

23%. Second off the layoffs, I'm sure

she's gonna have him ready. I so I've got three and seven in

the top spots here jockey Louise.

Can you onus was on the to Bob's Edge?

When he won the King Cotton last time out here at Oakland at this

distance, geared down, 110 and hasn't.

He also hasn't gone back to back.

I'm going to try to just use the three of the seven in this leg

and try to beat two of those favorites.

So I'm against the nine. Who's To who will fill out the

exact very nicely. All right.

Megan besmirch. But I also really like Julian

tryst a big fan of sridevi. I think she's an excellent.

Horsewoman love the fact that this cat doing something very

strange love the fact that we're talking about actually, all

right, you kind of look down in between your legs and so just to

make sure it wasn't, I was just kind of wonder what this

possessed. Get off a wall when there's

nothing there. But anyways, so that's a laser

pointer just kind of messing with it.

Maybe at this point. Who knows?

It's pretty good. I love the fact that they

brought this horse back, I know that they've had high hopes for

him for a while. Obviously he's well-bred.

He's a son of into mischief and Desire Street.

I think her damn is produced multiple backlight winners.

Graded Stakes winners, Etc. So it's Been a productive female

family from that side. So but they've also kind of

taken their time with him, you know.

They tried him in the Woody Stevens and it didn't work out

for him. They gave them a bit of time off

quite a bit of time off. In fact it came back because it

was Keeneland. It was a really tough race but

the public is liked him every time he's come in.

And so I love the fact that really to me it seems like that

was his preparation last time and Fairgrounds.

They got him back off the layout of kind of figured this horse

out. And you can see that in the form

to, I mean winning two consecutive races at two

different tracks. Max Churchill and Fairgrounds.

I think it's just a credit to they've given him the time that

he needed maybe had an injury or something after that early kind

of tough campaign and would be Stevens but but yeah, this worse

to me has run up against some some pretty decent horses at a

variety of tracks and I'm a big fan.

So I think my tattoo is very fair on that.

One Bob's Edge. Make some sense that Lisa's has

a win here over this track. You know, seconds are up the

bench certainly doesn't help, but he was obviously The fire

first time out and then you've got a couple of other

interesting ones. You know, Greeley and then I

don't know. I mean this is kind of a but

step up for this horse, right? He is the picture of

consistency. He gets the lead and he finishes

in front. So there's a few other horses in

here that do have some speed but it seems like a lot of them like

this it off of it. So I'm very curious to see what

the pace scenario is going to be.

Possibly, you see a horse? Like no shoes, no shirt, no

shoes. No shirt, no shoes.

There we go. Who also has a A little bit of

speed and obviously draws the rail.

There didn't show as much early go last time but I don't know.

Greenlee and then to me kind of seems like that sneaky local

horse that could just get out of my way and kind of stay there if

nobody else is going to contest. But that's not necessarily the

way that it always is because the jockeys have the form to.

So they also see that there's no other, no other speed.

All right? We're going to do a quick pic

real quick is we're going to try to get this.

We got the two stakes races kind of sandwich, or kind of was

drowned some other races. To give you a pic for so race.

Eight is the maiden special weight will moderate for

three-year-olds and Louise. Who do you like here?

I landed on the five life of the Nile who was the near winner

last time and then the cock stretch out the seven, major

Contender 5, its own MD. Yeah I was going to agree there

with major Contender, for sure. The fact that Fred Cox has this

one I think on the improve, I think this horse is going to

appreciate the bit of extra distance here in going to times

seem to show just just a Ittle bit more last time, so it seems

like a horse that has kind of been putting it together both in

the mornings with some decent workouts.

He's kind of, it doesn't look like one that they necessarily

push too hard. It interesting too, that he was

training at Oaklawn for a long time since it opened back in

December. Because remember it open early

this year and then they ship them to Fairgrounds to run in

those two races. He worked there, actually his

last work with the fairgrounds and I shipped it back to

Oakland. It's a run at Oakland.

Seems to be shuttling between those two different tracks.

They're just try to figure out probably the best surface for

them, the best type of Race forum and obviously the distance

do. Now, they're going to try, try

the mile, the two turned out here at Oakland Park, so I

definitely think the Brad Cox training is right there.

You know, I I was so kind of like Fast Lane a little bit, the

to horse receive a citizen who they asked, Moses heard of off

at church. That it's not going to happen,

okay? Not in the cards but as mizuki's

pointed first time out he this is the slowest perfect of all

time at Churchill. I'm at the maidens are like my

favorite races so your Springs. I don't know I think fast lane

with the stretch out here and the fact they give him some

time. He seemed to find himself on the

front end. Last time I should not have been

sprinting so I think six of one with a Steve as Mizzou and Joel

Rosario horse is Is very fair on to the Essex handicap.

The great 3016 here. By the way, we didn't say was

the the Whitmore grade 3. 3 - 3 - yeah.

Okay. And the Essex handicap where we

had great they're here for sure. Okay then let's this is a mono

CCD villager for four year olds and up five hundred thousand,

our race five hundred thousand dollars in appendices that right

there, right? Yeah, but we like here though.

Yeah, why it's a great thing because it was listed six within

the last couple of years and so this People chase the money, not

the grated parts of these races and I'm pressing all for this

one. Part of that is that my logs out

of the week is in this race. He's not shot the too tight

already is 12 to 1. What a great 3 at Fairgrounds

last January, then went to made on took a bunch of time off.

Red third off the layoffs in a 150 thousand dollar optional

claimer, Churchill Downs in a blanket finish almost actually

won that race. Could have easily won that day a

try. So Claude over the ball mud

doesn't like it, we should have better conditions on Saturday,

they run the horse. Pegasus World Cup Invitational,

which was loaded. And he didn't have a chance,

he's getting a little time coming off with Del Stewart hits

a 21% on and he hits it 26% with Bryant Hernandez Junior.

So I'm going to give tight already my top spot and not talk

about any of the other horses because Megan tell George all

the one. Let's go lose this race to me,

is the wait, they're still running race.

I mean ever aided are socially called the It more delta-9.

You've got an eight-year-old in here and popular kid.

Like I kept going down the list when handicapping.

This was like, whoa. Okay.

You know, Megan, who is the Rated-R Superstar, by the way,

just had a. Do you know who that what?

That reference is? What we do.

You know, Louis when I, you know the radar.

No, it's a resting record. He doesn't know.

We know it's wrestling and John Cena, I'm sorry, John Cena.

Oh my gosh. Now I'm like you're Randy Orton.

Randy Orton. Yes.

All right, there you go. I don't know who that is either.

No, thank you. Okay, I agree with Louis JD

would have known that one. Probably.

Well Jane, he's not here. Well, II, think Warriors,

charged as a chance. Plainsman obviously has the the

good local race there reason we bowl a Luminaire.

For a Topper. Say, could make a comeback in

here. I think there's a number of

courses that use. So I'm I think this is a race

when you're putting together your tickets that you leave

yourself a little bit of room to put it in quite a few, a few

numbers in this point where like, where you assume Plainsman

is found his old form, a new single Plainsman.

I honestly think that those are the two ways to please rise.

I mean, the fact that Plainsman, you know, did that s start off

the layoff, you have to assume he's going to come back strong

again, you know, you kind of give A little bit of an asterisk

and to say alright. Well were they at their Fitness

or were they like 75% and I needed that racing Fitness to

come back off of it in which case he won the race.

Anyways granted it was only by a neck so then does he went by 3

this time because he's just even more fit and got a lot out of

the race. So I agree with you there Louis.

But but yeah I mean in hoping but but to be fair, I mean, this

race, it Stacks up pretty decently.

Like this isn't a walkover field for him per se.

Well, I agree with that too. Yeah.

Also these verses are like ancient so good, I don't know.

All right so we're going to close out the day with Race 10

and oil Choice. One mile on the dirt for Phil.

He's a three year olds and up and this is a quick pic to just

kind of a Phillies pic for pic 3 and Daily Double tickets.

Louis, who do you like here? I've got the seven in the 11.

I'm encouraged by the jockey change to the 11 or Selena to

Luis Luis. Contreras and Pharaoh's heart is

on the non to lifer designation in this group.

Which I like instead of has not won a starter, allow it to check

about since 2020 and so I'm 7-Eleven if you're from the

north that's a really really good reference.

It is a good. I got that one.

I am on, I think Sarah's heart in here.

That one makes a lot of sense to me.

You know I think you can probably excuse that tough Mile

and an eighth grade 2 and just say that this horse has had a

pretty good career thus far and you know she's a five-year-old

mayor and she just started last year she would have been a

four-year-old then so you know they obviously waited a little

while for her to Now up or whatever it was.

But I think this is a good spot for her interesting, too,

because I don't know how many horses, a little Red Feather

racing has that run in this this circuit.

But you certainly have to go where the money is, like we've

said, before, course, obviously previously was running with Mark

lot over there at Santa Anita. And the other words, that was

interesting to me that I have no idea what to do with is travel

for Leonard Powell because I would have to look up.

How many horses he has ever? Run a Tok Wan?

Mark because he is a Frenchman, he's a Southern California guy

and I, you know ship some horses up to Golden Gate or whatever,

but doesn't really go outside of that circuit very much.

So I'm really intrigued that he brings this horse here and put

son, Giovanni Franco, who he knows obviously from the SoCal

circuit. So I don't know if the numbers

are there for her. You know, she's coming back from

a bad race on Turf. It kind of looks like, it's been

like the pasta method where they just kind of throw at anything

and see what sticks for distance or Surface or whatever.

But that's what the one for the last race.

If you want to take a shot, I think it's it's an interesting

horse to to possibly give a second look, too.

Alright guys. Well that's the end of the show

today. So unless you want anything

else? Damn is Great.

Dan was fantastic. It was a good show and I'm going

to try to watch the last three minutes this basketball game.

So he's winning 68-62 and right now they're thinking it over, is

right in Indiana. All right, Louise.

An Indiana University. Graduate, as my wife, 27

schools, I went to. Well, you know, sounds, here's a

lot of teams to repairs. He's learned it, you know, very

much. We're gonna pay the tab.

We're going to get out of here. Thank you for listening.

This has been the horse racing happy hour.
